Cannot review as always closed when it should be open, it's like the owner turns up when they want. I mean not open at 630pm on a Saturday night is not a good sign. Went to the codfather instead and got a great portion of chips and sausage.

This is our local chippy, we have lived in Aylesbury 7 years. After trying a few all that time ago, this one has been the only chippy we go too. Friendly, family run business serving great food. We have never looked back!!

25/08/22 Not a very good start The shop is meant to be open at 17.00 also said on the Internet that it was waited until 17.30 no response also phone the shop no answer complete utter waste of time should’ve Known Better from Aylesbury won’t bother again not a way to run a business.

The worst fish and chips I ever had They don’t even make or serve any kind of chillie souce. And too much pricy But who gave them 4.5stars .

We love our local chippy, however lately he does seem to be closed more, which is disappointing . The food is cooked fresh and are large portions which makes it good value for your money.

The cod and chips here is the best I've ever tasted. The cod is fresh,succulent and perfectly cooked and the chips are perfect too. I haven't ordered from any other fish and chip shop since I tasted the food here!

I love fish n chips and this was some of the best I've had. Large Haddock and Large chips, cooked whilst I waited. Excellent.

I have been going to this fish and chip shop for the past year and have nothing but praise for it. Very pleasant friendly staff, very clean and hygienic, top quality food, the chips are excellent, good prices. It is the best chippy I have found in Aylesbury.

Soooook disappointed with this chip shop after my visit tonight I will not be returning it was greasy the chips were all stuck together and not fully cooked and it certainly was not cod in the cod bites also greasy the burger was not nice either and we don't feel great after eating from here awful !!!😩

Chips need cooking for longer as most of them were hard.. Didn't think you could go wrong with chips! Fish cake was cold & dry.

I live on the far side of town from Ocean Wave Fish Bar, but I travel every Friday evening to buy fish and chips for my wife and me. There are several fish shops closer to me but I still prefer to travel the 8 mile round trip to get the best. The proprietor and his staff welcome me like a friend not just a customer, and the food is always freshly cooked. It means having to wait for your order to be cooked while you wait, but it is so worth the wait, and the conversation whilst waiting is always so friendly and topical. I've been using this chippy for about 3 years now and would not consider changing.

Very nice fish and chips bar. You can park on either side of the road to go in. Unfortunately they don't open on Mondays.

Haddock, chips mushy peas and onion rings. Beautiful freshly cooked haddock, not the best chips I've ever had but nicely cooked and tasty all the same. I dropped a star because I felt the onion rings were 'lacking'.

A great family run fish and chip shop. Great selection of fish, burgers and other fish shop fayre, which is usually cooked to order, so it's piping hot when you get it home. Very helpful and friendly staff and reasonable prices. I've been going there for the last twenty years for fish and chips and it's the best in Aylesbury.

Chips were raw and the gravy was like water would never buy again

My sister and I really look forward to shopping on a Friday afternoon. Not for the bargains but because we pass this fab fish and chips shop on the way so we have a cone of chips which gives us the strength to shop. Seriously though, lovely people and a lovely clean shop with the best chips we have had anywhere.

I'm from Yorkshire and we all know the best fish and chips is from there. This place is the nearest you'll get to high quality fish. The fish is tasty and is prepared freshly for you EACH time. It's not only the freshness that you would rate the fish, it's also the quality and quantity of the batter that is prepared. It's crunchy, it's not soggy or chewy. It's light and very tasty. The chips are crispy and fluffy from the inside. They just compliment each other. The service from all the staff are very friendly and the price is great for the quality that is served. It's a busy place and there's a good reason for that. Highly recommend this place. There are other fish n chip shops in the area, but judge for yourself. You'll be going back. Trust me.

Second time here for me. Today - Friday lunchtime. Fish and chips tasted really good. Fish was massive, cooked well and the batter wasn't greasy. Chips lovely. Will be back in the next few weeks.....

Staying close by on business and decided after seeing the shop I'd give it a try and pleased I did. Asked for fish and chips which was cooked to order from friendly staff. Was ready quite quickly and the price was really reasonable for fish and chips these days. Cod lovely, batter lovely, chips really nice; all nice potatoes with absolutely no bad bits in and not too greasy. Definitely glad I went, recommended.

I've been using this place for 15 years at least and I've never had anything but delicious food.

Quality of all products is excellent, from chicken strips to pies to cod and chips.. All fish is freshly cooked while you wait. I phone through my order, which means it is ready for me by the time I arrive. Great service.

Just had some great cod and chips curry sauce and savaloy five stars well deserved rob.

Food great and very clean but my God are they miserable in there. Feel so sorry for the younger staff. The woman who seems to be in charge is so miserable it makes you feel uncomfortable.

NEVER had a less than perfect meal, all freshly cooked so worth waiting for, friendly knowledgable staff, everything properly wrapped for you to take home.

I have been eating at this chip shop at least 26years. It's my absolute favourite, no other place comes close. Food is always hot fresh and delicious, good price. Chips are always perfect. Cannot fault. Love the place :)

Best fish and chips in Aylesbury. Most food cooked to order so lovely and fresh and hot. If you go on a Friday be prepared to queue and wait but its worth it. Staff are lovely and friendly even the youngsters serving. Always get food here when I come into Aylesbury to visit the Theatre.

Despite having moved house and now living the other side of Aylesbury we still drive across town whenever we want fish and chips. Big portions of food and it always comes out clean and crisp. Run by friendly people which is always a bonus, and it has a 5* food hygiene rating.

Does get busy and you have to wait as most things are cooked to order. the only disappointment was the burger, I tried it one night and it was terrible (tasted cheap and dry), guess you don't go to a fish and chip shop for a burger though!

After having a feeling for "chipshop chips" one Saturday & regularly passing this takeaway we took the plunge & are glad we did!! The portions sizes were plenty big enough & prices of the food we ordered was reasonable. The chips were great, chunky, not too greasy. They obviously get quality potatos & oil. Well recommended & we'll definately by going again for the odd treat!!
