Restaurant at the end of the pier. Had teas and hot chocolates here after a lovely walk down the pier.

Oh dear … what an atmospheric -less place! High ceilings with operating theatre style lighting, benches and aluminium chairs, boring icecream area all adds up to an uninteresting cold place. A Hot chocolate with whipped cream and marsh mellows here costs a whopping £5.80 Whatttt!! A silly place to attract ..who? A family couldn’t afford to bring their kids here but an average family wouldn’t want to spend any time here either so who is this unenterprising place designed to attract.

My daughter, her 2 girls and myself had a quick snack here. The girls had cheesy chips and a sausage each. I had a toasted tea cake. All of which was lovely. The price was a bit steep I guess but, I suppose being at the end of the pier etc, made it dearer. Anyway, I would eat here again. Toilets were spotless and it was 4pm, so they obviously kept them clean.

Awful. Restaurant prices for supermarket cafe quality food. 45 minute wait for a milkshake which wasn’t mentioned at point of ordering. Worst cafe I’ve been to in many years. Views nice.

Came in to escape the biting chill and bracing wind. Stayed for a quick drink. Not a huge selection of drinks and were a bit pricey. Staff were ok. The tables weren't kept particularly clean. Nice views though and definitely good to get warmed up inside before heading back out.

Recently, I had an experience at Offshore, an airport dining spot. Although I only expected a quick meal before my flight, I found some aspects worth mentioning. The cleanliness of the place was good, which is crucial in a busy environment like an airport. Everything was in order, making for a hassle-free experience. One of the highlights was the friendliness of the staff, especially the girl in charge of cleaning the tables. Her attitude was extremely kind, adding a human touch to an otherwise impersonal experience. Additionally, all the staff were friendly and attentive, enhancing the overall atmosphere of the place. However, when it came to the food, my burger was quite mediocre. It didn't meet my expectations. Despite this, the positive attitude of the staff made the experience not entirely negative. In summary, Offshore is a place with good cleanliness and a friendly team, but the quality of the food could be improved. A mixed experience with both strengths and areas for improvement.

Avoid. The untrained 12 year old staff forgot the drinks order then got it completely wrong. Chips were awful.

Popped in on our visit to the pier, service was quick and friendly. Food and drinks were hot and arrived promptly (we went midweek outside of school holidays). Only downside is food and drinks served in takeaway containers rather than a proper cup & saucer and plate.

If I could give no stars I would. Really awful food, overpriced and bland. Save your money and get cheaper on the shore for what I know is much better. Tried on a whim, lesson learned. Won’t be back and certainly will not recommend to anyone except maybe people I don’t like! It’s a real shame, if the food was up to scratch combined with its location it could’ve been amazing.

Myself and two friends went for a ride on the pier train and to have some pie and mash. The restaurant is really spacious with lots of comfortable seating with amazing views. We ordered our food and drinks which was served really quickly and piping hot. My two friends had liquor with their pie and mash which they said was a little bit thick and not enough so the waitress quickly gave them a pot with some more liquor in it. Service was really good and the staff were efficient and friendly. I can highly recommend their smoothies, they are really delicious. Would definitely go back there again.

Had the worst experience yesterday at offshore restaurant. The food is such low quality for the prices they charge. Its a very unprofessional environment with very young staff, that quite clearly haven't been given training. Management should really be supporting them. Unless something drastic changes, I can see this restaurants going under. Such a shame as the building is beautiful with the sea view etc. Won't be returning. Good luck

Well...where do I start.... I went here today with my family and we ordered 4 drinks and 4 meals... The price nearly gave me a heart attack.. £74.89!!! I was expecting some good food but when it arrived....this was 5 scampi bits and chips, one portion of chips, two coronation sandwiches, 2 milkshakes,.... The milkshakes were warm like the milk had been left out... The food was terrible I wouldn't feed it to my dog.. They messed up our order 3 times to the point I asked to speak to a manager...along came a young girl with a I don't care attitude who offered to refund me £8.75 off of my bill... She then went and sat down with two members of staff and a man... Unfortunately without going into to much detail the staff were staring at us including the man... obviously talking about us so I got quite annoyed so the restaurant went very quiet for a while... Anyway regardless of the extremely bad service...dirty tables and floors...and the toilets ..wow....just wow... I would extremely suggest for someone who owns this place and said to me he owns alot of business and won this property.... You need to have a real think about the staff u hire they need alot of training and the food is severely overpriced and absolutely disgusting. I've had a better meal from Iceland for a quid. Will not be returning to this place even if they paid me.

We went to try the pie n mash. My son and I had two pie two mash and liquor. I asked if they had vegetarian pies as I knew manzies do them. The answer was “I don’t know “. Not a good start from the staff selling the food. So my wife ordered the vegan sausage roll and chips. A wine, a tea and a banana milkshake. Bill was almost £53. When I gave her the cash she said we don’t have much change as we prefer card. We’ll cash was all I have so take it or leave it. Waited 20 mins for food. Despite the wait and the sign saying all food is cooked fresh it was cold and pie n mash looked like it had come out of the freezer in to the microwave. Worst I’ve ever had. After we finished eating my son got his milkshake brought over. Only it was strawberry! The woman looked at the order and said I can re make it. No we already waited over 30 minutes for it. Sorry but this place needs management and staff training. You are not cheap so don’t do things cheap. I won’t be coming back.

