Oblo in Scottish Borders

The best kind of Bistro with a great atmosphere, comfortable and casual. The service is friendly and efficient and I had the best seafood pasta I have ever tasted. No heavy sauces but perfectly cooked spaghetti and mussels flavoured with herbs and pepper-outstanding!

Interesting that the best eateries in Eyemouth are owned by descendants of the Italian immigrants to Scotland , but not surprising . We had a lovely meal here on a recent visit to the east coast harbour town and experienced exceptional service from the young woman who served us . She found us a quiet and comfortable corner in the restaurant , which as it was Sunday night , was full and noisy . The food was good too and were just disappointed that the restaurant was closed on the next two days we were there .

We visit regular and always have a lovely meal. Staff always very helpful and friendly. We would definitely recommend.

First visit yesterday evening and pleasant surprised.Nice atmosphere, service was good, efficient and pleasant.Soup was a delicious tomatoe soup with warm bread. The main of Italian burger in a brioche bun was tasty and satisfying. Salted caramel ice gelato was heavenly.No complaints at all, although I noted the steak was a pricey £28 and for that price I would want sheer perfection and I haven't paid that even in a fine dining restaurant.All in all, yes I was quite satisfied and most certainly will return.

Menu was a real choice of unusual dishes. On the whole the food was good, although note the prices do not include salad or green veg. Pudding was horrible. Panacotto destroyed by granola and enough caramel to ice a whole gateau.

The food is quite good. The chilli gamberoni starter was excellent with just the right amount of heat. The seafood pasta was perfectly cooked but disappointing as it was described as mixed seafood which it certainly wasn't. Just 3 very small bits of fish sitting on top of the pasta. Expected more for £14.95!!!

Lovely decor. Friendly staff. Food was ok but overpriced for what it is. £12 for a pretty standard pizza. Fish and chips a bit dry then having to pay £1.50 for mushy peas on top of £12.95.

Great staff, atmosphere and just a nice way to spend an evening. Will definitely come back and recommend Oblo to others. Chris was very attentive and helpful.

Called in on a Tuesday for a morning coffee having had a nice stroll around the town. Enjoyed sitting upstairs on the balcony in the full sun, was warned to be careful as the seagulls may attack our food but luckily did not. Went for the fancy ice cold coffee cocktail and the famous scones we had read about on trip advisor - Cherry today. Great value for money and very enjoyable

We enjoyed pizzas and steak, seated outside with our dog while on holiday. Really tasty food, and super-friendly staff. The gentleman who served us was attentive, chatty, and even brought a bowl of water for our dog. Lovely food, and the service made it all even better. Great experience.

Firstly the menu seemed to be greatly reduced from what was on their website. We asked about this and were told they had lost a chef (hopefully not to Covid?). I suppose that worried me a little but we carried on as we'd booked already. Might have been prudent to mention that when we booked tbh. It's mainly pizzas, bruchettas, breads, fries, nachos, a meat dish and a couple of pasta dishes. Pasta dish was fine, well actually it was tiny, took up just under half the dish. The inclusion of a raw egg to add to the carbonara is indeed a traditional one, however it's meant to be done at the point of cooking where the pasta is super hot. To consider putting the raw egg into the pasta at the table where it is now just 'warm' seems an odd one to me. Suffice to say it was set to the side. Bruschetta was nice. Fries were nice (with added Schwartz cajun sprinkle... We use it at home) Pizzas? they were distinctly average. Actually they were sadly below average and not a patch on somewhere like Hector's in Dunbar, or Civerinos or Vittoria in Edinburgh.  Just a bit tasteless with a papery base, not really sure but it wasn't an authentic Italian pizza at all. Disappointing.Oh and you'd think a waitress in an Italian inspired restaurant would know how to correctly pronounce Bruschetta (a hard 'c') , or know what a Mornay was. She didn't. Not her fault, but management should train staff properly. The description of the special fish dish didn't sound very appetising as it was read verbatim off the back of the order pad. I suppose the biggest disappointment was the fact a lot of the nice sounding pasta and meat dishes weren't on the new restricted menu, plus this is not a cheap restaurant and if you want nice food with mains around £12-£14 a dish then you'd be better heading to somewhere like Herringbone in North Berwick. We had high hopes, we genuinely did, and I'm not sure if it's the lack of a regular chef or something more basic, but it wasn't a great experience. Not 'complaint' worthy just really mediocre. The marketing is good, the online menu sounded interesting, but I hate to say it but sadly we'll not return.

