Offerton Fish Bar in Stockport

Been coming here for years with no problems but last two orders have been nearly fully cold, the fish wasn't cod as ordered, with items missing. Won't be bothering again will find a new chippy

Hot tasty food and generous portions of chips. Spot on once again.

Food was high standard. Batter on fish was perfectly crispy,not to thick and stodgy and fish good quality. Good size portion of chips. The irsh curry was something new and very delicious. Think we have found our new chippy 😀

Normally good but Ordered cheese and onion pie for vegetarian and got a chicken and mushroom pie instead

Food tasted stale and was lukewarm at best. Expensive and not great.

Chips wasn’t cooked at all still hard very greasy

Delivery never arrived - no comms to say so - just pointless extensions to the “delivery time” on the app…allegedly “courier at restaurant”…for two hours! Even when the place was closed!!! And when you call them no-one answers. NEVER order from here as they don’t fulfil the order and don’t even tell you they’re not going to - outrageous and shouldn’t pretend to be a good delivery co when they clearly aren’t.

Order was NOT delivered - no food arrived would NEVER order from here again.

The chips are absolutely beautiful taste so good

No gravy for chips and refused to send it out when complained.

Been going here for years but tonights fish..i think..was having it's 5th birthday under the hot counter..it batter hard and crunchy and the fish was sort of shrivelled up inside...chips were gr8 as always tho..

Usually enjoy a visit with the lovely friendly staff however on Sunday teatime 7/7/24 the young lady with dark hair in a bun was extremely ignorant to point I felt very awkward and a burden. No hello, please or thank you or a good bye, let alone not even a smile once. The food however was extremely delicious and the fish was cooked fresh as always. Must say as a regular I didn’t feel very welcome on this occasion and it has put me off going in again 😔

Go there for chippy tea for work a couple of times a month. The staff are always friendly and chatty, and everyone I buy for always enjoy their food.

This was an expensive portion of chips and gravy. Ordered meal deal 1 but got no sausage! A bit annoying but the food is good and delivery time.

Great fish and chips! I went here once for a late lunch, was a great piece of fish, large portions of chips and really tasty mushy peas. There’s a little bench area just around the corner from this chipper and I sat there people watching. Was a nice time.

Best fish and chips that I've had for years, nice size fish with lovely thin batter which never repeated on you and the chips were excellent. Will definitely be going back.

It arrived cold and the person delivering the food couldn’t find us,and when he phoned we couldn’t understand each other.he was polish and couldn’t understand a thing. I’m not happy, this country needs to get a grip it’s a joke. The Chippy owner knows the problem they just want your money.

The vegetarian meal was ruined as drowned in curry sauce

Been going here for years now, but just recently, every time we get chips, it's the scraps from the bottom, all hard and crunchy. I hate my chips like this, much prefer them chunky and juicy like they used to be. I'll give it one more shot, if no change then I'll be swapping my chippy to another one.

Won't be ordering from here again the battered sausages had skin on the sausages I hate the skin so sausages had to go in the bin waste off money only place who has skin on the battered sausages and I payed for a chicken an mushroom pie never got it

Food was fantastic, however the just eat delivery driver was disgraceful and rude, screaming down the phone that he wasn’t getting out of the car to take the food to the door!

Have bin using offerton fish bar for a couple of weeks Now…. Usually I pick it up but thought we’d have it delivered for a change….food was spot on and delivered on time…red hot… hottest take away we’ve ever had… best fish chips and curry I’ve had in a long time….chips are like proper, cooked

Beware of the hair seems to be a common issue here looking at other people’s reviews. Though to talk about everything I had, I thought that the cheese, and onion pie was well-cooked, and tasty. The mushy peas tasted weird, and were cold, and whilst I ate most of these chips, and they were tasty — one of the chips had a hair on it? Something I noticed immediately, and it seemed to have sunken into the chip itself — the only photos here, and the main reason that I’m writing this bad review as aforementioned — it couldn’t be scraped off either — shame as it would’ve otherwise been three star

Hot and delicious but sitting in oil

We couldn't fault the fish and chips except they were quite cold. Maybe they were wrapped up and left on the side waiting for the delivery man.

