Tasty cafe food, lovely specials. I had the goulash to takeaway and the prawn salad while sitting in. My nephew had the burger, my son, the chicken curry and my mum, the tuna cheese baked potato. The portions where massive and all the food perfectly made. The coffee was the best I've had.

Like a little oasis off the A1! Peaceful tranquil atmosphere in an unbelievably lovely location when it's so close to the road! A fabulous collage of old movie fanzine covers greets you as you enter and the cakes looked homemade and delicious . We only made a fleeting stop for drinks but next time will linger longer. And the loos are both spotless and spacious!

Stopped off for a break on the way back down South after hearing it's dog friendly. Queued up inside with my dog sat beside me so I could order and we could eat outside. Approached by a waitress and told I couldn't bring my dog inside, when I stated I just wanted to order at the counter and eat outside I was told the dog had to be outside! I was next in line to be served so would have been there another 3 minutes at the most! Suffice to say we won't be back.

A charming cafe, set in countryside off the A1. The homemade soup was delicious and the staff were very pleasant. I only have one negative comment, which is that the disabled loo does not have a raised seat or grab bars. I think I scared my fellow diners with my shrieks of pain as I tried to stand up. It wouldn’t cost much to put in a seat raiser and toilet frame and would be very much appreciated by those of us who need it.

Called in as a break in our journey to Edinburgh, for a pit stop cuppa and a bite to eat,an afternoon breakfast, having done the same previously. Food is cooked to order, and is spot on. Some reviews I have read appear to want five star service, and Savoy style food, but if you look at the place for what it is a sort of family run roadside cafe with that in mind you won't go far wrong. Minor issue is the parking, which is gravel, but there is a hard standing space for two "Disabled parking", although it's a bit uneven, something of note for wheelchair users. As such you have to go in the exit and the low ramp could do with a look at, it's ok but a bit tight in places, maybe could be a bit wider, and with nothing to stop you going over the edge. There are no disabled toilets, but there is a "Council" toilet block not too far away. Not that we have used it. Whilst you can not cater for everyone, a suggested improvement would be to "level" the Disabled Parking area, as whilst it's fine for those who may use a stick, depending upon where you park transfer to from a wheelchair may be difficult, as it was for my Wife, who has to use a transfer board, and we found she was in a hollow when we came to get back in the car. So it was a bit more of an uphill struggle than she is used to. But as I state you carn't cater for everyone.

The menu is extremely varied and there is lots of value for money. Do not expect a small portion here everything is jumbo size. The seating area was clean and tidy. The decor is quirky. There are children’s highchairs available. The staff were very friendly and made sure we had everything. Stopped for a coffee and was delighted that the owners have taken the trouble and expense to create an exclusive ‘dog cafe ‘ called The Dugoot. Our dog Daisy loved it and the coffee was great too.

We had some excellent haggis on our way back south from Scotland .. food always good on our stopovers .. the disabled toilet facilities and access could do with some minor work but overall will stop there again when next in the area

We stopped here on our way back from Edinburgh. After asking if we could bring our dog inside, we were shown to the little “doghouse”, a lovely summerhouse with tables and seating. The waitress put the heating on for us straight away and it was lovely and cosy. The food was very nice and plenty of it. I would definitely stop there again and can really recommend it. The staff were lovely and the overall service was great.

Superb pub. Popped in for some great pub grub on a Saturday evening. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, good value food and two cask pumps showcasing an independent brewery. The kind of pub you wished you lived near. Highly recommended.

My friends and I were starving post 9:30pm and found this place open. We tried their kebabs and wraps and it was so good. Definitely recommend the shish wrap (the portions are HUGE). Thank you for giving us free fries and the water your kindness was everything for us ladies that day 🤍😭

I have stayed here on numerous occasions recently due to work commitments. Both Curt & Susie are fabulous hosts & I can not recommend this hotel enough. The rooms are modern, comfortable & clean. The honesty bar is amazing & comfortable to chill in, along with the turntables playing vinyl which I loved. I want to keep it all to myself so I can stay when I want , but that would be selfish of me. Congratulations to this lovely family running an amazing hotel where they are nothing but kind , courteous & look after their guests. Best hotel I have ever stayed in & can't wait to visit again in 2025 & catch up.
