My partner and I visited on a lovely sunny May day. The cafe was quiet but we were greeted as we walked in. We ordered a soup and toastie between us. The soup was tasty although we should have asked for two spoons. And the toastie was served with an option of chips or salad. We chose the salad which was nice and had coleslaw with it. Portion sizes were good for the price. Only slight downside was the toilet was not as fragrant as it could have been (obviously not always controllable) and had a few bits and bobs lying around. Other than that the cafe was good and we would visit again if in the area. Thanks.

Stopped here for lunch whilst on a cycling trip. It served just what the doctor ordered and what a crowd of hungry men wanted. Maybe not the healthiest menu in the world but the service was quick and friendly

After a harbour walk my wife and I popped in for a bowl of soup and a bacon roll. The café was reasonably busy with a young male staff in shorts and trainers working the floor. There was a few tables that needed clearing and the floor needed cleaning up to prevent it moving around every time the front door opened. Soup was good and bacon sandwich was also good. Negative areas are tables require a revarnish and staff need to be a little more professional. Will return.

Small cafe with friendly staff in a lovely coastal town, lovely food. The cafe could do with a makeover.

Would give this no stars. Nipped in for a baked potato and 2 teas. Asked first if baked potatoes were ready and told yes. Very young guy serving didn't have a clue. Couldn't add up. Gave me 1 tea and denied me asking or paying for two. Then served tea that he'd dipped tea-bag into so was just a cup of boiling water. Complained and when asked for 2nd one he did exactly the same again! Potato which was supposedly ready took 15 minutes. Fillings were wrong. Went to eat it and it was still frozen. Had obviously been stuck in microwave but only long enough to heat a small bit. So much for fresh food. Who serves up baked potatoes that have been frozen. When I complained the young guy said "it's not my problem" indignantly. I asked for an apology and he said this again. I asked for the "chef" to come and apologise. He refused. Asked for my money back. Still no apology. I could not believe this place is still open. It's in a great location for passing trade. There must be people who would love to run a cafe here as with the right management it could be so profitable with no other local competition. God forbid anyone visiting the area. What an impression to give. Absolutely shocking. They deserve to go out of business.

We both had the small breakfast, well cooked, quickly served, friendly wee place, Manu and Emily always make the customers welcome. We see the same faces every time we're in, so we're not the only ones who like it.

I'd call this a cheap and cheerful cafe - it's traditional and the people are so friendly and helpful. The food is basic home cooked food and we enjoyed it. The cafe was busy throughout our visit and to me that means it's popular. The lad serving us couldn't do enough to help - said there may be a 20 minute wait for food, wipes the table straight away. Lovely little place. Good for breakfasts

We only popped in for ice cream for the kids after an hour or two at the park and it was awful. Run down, dirty, cramp and that smell 🤢 no thanks! Service is slower then slow. Food that was coming out looked Greasy and not very appealing. Shame as this is the first cafe any tourist would see from seton sands holiday camp! It's disgusting! Definitely give it a miss!

Popped in for a late lunch and it was lovely! Lots of the food sold due to the time but good that they obviously cook fresh. I had macaroni and my husband steak pie, both very generous portions and lovely home cooked flavour. Lots of pensioners in as they have 2 special (amazing) deals for them!! Will return and prices reasonable too. Good to support a small local business.

Port Seton has a lot to offer , nice walks , busy wee harbours , interesting architecture friendly people but this cafe has had a personality bypass ! The staff are very friendly and welcoming but I wish their decor matched them . It is bland ! With a capital B ! The pictures for sale on the walls is a good idea but when I visit the seaside I want to see nautical themed pictures and crafts for sale not these subjects . Please brighten the place up with some colour on the walls and perhaps some bright tables or tablecloths . I know you are the only cafe in the town but Your cafe interior needs to reflect your friendliness and your helpfulness !

