New menu certainly not to my liking. Whole chicken? Wagu Beef? And the fish and chips I rodered was they most unappetising I have experienced for some time.

There was a party of eight with different food requirements - all of which were met with no trouble whatsoever. Everyone enjoyed their food and even booked the restaurant again the following day. It is a bit quiet in there but overall everyone said that they would return. Thanks for looking after us so well.

Stayed in the Apex Hotel for a week and had our breakfast at this place almost every morning. Great food and food service. They served English breakfast with quite so many options.

Not bad if you’re in the area but better options available if you’re willing to walk a bit further.

A nice fairly casual restaurant, with polite and friendly staff, and a fairly busy bar, particularly after work hours. Food was very nice, and portions sizes were pretty hefty, we both ended up with leftovers (a rarity). The triple-cooked chips were a particular delight.

Visited with a group of friends to celebrate my significant birthday and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Service was fantastic at all times and even tiny things we needed were accommodated. The food is on a special offer right now and we took advantage of the 50% off food. There is great choice on the menu and the wine list is extensive. Our booking was for 6 people and we were given one of the small private dining areas which worked perfectly for us. Thoroughly recommend this restaurant, part of the Apex Hotel in the City, for any kind of gathering at any time of the day.

Service was faultless and staff were really pleasant, friendly and helpful. Lovely attractive clean restaurant. However food was really ordinary - the bread tasted like a toasted sliced loaf and the meats were poor quality. Vegetarian dish was fine but totally unremarkable. We dined on a 50% discount offer but had we paid full price would have felt really hard done by.

This is the restaurant at the Apex hotel just south-east of the junction of London Wall and Moorgate. Always open, always pleasant, rarely crowded. Good food, friendly efficient service, perfect for a quite meal away from the crowds.

Without the half price food offer, this would have been really poor value. The service was truly dreadful. The first waiter, I assume, maitre d&#039;, was fine. Pleasant, chatty but didn&#039;t know if his bar had any sherry. The waitress was hopeless. I&#039;m going to say badly trained. She had been told to say &#039;you&#039;re welcome&#039; but appeared to have no idea what it meant. We asked for tap water as well as a bottle of wine but getting glasses refilled was pretty much impossible. However, she was very keen to top up the wine glasses. I could give a whole list of things. In the end, we asked for a short break before ordering dessert. We saw no staff after that, decided we didn&#039;t need dessert and had to ask at the bar for the bill.<br /> As a hotel restaurant it was pretty much deserted on a Saturday night, no atmosphere at all. The food was only ok.

Every time I order rib eye steak and triple cooked chips at lunch time. I’m told they do not have the triple cooked chips, only rosemary fries. Do they buy frozen food in? Surely if fresh, a potato is a potato so why fries and not chips?

Extremely disappointed with the food. Artichoke soup was tasty but portion was unbelievably small - only three medium size soups spoons were served ! The main was a Chicken, Mushroom and Tarragon Pie with steamed vegetables. The pie was tasteless! Very watery and hardly any chicken. House wines were below average. Still expensive for 50% deal for the food served. Booked table for 8.15pm for two peopl and they weren&#039;t ready for us, even though the place was 80% empty! At 10.10pm we were given the bill without asking for it! Wouldn&#039;t go back!

Disappointed that you didn&#039;t have my booking (internet) although I had brought my acknowledgement. I am a regular visitor to this restaurant on the ground floor of the Apex London Wall hotel. The food is unfailingly delicious, the service friendly and efficient. And there are regular special offers via Open Table!

Service was good, restaurant very quiet but it was a Tuesday night. Apart from Jerusalem Artichoke soup, food was decidedly dull. Overpriced for what it is.

It was a complete delight to find this restaurant: an oasis in the city. The food was great, the attentive service too. The beetroot salad starter and guinea fowl main course was excellent. The only thing that stopped me rating the food as 5 stars was that I felt the sticky toffee pudding was a bit overcooked/dry on the outside rather than succulent. It hardly marred a very fine evening eating there though.

