Very, Very good fish and chips.

Never seen a "plaice" with such a long queue! Food didn't disappoint, just the time it took to receive it, not their fault by any means just the sheer volume of customers!

Seems to have gone downhill in the last year, which is a pity. Got a take out tonight and chips are stodgy and tough, they don't taste or feel fresh at all. Not crispy at all, just really soggy. It's almost like you get served days old chips that have been reheated badly. 🤢 The fish usually tastes good but lately it's burnt and tough. Tonight's fish was more burnt battered than anything. Sorry to say we won't be giving Oceans another chance after tonight. Both my husband and I feel a little ill this evening after eating the fish. Straight in the bin it went.

I have been coming here sense it opened and is easily the best chip shop in Melksham. Their food and product is great the cost is great value and they have friendly staff.

Very disappointed with my OAP fish and chips and mushy peas yesterday, 30 may, batter was soggy and fish overdone, no lemon or salt and vinegar, and we waited over 15 minutes. My meal has always been excellent in the past, batter is usually crispy and the fish is perfectly cooked.

Never had a issue .but the food tonight was absolutely terrible .fish batter was over cooked and the chips were rock hard

Never thought this place was that great due to its small bitty tastless crispy chips. The last time we ordered fish and chips the fish was smelly and slimy, so it all went in the bin. Although it's a bit further out, Lee's is far superior, they will be getting our custom from now on. Proper chip shop chips wrapped in paper like it should be.

We always go to Ocean's for our food. We normally telephone the order through, then collect 20 mins later. Large variety of food served, and the portions are massive! Staff are always friendly and helpful. Can get very busy at times, but always served very quickly.

Lovely place to get your dinner/ tea/supper, freshly cooked and at a rapid pace,always tastes lovely and served with a smile on their face.

We used to really like this place but this is now the second time we have visited where we have approx 40 mins before they close and when you ask for cod and chips and chips and a burger they say no cause there closing early so only have pukka pies, chips and sausage. Unfortunately as this is now the 2nd time they have done this to us we shan't be returning...

This is the only chippy that the fish doesn't upset my bowls. I've tried all the local chip shops since moving to a village outside Melksham. Now I can have fish and chips instead of having to make do with pie and chips. So thank you Ocean's 😊

I came this evening and they were extremely busy , all staff were working very hard to get orders done as quickly as possible. Customer service was excellent, Skye who was taking orders got through them as quickly as she could with a smile. Recommend this chip shop to all.

Brought sauegae and chips, the chips was over done, hard when you bite into them, the sausage was over done as well hard and tuff when bite into it, they put the chips in small box’s now , don’t get meny chips now , won’t go there again.

Great chippy! Big portions and very tasty. They operate a number system for all orders to keep things fair! Parking can be hit and miss on the estate, but that's not their fault, just something to bear in mind! Great friendly staff. Thoroughly recommended!

Wasn't the best food the fish was very greasy.

Best fish and chips I've ever tasted - good to note the food was not smothered in fat like in some fish and chip shops and the chips were not crunchy but large chunky and soft to munch - live in calne but will travel the distance just to get the quality!!! Well Done

After hearing all the hype I'm honestly disappointed. The fish had clearly been left in warmer for way too long after it had been cooked as it was really dry, especially the batter. The battered sausage was tasteless and the chips were pathetic. Honestly if this was a cheap fish and chip shop I'd wouldn't care but this was pretty pricey. I've payed less for way better fish at Harry Ramsden

Excellent first time visit, fish cooked to perfection, batter crisp not soggy like many places. The chips were well cooked and not greasy. Lovely meal from a very clean environment. I will visit again.

Great chips. Well organised - fast, freshly cooked food. UPDATE Chips not always so good. Chicken and burgers must be microwaved only judging by appearance. Going elsewhere FURTHER UPDATE Chips now cold.

Only giving 1 as cannot give 0. Just had fish & chips at 5.50pm on a Saturday eve. Have used this chip shop many times b4 without issue, BUT this was by far the worst fish & chips we've ever had. It was cold, chips were like cardboard, and fish batter was non crispy. Won't be rushing back!

I’ve only been here a few times, we changed fish and chip shops due to so many recommendations about this place. First time, couldn’t fault it. We turned up, ordered there and then and the service was quick and the food was delicious. We heard you could ring through your order, so we did this ahead of time. On the call we were given an order number but the line was so bad we couldn’t quite work it out. Before we had time to ask what it was, the line went dead. We turned up anyways, apologetic, but we were sure they’d be able to find our order. The lady serving us, went mad at us for forgetting the number. Shock her head and kept saying how was she supposed to know what we ordered. She was so unnecessarily rude and kept having digs throughout being served. It took her all of 3 seconds to find out what we ordered, which didn’t really add to the time at all. I can appreciate it gets busy and I understand the need for order numbers. If this is a crucial part of your service, you should have made that really clear on the phone. If someone forgets this number, there are other ways to remind people of this for future reference. Really gutted, we liked it here but that service was so shocking that I don’t think we can return.

First time everything was fantastic, second time the chips were just very soggy and some were undercooked. Maybe we'll try again, but I'm not sure.

Fantastic gluten free fish & chips, daughters also love the battered sausage & chips.

Paid £12 for cod, chips and peas and a beef & onion pie and battered sausage. Queued for nearly 30 minutes waiting for the order and when I got home it wasn't even right - awful curry sauce instead of peas and the sausage was really dry. Will not be going back.

Every visit to Oceans is top quality. The fish is amazing. Great size, lovely crispy batter. The chips are a huge portion. You should never be hungry after a trip to Oceans Fish and Chips. I've eaten a lot of Fish and Chips especially by the seaside and these are the best.

This was the first time we'd used this takeaway. The staff were very helpful when we placed a huge order on Friday to pick up at 18.00 on Saturday. When we arrived the food was ready and waiting in individual bags with a list of the contents stapled to the outside of the bag for ease of knowing who's was in which bag. The food was fantastic, the best fish and chips in Melksham, we will definitely use Ocean's again.
