American based food but plenty to suit all tastes.

-Food good, nothing special -Burger was cooked over well done, very dry -When you add extra "Poutin them" to your chips you just get a spoon of gravy and a pinch of cheese for 2.95 It's a bit of a scam

Can’t fault my experience here, friendly staff, delicious food (and plenty of it served! Worth the money), nice atmosphere. Maybe it depends what time of day you come, I have arrived at 2pm on a Wednesday afternoon and the only other customers are lone truckers, only about 6 customers in the entire restaurant.

Milkshakes are amazing! Have to stop for one when passing.

Pulled in for a coffee ..dog wasn't allowed in and too cold to sit out so decided to go ..were told we have to pay for parking if we didn't buy something..!!! Bought a coffee and threw it away as it was just like hot water . Disgusting ...

A very casual diner on the roadside. As you’d expect, it has a 60’s American theme with attentive staff and good food. Highlight is the proper cola with ice cream though!

The ok diner on way up north excellent this one on way down south made same menu choices food was cold reheated then greasy was sick as a result. Young inexperienced staff not their fault but the grubby toilets and drab atmosphere could have been improved by management choices!

I’ve always gone to the ok diner on the other side of the road at Stamford, and heard that this one was awful and had to see it for myself, and lived up to all my expectations. Waited a good 5 minutes to be seated, whilst watching staff doss about, once seated took another 10/15 minutes to be served, and then waited another 10 minutes for our hot drinks to turn up, with only one milk to share between us (couple) another 20 minutes goes by and no food to be seen, but plenty of people complaining and walking out. Another 10 minutes go by a still no food and absolutely no urgency of getting our food. I highly recommend NOT to stop off at this diner and travel a little further down the road to get a completely different and far superior experience, with friendly, welcoming staff and fast service!

Popped in on the off chance , best breakfast I've had in aroadside eatery for years. Great service, fast and very tasty, will be back when passing next time.

Having come out with my Dad and son as a treat, we thought we would try the OK Diner as we had never visited before. When we walked in we waited to be seated and were left for a few minutes and not acknowledged by a single member of staff. Eventually a young lady sauntered over and took us too a table. We were given menus and 10 minutes later another "happy enthusiastic" member of staff came over and took our order. I asked him how he doing and I was completely ignored. The food came out in a timely manner and it was three burgers and chips. The food was perfectly adequate but nothing special. When we were done and had tidied our table up, I waved at the young lady and asked for the bill. She came over and chucked the bill and card machine on the table and said "follow the instructions". No please, no thank you, no nothing. We wasted just shy of £50 here and will never be back after the awful service we received. For a speciality diner with plenty of passing trade, you should try much much harder.

Coffee machine was broken. Nit a good start as father inlaw was hoping for a capuchino. Food was OK but just OK nothing special. Milkshake was lovely.

Was shocked at the price of one piece of bacon. Could have bought a whole packet from the shop. That aside. Lovely food and reasonable portion sizes bacon aside.

I would not return. There is no option of takeaway cutlery. They told me it’s because plastic cutlery is illegal. As a food business owner I know the solution is wooden cutlery? Which is what I do. This diner offers absolutely no option; but they will allow you to order food to take out. And then tell you they don’t offer takeout cutlery. Surely you should tell a customer we will give you the food, but not provide any cutlery. Before allowing them to order takeout. No sugar on the tables of 2, only larger. No spoons on tables to stir coffee; only if you ask for one. For the price, poor value for money. I felt like I was an inconvenience to the staff. Not welcoming and not friendly.

Classic diner food as usual. Generous portions (as usual). Staff made us feel welcome (as usual).

Having been here before I was disappointed by the service today. Our order was taken quickly and the food was served in a timely manner. The black and blue burger lacked much sauce but the burger itself was tasty. The double cheeseburger also lacking in sauce and cheese. Nobody asked if the food was ok and I had to ask twice for the bill, waiting 10 minutes before I asked for second time. Disappointing today.

Stopped at the A1 southbound Diner just after Colsterworth. Waitress was very friendly and formal. Food was very nice and reasonably priced. Not particularly cheap but not expensive. Always wanted to visit an OK Diner, happy I've finally done it and will definitely do it again. 5 🌟.

Great diner. Order was taken correctly by the waitress but interpretated wrongly by the cooks. They rectified it quickly after we explained that we didn't want to wait any longer for food as it took quite a long time in the first place. Food was great and tasty, a fair price. Had to wait a long time for the milkshake, but again it was lovely when it arrived.

The place is not as welcoming as its used to be ,service was very slow and food is not as good as it used to be.

Freezing cold - aircon blasted the table we were sat at. Slow service too - I think it might have been staff change over?

Pitstop on the way back from the Peak District. A friendly welcome as we entered. Great milkshakes, food was good and well presented. Service was quick. Will be stopping there again.

My daughter wanted a milk shake So it seemed like the perfect place for such a beverage. I didnt want to go to one of the usual fast food restaurants as they are always such a disappointment. I was apprehensive but i thought we would give ok diner a try. Well stone me it was great! milkshakes were superb, creamy, rich with plenty of flavour. Not sweet either. Burgers great, service friendly. Would go again

I have visited OK Diners for a number of years and have always enjoyed the atmosphere, food, and especially the Milkshakes .

Stopped off for a pit stop en route down south as we’d passed OK Diner many times on the A1 and were curious to see what it’s like. Inside is decked out in Americana and has diner-style booths which are quite cool. Staff were v quick and friendly Menu was very extensive with lots of breakfast, burger, and dessert options. We went for the breakfast burger and pulled pork hash. Both meals were decent quality for the price and definitely filled us up, such that we didn’t have room for dessert - but would like to try one of them because the menu looked great. Pretty decent and well priced for a roadside restaurant, would probably visit again when travelling and don’t fancy the standard drive-thru options.

