We go to O-Tokuda as frequently as we can! The all you can eat menu is so varied and great value for money as you order from the menu and they bring all dishes to the table. The food is always fresh and delicious and the service is consistently superb. With a vegan parent it’s worth noting there was an abundance of options for her so it’s a great spot for groups with varied diets too!

Came here for a late valentines meal with my partner,1st time we had been and we will be booking in the future. The restaurant on a whole was lovely and very busy upon our arrival. We was seated at our table,we ordered drinks from the waitress and was brought out dips and prawn crackers,we ordered a range of starters off the Buffett menu and it was all fresh and hot,all was very tasty with a good flavour. We went onto mains and ordered a range of different things off the menu,some things we’ve never tried before and now like,we went around main dishes 3 times and was happily full and content,finished of with a coffee. I would recommend this place to anyone as it was a superb night all round

It has gone downhill drastically! Girl behind the bar is terrible. Took 35 mins for a carafe of water! She brought water marked, cloudy glasses and took offence when I asked for clean ones.

Ive visited o-tokuda many times over the years and its been amazing every time! The service is great and the staff are friendly. The restaurant vibe is great but can be a bit noisy on the weekends. The food is always delicious and comes out at a good pace, with the staff coming in good time to ask if you want any more. I’m vegan so there isn’t loads of choice, but everything I ordered was tasty. And the people who I went with are fish/meat eaters and had no complaints. Will be visiting again! *if you’re planning on parking in the roundabout car park, make sure you bring change. And make sure you don’t over pay, I payed for several hours and didn’t realise it was free after 8pm!

Absolutely beautiful food only grumble is they bring such tiny portions out at a time, but it's beautiful food all freshly cooked and piping hot and absolutely delicious. Service was a bit too slow despite them not being overly busy, and the atmosphere was very flat, unfortunately.

Amazing food, well worth paying that little bit more than your local place. Have to stop ourselves going more than just a few times a month!!

We came in here for a spontaneous date night. We arrived at 7:30pm but was asked to come back at 8pm due to the restaurant being busy, so we did. We got seated and given some complimentary prawn crackers. I had an espresso martini as they had a cocktail menu which are £7 each or 2 for £12. We had the buffet and ordered 2-3 items each and about 3-4 rounds as we didn't want to overdo it or waste. The staff came and took our orders and asked if we wanted more food which was good. Service can be a little slow, but when the food starts coming out it is quick. The food did taste good and there was some good options. For value for money this is good and a nice option for Japanese oriental in chesterfield

We were there a couple of times. I am into seafood. The best thing for me there is fresh sushi and sashimi. They literally met in your mouth. Reccomend for visiting ❤️

Hidden little place off the main street. Based on the reviews, had some high hopes for this. There really isn’t any decent Japanese food place in all of the Sheffield area, so a short trip down to Chesterfield was worth it. The sushi selection itself was small, but we enjoyed what was available. The salmon was fresh. The food on the buffet menu was actually mostly Chinese, which wasn’t a bad thing. Lots of selection on meats and sauces, the buffet menu was totally worth the price. I would recommend if that’s what you want. If you’re looking for a 100% sushi place then the selection may disappoint though. Do check the menu before you go.

Entrance moved from p*ss alley, which was a good start and the food was good, well presented and promptly served. Gen Z entitled staff member was a bit rude with a few unnecessary comments. If it's your birthday you get a half price meal when there's 8 or more people, however they only class children as half a person although they class them as a full person when it suits them and you're paying the ridiculous deposit of £10 per head to book a table which is non refundable if anyone can't make it for any given reason. Please check their long list of terms and conditions before booking. You also get a free ice-cream for your birthday but not if you query their terms and conditions 😂

Been wanting to go for years! Absolutely gorgeous drinks and food, staff were lovely too! Be mindful it is a small restaurant if that may inconvenience

10 of us attended a birthday gathering and there wasn't one complaint from anyone, child or adult. Great food and great service made it a great night for all.

