Oink in Edinburgh, City of

Easily the tastiest pork sandwich I have had in my memory. I choose the sage and onion stuffing with apple sauce and every bite was delicious! Coming from the states and having had a lot of pulled pork sandwiches, I was pleasantly surprised by how much better this is in comparison. Was curious about adding the stuffing but it resulted in an especially succulent result. I would not hesitate to return and if I lived in Edinburgh, this would easily replace my weekly lunches at Chick Fil A!

Sind auf Empfehlung von Instagram dort hingegangen und waren sehr zufrieden. Laden war recht voll deswegen frühzeitig dorthin, wen das Spanferkel leer ist gibts es nichts mehr. Es ist auf jeden Fall ein Besuch wert wen man in der Stadt ist. Es hätte mehr Soße drauf gekonnt, das Fleisch überdeckte den Geschmack der besonderen Soßen die es dort gibt

The male staff gave me attitude through out my order, very impatient and quite rude making my dining experience bad. I was looking at the menu trying to figure out how to order then the male staff gave me attitude and hurried me to make my mind up which bread I wanted. I had no idea what bread or what they offered. He was not impressed when explaining. He even interrupted when I was explaining the menu to my family, that was rude. The roasted hog meat was succulent but could do with more sauce as it was a bit bland.

Nice looking food when you walk in. Then you realise it’s just a small, medium or large morning roll that you get. Haggis and chilli jam was nice. The hog roast was wet and I mean wet. This made the roll soggy and made a mess of clothing. Not overly impressed and not disappointed

Even though it was fresh(you can see the pig being grilled) our group found it to be quite greasy and pricy for what you get

Tasty roll and we enjoyed but we were Disappointed portion size Was recommended to eat here as tasty and big portions Don’t know it the other oink outlets give more meat / crackling but this one small definitely not a grunter ! Tasty and friendly staff but won’t recommend if hungry !! Try another one may get more for ur money

I had a good, medium sized roll. Tasty meat and nice stuffing and sauce. The roll was a bit smaller than I expected for the price but I guess costs are going up for food place. I’d happily eat here again.

Panino davvero eccezionale con carne di qualità. Il locale ha pochi posti a sedere (una decina credo), ma il panino viene dato nella carta stagnola e può essere mangiato anche a passeggio. Assolutamente da provare!

Read the reviews and was looking forward to this. Unfortunately, the anticipation was better than the meal. Not to say the pulled pork burger was bad - it was just a little bland, even with mustard mayo, while the skin was cold and not crispy at all. I had the medium, while tHe missus ordered the piglet. We did pay for the set, to pair it with a ginger beer and a shortbread. For those who are having a party, they can order a leg for 99 pounds.

These sandwiches won't disappoint, they are the very best! The pork is so tasty, you can customise your sandwich the way you want. Fairly priced too. Dine in or takeaway available. Must try for any pork lovers! You can even add crackling into your sandwich!

Quick place to grab a bite to eat. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was our first time going, so she was very patient and suggested a few options we could try. We settled on the pork bun with chili jam and haggis spread. Absolutely lovely! Definitely would recommend for anyone going through the city, especially since there are three different branches.

We previously went to the Canongate outlet. So pleased to see they are open in Hanover Street. This is seriously GREAT pulled pork! You select your bun, your stuffing and your sauce. Three sizes available from £3.95 - £6.80! Yum, yum, yum. Perfect for lunch! Highly recommended!

Very nice selection and fairly generous portion, obviously limited for vegetarians so thankfully that isn't an issue. We found the experience very pleasant and have been a couple of times for lunch. It definitely makes a nice change from meal deal sandwiches!

We were visiting Edinburgh and not knowing the area just randomly came across here and decided to to try it for lunch. We were so glad we did! It's just a simple but tasty concept at a great price. The pork was simply delicious. I think they have several in Edinburgh so definitely worth checking out!

Nothing like them anywhere else: they are just perfection! Still as good now as they were when then opened. My husband and I love them so much they even catered our wedding (and did an excellent job!).

Great sandwich. Sandwiches come in small, medium or large. When they ask if you wants a cracklin it is basically a pork rind with a little flesh.

Little shop off the main drag but well worth the trip. Various size of serving and toppings. Great taste experience. Try the haggis and apple toppings.

Oink has quite the reputation in Edinburgh and more than lives up to it. For £5.80 you can get a "grunter" (large) pulled pork sandwich with a selection of stuffings, sauces and the option of crackling on the side.

I went here 3 times and the food was always very delicious! The food is very good, and it’s a very good price for a solo traveler! Loved it!

Located in the centre of the city, this small shop has plenty to offer for a hog roast such as size, filling and sauce. The roast itself was fantastic- the oink size sandwich is highly recommended as it was filling enough for less than £5. On the sandwich i had sage and onion stuffing, apple sauce and crackling while my boyfriend had the grunter which was the biggest sized sandwich that came in at less than £6 and had haggis and bbq sauce. The shop itself is small so i would suggest taking your sandwich elsewhere. The pork itself was very juicy and i would definitely make a return visit, although could be considered a little pricey for a sandwich.

There are two or three Oink shops in Edinburgh, and I've been to this particular one a couple of times - so far it has not disappointed. It's small, but conveniently located and perfect for a quick bite. You can have the pulled pork served on either white or brown bread (if they haven't run out), and with a selection of toppings/sauces. If there's some left, do get a bit of crispy skin too, it's delicious! I'm not sure what the shop's opening times are, but the pork is often finished by early afternoon, so it's best to get there at lunchtime. You might be able to stay and eat in, but if it's too busy you can also buy it as take-away (equally good!). The staff are friendly, there's usually music playing in the background, and as a location it's extremely close to Princes Street. Final note: there's no toilet in this Oink (at least when I last visited), while I think there is in the one at Canongate. Will definitely come again.

Nos lo recomendaron así que decidimos darnos una vuelta, tienen 2 ubicaciones, una en el antiguo centro y otro en el nuevo. Al entrar nos pareció muy sencillo todo, hay pocas opciones y todas involucran algún producto de cerdo.

Decided to eat this with my hub for lunch. He had an oink sandwich (medium size) whilst I got a hog in a box. We both chose sage and onions along with apple sauce. Very tasty! Get the crackling skin too because it was so crispy! Yum yum. The place itself is very small. If it isnt crowded, you can get a seat inside. Otherwise, buy and takeaway.

Es el típico sitio dónde comer rico y bien si vas con prisas. Me gustó el concepto tan original de bocadillo de cerdo con carne deshilachada expuesto en la cristalera del local. Existen diferentes tamaños y variedades de pan y salsas. Hay un menú con patatas de bolsa y bebida por 6,5£. Es más para "take away" ya que apenas hay espacio para comer.

The pulled pork rolls are available in 3 sizes: piglet, oink and grunter, or if you prefer without the bread rolls, you could order the Hog in a Box. You can opt for a bit of crackling with your rolls, definitely opt in, the cracklings are crispy and tasty!
