Offer gluten-free fish and chips every Friday night, which is great as my spouse is a coeliac. I normally have the chicken breast, it's lovely. The kababs look good too. Very friendly and welcoming staff.

The staff are pleasant and very helpful. It is well worth waiting a few minutes longer for food that is cooked to order. There is a carpark, making it easy to visit.

Hi, I never usually post reviews but I went to here on Good Friday and was told repeatedly the chips were gluten-free and dairy-free and I have been very ill for the past three days following my visit. I would recommend the owner checks every ingredient is gluten-free as you can cause serious illness to people with celiac disease.

Super all round. Gluten free fish was delicious as was the non G/F with chips mushy peas great too - I didn’t try the curry sauce but family said it was delicious. ALL IN NO PLASTIC - great stuff. Paper, cardboard and recyclable lid to peas pot.

The worst chips I have ever had anywhere! I called in for fish and chips o eat on our way back home to Grimsby. The price was exorbitant, over £8 for regular chips and medium fish which the server said he had cooked and ready. By Grimsby standards, it was just an ordinary sized piece of fish. The chips were almost cold, all stuck together, seemed to have been kept from lunchtime and after eating 3 chips I threw the rest in the bin when we stopped to get petrol. To be fair the fish was nice but we will not be going to this chip shop ever again.

Used to be my regular but since moved house. Still visit when I'm in Kettering. Food tasty, all staff are lovely, chatty and very accommodating with huge portions.

Been here a few times as my daughter likes the kebabs never had one myself so cant comment on that but everytime we have bought chips they always seem to be slightly underdone need more cooking time and quite mushy. Nice friendly staff tho and clean place

Had a large order and one of our party was gluten intolerant, they prepared the whole order in separate bags for each person so there was no confusion about what people ordered. The food was great and the staff were very helpful and accommodating.

Ordered a large cod for £8.30 and I'm guessing they just gave us a normal medium piece, even so it was very small even for a medium, about the size of my hand! My normal chippy is in Kingsthorpe where a standard cod is 3 times as big as this piece from Ocean and from there is only £6.50. It is time the term 'large cod' was standardised to a specific weight. As it is, a chip shop could serve you a fish finger and call it a large cod! It would be best not to order online from Ocean as when you go to pick it up, it's already wrapped so when you get home it's a lot of hassle to take it back. Whereas if you order in the shop you can see what they're giving you. Very very disappointed on this occasion.

We've been at least 10 times and will continue going. Very friendly staff. Fresh cooked food, very tasty. Also very accommodating with our mixed salads with extra cabbage. Lots of cabbage always. Best chippy in Kettering.

The best part of this shop is definitely the staff, they are so friendly and helpful and they always make you feel welcome. The food is also really great, never had any problems with the taste, temperature, etc. and the portion sizes are really generous. The best chippy in Kettering by far.

The best fish and chip shop I've ever been to. Chips are always perfect here and I am never disappointed. The chicken doner wrap is my regular order and it is always absolutely delicious. All the staff are so helpful and friendly, especially Sid who is not only a great cook but also a top guy! 10/10 every time!

First time trying this chippy, the staff were really welcoming, very polite and friendly. The food is amazing overall, but the burger bun was quite stale. It definitely won’t stop us returning though, the chips and chicken nuggets were perfect.

I visited this fish & chips shop yesterday evening with my partner & we were extremely pleased with the service we received! The staff were so incredibly kind, especially the man in the white shirt & hat (not sure what his name is) He was so friendly & welcoming & really made our experience memorable. We sat in to eat the food as the environment was really nice & clean. The food was delicious! 10/10 for sure. We visited quite late in the evening so the staff began to clean up the shop & from what we could see, they were incredibly hygienic. They cleaned the shop very thoroughly which was assuring to see. We were not expecting such an amazing experience at a fish & chip shop so it definitely surprised us. I highly recommend this shop to everyone! The staff are extremely friendly, polite & funny. Very smiley & happy people! & the food is really flavourful & tasty! Thank you so much for making our visit so pleasant. It was a great end to our night & we will definitely be back to visit in the future 😁

Fantastic place for food, atmosphere, and most importantly quality. Really happy to discover they provide gluten free food every Friday and Saturday evening. Highly recommend for everyone, best chippy we have been to in a long time.

Been here a few times with the family Always have a full menu on offer. You can spot the returning customers. Service with a smile and reasonably priced. Food quality has never been an issue.

