The seabream was very good, melt in your mouth tender. The steak was also great. The star was the dessert for me - the trifle which was delicious and moreish.

Didn't have the best meal. Think Hawksmoore or Blacklock, much better value for money and better quality overall. They do an extremely sweet old fashioned, so unless you like it that way, maybe ask for no or less sugar syrup!

The service was very pleasant and helpful with the choice of wines. The marinated fillet steak was absolutely delicious as were the hand made chips. The green salad was a bit tired but generally the food was excellent and the atmosphere enjoyable.

The entire staff made our evening so very special as we were celebrating our engagement and they went the extra mile to make it memorable for us. A first class place which I can highly recommend for any occasion. Well done Gaucho Chancery Lane!

Came in for the set lunch menu. Our waiter, Ves, was absolutely amazing. He went through the menu and provided recommendations (prawn dish was delicious), fixed problems with our orders and overall did an excellent job taking care of us. The manager was also visible and very helpful, she made sure we enjoyed our meal. We left very happy.

The prawn chicharron in the lunch menu was amazing and I normally don’t even like to eat prawn. Service was also excellent.

Very slow service, 1:45 until main course. We were initially impressed by the service and also to see that the sides are half price of NY but they are also half size. After waiting for so long not all courses were available (they blamed brexit and the late hour). Fries not good, spinach too much garlic and so on. They asked whether we wanted salt and pepper, ketchup and stuff. Why not simply bring it… Meat was OK but not more than that. Ceviche tiny. Will not return.

Gorgeous interiors taking you away to a magical dining experience. Went for lunch and it was truly delightful, the service by Vas and George was immaculate. The steak was truly delightful , mouth watering flavours . Had a great time

Longtime fan of Gaucho brand, but food at this location was terrible. First truly bad meal in many visits over many years. No idea why, had meals at two other locations recently, both those were fine.

Very nice food, tasty with a nice variety. The same & wines & champagnes. Tables a little denser than I like could be a little more sparse. The guys at the service were polite & smiling but they were very late & forgot & things. Their kitchen certainly wasn't helping them at all. Overall, however, it was good if & a bit more expensive than I would consider fair.

Claudia and Barbara were amazing. Had a great time thanks to them both.

Estuviste en muchos restaurantes Gaucho y aunque son muy caros en general (especialmente el vino) , pensamos que el restaurante Chancery Lane es el que menos relación calidad-precio tiene. Fuimos para una comida romántica en un viernes por la noche, y había reservado la noche anterior. En primer lugar, a pesar de que solo había 4 mesas tomadas, la anfitriona trató de sentarnos en el borde de un sofá con un pilar bloqueando una vista y la otra vista era el acceso del personal de camareros a la cocina. Solicitó mudarse y dijo que había una mesa más disponible que estaba al lado de una familia joven cuyos hijos estaban vestidos con pijama, lo tomó como era mejor que el pilar. En segundo lugar, era tan brillante que era como una sala de exposiciones de coches. Eran las 7 pm y había velas en todas las mesas, así que preguntamos si estaban planeando hacerlo o si podían bajar las luces un poco para hacerlo más romántico / un poco de ambiente. Nos advirtieron que las luces eran tan bajas como pueden ir! Nos gusta nuestro filete bien hecho. Para tratar de evitar la situación de devolver el filete siempre tratamos de ser lo más claros y concisos posible a la hora de pedirlo y pedimos que esté “Bien hecho” y que ponga mariposa al filete (como hacen normalmente en otros restaurantes, incluidas otras sucursales Gaucho) para asegurarnos de que la carne esté cocinada a través de/sin rosa. Salió filete y no era mariposa y muy rosa así que tuve que enviarlo de vuelta. Salió de nuevo 5 minutos después, pero todavía estaba un poco rosa, a regañadientes se lo comió (pero no todo). Al pagar aproximadamente £ 40 por filete y £ 50 + por una botella de vino (y una factura de £ 235 en general) espera tener una mejor experiencia. Definitivamente no volveré a esa sucursal de nuevo, si alguno de los restaurantes Gaucho!