We had a lovely waiter who was friendly and helpful. Nice modern atmosphere. Very nice food, cooked well. Good selection of drinks too! Lovely visit!!

Stopped here on route back to Yorkshire. The service and food was excellent. The lady that served us was very welcoming, friendly and polite. We sat on the outside balcony in the warm sunshine, table service was speedy and efficient. Husband had pizza, he said it was the best tastiest pizza cooked to perfection. I had fish and chips which were also cooked to perfection. Lovely place to eat, highly recommended.

we attended oblo the first day we arrived in eyemouth and had some drinks. its a great wee bar. we booked later in the week for dinner and werent disappointed .food was great,cocktails fab and the staff were amazing, i was tired watching them work so hard to keep thier customers happy! it also sells local drinks and delicacies in its delicatessen which looked very tempting!

Visited for lunch on Father’s Day, food, service and atmosphere was great so much so we came back for dinner later in the week when we were on holiday. Dinner was excellent spaghetti carbonara was delicious and my husband had Lamb Barnsley Chop which was excellent. The staff are friendly and efficient. Definitely be back.

We visited here twice whilst staying for a week in Eyemouth, and both times the food and service were very good. On the first occasion my husband had pasta carbonara, and whilst I love this dish I am glad I didn't have it as it was served with a raw egg, to be mixed in with the pasta. I know this is how it should be done but the pasta wasn't quite hot enough to cook the egg. My husband was fine with it, but it wouldn't have suited me. Both times I had garlic gamborini - gorgeous, and steak which was very good. We had Geocopazzis vanilla and tablet ice cream for our dessert, really delicious.

We were staying the night in Eyemouth and came here for dinner. We had the seafood/fish platter which was really good. Then the orange and almond cake which was delicious. The waiter was very efficient and friendly and all in all a very enjoyable evening.

Me and my wife came here last week while stopping in coldingham, we were really impressed with every aspect, the food was delicious, the selection of drinks were enviable (punk IPA etc). Also dropped on the night of the quiz, packed full of friendly people, the staff could also not be more friendly, sadly we didn't win but we will definatly back one day for another try

Visited oblo with friends lately for lunch. When we first arrived, a server came to ask for our drinks order and was visibly irritated with us when we didn’t immediately know what we wanted to order (there was no drinks menu either!). Unfortunately she was a little rude throughout the meal also. Personally the cocktail I had was lovely when it arrived (Oblo Passion) and I really enjoyed it. The main courses were absolutely delicious - I had the small size carbonara pizza (£12.50) with hand cut chips, and both were divine, if not a little expensive. My ice cream for dessert was a small portion and £4.50 for 2 small scoops, but it was delicious! The cheesecake wasn’t particularly good which was a shame, as I’ve always enjoyed other desserts here (the brownies are particularly good!)Overall we had a good meal and a nice time. I’ve been many times for coffee, and I’d definitely go again for coffee and some of their cake. Apart from the first server’s disappointing attitude, there was a nice atmosphere in the place and I did really enjoy my main. Because of the price for full meals, I probably wouldn’t go regularly for lunch or dinner, but may for a special occasion.

Wife and I on a day visit to eyemouth and looking for some lunch. Liked look ofbthisbokace and menu albeit maybe slightly more expensive than we would have wanted. Any we went in and got seated upstairs outside on the verandha. Place was smart and clean with helpful polite and efficient staff. We ordered the peppers and the spicy herring and shared these as starters - both looked and tested great. My wife had the polenta whiIst I had the Italian burger for main courses. Both were beautifully presented and both tasted fantastic - burgers can often be a disappointment- overcooked and dry but this was moist and cooked perfectly. We had a bottle of chilled white viognier as well which was perfect with our food. Overall ca. £60 which was a little higher than planned but was beautiful and worth pushing the boat out a little for to eat in such a nice place with good staff and great food - we will return.

