Excellent mothers day visit the staff were working super hard as it was very busy yes we had to wait abit for our meals but it was well worth the wait the carvery was lovely big shout out to all the team on your hard worked.

Unhappy Mothers day! Management needs to be changed here. Very long queue at till to be served, never heard a line of people cheer when they moved 1 place forward in a queue. Wasn't told of a wait on food at till, but food took 45 mins to come out, some people had finished their carvery by the time other mains came out. Waited another 35-45 minutes for desserts. Apple betty was warm on outside, cold and raw inside, custard had a skin on it. If you know you have full bookings, surely you would have enough staff and in the correct areas (e.g. tills and kitchen), having to Apologise to my Mum on Mothers day was a new low, Thanks the oaks!

As with most places it feels short staffed but the staff are brilliant. The menu and offers are fantastic. Great especially on Mondays for families.

3rd visit recently and food of poor standard, mixed grill tuff, fatty and burnt onion rings on all 3 visits. Chicken on all visits very tuff too. Server Maggie was excellent, friendly and on ball. Can’t fault any of the front staff.

Was fantastic food and the waitress maggie was lovely, well mannered and making sure I had everything. Definitely be coming again

Food was probably the worst I’ve ever had. Staff cold and miserable. Seemed like it had been cooked in 2 week old grease. Don’t know how they have the cheek to charge what they do and serve disgusting food. Plates were also dirty. Would never eat here again

Hi used to go to Brewers fayre at Postwick every week until they shut which was really disappointing as the manager Tannia who was there was amazing, made you feel really welcome and her service was outstanding! So my husband and I started coming to the Oaks Brewers Fayre but just not the same whole atmosphere is totally different, food and service not bad but nowhere as good😊Well what can I say I walk into the Oaks 0Brewers Fayre and Tannia is working there what a surprise! All I can say is Tannia being there change the atmosphere and maybe now things will change and become more better 😊

Lunch Review - March 13, 2025 Today, I had lunch featuring a traditional Beef & Ale Pie, followed by an Apple Crumble. Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed by a friendly staff who took my order. The atmosphere was notably relaxing, with a lunchtime crowd primarily made up of the older generation. As I awaited my meal, I took a moment to appreciate the surroundings. The restaurant boasts a reasonably sized car park, and the dining area exudes a cozy and inviting ambiance. Additionally, I found the male restroom to be clean and well-maintained. When I dug into my pie, I did come across a lump of fat, which is one of my pet peeves. However, aside from that, I consumed the rest of the meal, and the apple crumble for desert. The total price for my meal, including a refreshing glass of orange juice, was a reasonable £20. Throughout my visit, several staff members kindly checked in to ensure everything was satisfactory. I responded positively but chose not to mention the piece of fat since I had left it on my plate for them to see. Overall, if it weren't for that one issue, I would have given a 5 star rating as everything else satisfactory🙂

Staff are fantastic, very friendly, extremely pleasant and attentive. Very professional and courteous at all times, especially when busy and trying to deal with some demanding customers who don't appreciate the service they are striving to provide.

The food was excellent as was the atmosphere. Melissa and Jo were perfect hospitality ladies.

Unfortunately there seem to be only 1 person serving behind the bar at any one time, serving drinks and taking food orders. Always a queue which is unacceptable during the evening.

Meal was cold ..food look unappetising.. Will not be back..worst meal we have all had for along time .

Very nice place to have dinner. Next to the hotel. It does get quite busy though so be aware.

Food is not one to die for. Cheap - although not so cheap. Could take a long time to get your food. Just inconsistent service. Sadly my local one !!!

Too many food items unavailable. Festive Christmas dinner was very poor. 55 minute wait between first and second course and not very hot...items not available also i.e Cranberry sauce for example. My friends and I go for lunch every month and have done for years now but the standard has gone downhill this past 18 months + ☹️☹️

It's a lovely place but very slow service yet they all seemed to be rushing around like headless chickens.. the food was near cold. I also heard 4 other couples ask there's to be reheated.

Only dine here if you're looking for dried up meat, soggy vegetables and staff members that are likely to slag you off loudly and publicly when you leave... did report to customer service... they just hope I have a better experience when I waste more money trying it again... Booked a table for 7, no pre warning that there was a limited menu. They charge the same money for a plate with half the bits that it should have on. They didn't listen when putting in the order so the food came out wrong, the only redeeming feature originally was them accepting the blue light card, which they then wouldn't accept the same card formate when ordering dessert. Very disappointed.

What an absolutely miserable experience. Warning signs were evident when I could book a table for lunch, at one of the busiest weekends of the year, 30 minutes before hand. The second warning sign was the place being half empty and the third was the photocopied menu due to ’supplier' issues. Decided on a chicken burger, only to find out that there were no chicken burgers. When it arrived it was literally a chewy chicken breast dumped between two rolls. I had thought the old cafe at Snetterton Market was pretty poor but this does take the crown. In its heyday the Oaks was superb but this is now run down, dirty and understaffed. Makes you realize Spoons isn't as bad as you think it is.

Staff are really friendly, food is of decent quality and drinks of fizzy are unlimited!

