OK Diner in Newark and Sherwood

Passed the OK Diner many times without calling in. So, this time decided to call and check it out. We were very impressed with the service and the food, (chicken platter) both in quality and quantity. We will definitely be calling in again.

Great breakfast on the road. Saw the OK diner, stopped and found it offer a great breakfast. Service was good and friendly. Menu options were great. Food was great.

This place is fantastic. It has the feel of a classic diner. It's got great food, great service and it's well priced. Definitely recommended becoming and Ok Rocker club member.

We goto Lincoln regularly and like to stop off at OK Diner even going off route to go just something different from the norm great food atmosphere and service nothing a problem love it highly recommended!

The milkshakes are worth the trip on their own. The chilli curly fries as an appetiser are great value for money.

Friendly staff quick service good breakfast and unlimited coffee

Never been to US so can only compare to what i've seen in movies and can tell this diner made me feel a bit like i was in US for a moment. The place has nice "authentic" roadside diner atmosphere, with Pulp Fiction style music in the background and a waitress with coffee jug doing top ups for customers. The food i ordered was tasty and the size good for the price. I will definately visit more often dururing my future journeys. Recomended!

We'd used an ok diner a couple of years ago further down the A1 at Bloody Oaks , so we were sending our merry way up the A1 through Newark and there it was so led by the stomach , you have to be , we went in .pretty much as the other one , what you'd think of as Americans diner . Bright , chrome , some rock n roll and blues in the background . The staff are pleasant and approachable, the tables and seats are comfortable and clean , the lighting is bright , the menu's easy to read . We had a couple of their milkshakes , if you don't have one we cannot be friends . The burger I ordered was well cooked , constructed and tasty , light crispy chips . My partner had a breakfast that was very good in her opinion. All good . A reasonable price point on the food . The toilets were clean and serviceable. All good . Could turn into the monthly treat .

Took the family for something different, really enjoyed it and the price was great also.

It took a long time to get in because of the line but that wasn't too surprising. However, the food was great (especially the chicken wings) and our food didn't take too long to come. Overall a very nice place to eat out, especially after a long car journey! Also I loved the '60s, American style atmosphere!

We found this place quite by chance. We had a short wait to be seated, but the service was excellent. American themed, they certainly like Buddy Holly, which pleased me alot. Food was very good, arrived hit with ample.portions

My go to milkshake place every time on the m1 I only get the bannoffee milkshake definitely one not to miss. Make sure to take your ok diner membership card

Seemed much better on the north bound than the south bound..food was nice but better service and seemed a nicer place.

This is one of the best meals that I have had in a while. It was the perfect balance of flavour and design. The diner is been kept to its former glorious self and looks like it has came straight out of a movie, this is one of the reasons why it caught my eye while me and my family was driving down the motorway and the light caught the side of my eye and we just knew that we would have to go there. When we walked inside the diner it felt like I had escaped from reality to another time. Overall the staff couldn’t have been nicer and there was a wide range of meals, sides, starters, drinks and my personal favourite the dessert. This was a very clean restaurant and I would extremely advise visiting this on a day out or even just whenever you feel the desire for spectacular food. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

We were driving North on the A1 looking for somewhere to eat and we were so pleased we pulled in at the OK Diner. Friendly efficient staff. Very fast service. Free refills for our cups of tea. Really enjoyed our meal.

Were seated fast but took a while to take our order. It was a busy Saturday though. Good selection of food, really enjoyed the beanburger and banoffee cheesecake for dessert. Staff were friendly and a good range of diner food on offer. Came again and it was busy which shows how good it is. Got seated fast and really enjoyed the onion ring tower and the veggie grill.

Very popular. Great American food in England. Good place to have lunch when road-tripping north.

Been here a few times now, really friendly and pleasant staff and the restaurant is very clean and nicely decorated, however, on my last visit I came away with food poisoning after ordering the Scampi burger.. not a pleasant experience and I'll be avoiding the restaurant for the long term until I forget about the experience..

I've always liked the ok diner. It feels like being in the states, but you've actually near Doncaster.

Love this place, we've been dozens of times. Staff are fabulous, food is lush and with very generous portions. Great milkshakes - worth going for these alone! Great value too

1st time we've ever visited an OK Diner. Loved it, will certainley visit again as it gave us a nice civilised break on our journey. All good.

Always love eating at the OK Diner, great food, tolerant of my many allergies and brilliant friendly service. The fact that they sell root beer is the cherry on top for me. Don't fill up on a main and save yourself for some cheesecake, you won't be disappointed!

I can honestly say they couldn’t have been more helpful we were travelling up with our dog and cat in the car. The food was excellent and they even bought it out to us.

