Relaxed atmosphere, friendly but not overbearing service and excellent food. The five of us had a range of small plates and main meals - really decent portion sizes and tasty - unfortunately no room for dessert!

We were there for Mother’s Day (5 of us) including a 5 month old baby. I was very disappointed with the service we got as we were sat in a corner and had to wait 20 mins before we were offered any drinks. We were ready to walkout of there but thankfully a waiter reluctantly asked us whether we like to have any drinks. Small plates and mains were good and reasonably priced. Dessert wasn’t exactly great. Churros tasted salty and like seafood. May be it was fried in the same oil. Wouldn’t come back.

An absolute hidden gem. The staff were very attentive and the food was excellent. All the meals came out hot and were extremely tasty and would definitely come back again. I saw their post on instagram and booked especially for Mother’s Day and the travel was well worth it! It was beautiful and can’t wait to come back.

We booked Off the Grid for an anniversary meal this evening and whilst the food was good, we left feeling a bit underwhelmed by the overall experience. We arrived just after 6pm on a Saturday and the restaurant was around half full - service was attentive upon arrival and our drinks order taken promptly which we liked. Wine arrived a few moments later and we placed our food order - five dishes to share between two; a few starters and a “main”. Unfortunately this is where the “experience” side fell short. 10 mins after taking our food order, all of our dishes had arrived at the table in quick succession so by the time we’d eaten, our whole meal (/experience) was over and done in 30 minutes or so. As an anniversary meal this should have been the focal point of our evening but it felt so rushed and cut short. It would have been much more sensible to stagger the dishes so we’d have been more inclined to order more drinks and stayed for longer. We hadn’t even finished our wine by the time we’d finished our food. Nobody came to check on how our meal was or to see if we needed more drinks etc. Food wise, a good 7.5/10. Padron peppers and grilled prawns were both really good. Burnt belly ends a bit disappointing as more slow cooked bbq pork bites - we’d expected charred, crispy bits of belly pork but wasn’t the case. We also ordered the truffle burger and there wasn’t even a sniff of truffle - a very good burger but not as ordered. Would consider going again but be very clear not to rush the service and would reconsider our order.

We were served by Leah who was really attentive and helped us decide what we should choose from the menu. The food is fab!

Second meal at Off the Grid and just as impressed. Food, service and staff all 5/5...has rapidly become my favourite place for dining out.

We dined at Off The Grid for my partner’s birthday as a party of 18. They contacted before for a preorder and it was great as it meant everything ran seamlessly while we were there. They catered for one of our guests who was coeliac preparing her food separately. The service was excellent, the staff were so friendly. Drinks and food came out very quickly. The food was incredible and everybody commented how much they enjoyed their meals and it was a great choice of restaurant. I can’t praise it enough, will definitely be back.

We absolutely loved the food and experience at Off the grid. Haven’t been before but so glad to have this place on our radar. Surprised at the variety on the menu as I thought it was meant to be a Nando’s like place. They have small plates, burgers, steaks, everything we had was fantastic. Will definitely visit again.

Good tapas from a newer restaurant on the Chorlton Terrace. Really enjoyed our meal. Well priced, good service and food was great. I also loved the decor, really fresh and classy. The only reason I’m giving 4 rather than 5 stars is that I did have one piece of halloumi that was cold in the middle, but with halloumi it’s not the end of the world. Going back tonight, looking forward to another good meal.

Off the Grid is a hidden gem in Manchester. All the food was incredibly fresh and well portioned. Good ambience and excellent music playlist; lovely and helpful staff. Highly recommend the prawns, mixed frito, Greek salad and burger. We will back soon to sample the grilled meats that looked amazing coming out of the kitchen.

First visit to Off the Grid but really enjoyed it. The food was delicious and felt authentically Mediterranean. We lived in Spain for many years and this was as good as many an Andalusian tapas bar. We were a group of 3 and chose a selection of the small plates and every one of them exceeded expectations. We will definitely go back. Staff were friendly, helpful and very understanding of my husbands nneds. He has Alzheimer’s but staff made him feel welcome and valued.

Not a single negative! Great food, friendly staff and food served quickly in a lovely setting. Amazing food which was all reasonably priced! Hard to pick a favourite but beef cheeks will definitely be ordered again and loved the carne asado. Even for small sharing plates, the portions were quite generous! We had about 6 different plates and are already planning on what to have next time we visit.

Really, really tasty food and friendly prompt service. Highly recommend the beef cheeks and pork belly. If you’re like me and just want to try a bit of everything then it’s perfect because they serve small plates. You don’t have to make your mind up on one thing, instead you can have a bit of everything that takes your fancy.