Incredible experience. Amazing food, and ambience. We had the private space for a birthday party. It is very separate to the wider restaurant. Karmen was an incredible server. She deserves praise for her service.

COMPLETELY OVERPRICED WITH RUDE WAITERS!! DO NOT IF YOU HAVE ANY ALLERGIES!! Our waiter was Carlos. I myself am a coeliac and was told nothing was suitable in the restaurant which was contrary to what the menu online said. The waiter we have was extremely rude leaning over and hitting one of the people on the table and hit the other in the ear with a notebook. He repeatedly came up to the table to stand and stare and had an aggressive attitude. Everything seemed to be a problem like finding lipstick on the glasses which he had to inspect before he gave us a new one. Food was beyond average. Would NOT recommend this to a single living person.

I hadn’t eaten in a Gaucho since I went to one in Dubai many years ago and I wasn’t disappointed. The ribeye with Malbec sauce was melt in the mouth bliss and the Dauphinoise potatoes were so divine I still smile when I think of my first mouthful. But to be honest, you can get just as good a steak meal for almost half the price (outside of the corporate lunch/tourist trap areas of central London) if you know where to look. One for the company credit card 😉

Have to say very expensive for what we had, but then again it’s London prices 🤷‍♂️. Service was very good, our table wasn’t great as I spent all dinner facing and looking at the main waiter area behind the kitchen. This branch of the chain seem to lack and form of atmosphere

Elegí el Churrasco de Lomo que estaba delicioso y perfectamente cocinado. Disfrutamos de los lados - patatas fritas y patatas delfines trufa. En general, una experiencia gastronómica encantadora, personal amable y acogedor y deliciosa comida. Definitivamente volveré.

Had a great time at Gaucho Piccadilly a few years back, so went to Gaucho again this time in London. A very different vibe, not as fancy as that at Piccadilly. Food was….not bad but also not my expected Gaucho standard. Service was good.

My daughter and I have booked the restaurant for a meal while we visited London. We were seated at a table which we were not happy with so asked to be relocated, which they did with no issue at all. Our waiter was excellent and nothing was too much trouble, even though they brought me the incorrect main course they made me new and immediately the manager came over and offered us 25% off our bill which was more than enough. The steak was outstanding and we really enjoyed our meal.

Never disappoints. So lucky to work so close to Gaucho. Can't wait to go again

Nos dijeron que para fiestas de diez toman pedidos anticipados, pero esto no se mencionó en el momento de la reserva y la mesa anterior de ocho tuvo prioridad. Realmente risible, ya que no había más de 25 personas en todo el restaurante. El pesebre finalmente no nos cobró por los peces, pero ese no es el punto. Queríamos una buena comida y habría estado muy contento de pagar el precio completo. Cocinar filetes y pescado no es difícil. Tuve otro almuerzo muy agradable aquí recientemente y ahora he probado varios filetes. Es realmente bueno en general para la comida y el ambiente y el servicio, pero no voy a ir por el chimichuri marinado (preparación tradicional de carne argentina con ajo y perejil) de nuevo porque dominó completamente el sabor de la excelente carne. Pedí un corte especial hoy que era el ojo de costilla espiral. En el futuro me apegaré a los cortes regulares con salsa de pimienta en grano y papas fritas, por ejemplo. Que sea simple, básicamente.

Gaucho is an excellent ‘work lunch’ spot with a £30 three-course lunch set menu that includes some ceviche, steak, and either semifreddo or pancakes. It’s not the best steakhouse around the area, but the prices are fair and relatively affordable for a quick business lunch. Their chorizo steak with chimichurri sauce is definitely my go-to option!

Had a good steak but were served flat Coke. Steak tartare was tiny and tasteless. Very bizarre considering it’s meant to be a decent restaurant.

Had the 3 course Legacy Menu for Gaucho’s 30th anniversary which was extremely good value for money and a variety of menu options. Service was attentive, and when we mentioned it was our wedding anniversary they brought out 2 glasses of Prosecco and a desert on a decorated plate with a Happy Anniversary message.