We were super pleased with our Off the Wall restaurant visit. The staff were so helpful, and great at recommendations for those that weren't quite sure what they wanted. I went for the steak and eggs, and it was wonderful - literally the best steak I've had this year. The prices become well worth it when combined with a Tastecard. The only thing worth noting is that the wait staff service was pretty slow, and it was difficult to find someone at times despite there being almost literally nobody else there. It wasn't enough to tarnish the experience though, highly recommended

Christmas menu had a poor quality turkey main for the price of £35

I went to Off The Wall for lunch with some colleagues in December. Like many City restaurants, they take the opportunity to have expensive set-priced Xmas menus in December. I had herb-crusted salmon on crushed new potatoes that was quite tasty but my colleague had fish and chips which he said was disappointing and not worth the money. We had dessert, a hot drink and a glass of prosecco included but £39 a head still seemed expensive. I would have hoped for quicker service given that I only have limited time for a lunch break.

We had a really great dinner there. Lack of time we followed the offer from the hotel to enjoy their meals in their own restaurant. We did not get disappointed. Interesting starter: a plate of various international sausages. The main course (beef) was cooked to perfection. All in one: excellent! The staff was absolutely professional and attentive, helping its customers at any time. The ambiance of the restaurant: marvelous. We can recommend this restaurant for sure!

Two of us dined with the 50% off food offer. Both the main course (steak) and puddings were well good. The sticky toffee pudding was excellent, avoiding a cloying sweetness. The venue was quiet and we could hear ourselves think. Service was attentive. With the discount the meal was reasonable value.

Looks nice, decor good but food is really poor. Service was friendly, professional and efficient. Restaurant was not busy. Food 1. Starter - Slow cooked Ox Cheek £10. This is clearly from a microwave or boil in a bag, it was freezing cold in the middle, sent it back. Got a replacement that was tough as they had clearly microwaved the new one for a little bit too long. Poor considering you pay £10. Waitress came and took my second Oxcheek away after I had "finished" and asked if we would like to see the desert menu.....Errr no we would like to eat our main courses please? 2. Main Rib -Eye and Sides £32 - Steak was good to be fair, triple cooked chips were poor and were left. It is not difficult to do triple cooked chips, you can prepare them in advance and then just fry them to order at a high temperature to crisp them up. Obviously cooked at too lower temperature, soggy and not crispy at all. Really basic stuff, so really poorly cooked. Carrot and spinach sides were good. 3. Dessert - Hot Chocolate Fondant and vanilla ice cream £7. What would you expect from this menu description? A nice chocolate fondant and a sensible amount of vanilla ice-cream to go with this? Me too......... What I actually got was a tiny chocolate fondant (of the brought in variety and not made in house) a tiny, pre-balled and rock hard piece of vanilla ice-cream with a mountain (in comparison to the other things on the plate) of pistachio crumb. No pistachios mentioned on the menu? I returned it saying I was intolerant to nuts and they KINDLY pointed me to the clauses at the bottom of the menu that state "food is prepared in a kitchen where nuts may be present and that their menu descriptions do not include all ingredients" WOW........ I understand not listing the eggs, flour, cocoa powder etc etc that goes into a chocolate fondant for example BUT IF THERE ARE 3 COMPONENTS ON A PLATE 1. CHOCOLATE FONDANT 2. VANILLA ICE-CREAM 3. PISTACHIO CRUMB THEN YOU MUST PUT THE PISTACHIO ON THE DESCRIPTION SURELY?!! I would be wary of ordering egg on toast for breakfast, just in case it came covered in beans using their attitude to menu descriptions :-) So in summary, 3 courses, sent 2 back and only ate part of the main. They microwave meat and cannot even be bothered to scoop you out fresh ice-cream when they serve desserts and I think that says it all. Only just 2 stars because of the service and the steak. Would I return? - My god NO!

