Excellent Chinese and Thai restaurant been coming for years.

A stunning Chinese takeaway: very reasonably priced, beautifully presented food (even in a plastic pot!) and ever so tasty. I ordered the spicy salad with prawns and it was served prettily in a lettuce leaf so when pulled out of the tub, it was a luscious looking starter with lots of juicy prawns 🍤 The tom Yum soup was also very good with prawns. We also ordered a noodle dish and vegetables in schezuan sauce. All very flavoursome, not greasy and clearly used fresh veggies. The delivery chap was sweet and the lady on the phone took care to repeat the order and check no allergies.

The food is fresh and tasty and the service was friendly and fast I will definitely return.

Food was excellent.... service was poor, but there were only 2 ladies on, and they were ran off their feet, and they did an amazing job to say it was only them. It was one of the best chinese meals Ive had in a while,, it was worth the wait. Maybe there was a reason they were short staffed tonight, but definitely cant be critical of the 2 ladies... will go again!

The location was a bit far from the train, but easy to drive on the road. We ordered two fruit punches and 2 special meals (soup+snack+main course+coffee or ice cream), a total of £41 for 2 people. Recommended chicken mushroom soup and prawn sesame toast. They were really delicious.

Having been around the block once or twice.. I have tried nearly every Chinese in the surrounding area of Oldham. I can confirm this place takes the biscuit- very friendly staff waited on our hand and foot. The salt and pepper chicken and chips is GOATED I’ll fight anyone who says different I have had them all. Thank god I found this place

Poor service , the amount of time actually eating was approximately 20ims and we had been seated over half an hour before starters arrived. The place wasn't heated so the food went cold very quickly, ,waited 25 mins for the bill then couldn't get a receipt, food was OK but have had better from a takeaway. Will not be going back

Went for a birthday meal, we were a group of 12, 3 being kids, overall not a simple and straightforward order. Honestly the staff were so so accommodating, they even made a meal to suit my baby girl, which I couldn’t be more grateful for. They were patient whilst taking an order that was honestly all over the place. Everyone loved the food and loved the price we paid even more.

On a suburban road in Middleton, North Manchester, the Ocean Lounge is a pleasant dining experience for people who like to take their time & savour a lovely meal. Parking spaces (free) are outside on the side of the road, & inside the atmosphere is cosy. The service is very friendly, & the food includes some delicious dishes. In particular, my group liked the Chicken Sweetcorn & Hot Sour Soups 😋 ! A major plus is the cost - large main portions (we had to get doggy bags !) and with a set menu on offer at the time, we were stuffed full for around £15 per head inc. a drink !

Been here a few times over the years, lovely family run Chinese restaurant. For best value it’s definitely better to go off the set menu for £18 P/P as you end up with four courses. Don’t go if you are in a rush, service is steady which is good to let the food go down. Food is delicious. I’d say set aside 2 1/2 hours for your visit. Cocktails are amazing and really good value at 2 for £12. Staff are very friendly. Lovely local family business.

Just ordered takeaway for the 1st time from here..from the man on the phone taking the order to the delivery driver bringing our meal the service was excellent, everything was thoroughly delicious..Will definitely be ordering again.

Absolutely appalled by our visit here last night on Christmas eve. Been coming here for 8 years with family to celebrate Christmas, but next year we will be going elsewhere. I'm vegetarian and when we booked, we was promised it wouldn't be an issue. Not only did they serve me a duck spring roll... But then they proceeded to serve me with half a Lettuce and some gruel looking garbage as in photos to put in a wrap. Then thought it was fair to charge £38 for this! They tried putting 10% service charge on top, which we asked to be removed as service was a joke. We were in there for over 3 painful hours and food was cold to lukewarm at best. Absolute disgrace, ruined our night completely! My elderly dad went on to get food poisoning! Would give 0 stars if I could!

Restaurant-quality food at takeaway prices! The special vegetarian stir-fry was, I think, the most delicious thing I've ever eaten. I don't live in Middleton but I'll make a point of ordering from Ocean Lounge next time I'm in the area.

Usually order delivery from here, called in the other day and as always friendly, foods good and reasonably priced. Been ordering for years, no complaints 😊👍

This once was a public house now a Chinese restaurant couldn't fault any of it from start to finish it never got busy ,(Saturday night) the food was delicious 😋 and plenty of it ,will we return yes we will (party of 5 )

We've just tried the Ocean lounge and really enjoyed it. The food was great and the service was too. £12 for four courses before 4pm on a Sunday loads to choose from. Will definitely go again.

Fantastic food and service good value for money

This was the best Chinese I've had since my trip to China. Highly recommend the Cantonese mix starter. Will be a regular returning customer.

Had quite a large takeaway meal tonight but 3 different main courses dominated by sliced red peppers. It was as if they had been to a red pepper sale and bought the lot. Do red peppers actually have a place in Cantonese cooking? Meat Hong Kong style (with red peppers) was thick, fatty and chewy. Crispy chicken (with red peppers) was poor. Char sui pork Szechaun style (with red peppers - no chilli) was red peppery. I may be a bit mixed up now as to what was what though but you get the picture - I may have possible red pepper overload? Fried rice (yung chow) with bits and pieces was good - no red peppers - but overall a big disappointment for £6.50 or so. Unless you really like red peppers, best be cautious in ordering. Or, now, having been warned, ask for no red peppers. We have eaten here before - sit down in restaurant - and it was great, but this is night and day poorer, though I think my own poor choices didn't help. This wasn't the Ocean Lounge's finest hour. Nor mine.

