Oh My Cod Fish Bar in Hastings

Cod was fresh, really tasty, perfectly cooked, and chips were really good too. Also portions were really generous. Friendly staff, would definitely recommend.

A very helpful place saved a bad night of a 60th Wedding Anniversary which went wrong. Completed 14 fish and chips at 10.20pm at night. Thanks again for helping me out.

Miedum cod and chips £8 Chips old and dried out. Medium cod like large fish finger.dry very very poor food.NEVER AGAIN

The worst chips and mushy peas ever... The peas weren't cooked and tasted grainy. The chip oil hasn't been changed in a while and the chips were very smelly from the old oil. I gave them to the foxes and ordered a new meal from Deep Blue which was loads of better.

Nice chips, cold soggy battered cod and a rude owner that serves them. Medium cod and chips on the board showed £8 but then I got asked to pay £9.20, which is very expensive considering the poor quality. I pointed this out and he stated that I hadn't said small chips to him and it was too late for him to take them out of the paper they were wrapped in now. Not a place with very good customer service as he was quite rude and there to money grab it seems, which is unusual and Hastings customer service in shops and restaurants is amongst the best experiences I've ever had.

We only wanted a small lunchtime fish and chips to take us through to our main evening meal. Usually we buy a fish and chips from somewhere and share it out between us. They offer a small fish and chips here, so thought ordering 2 of those for a similar price would be better. Big mistake the 2 pieces of fish would probably have been the size of half a regular fish. They were probably only an inch wide and really greasy. At least the chips were OK

My cod, stay away. Chips are the worst I've ever had, battered sausage wet and cold. Will not order from here again

Disgusting!!! First off, only half the order arrived. Secondly it was not as ordered. Salad in halumi burger and chicken burger was brown and slimy. Halumi burger was the cheepest thing going. Definitely not £7 worth in looked more like a McD 99p burger and no grilled peppers. Don't pother, there's so much better quality and value wise on the sea front

Absolutely shocking. First of all in this town there are dozens of traditional chippy. This chips shop was amazing when the former owner was running the show. Karem had class with his food. Unfortunately the new owners are so 😕 we'll... uneducated on what traditional fish and chips should be. Me and my family were left appalled after ordering 2 fish and chips and a kids fish and chips meal. First of all the mushy peas was like water 💧 no peas just the juice lol. Curry sauce was half full and barely warm. Garden peas was a table spoon in a 75cl Co tainer. Chips were soggy and the fish batter fell off the fish before it got to the plate. This town needs good food. 👍 this is NOT the place... avoid avoid avoid if you don't want a dodgy belly . I'd rate 0 if possible but Google are very generous .

This is the worst fish and chips i ever tasted in my life wasn't cooked fresh even though we waited ages.Tasted like refried food from a couple of days ago. Adult and 3 kids portions all ended up in the bin. Where they got their Observer food rating from only God knows

Fish was freshly cooked so the batter was crisp and the fish perfect underneath. I ordered the small fish but it was plenty for a full meal with a generous portion of chips. Friendly service. I'd be happy to return.

I treated my girlfriend to a take away, what a Disappointment this was, wrong order turned up, extra thick under cooked batter, what fish inside was slimy, says something when even the sea gulls won’t eat it, had terrible diarrhea this morning hence this review, £17.50 just to feed to wild life, I feel cruel now trying to feed it to the gulls,

Total poor chips, under cooked and small cod rubbish, fish finger would have been bigger.

Worst food ever from this place, won't be back.. Chips were dreadful and uneatable, looked like salad potatos had been used to make chips instead of normal potatoes, savloy was chewy and the battered sausage looked like it had been dipped for a few seconds in batter.. asked for our money back but the answer was no.. won't be back here again..

I don't leave many reviews but very disappointed with this place. Chips had good portions but were absolutely horrendous, in the whole bag there was a mixture of raw, overcooked and stale chips, how is that even possible. I am the least fussiest person when it comes to fast food but this was honestly the worst food I have ever had from a chip shop.

Not happy I wanted 3 fish cake potatoe fish potatoe diped in batter n fryed and 2 large chips well got extra large and a cheap fish cake beans was out of date 17.60

Food was cooked well and arrived hot but please change your frying oil, everything completely covered in little black speckles that looks like soil, rather off-putting.

Nice fish. Cooked well. Batter was a bit rubbery, tasted like it had been sitting for a while. Sausages tasty but batter was the same. Chips good. Dirty floor in the entrance way needs cleaning.

Always get my dinner from here. Perfect size fish and very generous amount of chips. Was cooked fresh and tasted delicious. Also had burger and chicken for the family. They loved it. No place better 5star

We've ordered takeaway from Oh My Cod quite a few times recently and we couldn't be happier with the quality of food, extensive menu, and very quick delivery. Compared to other fish and chip shops in the area, Oh My Cod tends to be a bit more expensive but the chips are much tastier and fresher, and the sausages, burgers, wraps and chicken nuggets are particularly good. We've tried a lot of fish and chip shops in the last 6 months but we won't need to look anywhere else again if the quality and service here doesn't dip. Highly recommended :)

Used oh my cod last night, the food turned up and the chicken inside the wrap could be rung out, it was that greasy and looked like a child had assembled it. The batter on the fish was waaaaaay overcooked and the fish inside was going hard. If you have any complaints, don't bother getting in touch with them as they don't get back to you. I would NOT use them again, waste of money

Ordered for the family, came on time and food was hot. Sizes where great everyone full up. Delivery drives was good and polite. Thank you will defo use again. Recommended highly

I paid 2 fish without french fries. and two 20 beers. a little too much rodicule. the fish gives oil and too much dough. and it smelled old. bad time .really bad x sorry m8

Last 3 times I've ordered the food has got steadily worse. Our last meal was so bad we all threw it out. Chips are horrible and fish is over cooked. Will not be going back again .

Food was tasty and hot. Delivery not good. Quoted 60 mins delivery time from 19.31.After phone call from me at 20.45, was told ''on it's way'' finally arriving at 21.03. Driver apologetic as short of drivers. Did not notify me of a problem even though they had both mobile number and e mail details. First time ordering ,not sure would repeat.

Overpriced . Very average portion sizes. Don't change oil very often. Does home delivery but does not deliver to most of Hastings and Saint Leonards on sea. Why even bother.

oh my God awful food 🤮delivered cold greasy the chips were cold hard non edible the fish had to be reheated the sausages soaked in grease £15.00 chucked away on vile food we tried to microwave it to at least have some of it vile never again 1st time I've ordered and my last 😠 this place I do NOT reccomend !!!!

The first and last time I order from this shop the meal was 20 minutes late when it did turn up it was greasy and cold it cost over £20 we had to reheat the fish in the microwave, this is scandalous when you pay for your takeaway it should turn up on time and hot beware people it may have been in the observer as a winner but definitely not in my eyes worst shop in hastings