Had dinner here last night , it was a lively atmosphere with a pub quiz on a Wednesday. The staff are friendly and quick to serve no waiting around here ! Drinks brought quickly to the table. The bruschetta starter with cray prawns was lovely as was fried cheese . Burger excellent and sirloin steak cooked well on a grill and peppercorn sauce on the side . Situated in harbour area of Eyemouth with outside terrace . Good food and drink great for a night out .

Fantastic visit on a Saturday evening, COVID safe and we felt valued as a customer with lovely food and drink. Reasonably priced and friendly staff with a great glimpse of Eyemouth Harbour if you’re seated on or near the balcony!Will be back on our next trip to Eyemouth.

Just wanted a coffee and popped in as it had just opened. Much better than chain coffee shops and much cheaper too. Less than £9 for two coffees and two fresh and delicious scones. Staff were friendly and efficient. Would highly recommend.

Went in for a drink on the balcony as it looked like a lovely place. Despite being welcomed in and directed to a table, left after 10 minutes with a server wandering around and not even looking in our direction. There were only about 4 tables taken. Heaven help them if the place gets busy! Go to The Ship instead where we were served right away.

We are big fans of Oblo, the food is always excellent, particularly the seafood platter, and it’s not just the food we love, the staff are fantastic, always friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is excellent. We have missed being able to visit during lockdown and therefore were pleased to hear of the takeaway service to celebrate special events. We ordered the Burns Night meal for 5 of us and were delighted with it. The quality, taste and variety of the menu was as good as the offer in the bistro, totally delicious. In fact we were all so full we had to leave the pudding until the next day! Thanks to Kathryn, Kerry and the team.

I’ve eaten at Olbo many times, and am always impressed by the friendliness, efficiency, professionalism and warmth of the staff, not to mention the excellent food. However this weekend we tried the Christmas takeaway menu, and strongly recommended it! Had the salmon pate with crostini, which was really tasty. Then the fish pie, which was full of crayfish and haddock- very sumptuous indeed! Please try this menu and support Oblo!

Came here for drinks with my Family. A lovely Bar Restaurant,Great service from the staff, lovely Cappacino coffee and hot chocolate. Great atmosphere. We will come again A+++++

Having arrived at just after 11 on a Sunday we were surprised it took about 30 minutes to rustle up a full Scottish and 15 pancakes served with what seemed more like golden than maple syrup. All the pancakes were cold. Of the items on the full Scottish only the tomato and bacon were properly cooked. The egg and lorne sausage appeared to have spent some time under a heater bulb to keep them warm but had consequently suffered from overheating. The mushroom looked like it needed some serious rehydration. It was astonishingly hot as well - the only item on my plate that was. The toast - white shop bread, nothing else available. Really? In a place that prides itself on its food?I suspect that the food would have been a lot better if it had been served promptly. There were more staff than customers on the premises at the time so why the abysmally slow service?

Visited this wonderful restaurant whilst visiting Eyemouth with my partner. Very nice atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent food. Can't wait for next visit!Cocktails were really nice (only complaint here is the cocktail list is a tad small). Food was gorgeous. I had pizza (real shocker there...) and it was delicious. My partner had the calzone which was "amazing"If you're in the area, its well worth a visit.

Had a delicious seafood pasta. Staff very helpful and knew exactly what was in each dish we asked about. Lovely surroundings and very safe. Definitely will visit again.

not been to Oblo for years, so made a return visit, glad we did, a great meal for three of us, the staff worked brilliantlly under the conditions Covid 19 upon us imposed, thank you date of visit 27 th sept

Second visit in 2 weeks, a great place to catch up with friends. Very friendly staff, amazing food and a great range of drinks. They will make up any cocktail you like from scratch. A seat out on the large patio is a must in the better weather

Food and cocktails were lovely! Staff seemed very busy with paperwork etc and maybe missed the little bit more attention to the customer as one dessert was missed and no one came to ask if the food was ok once served, however, they were pleasant and I would go back.