Not sure what’s going on with all the bad reviews. Prices are expensive these days but I think this chippy is good value for money. They do great deals, that are not expensive. Other places are a lot more expensive. You get a decent size portion. The food is always hot and freshly cooked. I like the food from here That’s why I’m a repeat customer 😊

sent 2 x peas instead of 2 x gravy but that's no big problem. 3rd time I've used them and I'm happy with their food.

Nearly £20 for fish chips and curry twice wouldn't even feed a toddler , and wasn't very nice either , used to be a good chip shop dnt know what happened but I feel robbed.

Prices are too expensive fish chips and peas £9:70 don't do small chips only one size gravy peas etc they say large NOT LARGE definitely won't go back there rather travel to marple GOYT CHIPPY ALSO BETTER QUALITY AND BIGGER PORTIONS 😉

Best Chippy around, we have never had a bad meal from here! Portions are massive, the fish is gorgeous, everything is always piping hot! Perfect English Chippy which speaks volumes as it’s always busy. Wayne and the girls are so friendly and chatty 10/10

Ordered large fish and chips and 2 fish cakes and 2 barm cakes ..the fish was small and both fish and chips were cold and not edible also got charged to two barm cakes only got one ..... Appalling steer well clear of this fish and chip shop

Just got a fish from there omg what a joke . Not even fresh . Or over cooked .never again will I go there . Don't waste your time or your money .

Absolute joke. Never turned up from a 6pm order. Wont be using just eat again. Rang the chip shop several times and it just rang out.

Very good service, except the drink I ordered (as part of the meal deal) was missing - otherwise everything else excellent.

The just eat system went down tonight, and we'd ordered a friday chippy as always. Offerton chippy is the best if you know you know. Top tier stockport chippy you won't be disappointed. The reason I'm reviewing tonight it because the system went down when our food was out for delivery. We spoke to them and they apologised (even tho it wasn't their fault!) And instead of sending the cold food on to us, they said it would be 20 minutes...remade the whole thing, and it was piping hot and spot on. Legends!

Arrived at 7:45 pm on a Sunday evening to be told that their not cooking anymore. The shop closes at 8pm. An absolute joke. I just traveled 10 mins too. Why open on a Sunday if your not going to serve your regular bread & butter customers?

I order from this takeaway a couple of times a week. On this occasion part of my order was x2 large chips and this is not what I received it was barely a regular sized portion of chips. Very disappointing!!

Driver went all around the houses. Lukewarm and the fish was chewy. Not a great experience

Missing item off my order, phoned constantly with no answer, eventually someone answered and just put the phone on the side so that it was constantly engaged after that. Just eat offered me a refund which I never received of my missing item. Check your order before the driver leaves... Won't order from there again

Food was hot and came on time but i ordered a kids nugget meal and got sent a sausage instead of nuggets.

My food was lovely as usual 5☆ service for quality and value

Went in for fish chips and curry and a can, charged £10/11, that was painful enough but I could forgive that if it was a decent portion... opened the box and it wasnt even half filled, could literally still the bottom of the box through my food. The fish alone was £5.60 and it was a small fish 💀 cant justify going back here. Spend over a tenner and still hungry!

For all the people that I have heard saying it's a good chippy so we tried it today and I will not be using it again as the fish and chips was not very good i will not be recommended for anyone to use now the owner doesn't like my comments on the poor quality of the fish and chips I wouldn't even feed any of the food to a dog

Awful, chips rubbery and cold, and £7.50 for what I can only describe as a Fisher finger on a diet. The only positive is that it was delivered quickly

Sorry but the fish and chips were not as expected. The fish was so thin, you could still see the imprint of the bones! Hardly any fish, just a layer of batter.( asked for lightly battered) Chips, well they looked and tasted 'steamed' so definitely cooked in advance and left in the drainer. Such a shame as it used to be fantastic. Won't go there again.