The server didn't know the deals that were on, so we ended up overpaying. There was a hair in the burger, and the server just said "sorry." The tables were clear but were sticky. Would I use this again? NO. The one on the northbound A1 is fantastic. You wouldn't believe they are run by the same company.

Had a lovely American-style bacon cheese burger and I could well have been in America, except it didn't cost me an arm and a leg to get there!

thought this place was closed when we arrived just four couples. one waitress But staff standing about, food only just cooked. The music nothing to do with how American diner's are. Would I visit it again No.

The server didn't know anything about the deals they had. So we ended up overpaying. My wife found a hair in her dinner and told the server. She said, "Sorry," and that was it. The one near Newark North bound was completely different. Would I use this OK diner southbound again? No.

Forty minutes for fried eggs, beans and toast, which was all cold! Restaurant was quiet but frustatingly slow service. Used to be much better.

We normally use another hol diner going in the opposite direction which is really good and we go to often. This motivated us to try this out. Unfortunately our experience was somewhat different. It took us an age to get our order in a near empty restaurant. We were beyond food when it arrived together with our drinks. The food was ok but we had all lost interest and was now late for our destination...still some 2 1/2 hours away. All in all a pretty miserable experience for the whole family...as least we paid..the man next to us left his meal presumably without paying! All together we were in the restaurant for over an hour.

On a long drive up the A1, this was a destination preferable to other service areas. Lovely, welcoming service, jolly surroundings and every item of our food order cooked perfectly. Thank you.

I did stop calling here after an unpleasant experience when i asked for avocado on toast without an egg. The avocado was a smear, less than butter, and i was still charged for the egg. I was pleased to learn the now serve vegan options including oat milk and will start using them again.

When you can't even clean the cups properly you know your in for an afternoon of pain, If divorce was a meal this would be it.

Used to stop at these diners on the A1 all of the time to have a very nice coffee and a good American style dinner but havnt been since lockdown...so when the chance came to stop at one the other day i was overjoyed, however once inside was quite disappointed, the coffee is now the same as everywhere else and the menu is basically anything that can be heated up in a turbo oven or microwave, the diner has lost its uniqueness and I won't be rushing back anytime soon

I have used ok diners before, but I won't use this one again. Servers were friendly and professional, but unfortunately, a young man behind the counter wasn't. He first attracted my attention by swearing whilst talking to another young man. He then proceded to wipe this nose and continued to prepare food without washing his hands.

Order was wrong, plate food served on was dirty underneath. We didn't eat in the end but did pay for our drinks

Had the cajun chicken under the hot sandwiches on the menu for 12.95 comes with fries and a drink. Well worth the money and was delicious. I would definitely recommend

Ordered pancakes and bacon. Food arrived and there was literally one piece of streaky bacon. I sent it back as the portion sizes have definitely shrunk and that it had been a mistake. The food was returned with a comment from the manager "That is the portion " - £1.85 for a tiny piece of bacon?! Used to love coming here, love the music, the servers and the food, but won't be returning.

Enjoyed the food and the service is prompt and friendly enough. As a road side diner you can't really expect a bubbling atmosphere and there isn't one. Good, but expect to pay a fair amount as it's no McDonald's pricing system.

Better than OK, this was a welcome stop on our journey south on the A1. Generous portion sizes and a kindly welcome made for an enjoyable meal, although I thought the burger was a little overdone so as to dry out the patty slightly. The hot dogs are excellent, and I would say they're the best part of the main menu. Fries are OK, but there's nothing to get excited about. The milkshakes are very good. We also shared a side of dirty rings. The portion was very large and tasty, though the chilli was a bit light on the meat. Overall, I'd definitely go again. I'd have a shake every time I go, and I'd probably upgrade my fries to curly fries. I'm not sure I would have a burger - or if I did, I would ask for it to be cooked for a few moments less than normal.

Food felt pre packaged, big bad prices, no american portions, mix grill is just egg, cheap bad sausage, unseasoned burger patty and a tiny bit of bacon.

After years of driving up and down the A1 and seeing these restaurants up and down the motorway, I finally found the time to stop at one. The service we received was to a reasonably high standard, but the food was extremely disappointing. For an American diner, I had higher expectations. But they weren't met. We all left that restaurant disappointed and wishing we had chosen somewhere else to eat.

Left the place fuming and not want to go back. Service was poor, a family came in maybe 10mins after we sat down and they were served before we were which is when I chased a server down to take the order. I asked for a non meat toastie, even opened the menu and pointed at it to make sure I got it right what to say, then comes a beef burger. I said I ordered the toastie equivalent, then the chef comes looming over and says I ordered it, “Is that okay?”. I wobbled okay because about 15mins before a very large group of people came in to be seated and they were being told where to sit because sections had been cleaned for closing time even though it was about 2hrs until closing. I didn’t want to be a difficult person because I knew they were probably stressed with all those extra people, but I’m a veggie! I felt like I was the one having the finger pointed at causing the problem, they can’t do no wrong, but once I left I thought why would I say a burger when I don’t eat meat! So I just took the patty off and gave it to my partner, I was really not impressed, I just wanted to leave.

Wanted Pancakes and Bacon - but lukily I asked if they made the pancakes from batter or if they were the pre-packed sort (YUK YUK YUK) - I was told they were pre-packaged, so I said thanks, and left.

Fairly packed when we arrived. Staff did their best. Slow service though as a result. Decent prices for decent portions. Awkward to get to if northbound.