Went one lunchtime,ordered and paid but then told wasn't ready yet and would be 5 minutes( turned out to be 7 minutes) If I was told the sausages weren't cooked I'd have chosen something else as I don't get a lunch hour,just 20 minutes. Also I like to do the salt and vinegar. Apart from that ok.

Food was barely cooked, rushed through. Paid for cold food. Chips were raw and hard, sausages were cold. I wouldn’t go here

Just terrible.... Over the road from this chippy is another chip shop called MD's and they're so much better! Go there instead people!! They just so happened to be shut (MD's) for a bit so i tried this one instead (ocean bay) and ohh my god do I regret it. Waited a good 10 minutes for the food (just cheesey chips and a sausage) they got my order wrong but still charged me the amount for what I had actually ordered. They didn't put any cheese on but sadly i didn't realise till I'd got all the way back to work. And then the chips were tasteless and boring so Never going here again.

My husband noticed yesterday that Ocean Bay offered gluten free food on Fridays. We went along this evening. The food was stunning. It was such a treat to have “safe” fish and chips. I really enjoyed it. Thank you so much.

This evening I bought, for the first time, gluten free battered fish. My husband had ordinary battered fish. Both were delicious. The service was good - I had to wait for my GF fish to be cooked - but that was a few minutes. The servers were polite and friendly. The F&C were delicious as were the mushy peas and curry sauce. I will certainly return for Friday GF battered fish. Thank you Ocean Bay.

Absolutely disgusting service!! 40 minute wait for cold food! (53°c, I checked it when it felt cold to touch) We Only live less than 5 min drive from the shop! When I called to complain the Man laughed at me and insisted on calling me darling and showed no respect for customers at all!! Then told me I was wrong when I said the food should be above 63°c, actually if the kebabs are reheated they should actually be serving it above 83°!! Zero knowledge of food safety. Insisting I was wrong! No apology. Will be reporting to EHO as not following the laws at all! Disgraceful. Also the response recieved said missunderstanding, there was no missunderstanding at all. I was served cold food, below legal temperatures. After a 40 minute wait. Then got laughed at and told I was wrong. Also this happened to take place on Thursday 24th September when masks should be worn by CUSTOMER FACING staff. No masks were worn. So to blame the lack of food safety training on new health and safety measures I would then expect the standards to be lawful. This again was not the case. Will not be returning!

Have used them on several occasions and the food has always been good. Fish is cooked to order so always fresh and hot. Good variety of fried food on offer along with kebabs. They also do a Friday night gluton free menu and another plus is there are several parking spaces by the front door.

We called into Ocean Bay for some chips before going back to our hotel. We waited a few minutes while they finished cooking and they were delicious, the best chips I've had for a long time and we live at the seaside! The staff were so friendly and really wanted you to enjoy their food. Highly recommended.

I work in Yorkshire and live in Peterborough, but have friends and family in Kettering, so whenever I am passing through, I make a point of stopping here for something to take home and eat. The staff are SUPER nice people and really make you welcome. The place is absolutely spotless and modern. I have tried many things here and they are always tasty; but the kebabs are fantastic. The salad is always fresh and crispy, the chicken cooked in front of you on a BBQ style grill and the portions very generous. Yes, it is a chippy, but it’s a GREAT chippy. Infact, probably one of the best there is. We love it and it comes totally recommended by my whole family !! Looking forward to my next visit already.....

Popped in for a few chips as we were out walking. Didn't realise we could sit down and eat in. Extremely pleasant and helpful. Offered us the best deals n took care of us. Excellent value and fantastic food. Was pleasantly surprised as we had never used this chippy before. Will definitely go back and 100% recommend on friendliness alone. ❤

Thought as a family we would have a break from all the Christmas food and opt For cod and chips as its been a while and was looking foward to it. Sadly the cod that was (cooked to order) has no taste whatsoever and wasnt like Cod should be (what I call flakey layered)it was just a soggy mush of white goo And was loaded with water.despite just being fried the batter was also soft soggy and Horrible.the batter had become waterlogged from the fish my guess is that it was defrosted old stock.binned the lot awful and will never return.

I have been to many places for food,but not long time ago I just discovered this place,and it’s really amazing where you can have a freshly cooked for you,and the staff there is really friendly and smiling all the time you go in there.