If you want a burger and stuff on it, then it's fine. However, if you want the beef chilli, well, I don't think it's seen beef in its life! Was just veg which was very over cooked and was mush! I did find 6 kidney beans!The rice had not been washed before cooking, all the starch was still in it, it was a dry gluey lump on the plate, and not much of it at that. It was horrid! Hence the low rating. I think it was expensive rubbish. The pop is OK, at only nearly four pounds a glass!!! But you do get free top ups. Service was cheery but . . . Pudding was good, very tasty. I am normally too full for a pudding but not this time.

Have driven past this place for many years before going in for the first time. Now this is a favourite of our childrens - they love the pancakes! Great place for a quick bite!

Love this place. Service great and a lovely mint choc chip milkshake with a burger and curly fries. Hit the spot. I go there every time I drive from London to York. Another visit. Decent service but few people and half the place closed off. Food below par and not up to the price. Bit disappointed as I like the place and the music. And back again. This time made up for previous disappointment. A lovely all day breakfast (the fried bread divine) and three cups of decent coffee. Excellent service. In love again!

Fantastic service, very quick, brilliant food! This is our go-to place for breakfast when heading to the north - and it has never failed us yet. If you've not stopped here before, do so, you won't regret it!

Quite disappointed, burger and chicken wings and a coffee £25 and this was on a special Wednesday all burgers £7.95, food mediocre and I think extortionate, lovely American diner should be producing lovely American food. Worth a visit just to have the milkshakes but get your food elsewhere.

Love this diner. We use it when travelling from Kent to Yorkshire. The food is great, but for me it's the service that makes this place. It is the best always so friendly and accomodating, can't do enough for.

Drive past this place all the time and thought it would be a great place to eat! Carparks always full too so thought 'it must be good'... couldn't have been more wrong. I had a chicken, cheese and bacon burger and it was fully soggy! Just brown fat dripping continously out of my burger... pulled pork was ok that was on my fries but we seated 12 people here. Not one person enjoyed there meal really shameful when we spent so much money there! Tried the pudding and shakes and it was just a complete let down. Order a Banoffee Shake and got a banana one. I told them and they tried to tell me what I had was what I wanted and then finally changed it. One staff member wanted to please but the rest spent there time trying to not make obvious that they spoke about you the whole time you was there! Spotted a few members of staff trying to hide what they were saying. Food definitely needs investigating. Thorough investigation into the hygiene rating should also be revised! And 90% of the staff need sending off for schooling on basic customer service skills. Safe to say we won't be returning. To the waiters and 'chefs' you really let this place down... there's nothing American about Ok Diner bar the decor!👎🏼

Food excellent as always. Service absolutely fantastic staff couldn't do enough for us, even down to asking which end my disabled wife needed to sit for ease of access to toilet (disabled one end general use opposite). Extremely pleasant visit.

50s style diner great feel, 50s music playing in the background. Food especially burgers delicious caddy brought to table full of sauces for you to add your own seasoning. Travellers enjoy the Americana and the food. Staff friendly and professional.

While my wife had been before this was my first trip to the OK Diner and we loved it. Prices were reasonable, we had 3 classics (burger/hotdog), 3 milkshakes and a kids meal and paid just over £50, Sure if prices were a fraction lower, we would have had a desert too, But the meals where delicious, made quickly and accompanied by great service. Being disabled I carry a stick, which fell at the table, I know people are supposed to "ask" before helping because it's degrading 🙄, but we all know it's instinctive to just help anyway, or sit and wait to see if the person needs help. .. but in a split second, the waitress was on hand, very politely asking if I'd like her to get it, and grabbing the stick for me. It's a small gesture, but such politeness is VERY rarely seen from waiting staff. We will definitely visit again in the future.

Classic '50s style diner. Good food, not too bad prices, (worth getting their loyalty card for 15% off), but can get very busy. Regular coffee has free refills and everything is cooked to order. Well worth trying, just wish there was more of them.

We stop here every time on the way home from Essex. The service is consistently good and the food always tasty. The million dollar shakes are worth the extra but the lemon bisvoff one is a little disappointing.

We weren't disappointed by burgers quality. Always so tasty! We added cookie dough heaven as a dessert and it was certainly heavenly good! Place is convenient for stop over when you travel on A1.

We arrived at a busy time, but were advised of up to 15 minutes wait and we were probably seated after 10 minutes. Both had breakfasts, which while they did not use the highest quality ingredients both were really enjoyed. Staff were very friendly, tables were being cleaned quickly, I would recommend and will stop here again.

Nice place for a quick stop and a snack. The burgers are a bit dry they miss some vet what makes them not as a hamburger should taste.

A staple of the A1 traveller. Been using these for quite a few years, i actually look forward to visiting these places when using the A1.

We have a tradition of stopping here every time we travel North. It’s by far the best roadside food, service and experience on the A1 bar none! Burgers done properly, great traditional menu, friendly and helpful service. Add to that the 50s music and classic American Diner atmosphere, win, win!

Very poor experience. Half the ingredients missing. Complained and was told to take it up with head office ! Expensive poor quality food.
