Coffee was so bad we tipped it out. Which considering they cost $8AUD each is nuts. Most cafes in Newark were this bad actually it was not just Starbucks but Starbucks was the worst.

Newark is a great place to stop off for your essentials. The market square on market days is a nice chance to wander around and pick up some bargains. We did just that and thought we'd have a coffee in Starbucks. Bad move. Needed a loan to pay for the fluid that appeared. Dreadful coffee at champagne prices. It was awful, pure syrupy filter Americano, whatever in a thimble. How we yearned for a cup of Kenco. I was so smacked off my baps on caffeine that I saw a horse in the toilet and fell asleep three days later.

I came here just for a quick refreshing drink on a warm day in Newark, and the drink was gorgeous. I got an iced chai tea latte.. Just tasted amazing! Also, the service is very quick but still quality, exactly what you want. Sophia served us and I just felt like I had to write a review for her alone, her service was fantastic in every way and always is for every customer that walks in. It’s nice to have someone make you smile and put you in a good mood, especially when grabbing your nice beverage for the day.

Tried to order a coffee & muffin in drive through and got neither! Muffins all out of stock - so offered a blonde ‘bite’ instead. I ended up having to go inside because they got the coffee wrong and the blondie bite was just that - a one inch piece for £1.50!!

Entered premises and was immediately jumped on and told no dogs (didn’t see any sign on door telling us this ) I explained I always use Starbucks we’re I go as they allow dogs and Costa don’t she explained it was managers discretion so all 4 of us left with our dogs won’t be giving Starbucks repeat Buisness from now on Rude

I went in Starbucks today and was greeted by the shining Sophia!! She was nothing less than delightful! It was obvious that she understood the importance of small interactions and made sure she gave each customer her full attention whilst being so lovely and friendly! I really hope she sees this as she deserves recognition for being so lovely!!

Today when I went to this store, everything was going swimmingly and due to it being a saturday the store was very busy with customers queing inside and out. I was close to beiogn served after waotong 5 minutes with the staff effectively getting through customers and there being no issues. That was until one staff member dared to ask a customer to not sit down on ana rea of seating with signs all over it stating it was temporarily closed as to comply with covid guidelines. The customer in question then decided to kick off to the poor staff member who had politely asked him not to sit down by challenging ehr and demanding a reason as to why he wasn't allowed to sit down. the staff member calmly explained however this customer wasn't having it and then took offence to the lovely staff member asking why he wasn't wearing a mask. Apparently he was "dyslexic" and so was completely unaware of the covid guidelines that have been in place for nearly over a year now. He was very aggressive to the staff and was acting disgracefully infront of his young daughter in store. The manager then came out to deal with him and was very professional and fair, explaining to the man the reasons for the guidelines and not escualting the situation by letting him be served even after his disgusting behaviour. The level of professionalism and customer service skills shown was incredible. My heart goes out to the staff who likely have had to deal with similar before and will have to do so again in future. I can't imagine how stressful it must be to deal with and I will be returning again as I have had any issues at said starbucks and have always been treated very kindly and quickly by staff no matter how stressful a day it might be. My drink was also jsut as high quality as it is usually.

Staff at Starbucks Newark are always so friendly and helpful. Under the current Covid restrictions it is great to see them following rules and making us all feel safe when visiting to purchase takeaway. Its just a shame some customers don't think the rules apply to them! It is reassuring to hear staff asking people to wear a face covering when entering but unfortunate that they cannot question people if they say the are exempt. At the end of the day they have a responsibility to keep their customers safe, whilst trying to keep themselves safe. Absolutely cannot fault the service or the coffee!

Staff in this store care about their customers and do their upmost to help protect us from Covid 19 whilst serving us with professionalism and they are ALL super friendly. Coffee is always excellent. They are doing a great job in very difficult circumstances. They often get abuse whilst doing their job. I appreciate what they do and am thankful that I can still get my coffee, with a smile from behind a mask! I have asked them, if I do forget to put my mask on, just yell at me. I want to keep myself and others safe. Starbucks Newark always has been a friendly store with caring staff who serve great coffee. Keep up the good work.