Please this place is so well worth a visit or two or three. Lovely clean place and from the moment you go in you fill in a track and trace slip and post it in their box on the bar. You then sit at an allotted table and the friendly staff come iver to take your order. Really anything you order here is lively, try the scones delicious, and very reasonably priced. If it is a warm day there is a balcony you can sit out on and watch the world go by...Will definately be visiting here again.

Visited here for my husbands 50th as we were staying at the caravan park. A small mix up with his balloons was fixed quickly and we sat for our meal. Food wqas lovely and staff very attentive. Will return

Very welcoming first-floor restaurant. Attractive, varied menu with an emphasis on seafood. Service was punctual and polite. The food was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. Highly recommended.

We stayed in Eyemouth for 1 night and chose to have dinner at Oblo.Such a great restaurant, amazing food, and very pleasant staff. Couldn’t fault a thing. If you love seafood, you must try this beautiful restaurant.We sat on the balcony and were watched by Seagulls - amazing.

Popped on on a hot day and got an outside table, enjoyed the beer and prosecco. View lovely. Unfortunately had a table booked elsewhere which was gutting as menu and food looked stunning. Maybe next time

Had lunch here today. Staff very friendly and efficient. All wearing masks and very careful of social distancing, plenty of room between customers and asked to give details for track and trace on entering. Felt very safe. and relaxed. Food was amazing, had the seafood platter for two, lemon sole was so good and so was the mackerel. Would definitely eat there again.

Amazing food for a great price. It’s clear that a lot of money had been spent on the place recently. The service and the decor were brilliant and I would strongly recommend the garlic prawns!

Ate in the restaurant tonight and after reading previous reviews had high hopes but found the food only average. I had Bruschetta to start and the toasted bread was tasty but only had 3 small plum tomatoes halved on top, however they were different varieties. I also had Amatriciana for mains but found it fairly bland. We always share a bottle of red wine when out for a meal, however at £35 for the cheapest bottle of red we decided not to bother. It was a shame as the bar and atmosphere are good and the staff are attentive.

Had a great experience at oblo, the staff were so welcoming and friendly in this cozy modern restaurant. The food was excellent we had a delicious seafood pasta full of fresh fish and prawns. Then we had cocktails just to finish the night can't wait to come back.

My husband and I booked a table whilst in Eyemouth for a few days. Service was so good and our food was excellent. Hubby had seafood pasta (cleaned his plate) I had a burger with hand cut chips it was delish. Strawberry daiquiris were so good! Such a lovely restaurant,clean,modern and very cozy. Staff are super friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Quite disappointed. We’ve eaten at Oblo probably a dozen times over the last four or so years. We come to Eyemouth, Coldingham and St Abbs for a break from work and a change of scene. Normally Oblo is solid and it would be my first recommendation for a meal and the Rialto would be my second for a coffee & cake. But something went wrong tonight. The four stars reflects the overall, not tonight’s disappointment.We called last week to make reservations knowing how busy things could be. We were greeted nicely and sat promptly, drinks orders taken efficiently and food orders taken too. The drinks arrived and then after a while so did the food. It was largely all lovely and cooked well. The choices were bambino pizza with veggies rather than chips. Chilli king prawns for The Mrs and fish of the day for me (Cajun haddock and some king prawns). We all chose veg.So the issues, complete lack of attention after food arrived and no offers of a second drink until we’d ordered deserts (too late).The chilli prawns weren’t chilli, they were grilled and served with chilli oil which was really mild.The veggies were served with lemon and sage butter and this wasn’t asked for nor explained. Needless to say the kids didn’t go for it.The tomato sauce on the kids pizzas was too salty.The deserts were two chocolate ice creams and a brownie to share. They were tasty enough but then after that I had to virtually shout excuse me at a server to get attention to get the bill.When the bill arrived the presentation was so complex with the dine out to help out discount I couldn’t really see if it was correct. I think the soft drinks were not adjusted but the food was. I thought soft drinks were in, but as it was only a few £ I didn’t quibble and we left for a walk on the beach.We will be back again and hope for better form.