I am staying at the hotel and decided to just eat here for their advertised happy hour special but when I sat down and asked two separate people (even showed them the website offer) they said it's not available anymore. That's misrepresentation. and you have to wave people down for any service.

Visited recently as a party of eight for a special occasion. We shared one menu and had decided on drink and food by the time the waiter/ress had brought more menus and still insisted on putting them by every person on the table. We ordered drinks; nothing too complicated but one soft drink was missed and after waiting, had to remind them of this. The food was superb and very filling. They had run out of one of the deserts, even though it was lunchtime and only two other tables (of two) were occupied at the same time as us. We were not impressed that a 12.5% service charge had been added to the bill. The service was definitely not worth it. A tip is meant to reflect your individual experience and should be at the discretion of the patron not the restaurant. Had it just been the two of us, we would have deducted the tip and left a more appropriate one. As there were 8 of us and it was a special occasion, we let it go this time. Not happy about it though and as a consequence will not go back.

INCREDIBLE VALUE FOR MONEY ON THE LUNCH TIME SET MENUE! £23.50 for two courses in a swanky central London restaurant! Food was delicious! Came here to celebrate myself and my boyfriends graduation. Highly recommend. Friendly staff however sometimes there was a slight error in words due to accents however it’s still an amazing find and I’m so happy I booked it! 100% would recommend and would definitely go back

Always very quiet at lunchtimes but that’s why I go here! Excellent food and service and I can relax away from my business office with friends for an hour!

Just had 1.5 scallops as a starter for £12!! Chef had cut the scallops in half (3 halves in a small pool of pea puree with a tiny sliver of bacon). When I complained, the waiter said that the chef is trying to present food in a different way...clearly the 'different way is about conning the customer into thinking they have 3 scallops!

Brilliant touch down spot and the management and team, cool and superbly helpful. Only downside is zero mobile signal on two major networks in the building (the blue one and the red one) but oddly back to 4 G right out of the door.

Everything was excellent. The lamb in particular was some of the best lamb I have had. Very polished cooking and service.

What a good choice this restaurant was. The staff were genuinely helpful and respectful. We felt very relaxed. We enjoyed drinks in the bar area (and we can recommend the rosé), before the waiter helped us move to our table that was quiet and we really benefited from the lack of noisy music, so the four of us could chat without shouting to be heard. <br />We chose a deal (with Open Table) to have 50% off our meals, so we could choose from the al a carte menu. We all enjoyed our starters and meals. The portions aren&#039;t too big, so didn&#039;t feel over-full after three courses. <br />I really liked that we had cloth napkins. <br />The bathroom was clean and lush and I enjoyed the walk to stretch my legs between courses. <br />This restaurant is about 20 minutes walk from the Tate Modern, about the same to Shorditch and it&#039;s easy to get to Bank station (and on to Waterloo).

We went on a work lunch with the 3 courses for £24 offer . The service was a bit disappointing as when we told the waiter about an issue with the food, we were questioned instead of being offered an apology despite this being an overall issue as the table next to us had query the same with the waiter. We also told the waiter at the beginning that we have booked this through Open table but they marked our booking as non-attended. The rest of the food was nice and overall it was an ok experience.

I suppose it doesn’t come as a shock that a happy smiling reception at a restaurant will make for a good experience.<br />To be honest, this hotel based restaurant was bland in design and the food was adequate.<br />But the experience was made most enjoyable by the staff.<br />Well done.

Soulless - absolutely nothing about this place makes me want to go back - nothing wrong with it but epitome of average - “beige”

A really lovely meal in a GREAT restaurant in a very central yet quiet location. Food was absolutely delicious and I am Gluten Free yet there was still plenty of choice. We took the £20 for two courses offer which is a real bargain as its just a smaller menu than the a la carte. Nice choice of wine at reasonable prices too. The service was exceptional , very friendly and helpful. Not many people so it was fairly quiet in terms of ambience but once people find out about this place I am sure it will be mega busy. I will come back and make this my new usual dining spot when meeting friends after work.

A nice restaurant. Not too busy so ideal for a business meal.

