OB's Diner & Takeaway in York

I ordered avocado on toast with an egg it came out cold with brown avocado and no egg. I informed the staff the egg was not on my plate and they took it back. In the meantime my friend had finished her sandwich by the time it came out again. Wish I had not bothered waiting a rock hard egg arrived on the same cold toast and avocado. I told the staff it was disgusting and didn’t even get an apology. Paid for my cups of tea and left. If in York DO NOT visit this place, food rubbish and staff are not at all interested. Plenty of other bars/rest to visit. Shame I couldn’t score extremely terrible.

Staff trying their best, but beer didn't seem to be kept very well. Couple of pints had been left at our table and ours were pretty rough. Round Christmas market time, must be a nightmare trying to keep up with folks grabbing a quick drink coming in or out of the station, so feel for the folk working here.

The pub would be fantastic. Super whimsical and wholesome. The staff ( a lady bartender) I’ve genuinely never met a ruder set of people in my life. Do not want to be there and hate their life. A group of men were singing jingle bells in the corner; not loud, not obnoxiously. They were screamed at for being loud and they had to get out or else they’d be escorted off of the premises. Another man was on his phone, despite the no phones signs, but had said he was just making a quick call as his daughter was in the hospital and they called “Antony Smith” to “escort him off of the premises” as it was “against the law” and at multiple times, threatened calling the police. Not sure what restrictive covenant is on this premises to have this legality in place. But I would love to learn. Upon leaving, myself, a female, and two other females, that Antony Smith man, threatened to follow us ”wherever we go” which was strange, and uncomfortable despite feeling very safe though out the rest of York. Cheap and cheerful Sam Smiths pub, changed its name back from The Handsome Cab ,always been a popular drinking establishment in the city centre.

Fuimos con amigos. tuvimos algunos pasteles agradables, y choc caliente. todo agradable, y el personal educado. lugar estaba limpio. volvería a ir cuando en la zona.