So glad the £30 for 3 courses offer has continued. More lunches booked in

This restaurant is one of the greatest culinary disappointments I have ever experienced. I ordered one of the most expensive cuts of meat, and it turned out to be one of the worst I’ve ever eaten, completely devoid of flavour. The tartare, besides being tiny and more suitable for an ant, was mostly made up of vegetables, and all this at an exorbitant price. The empanadas were the only decent thing, but paying £222.43 for two people and eating so poorly is outrageous. I should have suspected it when I saw how empty it was. If there were a word worse than disappointing, I would undoubtedly use it. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry after paying such high prices for such dreadful meat, especially considering that meat is supposed to be their speciality. Ironically, it seems to be the worst thing they offer. Don’t go, because this is a real horror movie: you’ll leave terrified by the bill and still hungry.

I recently went to Gaucho in Chancery Lane and had a great meal. From the moment I walked into the restaurant the staff were friendly and made me feel welcome. With the kitchen just behind my table it was really nice to hear the steaks being cooked and the noise of the kitchen (it wasn’t loud). The food presentation and taste were great and very flavourful and the peppercorn sauce was lovely. I would highly recommend paying it a visit with either a group of people or just yourself.

Celebrated my birthday lunch at Gaucho Chancery Lane with my fiance - food was impeccable as always and service was fantastic. Renato was an awesome host and we enjoyed our chat. Atmosphere was great, we chose the early lunch service so it was nice and relaxed. Amazing as always - will be back very soon!

Amazing dinner. We went for dinner on the 29th of May and was fabulous evening. Starting from the greatness at the door by the young reception and the lady manager, continues to the excellent service and the suggestion of the wine was the perfect pairingsof the night. Is always a pleasure to back to Gaucho and the quality of the food is come another planet.

The food was good, I had the scallops and a ribeye steak, but the atmosphere was very muted for a Saturday night. Also, the food plus 2 glasses of wine came to over £100 (just for me), which seems a little bit steep.

Great food but service was poor. Several side plates didn’t arrive and after requesting them 3 times we gave up. I ordered a large steak but it was identical to the smaller steaks the group ordered. Waited an age for payment machine to be brought. It was busy but staff were largely just pottering around and not in any hurry to do anything. Such a shame as I usually visit at lunch when the service is always exceptional

Visited the restaurant to celebrate my sister’s birthday and we enjoyed the experience immensely. Our waiter (Renato) was very attentive while being professional and friendly. (Until he had to leave. But he handed us off to his colleague who continued his great service.) He showed us all the different cuts and patiently explained the differences, and had everything cooked just as we wanted them. He also gave us some complimentary fizz to toast the occasion. We had the Gaucho selection platter that had all four of the main steaks, and a selection of sides, sauces and toppings. Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked. Unfortunately we weren’t fans of the options on the dessert menu but my sister was given a complimentary cheesecake to celebrate her birthday. We got to the restaurant around 4pm on Wednesday afternoon, so there wasn’t much atmosphere and only a couple of other tables filled. There were only three in our party but we created our own atmosphere. My sister enjoyed her meal and her day, so win win. Thank you Gaucho Chancery Lane for making a 60th Birthday celebration memorable.

Superb. In an area awash with wonderful dining options, this elegant restaurant stands out. It's about meat - grilled steaks in the main - so if that's your thing, a visit to Gaucho, Chancery Lane, will be memorable and in a very good way. A colleague and I popped in here last week with no reservation. We received a very warm welcome form the hostess who found us a lovely table and we were served by a very competent, patient and attentive waitress. We needed some help with the menu - there are lots of steak options, so the waitress arrived with a large slate of the cuts of meat to help us understand all that was available. Clever. And its not often you're served your meal by a final-year Neuroscience student. The hostess and our waitress, Carmen, are proof that your front line is your bottom line in the hospitality business. Wine was great too - a Malbec I think, in keeping with the steaks. The dining room is lovely, elegant and very relaxing, there is sufficient space between the tables to afford privacy - often a criticism and you can see the chefs work their magic. There is a private dining room id you so wish too. The toilets are immaculate. Unless you have a stretchy credit card, this place will be a special occasion rather than a weekly drop-in. But it is now on my hit list if I particularly want to impress someone! Than you to all who made an otherwise tough business dinner so enjoyable.