A mixed review, our welcome was a little chaotic, no one takes your coats and it took several attempts to explain we were on the top table special offer, the salmon starter was exceptional, but the mushroom arrancini had no mozzarella and very little flavour. Steaks were very good but the sides were overpriced and very small portions.

One of our starters wasn’t quite as described - it was supposed to be mini sausages wrapped in bacon on a puff pastry. There was no pastry. The two 28 day old steaks were very disappointing. Very pale in colour and not tender. Certainly not worth the money. The whole meal was not worth the rather pricey bill.

Recently met up here to catch up with very good friends. It’s quiet and just what we needed to be able to enjoy our food and hear each other talk.<br />The food was wonderful and really good portion size, we even had enough to take home. The brisket was delicious.

Dined here with my partner and while they had a deal on, and we both loved it!! Pretty hidden in the middle of liverpool street but their food was great - the pork belly was our favourite. It&#039;s very well decorated but the lighting made it really dim in most places but really bright if you&#039;re sat under it. Decent priced food even without the deal and servers were great with recommending dishes and drinks

Very close to the city but the area is very quiet on a Saturday night. With 50% off the a la carte menu it was good value but when we were asked if we wanted water, expecting (free) tap, were presented with two bottles at £5.25 a pop which wasn&#039;t mentioned at the time. The food was a bit underwhelming. The crab and avocado starter seemed quite bland and not very pleasant, the sharing pulled pork buns were quite sweet and rather tasteless. The sea bass main verged on overcooked, the only nice bit was the crushed potato. Desserts were equally unmemorable.<br />Fairly quiet and relaxed with attentive staff but I don&#039;t think I will be rushing back.

Went to Off the Wall with a friend for a catch up after going to the cinema. Food was excellent and service was great and the 50% off made a big difference. It&#039;s an hotel restaurant which is not on a main road, so foot fall is very low. It was very quiet when we got there at around 18:30 but the tables got fuller throughout the night. It was nice to not have loud music blaring out so we could have a proper chat without shouting. One downside is that the drinks are fairly expensive, but even so I would still go back.

I enjoyed my meal. Very good value on the special offer. Good to be able to have a conversation over dinner. Some places are just too noisy!

I took a date to this place partly because there was a 50% off on the bill offer and also due to its location which is close to Liv street station.<br />I was pleasantly surprised to see a very classy decor, looks like somewhere spies meet up dinner and drinks. <br />The aspect of the experience i would give the highest ratimg to is the service, very charming and friendly waiter, he gave great recommendations and kindly told us what wasnt available at the moment, likewise for the bartender, great friendly service, i couldn&#039;t express how good the service was, added great value to the experience.

The mission was to have lunch with a baby. The restaurant welcomes babies and offers baby chairs to accommodate; although telling us people were starting to complain was not so constructive :) Food is good, atmosphere cosy, service efficient. Good bread!

Don&#039;t let the city types outside put you off, it&#039;s quiet and different inside, the cooking is workmanlike and tasty although the chips need a dollop of ketchup to make them taste of something (ketchup).

La estancia de pollo y gambas de arranque inicial eran suculentos, aromáticas y perfectamente cocinado y las rayas que siguieron eran de morir. Un montón de espacio en la mesa y un buen ambiente tranquilo en todo el restaurante y un bar.

We met friends at Bank Station and pop round to the Off the Wall Restaurant for Breakfast. Brilliant breakfast doing poached eggs to perfection. Well worth the effort if you are in this area

He comido previamente y tuvimos una cena maravillosa y estoy encantado de decir que no me decepcionó esta vez! El personal es muy amable. Estoy deseando comer allí de nuevo.

We had a lovely meal here and was looked after by the wonderful maitre&#039;d Ildiko. There was some confusion initially about the OT cheque and our booking however we were handled professionally and the booking was honored. They even offered us complimentary dessert for as compensation for the mix up. Fantastic deal on with 50% offer. Needless to say we will be back.