We all thoroughly enjoyed the new menu item = traditional pie, mash & liquor supplied by Manzes of Tower bridge road London. Staff great, comfortable restaurant, lovely position at the wet end of the pier. A great experience for 3 experienced pie & mash with green liquor fanatics.

Café on the end of South End Pier. Brightly decorated with views over the sea. We only had coffee/hot chocolate which were nice. Plenty of seating and the staff were quick to clear a table for us. Family friendly place.

After a wonderful walk to the end of the pier at the weekend I treated my 2 grandsons to a ice cream they both wanted 2 scoops which I agreed to as we visit Rossi’s very regularly and that what they have. But when I went to pay and she said £15.40 WHAT!!!!!!! So over priced and no price list on Show anywhere this is how they get you as I think if they had a price list no one would buy the ice cream I certainly will never use them again. I did say your very lucky they have both licked them or you would have had them back Outrageous price for a ice cream 🍦

Terrible place. Food is overpriced and poor quality. I hope you're not hungry, because you'll be waiting for ages for the food to arrive. Please note: there is a fake review on here - it's the one about having a delicious tuna crunch sandwich.

Met with my sisters to walk the pier and have fish and chips for lunch. The venue is modern and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The food however was awfull. I ordered 3x fish and chips, 2 teas and a mint tea. £52.85. What was served was oven cooked frozen fish (overdone) and chips with sides of curry sauce, baked beans and mushy peas. It was terrible. Being at the seaside you would expect the fish to be fresh at least and not frozen fish you buy from a supermarket. A complete rip off. Did see a seal looking at us as we walked the 1.23 miles of pier though

Young and vibrant staff who are helpful and friendly. Great selection of snacks after a mile walk to the other end of the pier. They also cater to gluten free diets and made a tuna crunch sandwich that was one of the best I’ve ever had. Great day out.

Myself and my daughter came here on 6th September, we ordered 2 x coke that came in a tiny plastic cup that you have at a kids party, 1 mouthful and it’s gone, my daughter ordered a coronation chicken Chen sandwich that comes with crisps and a salad, there was no salad but still charged me the full price, I did query this but no luck, my daughter bit into the sandwich and was heaving, she said it didn’t take like coronation chicken and the bread was stale along with the crisps, I took back and told them but didn’t care, I ordered a chocolate waffle it came covered in squirty cream that looked like sick was absolutely awful, £17 in the bin, don’t eat here, my daughter was throwing up all the way home, I’ve reported it to health & safety and will be getting my money back

as we arrived to our table we noticed it had beer spilt all over it so we had to move, the next table wasn’t any better as it had old coffee and napkins on it. the food wasn’t as good as what i expected. i ordered a halloumi salad which came very dry and the waitress actually dropped 2 halloumi sticks onto the table apologised and continued serving without offering a cleaner portion of halloumi.

After being gruffly told to go to 'The Pavilion' (Offshore Restaurant) by the blatantly rude and unengaging young women at Tea by the Tide, my Father and I were delighted by their recommendation. How kind of them and what amazing business acumen they showed by sending customers away to their competitors! I would highly recommend the Offshore Restaurant and would beg you to dismiss the recent bad reviews. The staff were super happy to be there and we were given such a warm welcome. It may have just been a flat white coffee and a superb yorkshire tea, but it hit the spot perfectly. Being served fresh milk was also unexpected and greatly appreciated. At a mere £5.80 i would say it's pretty good value for money for a World famous tourist attraction. The seating area was bright, clean, comfortable and had a fantastic vista of Southend. Thank you very much to your fantastic team. See you again soon!

Food is overpriced, portions are small, cafe is dirty. I ordered a tuna crunch sandwich - supposed to have onions and peppers in it, was given a poor quality tuna mayo sandwich, which is not even on the menu. Comes with a tiny little side salad and a few crisps and served in a cardboard box. £6.50 for what looked like a school packed lunch. Didn’t bother saying anything as we’d already waited about half an hour for our food.

If called a restaurant and given cost I do not think unreasonable to expect food to be served on a plate with cutlery and drink in a glass. Scampi and goujons over priced and served in cardboard box. May as well just go to take away, spend less and get proper chips rather than a hand full of frozen ones. After spending good money on over priced food the door to toilets was locked and asked to walk around corner and use portaloos on pier. It was closing time but not way to treat customers. I would definitely not go back

Out on my bike and just needed a snack to stop the worms biting. Ordered a quarter pounder with onions and mustard. That’s exactly what I got, no fancy frills, just what I ordered….. how refreshing and at £4.50, much more reasonably priced than the cafés across the road. The burger was cooked fresh as were the onions, and the bap didn’t fall apart. Friendly service too, what more could I ask for? Very satisfied thanks.
