Service very slow, toaster broken .

I had breakfast here, good quality food, and I couldn't fault the service.

Friendly and quick service, welcoming for dogs and humans alike. Lovely restaurant manager and huge portions. A few good veggie options. Lovely cup of tea as well.

We have passed many times on the way back to Kent but decided to stop today. We have just left feeling happy and satisfied. My husbands burger was perfect as was my chilli dog. Possibly the best milkshake I've had. Staff are kind, attentive and friendly. Defo stop again on way home

A great pit-stop at OK Diner. Quick and efficient service. Food is always piping hot, decent quality and good value.

What can I say, Veggie breakfast is awesome, cooked from fresh and always pipping hot, bottomless coffee, and always served with a smile, Great value for money, Highly recommended and the music not bad either

Wouldn’t go back. Whole breakfast tasted of chemicals the eggs were uncooked when we told the manager and showed them the eggs and mentioned the potatoes weren’t hot he said ‘they’ve come straight out the fryer they can’t be’ and refused to do anything with the bill. We have got 5 mins down the road and I have vomitted wouldn’t recommend 🤢

Our favourite place anywhere north of London, basically!! We discovered OK Diner a few years back and have been a few times since - we would always stop if we are travelling down A1. Such a cool place, yummy food and super friendly staff - Americana in a bubble!! 😍👍👌

Stopped off on the way to see friends. Great atmosphere, professional and polite staff. Food was great, generous portions, and what imagine a 50's diner to feel like. We'll definitely be back on the way past, as it's a much nicer experience than some fast food outlets.

Looking for somewhere for lunch we stopped here and were pleasantly surprised. My wife and I have lived in the USA and can say this had a true American vibe. Soft drinks served in small glasses but honestly don't know if they were free refills. Atmosphere was excellent and surprisingly quiet. Service was excellent and food was good in good size portions. Minor drawbacks were that the toilets were clean but not heated. Was freezing in there. Spicy Korean pulled pork was perfect size but spicier than I was expecting. Given it's location they probably only get passing trade but we enjoyed our visit so much that we would certainly make an effort to go back. Pricing was reasonable too.

Popped in for a breakfast and it was excellent! Freshly cooked and piping hot! The white toast was really lovely. I felt the price was good for a roadside restaurant, I will be returning. That is also the best chocolate milkshake I’ve had this side of the states!

Always a great place to stop! Good coffee, great burger and the onion ring stack is a favourite as a starter. Our waiter Jeremy is a star, nothing is too much trouble!!

Been here many times when travelling south on the A1. This visit was not good. It was really cold , I had to go out to the car and get our coats. We said to the staff how cold it was, he said he was hot because he was working and carried on. We ordered our usual the black and blue burger, the burger was dry and the blue cheese was practically non existent, would be lucky to have 1/4 teaspoon on there certainly not like in the past visits. We should have said something but we didn't but will choose somewhere else to stop next time.

Me and the lovely Wife stopped here on our way home yesterday. 10/11/2024. The food was excellent and the service second to none.

Tasteless pancakes. Canned cream, and a very expensive spoonful of ice cream. Sort out staff and atmosphere. will never visit again.

Myself and my partner saw this place on our 5 hour journey to a little holiday getaway and thought we must stop there on the way back… and that’s what we did. We traveled 2 hours out of our way to the original one we passed on the A1 only to find it was closed with no signage so we had to turn around and drive to this one. When we walked in it was very quiet, a lot of empty seating areas and only 3 groups of customers. We were waiting a bit at the door where no staff member bothered to greet us, so I walked over to an empty booth and sat down only to have a waiter appear behind the front counter and shout at me over the room, in front of all the other customers saying I “can’t sit there and need to wait to be seated”, which I found very rude and unnecessary. It’s a ‘walk-in’ diner, very quiet so why can’t I choose where I want to sit? What if I had a disability and couldn’t stand for long periods? We had to wait another 5 minutes or so at the door before he came over and sat us right on top of the other couples on a horribly small table. I get very anxious and like eating away from people so this was less than ideal. When the server walled away, I caught him giving me a look that didn’t sit well with me. He then went over to the other half of the diner and put all the chairs up on the tables to stop people from sitting there and it was only gone 1pm!! I told my partner that I wanted to leave as the atmosphere just felt really unwelcoming but they were hungry so I stayed. They had no milkshakes which was disappointing, didn’t mention the drinks were refillable and took an age to serve us when it was very quiet. The food was beyond average. My french toast was very undercooked inside and the extra bacon was £3 for 3 tiny slices!! My partners food was cold and stodgy. The coke was flat and not fizzy. This left us £40 out of pocket for below average food and horrible service. I wish we walked out after being shouted at as it was not worth the hype some people say here and definitely not worth a tip or any money! Would not recommend and would definitely not return.

Shakes galore and fabulous. Great choice of burgers and so much more And great puds. Great friendly service. Stop, and you won't be disappointed.

Better than just an ok diner, actually a very good diner

Whilst seated said the area was very cold where we had sat waiter did not offer to move tables. Food arrived we asked for a blue and black burger, Burger was dry. Hardly any cheese on burger. Will twice about going again

We got a proper dinner, and it actually arrived quite prompt. It couldn't be expected to be the Ritz in any way. But it's quirky, so it's worth a go now and then! I noticed a waiter brought out a phone left by an absent-minded motorist to the car. Brownie points. In order!