Had a great meal at the Oblo. Very contemporary decor with good service and an Italian style menu with the occasional Scottish twist! The food was very good quality and prices reasonable.

We visited Oblo last week what we had was well presented and well cooked no complaints there What we would say was there is it much to choose from the menu is limited a lot of fried food (chip fries roast potatoes) served with meals Not much choice if you want to be healthy no veg or potato options Could do with an update

The service was excellent. Good safety measures and customers spaced out. The food was just amazing. Absolutely delicious. We had a child with us and they have a great kids menu. We shared the seafood platter between 2 and it was fabulous. One of us had the fish of the day - again, delicious. Would definitely go back again.

First lunch out since lockdown and food at Oblo still as delicious as before!!All 3 main courses were great but the Fish catch of the day ~sole & prawns was definitely the best of the 3So much so that my sister ordered 3 to take away for an evening treat at her daughters & they all thought it was amazing!!As always staff lovely & cheery with nothing too much trouble and all Covid hygiene levels spot on!!Highly recommend for food or drinks with seating areas both inside & out.

Very friendly, helpful waitress and good service, slightly slow but it was a busy lunchtime. Food was nice. Slightly concerned about lack of Covid measures i.e. no staff masks or visors and staff very close to customers. The way the government discount was applied was very confusing and not how other restaurants I have visited have applied it.

We visited as part of Eat Out to Help Out and experienced a few issues. Firstly they did not apply the discount correctly as we were 4 people who had no alcoholic drinks so should have had 50% off the bill up to £80 and £10 per diner thereafter. Instead of this we received no discount off some items. The explanation offered did not make sense (something about having to manually work out if we would end up with more than £10 off per person, but we were not close).On top of this no masks were worn by staff who approached tables with no distancing and tables appeared too close together. It honestly felt like pre-covid in there, and they will be lucky to avoid an outbreak which would be bad for business and the community.The food was good, and staff friendly. It was l well priced (due to discount) but we would not rush back unfortunately and as people who visit the area several times a year hopefully management will reflect on this and improve things.

Came for mid morning coffee and cake and liked it so much came back for dinner on the same day! The food is top quality, fresh and has those extra touches like Scottish tablet on the side of our hot drinks. Scones sold out early so we both had tray bakes. Large portions and reasonably priced. Mine was delicious. We were lucky to get a table in the conservatory to watch the world go by. For dinner I had duck with celeriac starter, fish of the day and figs for desert finished off with liquor coffee. All beautifully cooked and presented. Husband had garlic mushrooms, calazone (his favourite) and cheesecake. All fabulous. Staying in Eyemouth for a week and needed a change from deep fried offerings at other restaurants. This is a classy place to dine with lovely decor and great service.It was so good we have booked again!

Tried the top 4 rated restaurants in Eyemouth over a week and Oblo blew them all clean out of the water. Immediately re-booked another visit.

A great little restaurant. Immaculate food, staff and surroundings. A little gem and if you dont come, its your loss!

Went in for drink and watch the rugby. Had lunch was really lovely, staff all very nice and friendly. Go on give it a try you know you want too.

Last year I gave Oblo 4/5 stars. That's being downgraded to 3/5. It's still clean, it still has the best access for customers with disabilities out of every bar in Eyemouth.BUT...it now seems to be understaffed some evenings. A wait of 5 minutes when you are the only customer at the bar isn't ideal, especially when there doesn't appear to be anyone requiring table service for food.If you are just out for a few drinks, aren't bothered about food and don't have access issues, the cheaper Fleet Bar around the corner is probably better suited to your needs. It's a shame I have had to downgrade my rating for Oblo...but there you are.

We booked a couple of hours ahead for a Party of 8 including 2 children and Mum who has a bit of trouble with stairs so was relieved to find a lift up to the restaurant. The menu was very varied with a great choice and daily specials, nice wines and cocktail menu. There appeared to be a formal dining area ( where we were) but also an bar/lounge area for drinks/food. All in all a great meal, lovely atmosphere, and attentive staff.