This is the sort of cafe that serves a purpose but does not feel like a treat. It's used by families and elderly couples getting their daily hot meal. The decor is dark and the fittings are tired and mismatched. We were just delighted to stumble on somewhere open, as our seven year old daughter was famished after a walk around Cockenzie Harbour (nearby) and her judo club. We were well out of our normal stamping ground so we decided to give it a try. We were given a kind and genuine welcome by the waitress. Lasagne was about £7 and came with chips and salad. Husband ate it all without complaint and it looked nice. I had an onion omelette which came with chips and salad for under £5. Sadly the bottom was burned. My girl started off, enthusiastically, on her macaroni cheese and nearly polished it off before picking fault with it about a mustard taste (I think she was, by then, no longer hungry and wanting an excuse to leave the very large portion). It did indeed taste fine and, yes, it did have mustard in it. Okay chips but I hate getting little sauce sachets - a bottle of ketchup would have been better. Good coffee. Us girls had tap water! There are a male and a female toilet. We found hem to be clean and a real trip down memory lane - avocado green :-DWill we go back? Maybe.

Been a few times for breakfast or brunch. Sometimes there is 3 adults and a 3 year old with us. Staff are friendly and interact well with the little one. The food is nice enough, tried the fish done in milk once and was surprisingly tasty too. Will use it again.

Ordered a breakfast, it was very nice and cannot complain about the food at all. But the tables are very close together and very flimsy, then my pet hate...a wobbly table! Some study furniture would tick the box for me.

On entering, the smell of stale fat is immediately off-putting. The menu is typical of a 1970s "greasy spoon" cafe. Unless you are into poor quality deep-fried snacks, I strongly suggest avoiding this place. The service is ok, but both the atmosphere and the food is unacceptably poor. It is a shame (and disgrace) that the seaside town of Cockenzie & Port Seton does not have a single decent restaurant.

I have always found the staff helpful and pleasant but only really stop in here for a bacon roll when I am in the area and short on time. I have tried the breakfasts before but the quality and quantity leave a lot to be desired considering the price being charged. Considering the holiday camp nearby they could really make a good go of the business if they tried a little harder.

I live a few minutes walk from this place and pass it often but had never been in before, although on passing by it always seems to do a decent trade. So after a blustery Sunday morning walk we decided to treat ourselves to the full breakfast. The decor is non existent save a few local prints for sale. The tables and chairs are cheaper than cheap wood, both our chairs and table were wobbly and the plastic table cloth was tacky to the touch. Basic menu printed then laminated, ordered two full breakfasts with coffee. Portion size was ok but even looking at it I could tell the food wasn't going to be hot or good. The fried egg was burnt underside but then cold and congealing, the beans were cold, the hash brown was cold and was covered in little pieces of hard burnt debris, almost like it had been cooked in a dirty pan. Sausage was hot but of very poor quality. All came with one slice of thin white bread that looked like it had been wafted over the toasted rather than put in it. I am convinced the coffee was just nescafe instant. The plates had seen better days and mine was chipped but what really set my stomach heaving was the huge bottles of tomato and brown sauce that were put on the table. I would hate to even place a number on how many times these bottles had been used for refilling but the faded lettering would suggest pre 2000's. They were absolutely filthy with heavily congealed lids and what looked like a solid mass at the bottom. Now I am aware that bottles are regularly refilled but to not even give the bottles a wipe and give the lids a proper wash is absolutely disgusting. I declined having sauce on my breakfast. There only seemed to be one man working and when he served us his hands didn't look clean. I knew I was going to suffer for this experience and sure enough half way home I had to run and only made it to the bathroom in time. It is a shame that because this is a wee village this 'quality' is all we can expect. Avoid like a dose of salmonella!

Exceptional chip shop in the centre of Gullane that also offers pizzas and kebabs. We had fish and chips on our first night, they were to die for. All freshly cooked to order and very well priced. We also had pizza and calzone on another visit Again all freshly made and served by very friendly staff. Highly recommend.
