I haven't tried much on the menu for food but have tried the market stuff they have and it's more than ok . Looks different yes but taste and looks are Important. Coffee was well made a nice day of solitude and random eating. Yes I would go again for sure.

Nice cakes and surroundings, pretty good service, however, really veird smell inside. Minimum pay on a card. A bit loud, too. There was no car park but paid one nearby.

The hot drinks are alright, standard. Cheap, which is a bonus. However, not the always most hygienic place. The staff do their job, in a somber manner, and the customers go about their way in a somber manner. Nevertheless, this is Ipswich 😊

My favourite place to stop for a coffee/drink and light bite to eat in Ipswich. Now has a little shop as well with lots of Portuguese goodies. All reasonable priced as well! Very friendly staff.

Popped in for a coffee. This is a really lovely coffee shop, great espresso.

Recommend the food and coffee, but this place seriously looks exhusted in appearances and could seriously do with an internal and external refurbishment; a vintage style exterior will do great wonders for this coffee/food shop and vicinity. Rundown shops make an area look very poor.

Bought a variety of cakes and pastries for when company visited. Everything went down very well, especially the Pastel de Natas! Very welcoming and nice atmosphere, will make time to stop and have a leisurely hot drink next time.

Love this place! It's like going back home without taking a plane. The ambience and welcoming and friendly manner of all staff is superb! The cakes take me back to my childhood 😋 and the coffee is to die for! The homemade food will never beat my mother's but it is super yummy.

Fantastic place for family. Very friendly staff, fantastic food and plenty of food for a very good price and the choice of dessert is mind blowing. All very fresh and well presented. Well recommended. There is a £1 an hour parking just around the corner for monday to saturday and sundays, you can park for free nearby as well.

A friend invited my partner and I out for a celebratory meal to what I believed to be a Portuguese coffee shop-to my amazement upstairs was a very nice restaurant! Lovely, friendly, welcoming atmosphere, smiley service, and absolutely delicious Portuguese food and beers. I cannot wait to share this hidden Gem with friends and revisit. The bill, astonishingly fantastic value for money. Never judge a book by its cover! Well worth a visit. Only available by pre booking a sit down meal, no walk ins. Pay them a visit, you won’t be disappointed.

It does get busy but definitely worth a visit I go regularly with my girls friends. Check it out .... squid salad is my favourite 😉

Excellent coffee and desserts, very keenly priced beers

We booked a party of 8 on a Sunday afternoon and were seated upstairs in a really nice relaxed dining area. The place was pretty busy and had a nice atmosphere. Service was not at all pushy and you could really relaxed and enjoy it. There was a choice of 5 mains all reasonably priced, the steak was fantastic. As someone else said if you aren't someone who has to eat at a chain restaurant and like the more authentic local places then this is for you. José the owner helped us with choice and was very engaging , a lovely nan. We will definitely come back thanks.

Who would have thought that today on Norwich Road of all places I found a gem of a restaurant. While the locals rather go to the chains for their meal outings, I prefer a place where the food is great and where one gets a family like welcoming from Mario. For 37.00 we had bread + olives - two salads (Side) 2 x seabass beautifully cooked and quite frankly the best in town, with fries / new potatoes - 2 deserts and a cappucinno and 4 cokes. One of the best meals out in a while. I will mention again Mario who served us, as nothing was too much in order to keep us and his customers happy 10/10

The warm smiling welcome was backed up by quick service. We went back three times for coffee and pastries!! Try the custard tarts!!!

You can get really good coffee in here at an excellent price. The croissants and pastries are also great and good value. It is also fun to watch the cafe empty out when police come down Norwich Road

Visited with family (8 adults and 7 children) for a pre planned lunch. Lovely little place. The food was delicious (as were the carafes of wine), the service was excellent, and the atmosphere relaxed and friendly (and child friendly). Really enjoyed it. Thank you.

A great place with great coffee

I noticed this cafe has a few bad reviews, I have used this cafe for some years and I cannot find any faults with this place. I find the staff very friendly and polite and the food very good and the coffee so cheap.

Love this place, go in at least once a week. Food and drink are priced good, most staff speak English so makes it easier. Only negative is they don't have a menu so never certain all they serve.

El dueño es muy desagradable, ya que juran que mucho ante los clientes y hacer mucho peor en frente de los niños también.He visto él siendo verbalmente abusivo con los miembros del personal.La comida no es nada extraordinario, pero me han comido en restaurantes, pero peor ver todo esto perdí mi apetito con bastante rapidez.Es un restaurante muy popular una gran diversidad de clientes de diferentes nacionalidades, principalmente de Portugal, países de África (palops), Rumanía, Bulgaria e Inglaterra.

Fui a O portugués con mi pareja y yo estaba muy desconcertada con el nivel de servicio ofrecido. La comida tardó un largo tiempo y no se disculparon, y cuando me pregunta sus servicios eran groseros conmigo. Me pareció que era discriminada debido a mi color como vi que estaban más atentos a otros que yo.No disfruté de mi cena, debido a su nivel de servicio, y no volveremos aquí de nuevo! ! ! !

I have visited the restaurant with my family for breakfast and i've made a complaint (not for the 1st time) because the waiter is consistently demonstrating lack of customer care but this week was different because she showed lack of knowledge with reg health and safety and food handling regulations. She was serving my salad with her hands and when i stated that i did not wanted the salad, the owner immediately turned to me with a super aggressive and abusive attitude using profanic language at all times and shouting saying that i would not be served in his business anymore (like i care) and asking me to leave the premises. I did try to explain my position as a customer, however, he (the owner) did not cared at all and was threatning me that would take my picture (he actually took a picture of me) and take it to the police and also would spread my picture in the local businesses. He continued to shout using abusive language as the premises was full of customers watching in disbilief.

Never disappointed. Great coffee.

Pasamos por este lugar varias veces y me pareció fascinante, ya que me encanta repostería portuguesa, pero siempre parecía estar lleno. Nos aventuramos en una noche después del trabajo para ver la gama más deliciosos pasteles y repostería en exhibición. También sirven comida caliente y un desayuno completo inglés cocinado en las mañanas. Hermoso portugués tartas y el mejor café caliente y fuerte. Volveremos para una experiencia sentarse en la próxima vez y no sólo para las tartas