Hi, if your a chip lover this is the place, its not 5 star, its a cafe / tea room, we just wandered in, didnt want anything heavy so we choose latte and black coffee, chilli chips and hand cut chips, and mayonaise, they came in great time, the latte also came with a bit of tablet, MMMM without a doubt brilliant, chips were FABULOUS, tablet with latte great, and as for staff, quick very efficient,POLITE, and when i asked for another piece of tablet the girl brought a small box with several pieces. SO FOR ME IF EVER I AM PASSING EYEMOUTH I WILL DROP IN FOR THE CHIPS,STAFF COURTESY, ENJOY THE CHIPS SHOULD YOU DROP IN.

Jordan our server was really nice and friendly.The kids menu was really good, different options to other places which was nice to see.Lots of options for adults too, I had steak frites - the steak was cooked to perfection.The white chocolate and morello cherry tart was simply superb.Will definitely go back and highly recommend a visit.

Went for lunch after reading reviews on trip advisor. The food was so good. Best moules mariniere I have had. Simple ingredients but the chef knows how to get the best out of them to create beautiful dishes. Waitresses lovely as well

Leckeres Essen, gemütliche Atmosphäre. Wir waren unten im Pub, da Hunde nicht ins Restaurant dürfen. Speisekarte ist aber die gleiche und es war voll in Ordnung. Wir haben leckeren Fisch gegessen und die Bedienung war sehr freundlich.

Ate at Oblo several times during our stay in Eyemouth, the food is terrific, staff are lovely and we enjoyed being able to dine in the sunshine on the terrace. However...Oblo allow smokers to use the tables on the terrace which was something we didn't enjoy. Would have given 5 stars otherwise.

We arrived without booking and recieved a warm welcome. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Food was excellent and plentiful. Would recommend and would definately go back.

Always nice to find a place that is decent and as a family of 6 we all enjoyed our meal - a bonus! we ordered a mix of food - pizzas, seafood pasta, haddock goujons and all was nicely presented and tasted good. Well done

We have been here several times last week and every diner was lovely. The food is good, the staff is very kind and the food was served very quickly.

Absolutely amazing food, we had from both the bar menu & restaurant menu, enjoyed by adults and 4 year old. Good choice of drinks and great service. Would highly recommend

Went in with the kids for evening food. The menu was quite limited in choice so ordered steak. For the taste and amount of food it was very over priced, and kids choices poor compared to the sole pub just along the harbour. Kids had pizza and fries, very basic for the price of it. Wine was great, and service also great, shame about the limited menu.

Delicious food with a twist from the norm. Better than most places we've eaten in big cities. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. Good value too.

We were a party of 10 with different tastes and everyone enjoyed their meals, pizza was very good, as was the carbonara (refreshingly NOT a creamy mess like many places make it - a proper egg and parmesan dish as it should be).

Had a lovely meal here for mtly dads birthday. Food was hot and delicious. Staff attentive and good atmosphere in the restaurant. Would recommend as a nice place to just have a couple of drinks and bar snack or meal. Thanks Oblos we will be back.

We had a lunch meal at Oblo, my favourite place in Eyemouth. The staff are always so friendly and pleasent and the food is simply great.

Had a lovely lunch ,chose the sea food pasta which was excellent I was also able to get a small portion which was ideal for a lunch time. The service is brilliant ,the staff are so helpful and nothing is too much trouble.The customers at the next table were having the sea food sharing platter which looked amazing.Have been to Oblo many times and the food has always been first class. Great restaurant ,will be returning soon

My friends and I had a meal in Oblo this week. We were very impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the food. The halibut was delicious and our desserts were lovely.

No pretensions here. Ok, there is a seafood platter and a few on the specials board but this is basically a pizza/pasta/burger/steak/chips joint. However.... the quality is good, the portions are good, the service is good. Oh, and they are upstairs from Giacopazzi's ice cream place. Go for a quality fill-up.

I had the rip and dip, which is a garlic pizza, chips, garlic mayo and sweet chilli sauce. It was really nice. My sister got the carbonara pizza and enjoyed her dinner too

Deliciously food had by my friend and me. Service a bit slow unfortunately and no one checked in with us at all once our food had been served to see if it was ok or if we needed anything else with it.