Staying in Norwich and visited the oaks, had meal and couple of beers, service and atmosphere very good

i came in recently with an old friend, before we were seated we got told about the limited menu at the moment due to a supplier issue, this didnt bother us at all, once seated we sat down for a moment then went to the bar to order our food, teresa took our order and was so very polite, we both got the mixed grill, which was amazing! after our dinner we ordered desserts and we both enjoyed them very much. A big thank you to the front of house staff for being so on it, special mentions to teresa and holly who were both a great laugh and seemed like genuinely lovely people. we will 100% be coming back soon.

Booked to have Christmas lunch. Arrived to be told there were supply issues and a limited menu. We opted for a chicken burger and a cheeseburger. Had to wait 45 minutes. When the food arrived it looked disgusting and didn’t taste much better. It was so dry and over cooked. We left half of it. If this was all they could offer they should have closed until they could provide edible food. Very disappointing. As I had booked I think I should have been told there were issues before arriving. Won’t be visiting again in a hurry. Can honestly say this is the worst meal I’ve ever had.

I had the Sunday carvery and It was barely edible the vegetables were overcooked. The potatoes were dry and hard and the Yorkshire puddings were very small and pre made and lacking flavour. I Wont be having it again or recommending it.

Had a really lovely late Sunday lunch. Only downside was there wasn’t much available on the menu & the meat was very limited in the carvery. But the staff were fantastic especially Maggi who greeted & served us.

Very limited menu! Booked a table, received email confirmation, arrived at restaurant and told they had supplier issues and had very little to eat. Why didn't they advise this when booking, or beforehand? A simple email should have been sent. We had to leave and drive somewhere else.

Ive been loathe to review this as I don't like giving bad reviews if I can help it. The staff were great and very friendly. The food on the other hand - was poor. There were about 15 of us on the table - and not a single person had a good meal (starter, main or desert). Coffee machine was broken so after paying £3.50 for a flat white - you get hot water and a sachet of instant brown. Again, the staff were excellent so it's no fault of theirs. I would say it was an exceptional time near Xmas - but it was November. Overall - expensive meal for about half the quality you would expect in a wetherspoons. What a shame. Please brewers fayre - help your kitchen staff and employ some more people to help. Also - you have to log your car registration to avoid getting a hefty fine. I had no idea until someone at my table mentioned it. A very small sign says to log it near the bar in a tiny screen. Could have been very costly to miss it!

Flithy dirty floors. Given the wrong meal, even though my husband actually pointed my chosen meal to the women who took the order. When the mistake was finally rectifi ed, my husband had finished his meal, mine was Luke warm. At least I requested another drink free of charge which the nice waitresses did bring. Wouldn't return.

We were given a bar table, was 4 of us so was a bit squashed they were very busy though. Food was ok some are better, but nothing was horrible. Thought its strange they dont have the option for large carvery anymore. Refill glass is very small!

We had a carvery here with our family. There were 25 of us! The staff were fantastic, meal delicious and we left feeling very full and very happy. Thank you for making my birthday a very happy one 😊

Struggled to find a clean plate and mug for the coffee. Bad coffee, bad food, non apologetic staff for the state of the crockery.

Inedible, hard and greasy food for brekkie.. not worth the tenner. Orange juice tasted powdered. Only decent thing was the cappuccino imo, and everyone in my party. Things were broken in the bathroom and the tap only works while holding it down with one hand... How are folk supposed to wash their hands properly??

Very good food for the price happy staff.

Lively katsu curry and chips followed by crunchie topped cheesecake. Refillable hot and cold drinks definitely great. Served by jasmine who was both friendly and polite. Wifes allergies not an issue for carvery and riley cooked her food separately. Not a long wait time so kids were happy.

A 50 minute wait fo our food as the system was not working properly. The kitchen didn't receive our order from the front of house till. However, our party of five was offered a free dessert as recompense.

Had a very pleasant lunch break today. Young Jazz was absolutely fantastic and nothing was too much trouble for her. She works with a smile on her face and clearly enjoys her job. She is a credit to your company. Thanks Jazz!

Spontaneous trip out for a family breakfast. Although incredibly busy, the waitress seated the four of us quickly and efficiently, even though we had not made a reservation. The buffet was hot and well stocked, and the selection of foods was very impressive. We managed to sample our way through fresh fruits, pastries a full cooked breakfast and there was even pancakes for the sweet tooth of the family. As well as the variety of food there was a host of drink options, both hot and cold. The four ladies working, were super busy, but friendly, approachable and couldn’t do any more for us. We were very impressed, and wouldn’t hesitate to visit again.

A party of widows arrived for lunch booking weds 24th Sept,a couple ordered pie all it came with was 1 stem of broccoli of which half was to hard to eat,a dozen peas at best and a small amount of cabbage when asked if there were any potatoes was told they are extra,who doesn't serve pie and mash as a staple menu??1 lady waited ages for her dessert and staff had to be reminded but it still didn't arrive until after everyone else had finished theirs,so ate hers alone very poor to say the least.Staff heavy handed practically throwing down the plates.