We booked a table for 7pm, 24 hours coming, they said that was fine. We arrived for 7 and were seated, handed a menu, and our drink order taken. 30 minutes later, they finally took our order. 30 minutes after that our soup arrived. 50 minutes after that, we complained to a waitress as to how slow our service was being. Most of our food was cold when it arrived. The chicken and sweet corn soup was horrifically thick and my friend described it as “essentially solid”. The next dish (that took 50 minutes) arrived and was 8ish chicken skewers... that were cold, like really cold. My main arrived and I’d ordered a chicken balti (I don’t really do Chinese but my friends wanted it and so I went along), my ‘balti’ was a Chinese curry with just added seasoning. It was definitely not a balti. And unfortunately, some of the chicken breast was actually raw in the centre. We had finally paid by 10pm. We were there for 3 hours. We won’t be going again.

Really fantastic food, great portion sizes- and they're happy to package it for you to take your leftovers home! I really like the original features in the architecture, it used to be a pub and they've kept some of that, whilst also updating it to feel like a lovely restaurant. Extremely friendly staff. Not much else to be said, it was great!

Amazing vegetarian options and the staff are very welcoming! Would definitely recommend!

I've been twice before it's a lovely place very excellent food choice of Chinese or Thai food it was very quiet I can't understand why it's a five stars quality restaurant.

Went to ocean lounge this evening the meal wad excellent service was great cannot fault it.

This place was embarrassing to say the least, we booked a table for 20 giving them 12 weeks notice with food choices to go with, the food was late - there was 1 chef and 1 waitress, no beer on tap only cans, then she had the audacity to tell other customers that we had just walked in, oh and one plate of food had a hair in the middle of the food and she argued that it wasn't hers - no i would not recommend nor eat there again - disgraceful - didn't want to give any stars

Both me and my partner enjoyed evening tea out at ocean lounge its a great place we loved it! Nice and cosy inside and very clean. We went on a Tuesday evening where they do a specials menu. We got a soup each to start and then picked three items each off an appetisers menu section. Then we ordered a main each. We both finished with icecream. With drinks for both of us the total bill was less than £40! The food was lovely and great value for money. We'd recommend everyone to visit who loves a Chinese meal out. We'll definitely be returning in the near future :)

The food and service here is incredible. I am a very picky eater and I'm able to order things to be specially made, with or without certain ingredients. Best service I've ever had and at a really good price! The portion sizes are great and I always seem to end up taking some home with me!

Absolutely shocking food was full of salt and over cooked waiting time was unbelievably long very very disappointing courses came out at all different times so people was waiting while others ate I've only gave this place 1 star as I had to to leave the review WOULDNT RECOMMEND GOING HERE !!

I decided to order from ocean lounge based on the reviews. In hindsight, I wish I didn't. I feel utterly bamboozled and duped. The glowing reviews can't possibly be true! The food was utterly awful, so much so I cannot find the words to describe how utterly diabolical and disgusting it was. A complete disappointment and so inedible that I didn't bother to eat most of it. Going hungry tonight is a better option. Ocean lounge is a very poor Chinese restaurant and takeaway also masquerading as a Thai takeaway and this is even worse (didn't think it was possible!) £45 I might as well have burned or put in the rubbish. £5 delivery charge which takes the Micky (I'm only three miles away) and as I spent over £25, I got a free starter. Decent food would have been nice (probably asking too much) or no delivery charge at least. I certainly didn't want more horrendous food. Weeping Tiger was no where to be seen, jungle curry was definitely jungle hot with unknown "jungle" meat in there which was incredulously gristly. Presumably beef. Mixed starters arrived cold and were ghastly. Very oily, indescribable fillings. The salads were of miniscule proportions and were simply boiled meat loosely mixed together with incongruous flavours. Some coriander, slices of onion, hint of lime and that was about it. The chicken wings were sizeable but again incredibly oily and bland tasting. Lamb Thai curry came drowned in that ubiquitous black Chinese sauce which is reminiscent of soy sauce but nothing else. Definitely wasn't Thai that's for sure. However, the 1st prize goes to the Chinese chicken cabbage! This was the biggest insult to injury! Some porridge like consistency of god's know what in a container and in a polystyrene container, a quarter of a iceberg lettuce. I am utterly livid. I was expecting it to be so-so but ocean lounge have really outdone themselves. They've won my award of worst takeaway ever. One that I don't think will be beaten for some time if ever. Next time I'm listening to my gut feeling. I'm not going to put up with so-so or bad food anymore. I'm also going to travel somewhere with more than a handful of Google reviews, of repute and a decent website. The quality of a website can say a lot about an establishment. I can only hope that my review acts as a warning to others and that they take heed. Don't make the same mistake I did. If you must have a takeaway order it from somewhere else. The fact that I felt compelled to leave such a review should tell you all you need to know. The only nice point was that the delivery driver was friendly and courteous enough to call and confirm my address. Although in hindsight, I do wish he never delivered it.

Order a takeaway and food arrived in 1 hour after told it would be 20 minutes. Part of order not good quality and phoned up for a replacement and they said they would send it but said they wouldnt take another order off us in the future. A pity because we have been valued customers for the last 2 years
