Superb. In an area awash with wonderful dining options, this elegant restaurant stands out. It's about meat - grilled steaks in the main - so if that's your thing, a visit to Gaucho, Chancery Lane, will be memorable and in a very good way. A colleague and I popped in here last week with no reservation. We received a very warm welcome form the hostess who found us a lovely table and we were served by a very competent, patient and attentive waitress. We needed some help with the menu - there are lots of steak options, so the waitress arrived with a large slate of the cuts of meat to help us understand all that was available. Clever. And its not often you're served your meal by a final-year Neuroscience student. The hostess and our waitress, Carmen, are proof that your front line is your bottom line in the hospitality business. Wine was great too - a Malbec I think, in keeping with the steaks. The dining room is lovely, elegant and very relaxing, there is sufficient space between the tables to afford privacy - often a criticism and you can see the chefs work their magic. There is a private dining room id you so wish too. The toilets are immaculate. Unless you have a stretchy credit card, this place will be a special occasion rather than a weekly drop-in. But it is now on my hit list if I particularly want to impress someone! Than you to all who made an otherwise tough business dinner so enjoyable.

Usually normal. But don’t make a mistake. If you see a big company inside, don’t enter :))) staff will forget about you. My experience is spent more than 30 minutes to wait opportunity to pay… two times more than enough for this place… unfortunately.

Disappointed with the pre theatre meal. The sirloin steak was small, sinewy and fatty. Not a pleasant experience overall. Shame as the waiter was very pleasant.

We were welcomed and hosted so well. Our waitress, Karmen, was super attentive, polite and engaging. We had a really productive business lunch and the service complimented it perfectly.

We were the only couple in the restaurant for lunch, so service was very attentive! Food was usual excellent Gaucho standard. Only complaint was the main arrived literally five mins after we had finished our starter, could have done with a little more time in between

Gaucho was recommended to us by concierge in our hotel. It was great joice. Table host presented beef board and made wine recommendation. Very attentive but not pushy service. We will visit Gaucho Chancery Lane on our next trip to London.

With my family walking near CHancery Lane, I wanted to eat some good meat. Searching on the internet we came across this restaurant called Gaucho. It was like an epiphany, we ate not well but great and the quality of the food was excellent. We had some starters and then a steak each. "I would eat as much as I wanted The service was impeccable and I was surprised by the attention of the waiters in following the various tables despite being a little busy. Managers always present on the floor and very friendly in making sure everything was going as we wanted. At the end they offered us cheesecake, for our little one since it was also his birthday. Super recommended.

Amazing,food and service.This is my second time dining in I would definitely recommend. As I'm big fan of steaks kudos for the Churasco de Lomo just yummy. Very warm welcome from the reception and the manager Magda. And bravo for our waiter Carles really friendly and polite person and recommending a a nice bottle of wine Alpasion giving us the whole story behind the footprints. Definitely coming back

At Gaucho, every aspect of our dining experience surpassed expectations. From the attentive service to the mouthwatering dishes, each bite was a delight. Their signature steaks were cooked to perfection, complemented by flavorful sides. A culinary gem not to be missed.

Great place to have an Argentinian steak. They have great selection of empanadas and Argentinian wine. Very friendly staff. They brought complimentary dessert for birthday of my friends. Thank you!

Went with my girlfriend a few days ago and it wad brilliant. Food is amazing and so was the service. Would 100% recommend!

All was good except the chips, which were too hard

I work for a Criminal Law firm in the area. I made an order during a large scale project on the 16 Feb (Order #8569) the food was perfect! Vegetables came in a rectangular box as per the photo… the burger was amazing. So I recommended a friend try it the next day… 17 Feb (Order #2376) the burger was amazing but the veg came in a tiny square box. We both thought it was a joke. See photo. I want to buy it again… but I want to be sure I’ll get the correct portion of vegetables. The combination is amazing and I recommend it to anyone. Can a manager respond to this review?

The service we received we very average for the price point of the restaurant and we waited a long time to order our food and the waiter seemed a bit disinterested. The steak and burgers were lovely. However, the mac cheese had zero flavour, we tried to perk it up with some salt and pepper but it was bland and disappointing. We then had issues paying as there was a problem with the card machine. Overall, it was ok but not the usual level of service and food we expect from Gaucho.

The food was delicious and our server, Renaldo, was personable and efficient. He took time to make sure we were enjoying ourselves & the food was prepared to our liking. We plan on returning next time we are in London.

What an amazing time we had at this gorgeous restaurant. Thank you to everyone at Gaucho Chancery Lane for looking after us so well especially Agata. We had an extra special lovely, luscious, leisurely lunch and can’t wait to visit again.

The best seabass i have had in a while, we were given nice desserts as birthday treats which was nice. Everything was amazing, i highly recommend.

As a former Gaucho employee at a different location, frankly i was extremely disappointed! The server forgot essential condiments to our table like salt and pepper, and he was more concerned he couldn't find his sparkly pen than taking our order. I asked him twice for water before actually receiving it. We ordered a fillet steak and a wagyu burger and they turned up with a classic burger. They offered to change it but by then we just wanted our food. The chips were cold and clumped with seasoning on the top chips and nothing below, it really seemed as if no effort went into them. The steak was overcooked and very tough. The bread and starters were lovely! We had to wait 10 minutes to get our coats and bags at the end, really ruined our valentines day as i thought that this Gaucho would be to the standard of their other locations.

Great as always. Lovely food and looking forward to my next time.