This is our favourite place to stop off for a truly amazing breakfast when travelling along the A1. The turning into the diner is a little disconcerting as it appears to be a bit of a building site, but it is well worth the stop! Highly recommend the Yankie Doodle Dandy breakfast, I have never seen eggs with such a yellow yolk! The pancakes and syrup are divine, not the usual chemically confused "maple flavour" of other diners we have visited. To be honest, all the menu items we have tried have been amazing. If you get the chance, try their milkshakes, served old skool in a glass with a metal beaker for the extra.. Nom nom! Nice atmosphere with the 50's vibe, and the service has always been good.

-Food good, nothing special -Burger was cooked over well done, very dry -When you add extra "Poutin them" to your chips you just get a spoon of gravy and a pinch of cheese for 2.95 It's a bit of a scam

Can’t fault my experience here, friendly staff, delicious food (and plenty of it served! Worth the money), nice atmosphere. Maybe it depends what time of day you come, I have arrived at 2pm on a Wednesday afternoon and the only other customers are lone truckers, only about 6 customers in the entire restaurant.

Pulled in for a coffee ..dog wasn't allowed in and too cold to sit out so decided to go ..were told we have to pay for parking if we didn't buy something..!!! Bought a coffee and threw it away as it was just like hot water . Disgusting ...

A very casual diner on the roadside. As you’d expect, it has a 60’s American theme with attentive staff and good food. Highlight is the proper cola with ice cream though!

The ok diner on way up north excellent this one on way down south made same menu choices food was cold reheated then greasy was sick as a result. Young inexperienced staff not their fault but the grubby toilets and drab atmosphere could have been improved by management choices!

I’ve always gone to the ok diner on the other side of the road at Stamford, and heard that this one was awful and had to see it for myself, and lived up to all my expectations. Waited a good 5 minutes to be seated, whilst watching staff doss about, once seated took another 10/15 minutes to be served, and then waited another 10 minutes for our hot drinks to turn up, with only one milk to share between us (couple) another 20 minutes goes by and no food to be seen, but plenty of people complaining and walking out. Another 10 minutes go by a still no food and absolutely no urgency of getting our food. I highly recommend NOT to stop off at this diner and travel a little further down the road to get a completely different and far superior experience, with friendly, welcoming staff and fast service!

Popped in on the off chance , best breakfast I've had in aroadside eatery for years. Great service, fast and very tasty, will be back when passing next time.

Having come out with my Dad and son as a treat, we thought we would try the OK Diner as we had never visited before. When we walked in we waited to be seated and were left for a few minutes and not acknowledged by a single member of staff. Eventually a young lady sauntered over and took us too a table. We were given menus and 10 minutes later another "happy enthusiastic" member of staff came over and took our order. I asked him how he doing and I was completely ignored. The food came out in a timely manner and it was three burgers and chips. The food was perfectly adequate but nothing special. When we were done and had tidied our table up, I waved at the young lady and asked for the bill. She came over and chucked the bill and card machine on the table and said "follow the instructions". No please, no thank you, no nothing. We wasted just shy of £50 here and will never be back after the awful service we received. For a speciality diner with plenty of passing trade, you should try much much harder.

Coffee machine was broken. Nit a good start as father inlaw was hoping for a capuchino. Food was OK but just OK nothing special. Milkshake was lovely.

Was shocked at the price of one piece of bacon. Could have bought a whole packet from the shop. That aside. Lovely food and reasonable portion sizes bacon aside.

I would not return. There is no option of takeaway cutlery. They told me it’s because plastic cutlery is illegal. As a food business owner I know the solution is wooden cutlery? Which is what I do. This diner offers absolutely no option; but they will allow you to order food to take out. And then tell you they don’t offer takeout cutlery. Surely you should tell a customer we will give you the food, but not provide any cutlery. Before allowing them to order takeout. No sugar on the tables of 2, only larger. No spoons on tables to stir coffee; only if you ask for one. For the price, poor value for money. I felt like I was an inconvenience to the staff. Not welcoming and not friendly.

Classic diner food as usual. Generous portions (as usual). Staff made us feel welcome (as usual).

Having been here before I was disappointed by the service today. Our order was taken quickly and the food was served in a timely manner. The black and blue burger lacked much sauce but the burger itself was tasty. The double cheeseburger also lacking in sauce and cheese. Nobody asked if the food was ok and I had to ask twice for the bill, waiting 10 minutes before I asked for second time. Disappointing today.

Stopped at the A1 southbound Diner just after Colsterworth. Waitress was very friendly and formal. Food was very nice and reasonably priced. Not particularly cheap but not expensive. Always wanted to visit an OK Diner, happy I've finally done it and will definitely do it again. 5 🌟.

Great diner. Order was taken correctly by the waitress but interpretated wrongly by the cooks. They rectified it quickly after we explained that we didn't want to wait any longer for food as it took quite a long time in the first place. Food was great and tasty, a fair price. Had to wait a long time for the milkshake, but again it was lovely when it arrived.

Pitstop on the way back from the Peak District. A friendly welcome as we entered. Great milkshakes, food was good and well presented. Service was quick. Will be stopping there again.

My daughter wanted a milk shake So it seemed like the perfect place for such a beverage. I didnt want to go to one of the usual fast food restaurants as they are always such a disappointment. I was apprehensive but i thought we would give ok diner a try. Well stone me it was great! milkshakes were superb, creamy, rich with plenty of flavour. Not sweet either. Burgers great, service friendly. Would go again