Just tried this venue after the other closed. Plenty of space and really friendly service. Maggie was really friendly and efficient despite having a very busy restaurant. We enjoyed her smily, helpful approach, with nothing too much trouble. Food was very good with much larger portions than expected. This venue is a little out of the way, but Premier Inn are just next door.

Brewers fayre had always been our family's go to when it comes to all you can eat breakfasts. Unfortunately broadband gate only takes hotel guests in for breakfast now witch is a shame but understandable. So we've been going to the oaks. Now.this is our third time and every time things just not as good . The first time we went the hashbrowns were very burnt and dry and there was so many of them as people weren't eating them that they didn't make any fresh so that's disappointing. 2nd time was okay. There is alot of waiting around as they seems not to have enough staff on and takes ages to get the juice machine and food restocked . But that's the price you pay for this kind of service I suppose Now the 3rd time . This had to be out worst yet . The coffee machine wasn't working witch is very annoying but it can't be helped . The toaster machine is just a kitchen toaster nothing special and very slow There was no juice for 1 hour !!! And you couldn't get a Fizzy drink because the 2 staff were running around as they so short staffed. The bacon looked silver and I actually couldn't eat it . It really was awful . Now I totally understand its busy . But today wasn't that busy and of course they will be more busier as the next closest brewers fayre had stopped breakfasts so under staffing Is just to cut costs and deliver bad service. Very poor management from the top ! This place is good value but recently you can just tell there alot of cost cutting and poor service. We are regulars and we have noticed that the food quality is lower and the juice brand have changed and not for the better. We've booked a Toby carvery for next week . Witch works out slightly more expensive but hopefully the experience is better . Hopefully this feedback is used to actually improve the business and as its our local maybe next month we will give it another visit to see if things got better .

Family and friends meal on an early Saturday evening. Table we were shown to was soaking wet with previous diners spilt drinks. Obviously not cleaned. Food took quite a while to arrive. When it did, one of the meals was incorrect and was returned (without quibble) and the rest of the meals were Luke warm at best. Portion sizes were very small. I'll not be returning. It's a rather desperate state of affairs when you are dining in a pub restaurant, looking at your "food" and quietly thinking to yourself, the McDonald's next door would have been a better option.

Sad that the other brewers in Norwich has closed down which had a play centre and decent food/setting/staff Went to this one to try it.. my word it was not good. The food was not well prepared, the place was not well maintained or looked after and staff were just meh. We won’t be going back

Waited 50 minutes for food, asked several times for an update and just got sarcasm back. Only eat here if you have the meal deal from the hotel next door.

Love Brewers Fayre, sometimes a bit of a hit of miss, but good value for money. Food was great even when we asked starters to come out with the rest of the food, so we had to wait 10 mins. Burger was excellent and could have been more jucy, but the meat was good. Chips were 10/10 Kids meal good price, pizza was excellent.

Only pub in area it seems so can get really busy.Staff mean well but struggle sometimes so tables dont get cleared etc. Run out of popular beverage whilst we were there. 2024 Update, went for lunch on a Sat lunchtime and was it was actually quiet and this good served quick by friendly staff.

What you'd expect from a brewers fayre- honest food, nice big location and it doesn't break the bank.

Staff did not inform us of such a long wait and with 2 young kids that was not ideal.. the food was very below par items missing of the plate and food very over cooked.. would not recommend and will not be going back… word of advice do go here when busy because they just can not cope

Visited the Oaks for the first time in a while today with family and friends, and wasn't disappointed. Even though it was obviously busy as a Sunday afternoon, the service was first rate, as was the food, like on all previous visits prior. Someone was always on hand, if you needed something or just a general enquiry. Thanks again all for another pleasant visit.

Waited over an hour for 3 steak meals One of the steaks was over cooked and the other were not cooked properly as requested when asked for two of the steaks to medium to well and the other medium to rare. Was told that it takes quite a while to cook steaks, rubbish as stakes at one of the quickest meats to cook on a griddle.

The worst place I have been, waited 40 minutes to get a drink. The supervisor type thing told us to join a queue and wait whilst the 2 poor bar staff tried to do drink and food orders. The bar staff hopped to the queue jumpers the other side of the bar which infuriated the orderly queue. The beer garden was a dump, full of litter, brambles and stinging nettles half the tables where broken the other half full of glasses and food remains. Dripping gutter on the entrance this is a real dive. I wouldn’t ever go near the cesspit again.

Came in for a meal with family and was greeted and asked about any allergies on arrival, food came out and it was delicious. There is plenty of parking and staff were friendly and helpful.

Not the usual cheery greeting or demeanor of the staff that we are normally used to. Not too many customers (6.30 on a Sunday), but everyone was still huddled fairly close together, where there was an to give people some space to give a better dining experience.

Depending on your expectations and experience, it's an ok experience. You will have food, albeit limited options, but the people are helpful and mostly friendly. Willing to help and provide a service. Overall not bad.

We had a server called Maggie that was lovely she made us feel very welcome, she made sure she chatted to my 6 year old even if he was hyped up from the cocoa pops and Nutella. Good price considering there were 3 of us.