It was our first visit to the Chancery Lane Gaucho, we have used other Gauchos for many years, we found this restaurant to be the best, we had the chateaubriand steak ( 450 grams ) to share with various sides, it was absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection, the waitress helped us pick a reasonably priced bottle of wine which went really well with the food, the staff could not have been more helpful, we will certainly return soon

The food was great, but the service was disappointing. No refills of drinks, no asking if everything was fine, not clearing for over 20 minutes after we finished until we asked, despite the restaurant being empty.

We had a great table, great service and a great time overall. Perfect

So expensive now, £37 for basic Rib eye and chips. Might be a while before I go again.

We were booked at a different Gaucho, but the restaurant was closed last minute and Gaucho Chancery Lane were able to fit us in. What a lovely place! Food was beautiful, staff were very accommodating and service from Michael was brilliant.

We had dinner here and it was a nice experience. Very welcoming environment and very friendly staff. Very tasty food, but the lomo churrasco was very succulent. The highlight after dinner? The panna cotta!! Delicious😋 I will definitely come back.

Had a great dinner at Gaucho Chancery. Although we weren’t able to make a reservation through Google, the Gaucho’s website said there was a free table. The food was great, the restaurant was a bit cold due too the airconditioning.

I’ve always LOVED gauchos but yesterday the steak was raw when i asked for medium, then they put it back on the heat and gave it to me well done so i couldn’t eat it. My boyfriends steak was also so chewy, my brothers steak was well done when he asked for medium. The burger was okay and the spaghetti was awful! The empanadas were good. Overall, was not happy at all with the food but the waiter that served us was sweet.

A lovely meal and good buzz about the place with open kitchen, great steak. Quite pricey but well worth it for special occasion.

Dining at Gaucho is always a joy and the steaks are amazing. The set menu was well put together and very good value BUT… of the three options for first course the vegetarian option was not available leaving only two, one of which contained blood sausage which was not something my party would eat. Substitutions were requested but refused. That left only one option for all of us - ceviche. Unfortunately the vegetarian main course option too was not available, so not great for vegetarians who by now would have been eating the napkins. Again, of the three options for dessert, only two were available. So, that wasn’t great either as we had been looking forward to trying everything!

Quite a lot of staff per square meter, but good food and atmosphere

Decent and dependable not - sure its the best steak I have had and quite expensive these days. Very good wine list and some really good ones on there.

I came here with colleagues at lunch time as our Xmas lunch and was surprised that I liked it more than I expected. Let's start with the food as this is what we came here for. I have to say that we went for the lunch menu which was £27 for 2 courses and £30 for 3 but the options are a bit more limited than it would be with a la carte but that's normal. I had a trio of Argentinian sausages to start with a couple of sauces and then a nicely cooked stake. Everything was very well cooked and as a dessert I tried a panacotta that was much better than I though it would. Service was spot on, not too much attention neither too little. The location is perfect for work meals and also if you go on a date. I would say it is a very good option for meat lovers but my guess is that it gets a bit pricey if you eat from the menu but that's up to you.

From the incredibly pretty receptionist to the very friendly and competent service to the perfect taste, we got everything. Because we had to wait a little bit, we got a snack and dessert on the house. The bar leaves almost nothing to be desired. The prices are average for London standards, the service is above average. We will be back. Unfortunately the music was a bit too loud, so you couldn't have a good conversation. Neither with each other nor with the service.

It has a good VIP area, but i think the ground floor is a little bit small.

The steak was absolutely delicious and cooked exactly as ordered, the service was second to none even though it was busy with Christmas parties.

I have always been a big fan of Gaucho, however my experience today was well below expectations. The only thing that went well was the food (once it came), however everything appeared and felt disjointed, long waits between courses, forgotten courses and staff visibly arguing with each other. For a client lunch, we were there for 3 hours for a 3 course meal, which is far too long. Between our starters and mains, we waited 45 mins, then another 45 mins for the desserts and coffees, only to be told our order had been forgotten. Service was completely nonexistent. I am not complaining for the sake of it, I am simply saying the service level has fallen far below the level I have experienced in the past at Gaucho and the expected of a lunch restaurant where you are paying £100 per head.

The food was good but my steak was a little gristly in places but still tasty. The restaurant has a lot of hard surfaces to a little noisy at times but overall it was a very enjoyable meal and the service was friendly and professional

Renato is the best server, hands down. Dare I say, the best in London. Had a fantastic experience with my partner where the service he provided was top tier. Not to mention, the chef and his team were the best and so attentive! Would recommend to anyone looking for a good meal, good service or even just a great experience for themselves/family/date.

My partners steak was overcooked, as a steak restaurant they should know better. They gave us some money off as an apology. Was a little disappointed.

I've frequented Gaucho for a long time, usually going to the one on Swallow Street. I'd forgotten how nice the one on Chancery Lane is. It's very intimate, a little bit quieter, but still has lots of character and ambience. Food is typically Gaucho and lovely. Staff here, I must say, we're incredibly welcoming, personable, and friendly on my last visit. Thanks very much for a lovely evening.

We had amazing experience from the start reception staff was very welcoming! We started with some bread pan de bono very fresh and tasty! We had tire de anchos to share I’m not sure if I’m spelling that right but it was worth every bite with some chips and broccoli on the side! Our server recommended it vina Patricia and it was really great choice! Ambience atmosphere 10 out 10! Managers came to us and ask if everything was okay. We finish our evening with sticky pudding and cheesecake. Can’t wait to explore other Gauchos! Thank you!

Usually very good food, for some reason a few details weren't as good as usual, including a sauce. Wouldn't deter another visit though.

My enthusiastic server provided very good services. Contrastingly, the receptionist was nowhere to be seen. I met with her at at the front door when I was departing she was as talking to a man (not a customer), not in English. I guess the day had to be her last day working there.
