Ok, so there is a lot to like about this pub. It was our place to go for many years. The staff are brilliant the Guinness is great and the crowd that go there are really friendly. But I really don’t like the TV screens they have up. Fair enough if there’s sport on but I just been in there and they had ‘Strictly it takes two’ on, with the sound off. What’s the point of that? . I go out to get away from that kinda stuff.

Lovely pub, lovely staff, dog friendly too but gets busy at weekends so not best place for a dog due to hiw busy it gets, any other time then great. The food was amazing and big portions too.

Haven't been here for a few years, but it's still as good as ever. Friendly, doesn't cost a bomb and lots of cool stuff on the walls

A improper plastic paddy pub, the welcome is warm, but lacks authenticity, limited drinks offer. Scores high on friendliness. Needs to try harder

First time visiting (April 2023). Loved it! Gorgeous place, nice staff and the food was brilliant. Best cheese toasty and chips ever!

Descent Irish bar but not many options for cask ale or craft beer. Really nice people and a great environment and super friendly staff. Will gladly return but it's a bit lost compared to the choice of places in Chelmsford these days.

I am just in the area for a few weeks and this pub is a stone's throw away. While I like sitting on my own I also like company but don't look for it. The owners invited me to sit with them and were so friendly. Nice barmaids, ice cold beer and good food I will miss it when I leave the area. Good luck guys!!

Amazing night!! Jim, his staff and the singers couldn't have made my works leaving do more special. They really did go over and above for a lage group of around 50 people. A massive thank you to all.

Bending towards a sports bar, its a good pub. Less Irish than it used to be but the Guinness is good

First time in this pub. A nice proper pub. Came for a 60's reunion and saw a few faces I knew in my teens and twenties. Nice terrace garden with shaded areas and plenty of seating for sun worshippers. Beautiful hanging baskets adorning the walls. I shall be returning when I next meet up with friends in town.

I want to say a huge thank you to Jim, Dan and the staff at O'connors for hosting our daughters Christening. The food was delicious and it was all prepared in house. Everyone had a great time! So much so, that unfortunately for Jim and the crew. They may see more of my family in the future. Thanks again!

This is a beautiful little Irish pub. Great, friendly staff. Children and dog friendly. Nice garden at the rear door when the weather permits.

What a fine a real gem of a pub hidden away off off main road ,very comfortable beer garden, spotlessly clean in and out ,sport on tv and good food. Landlady and bar staff very welcoming and friendly what more could you ask for in a local pub will certainly be returning.

Super friendly and pleasant owner and staff. Great light lunch with friends ... Serves an excellent Guinness. A real gem hidden from the busy traffic thoroughfare. The rear garden area is simply lovely. Best in Chelmsford city centre.

We were informed that they weren’t reserving tables so we got here really early we got a prime table outside and then apparently the landlady’s dough Terra had reserved the table. Pretty pissed off about it and won’t be returning. Favouritism isn’t acceptable!

Went to this establishment to watch one of the England group games as was informed it was walk jns only with no bookings. On arrival was told that some tables were reserved! So you do take bookings?! Why were we not told this when we contacted them earlier in the week? Poor service! Would not visit again

Recently stating working in the area, catching up with a friend in my lunch break. Stumbled upon O'Connor's, and really glad we did. Lovely good, friendly and attentive hosts and really relaxed. Sat in the beer garden and had a really chilled lunch break. Thank you

Ok pub.Lovely little courtyard garden in the summer. Very Irish feel .Downside for me was on more than one occasion some of the female bar staff seem rather miserable and officious.

I sometimes stay with my Son just around the corner and wanted to watch some football. Had to wear mask obviously until I got to my table with table service. I saw a young lady wandering around at the bar without a mask and I brought it to the attention of the Landlady who immediately dealt with the situation. She was running around cleaning tables and at the same time monitoring everyone to make sure they were following the Government rules. Well done to the Landlady - I will be back !!

Great pub that anyone can enjoy. Not one of those unfriendly 'locals only' places. Love the Guinness here. Lovely outdoor section too.

My parents have told me many stories of The Prince Of Orange and the legendary events that happened here. Now it's a long way from what they remember of it, but it's a nice place to go for a drink.

Love this place! Great staff and the owner is lovely! Can watch sports on several screens; does get busy when the rugby is on but a great atmosphere. Beer garden is lovely too in the summer.

My brother had a birthday party in here this place is the best Margaret and her staff are very welcoming and very efficient. Anytime we are in Chelmsford we always visit O'Connors. The best pub in town. Xx

Went for a pint after voting in the European Elections nearby. Dogs are allowed in the Polling Station but not in the beer garden of O'Connors according to the very grumpy barmaid. Pathetic!

This is a great bar to come and chill out with friends and watch the sporting events . It can get pretty packed but always good banter and staff are excellent and really fast service

Entered rather late was served fine but after about 5 minutes got told to finish our drinks and get out - should have been warned that it was closing time before being allowed to purchase a large round of drinks and maybe could have been asked to leave politely. Poor service.

I treat myself occasionally by popping into O’Connors. It has a really nice old world vibe while still being very clean and modern. There is a wide selection of beers and spirits plus a nice courtyard outback with plenty of seating

Really good for watching sport, if you can get a seat near a screen. Otherwise it gets pretty busy and becomes difficult to watch if you're standing. Always a lively atmosphere which is good. Beer selection and quality is very good and the Guinness is probably the best in Chelmsford

I am never one to write reviews but I feel compelled to. I went in there with two friends for a drink Saturday evening. Firstly, we thought it was a bit off that we had to pay for the outside heaters. Secondly, upon leaving the pub after a couple of drinks, the barmaid ran down the road after us and accused us of stealing a gin glass, we were completely and utterly shocked, even offered our bags for her to search but she quickly said she believed us and ran back to the pub. Not once did we receive an apology for being accosted in the street and accused of being a thief. We were absolutely disgusted with the treatment from the staff! It’s a shame as it is a nice cosy pub but our experience was completely ruined by the appalling attitude of the bar staff. We certainly won’t be returning!!

Visited this pub today at 3pm! Have visited before and that’s why we went back! Beautiful flowers in the beer garden. On this visit the barmaid was very rude! Would not visit again! And would not recommend! Plenty of pubs to use in the area which are great!

Usually a good pub, but on my last visit, the landlord didn't like my friend removing a flip flop from a hanging basket and then proceeded to assault him. Great entertainment.

What a Guinness, I had 2 pints anyway, and walk for 40 mins to get back home so that I can join my little yellow mates to the casino,unfortunately they can't wait to lose, god damn it(& left me in the room listening to youtube)......Anyway,back to OCONNOR, she is a nice fine bar tender and cleaner and hardworker and hot and love her job a lots, WICKED.....thanks mate.

Visited this pub last summer with my wife and was impressed enough to return with friends this afternoon with friends. Still a nice enough pub but unfortunately spoilt by a barmaid who is obviously not very happy in her work and has a very rude attitude.