We visited here on a rather rainy Wednesday teatime, two adults and one child of 11. We were greeted by a very friendly waitress behind the bar, who advises us to sit anywhere and she would be over soon. Ordered haddock goujons with fries and one with hand cut chips and a burger. Food came out quickly and was piping hot. Goujons were huge, freshly battered and tons of melt in the mouth fish. Fries were crispy and tasty but the hand cut chips were amazing, almost like a roast tattie but as a chip! We then had a jug of cocktail which was very tasty and not overpoweringly strong. Some of the dishes were a little on the pricey side but in this case you definitely get what you pay for. Would recommend for couples and families, staff extremely friendly, smiley and helpful and nothing too much trouble.

Arrived for lunch with my hubby the restaurant is really lovely, but not friendly, I tried to order a child's portion of fish & chips for myself as I'm 61 young! and cannot eat larger portions of food, I was told No its only for up to 8 years old, I asked buy why are you bothered what age has it, as I'm paying for what I can eat.

Visited after wandering round in the rain had a great cocktail then we stayed for evening meal . Food was good staff very friendly

We were a party of 4 - all vegan. We had a selection of starters - nuts, olives, sun dried tomatoes and peppers all at £3 a plate which was a little pricy for what you got. My husband and I chose the aubergine steak which was really delicious but was certainly overpriced as mentioned by a previous reviewer. My daughter and son chose the pizza which was ok but not amazing. There was only one real dessert option which my daughter ordered. The waitress took the order along with our coffee orders. The coffees came quickly but it was about 25 minutes later that the dessert finally arrived. I asked the waitress if she had forgotten it and she said No - but the kitchen staff had! No apology was offered. The restaurant itself is very nice with a relaxed ambience. There were a few other tables when we arrived but there was no-one else there by the time we left so it wasn't as if the waitresses were busy serving other people. We were served by different waitresses over the course of the evening - I prefer to be looked after by the same person. One of the waitresses was pleasant but the other staff seemed indifferent. There didn't appear to be any managing staff around or I would have spoken to them at the time and as it was just the waitresses who had served us there didn't seem to be much point in complaining. Overall, the place is relaxed and comfortable, it's great that they have vegan options available as these are very limited in this area however service and value for money need improvement.

I think Oblos is very overpriced but as its a good venue in an area with limited options.... What can you say!

We had lunch here during a trip to Eyemouth and really enjoyed the food. We sat out on the terrace and soaked up the sunshine. The menu has a lot of choice and it was difficult to decide what to have, but we were both in the mood for seafood. I asked about that day's seafood pasta and was told which types of fish and seafood it contained. I decided on that while my husband had haddock goujons.

Popped in for drinks and there was a good atmosphere and caught sight of a few plates of food being served so we decided to pop back for a meal at lunchtime the next day. Friendly and quick service and probably the average price for a meal. I have marked down one star as they were charging for mushy peas as an extra....good grief they are pennies....just add them to the plate ! The meal we had though was very nice and piping hot.

We wanted a quick pre-theatre meal. We hadn't booked, but were quickly offered a table and brought menus. As vegetarians, we opted for the pasta and mushroom dish. This was very tasty, substantial and well-presented. Some of Giacopazzi's ice-cream is a must for dessert.

I had scallops & chorizo, followed by chicken, and both courses were absolutely delicious! I wasn’t going to have a pudding, but was recommended the ice-cream cheesecake. Wow! So delicious! I very nearly didn’t manage to finish it, but am pleased to say I did.

cant thank the bar staff enough for they're amazing service on Saturday. my friends and I hadn't seen each other in a while and got together for some birthday drinks which you can imagine turned abit messy, but the staff couldnt have been more attentive, friendly, patient and went that extra mile for my friends birthday . they really did make our day so special and one to remember. thank you so so much and apologies for any mess we made No1 Bar Staff!

A lovely afternoon having a birthday lunch with the family. I loved the new decor, the varied dishes we chose all excellent and the staff attention impeccable! much improved service. We shall be back soon. Well done!