Fancy a boot camp experience?.... Then pop down to Starbuck's Newark for a dose of the worst in COVID customer service. Yesterday I walked out of Starbucks Newark due to the crazy overbearing attitude of the staff there. I'd committed the cardinal sin of walking into the store and standing too close to the door (masked up and stood away from the person in front of me in the queue). My minor mistake, I admit, as customers who were leaving had to walk within 2m of me. I wasn't thinking, but we all make mistakes. For my small indiscretion did the staff: A) Come over and politely ask me to stand away from the door. B) Shout at me from the counter across all the other customers in the store, in a manner that might have been appropriate if I was about to detonate a bomb, telling me to go outside. I complied with my orders and walked one minute round the corner to Costa Coffee where the staff were way more friendly. It takes a lot to spark me into action to write a review, but I had a similar boot camp experience from the same staff member last summer. I'd walked into the store through the Covid entrance, following the Covid arrows and standing 2m from the one customer in front of me. I was looking forward to a peanut butter frappe (highly recommend if you are thick skinned and have some ear plugs). Unfortunately I read on the menu board that my chosen drink was out of stock so, not wanting to shuffle past the one customer in front of me I turned around and left by the Covid entrance door. There was no queue behind me and the door was a mere 5m away..... But the Starbucks Covid sergeant was on the ball and spotted my dangerous decision. My walk to the door was completed under a barrage of shouted orders from the staff behind the counter, but I made it to freedom. Freedom that was celebrated moments later with a Costa Coffee frostino. If you enjoy poor customer service, overbearing staff and barked orders Starbucks Newark is the place to be. Unfortunately I don't, and I won't be returning any time soon.

Coffee was perfect temperature, staff all nice and polite etc Only thing id gripe is that on arrival there was loads of empty seats but all with last customers cups on etc. On leaving though there was a member of staff clearing our table straight away so maybe busy Cake was lovely also. Would go back 100%

Seats digusting, food all over the floor, spilt drinks. The place is that bad you need a code to use the loo! 4 Staff behind the counter when not really busy. Gross place. Ever dim the lights or clean it.

Looking better than ever after being refurbished. Visit here with my 4 year old son often, he loves it in there. The staff make him feel so welcome and always have a smile and a conversation with him (even when he is being a bit of a monkey!) Service is always as fast as possible and I am always amazed at how many customers names the staff remember on their return visits. Great atmosphere, great service and great coffee.

My first aim after getting to Newark was to have a coffee break. I headed for the Market Place and found Starbucks. Not a chain I usually visit, but it looked recently opened so I gave it a try.I just wanted a coffee and the ordering and paying process was quite straight-forward. I was asked my name and then told my coffee would be at the end of the counter, fairly usual...I expected my name to be called but nothing. Several later customers had been called. A name was called and nobody came forth, so I asked if the young lady had one for my name? "Oh, no, this must be yours then..." she said thrusting an over full cup in my direction. "Milk's over there" she added pointing to another unit. I had little room to add any milk and caused an over flow onto the floor. If I'd wanted a black coffee, it would have been good value, but as it was the value was diminished by filling the cup so full that it spilt. Any why ask my name if it isn't conveyed to the person making the drink?Should have gone to Costa!

Dropped in for lunch and to use the facilities. Found staff at the Starbucks considerate and welcoming, things clean and the seasonal drink I tried very nice! Also surprised to see dogs are allowed inside 🐶 so will probably return with my pup

Seems you get charged a Parking Fine when driving into car park on a Sunday early morning and finding that the Diner is closed and driving away all within 6 minutes No visible sign showing that just for serving in the car park and leaving in 6 minutes you have to pay for parking ! Even after submitting an appeal and explaining that I didn’t turn my engine off and photo evidence showed that my friends and I left after 6 minutes to find somewhere else open on a Sunday morning , the parking fine still stands apparently !! Have been using this location with my friends and family over 10 years or more - will not be going here again Day light robbery and a joke is the politest thing I will say

This has turned into my 'go to' place for lunch in Newark. The welcome is always genuine, the food & service are good, and I'm pleased to see that it is usually busy on a lunchtime. Have to admit, I regularly go past on my daily walk and the smells coming from the restaurant are always amazing, one of these days I'll go in for breakfast or Sunday lunch. I started to go back to the Swan and Salmon first after Covid, and then after the devastating floods we've had here in recent years, feeling like I wanted to support them. Now I just go back because everything about the place is good. One of the better lunch spots in Newark, and given how many people were in there today, I'm not the only person who thinks that.