If I could give this place more than five stars, I would. I ordered takeout through Deliveroo and the driver bless him and got lost trying to find my house and he was so apologetic, but it was not his fault at all and the food is honestly some of the best I’ve ever ever eaten. Will definitely be coming to visit the restaurant.

Cracking Chinese restaurant located in Chesterfield town centre. Located down small alley so hidden away but well worth the find. Not overly decorated in an authentic way but decent food and drinks reasonably priced. All you can eat buffet definitely worth it. Well worth a visit.

I’ve visited this restaurant on many occasions over the years. Unfortunately, there has been a steady decline. The food was ok but the customer service was terrible. The staff were rude and unfriendly. Tonight confirmed that I won’t be visiting ever again

Lovely evening, delicious food We the enjoyed the variety of gluten free options. Reasonable price Service was okay a bit slow on the drinks but understandable due to it being quite busy. Felt a little rushed at the end as tables had been booked overlapping being an all you can eat you’d expect a longer time slot than 1 hour 30 min especially when it took 15 minutes to take our first order. But over all a very enjoyable experience and will definitely be coming again

Been here many times. Always great food. The sushi is excellent and if that's not your cup of tea they have an excellent selection of Japanese and Chinese food. Highly recommended.

I honestly thought the food was poor and tasteless. There wasn't as much to choose from as other all you can eat places like this. The cocktails were horrible the toilets smelt terribly you could smell them before you got in them I went once then waited until I got home overall wouldn't recommend and won't be visiting again

Lovely food. I'm really glad I finally got round to trying the place. Service was a little hit and miss, but it was super busy, so it's understandable. There was a right rowdy bunch next to us to the point where we asked to move, and to be fair, this was accommodated straight away. Would return at some point in the future, probably just not on a late Saturday evening

Amazing Japanese Fusion food in Chesterfield with great service!! We just had a wonderful dinner for 2. The food was hot, fresh and delicious!!! Everything we ate was perfect- I recommend anything on the menu!! We had: Miso Soup Hot and Sour Soup Spring Rolls Spicy Korean Chicken ( 2/10 spice ) Chicken fried rice Sweet n Sour Pork Carman was attentive and friendly. This restaurant will be added to our list of faves when we come back to visit Chesterfield. I highly recommend parking the lot beside the restaurant or walking to it from that direction. (Saltergate) Don’t take The dark alley from Knifesgate.

O-Tokuda is our favourite restaurant in Chesterfield. The staff are so friendly and helpful, the food is just so tasty, beautifully presented and very filling. There's a huge choice of items on the menu that suits everyone's taste. The decor is beautiful and fits the Japanese theme. We always get excited when we know we're coming here!!

We went for my daughters 10th birthday recently and she absolutely loved it! We all did!

We went for an early evening dinner, unfortunately at the same time as a party of 16. This resulted in bit of a lag in the kitchen. The food and service was OK not as good as previous visits.

Our dinner last night (Thursday) was out standing in every respect. They succeed in delivering the best Japanese food in Derbyshire and we quit eating when our satisfied bellies were bulging. Awful service, ordered online for a take away, to be collected in 10:15 minutes, which is how long it takes to get there on route home, arrived for order to be delayed by 20 minutes, spent 20 minutes sat in car park for order to be delayed another 25 mins, in the end waited over an hour, asked if delivery could be arranged to save waitingtold no, had to wait to collect had dogs in the car, AWFUL SERVICE, just a sorry on passing the food over, not helpful at all. Won’t be using or recommending again. Ever! Much better places with much better service just slightly further away, and I’d rather that.

Excellent food, catered for gluten free and vegan, all delicious and even bought out a surprise happy birthday ice cream platter for our son, whose birthday meal it was. Excellent place for the family

Once you find this place the food cocktails and service are worth it. The place is tucked away down an alley at the back of a car park but once inside it's excellent.

