Ocean Blue Kirkby in Ashfield

Bloody lovely, every time without fail. Consistently very goof if not excellent. Never a complaint and always a queue out of the door which should tell you something

waiting a while in the queue ,got right to the front, could see there was quite a few chips in the pan, the staff were dealing with online phone orders even while I was in the queue. they then said all the chips were spoken for for the telephone orders and they didn't have enough... I have been a customer for years and wont be going again.

Plenty of choice, especially liked the Greek dishes. Online ordering and delivery worked well. We will be repeat customers.

used this chip-shop on a regular basis. food is always piping hot and also delivered on time, delivery drivers are pleasant and the staff are always happy to serve. thanks again ocean blue

Gutted they did this to us tbh. We rang at 1 hour 45 after they’d stated 90 mins. They then said it would be 30 minutes. After over 3 hours and over 20 attempts at calling we gave up. They never once called us. Obviously we can’t justify ordering again.

Kept getting told different reasons for lateness. This is apparently the normal and someone told us their order took 2 hours to turn up.

Had the best fish and chips ever tonight. Ordered online which was easy and delivered fast, food was hot and fresh. Definitely recommend.

Visited for the first time, usually go the restaurants other branch in Sutton. Had a “Large” donner kebab on Naan. The food was tasty and fresh, and I enjoyed the Naan more than in other local restaurants, however the portion size was incredibly small, a tiny pile of kebab meat buried under the salad, lost in the middle of the bread. A MUCH more generous serving would be needed for me to visit again. My partner had chicken pie and chips, and while she enjoyed the chips, she said the pie was not great. As stated before, we usually visit the Sutton branch of ocean blue and have always found it to be excellent, but unfortunately ocean blue Kirkby falls short of the same high standards

This chippy is very good and offer a wide variety of food. Their fish is always very fresh and the staff are very friendly

Reasonably priced, uninteresting, but fills a hole. Classic chip shop stuff with reasonable portions.

I live pretty much right in the middle of Ocean Blue and Jolly Fryer and in my opinion they are the two best chippies for miles around. Ocean Blue usually wins because its easy to park outside and easier for me to get to. The staff are friendly and efficient and the food is fantastic and always goes down well. Prices are standard for a chippy so no complaints on that front. Not much more you can say except give it a try.

Upoin receommendations from friends we visited this chippy and was that impressed we have been back many times. It is always busy, but he has a lot off staff working and his selection for the size of the shop is excellent. The staff and management are all very pleasent and they always make you feel welcome.

Often use this chip shop. Delivery service is a massive plus. Always fresh, hot and very nice. Lots of menu options.

This used to be the best chip shop in Kirkby, can't stand "the jolly fryer" don't know what the hype is about and this was definitely the best. But after their refurb when they changed the shop around most customers end up queueing outside while the delivery drivers get in the way inside. They also started doing deliveries after the refurb, I really don't know why but even the food didn't taste as nice. They are now adding more Greek food to the menu which would be great but I feel they are adding too much to cope.

Great place I go once a week so must be good I normal have house special kebab but just lately found that they do onion rings

the phone in orders interfer with the normal service to the queing public waiting to be serve during busy times.This puts increase pressure on the staff.serving .I find nothing wrong with food and the staff friendly under this extra pressure.The people who make the deliveries occupy space in the shop to collect the orders,which is already a small area to stand in when busy .This would be remedy by them collecting from the back out of sight.

I think these are the best fish and chips in the area - always packed which is a good sign but they serve quickly

new to the area so trying a few new food out lets; found this chippy open when we needed it but didnt like their chips, somewhat under cooked and hard

Fresh food, well cooked, non greasy, generous portions, extremely varied menu, exceptionally clean environment and super friendly staff

Since moving to the area I have visited Ocean blue a couple of times I am always pleased with the food, I had a mixed kebab which was nice and excellent value for money. The staff are always very friendly too.

Nice food and staff. Opening times are excellent. But do check your order before leaving mines been wrong more than once.

Bought fish and chips for lunch on friday and quality was similar to Ocean blue at sutton, okay but nothing special. Portions good and staff polite.

Although the chips were a little enemic looking yesterday, the food still tasted great. I am always happier to wait a couple of minutes extra to get some colour on the chips and it is normally the way at OB2. Is it a good chippy? Absolutely - you have to queue because they are always busy, but you are not waiting 20 minutes plus like in other chip shops in Kirkby in Ashfield. Some times being "too" popular can have a negative impact?!? Not at Ocean Blue 2...keep doing what you do George!

George and his staff are always happy to see you with a smile and friendly face the food is of good quality and great tasting good value for money and some great meals on the specials board

We use this "Chippie" on a regular basis and we are never disappointed. Friendly and welcoming staff, great choice of good food at fair prices.

Surprisingly what I'd expect from a chipshop, I can't complain but neither can I praise as nothing special.

Best fish and chips around. The mushroom and onion gravy is delicious. Try the specials, they are really good value.

The relative of Ocean Blue Fish Bar in Sutton, Ocean Blue 2 often gets overlooked by Jolly Fryer but comes highly recommended. Staff are friendly, even when busy nothing is too much and the food is not only great value but lovely.
