Very good, friendly service. Chips cooked to perfection, and you can't go wrong with a Pukka pie. Battered fish looked good, as did the rest of the cooked food.

What has happened to the prices of this chippy. Just went & purchased regular chips, small sausage,spring roll & small curry sauce charged £15.10 more fool me for paying up, I will never use again. Was lovely before new owners took over.

The food was fine but really is pricy for a chippy. I updated to 4 stars as I was writing (feeling generous) as they do offer the "mini" portions at about £7 for cod and chips, which were a reasonable size

Food is generally very nice. The fish and chips are usually not too greasy but the odd occasion it comes a bit oily. The portions are generally good too. I'd rate this chip shop 4 out of 5 overall

Capsule Review: Ages: 8 - 41 Meal:Dinner Food:Chips We had already decided on homemade curry for tea and after preparing before leaving work it was already to cook when we got in. I went to also make rice but the family decided on chips, so out went my wife to collect some. Bignal is our closest Fish and Chip shop and as such we have been using it for many years now. The staff are always friendly and the chips tonight as always were fresh, full of taste and not greasy. We had a large bag to share,the portion size was good and enough to accompany the curry for two adults and three kids.

I work not far from this little shop and have been in twice for a small portion of opened chips. They haven't disappointed. The best I have had in a while, seaside included :)

Bignalls Fish and Chip shop is what it says - a shop and not a Restaurant. I imagine the Chinese family running the business took over the name. It is family run by the father and mother and two daughters. I find them always pleasant to talk to and have told them a few jokes in the past. Their fried Fish is excellent -the small portion is large enough with a thick piece of fish and lovely batter, to satisfy most people. Indeed their large fish portion could easily feed two people and probably does. At busy times, customers may queue, order taken + payment, given a ticket number and given their order within a few minutes. The father does the frying and he is kept very busy at peak times. This delightful gem of culinary skill is located in a small group of businesses on the Thurston drive, next door to the Trading Post pub, in Kettering. I note another reviewer complained about his chips - obviously not a connoisseur of chips. I have never had cause to complain about their excellent food, which is why some customers travel miles to buy their food

Chips very poor. Small portions and very greasy and odd taste with hard chewy outer skin. This was second chance in case was an off day but not very good I'm afraid.

£2 for a tiny portion of limp chips!! you're having a laugh.... service with a smile though, but then i'd be smiling making that sort of profit.

Never had a bad meal from Bignalls. Can guarantee that the food is fresh and hot. Great service and friendly staff.

Limited menu most chip shops now have a more extensive menu with kebabs etc available. The chips were old and not pleasant

These are the best fish and chips for miles around. The normal (small?) size fish is more than enough and a portion of chips is big enough for two to share. The staff are really friendly and I always leave the shop feeling happier than when I went in!

went to bignals last night, Fantastic cod and chips, massive portion and brilliant service. Can't fault it! Been going there for ages and would drive for miles to go! it does'nt matter what time you go, it's always fresh as fresh can be! Thankyou so much!!

This is the best chippy around Kettering I even drive from Burton Latimer to get my chips from here as they can't cook them in Burton Latimer

Lovely fresh fish and chips with crispy light batter that melts in the mouth. Other items are good too the pies are fresh and tasty also good range of smaller meals and specials which are good value.

We have tried fish and chips from many chippys over the years and this is up there with the best of them! Excellent chips, not greasy & not dry, lovely fish and we occasionally have chicken, pie or sausage - all good. We are regulars as are many people from this side of town! Friendly service too.

Local chip shop located just off the A14 in a small complex of shops. Adequate parking. Excellent fish and chips plus all the ususal chip shop fayre, friendly staff and good sized portions.