Ordered via Deliveroo. Pork Yaki Udon, veg gyoza and tempura prawns. Everything arrived piping hot. The udon was flavourful and the pork was moist. The tempura prawns were crunchy and the sweet chilli dip had just the right amount of heat. The gyoza was well cooked and tasty. It took a little longer than the estimate to arrive but it was worth the wait.

Having eaten here many times and enjoyed many meals in the past I am sad to say this is no longer a quality food establishment. The food was heavily over fried and overcooked with the exception of the small sushi menu. Staff were very polite and accommodating it’s a shame that the food has deteriorated. Will not be returning.

We ate at O-Tokuda for my daughter’s 15th birthday. We ordered from the a la carte menu as there was a wider range of sushi and more got her as a vegetarian and we didn’t think we’d eat that much. The presentation of the dishes was fabulous. The Temaki was our favourite sushi though the spicy tuna and the dragon rolls were amazing too. We loved the chilli squid and my son the spare ribs and the mocktails. Service was friendly and just right, couldn’t have asked for more.

After coming to this restaurant for over 10 years, my family was very excited to return after the refurbishment and petition to keep this restaurantopen. However, the service and the food really let the place down. The food was not hot (mostly mild) and tasted like it had been reheated, some food was also burnt and tasteless. The service was poor, our waitress barely came over and eventually took so long to serve us that the other waitress ended up serving us instead. There were only two waitresses and based on how many people had booked that evening this was not adequate. Food took a long time to come out and I can not emphasis enough the poor quality of food, even though the prices have gone up since the refurbishment. I had last visited this restaurant November 2021 which was enjoyable, as previous visits, so was very disappointed and shocked by how much this restaurant had fallen in quality. Will not be returning and will recommend the same to all my family in friends. All in all a very disappointing evening.

The karaage tasted nice, the takoyaki was also okay. The piece of tuna sushi that I had tasted far past it's best though, was very fishy... which fresh fish shouldn't be. When ordering from the yakisoba section of the menu I asked if the noodles were soba noodles, as it just described them as noodles. I was told that they were soba, although this didn't turn out to be true. They were just Chinese noodles, and not like any yakisoba that I have had in Japan. A bit disappointing.

The food I cannot complain about but at £25 per head for their buffet, I’d have expected better service from the staff. We were sat down and not told anything at all about the menu or how it worked, their menu is extensive and complicated I ended up having to ask. There were no recommendations on dishes, which lead to myself and my friend feeling like making decisions quickly and not actually remembering what we had ordered by the time our food came out. Some rounds, food items were missed as well or the wrong thing was bought out. The food was delicious and I can’t fault but unfortunately some members of the staff let the place done. When we asked for the bill, the girl serving us was really sharp and said “yes one minute” It just wasn’t a nice expensive .

We booked a table at O-Tokuda and on arrival it was not available the place was really busy, it must be hard to gauge how long people are going to stay it was not a problem so we went for another drink when we came back we were seated the food came out in dribs and drabs but all our dishes were nice especially the mussels in black bean sauce, we worked our way through the starters washed down with a few bottles of wine we all had a great evening, it’s a vibrant atmosphere not to sophisticated, we will be back again, good value for money, especially if your hungry.

This was our first visit, being introduced to this restaurant by our son who had been several times before. This is a buffet type Asian restaurant where you order off an extensive menu with the food being brought to the table. It is still an 'all you want to eat' restaurant so you can order as many dishes as you like, which come in comfortable size portions. A good range of dishes suitable for vegetarians, and although not specifically marked on the menu many are suitable for vegans - we asked. The food and service were great and well worth the trip from north Sheffield. Will definitely be returning

We came here for the buffet meal before heading to the theatre! The service was really good, food was lovely! The buffet is brilliant value for money. I recommend the home made ice cream, especially the green tea flavour.

£15 for all you can eat, amazing. I would definitely recommend having an empty stomach before going so you can attempt to try everything! This was our 3rd visit and we have still never made it on to our main course! The staff are so friendly and make the experience even better.
