O My Cod in Bridgend

Very disappointed with food today batter was very thick, chips were very pale and soggy, had to wait over 30 minutes for order as orders for delivery were given priority

Very poor quality food today . Supposed to be award winning but batter on fish very heavy and undercooked and staff too busy preparing on line orders, long wait for takeaway . Disappointing first visit

The cod and chips were dripping in fat made me gag my son had something else he was ok with his food I wasn’t

Lovely food, great service from the members of staff 100% use o my cod again , offered all the help I needed on just eat in order to get myself a delivery

Always a good quality meal and any issues are always rectified. Normally we have the fruity style curry or peas, chips and gravy and also usually a chicken curry. The food is always top notch and better than other chippies when ordering in. The portions are good and the chips and other food quality great. We have had minor issues over the time we have used O My Cod, but they have always been rectified satisfactorily. We keep ‘going back’ as the food is consistently good quality, piping hot and accurate. I appreciate the fact that I can have vegetarian and gluten free with no fuss also.

When we moved back to Bridgend in 2020, we became loyal customers of Tino’s. However, when Antonio sold the business, the quality went down & we voted with our feet. As a result, we found the newly opened O My Cod (OMC) nearby & have enjoyed excellent fish & chips consistently ever since. Initially, I was bewildered by the negative views of others, only to realise that most complaints were by folk using Just Eat or Deliveroo to deliver their food. I understand that people with medical issues might be forced to use these services, but I can assure you that if you get off your bum & go to OMC you will receive well cooked, nicely flaking fish – wrapped in excellent batter & accompanied by really good portions of chips. F&C is our traditional fast-food choice, but needs to be eaten within 15 – 30 minutes before it naturally begins to degrade gradually into a mush. Hence my preference for cooked to order F&C. I have observed the owner of OMC berating JE/Deliveroo couriers who are already 20-30 minutes late picking up their order, giving a Gallic shrug, & presumably delivering their cargo at their own convenience. And what’s this about rudeness – I always find the staff friendly if you engage with them, even letting me try samples of things like Irish Curry - which was totally new to me - gratis.

Totally never going here again staff are really quite rude , have to wait a lifetime for your food and if they shut their gobs yapping and just got on with serving then it would be better . 1 for service ,0 for their attitude.

Probably the best fish and chips I've ever had ,definitely the best in the local area ,nice clean crispy batter and big clean chips ,friendly staff ,bit of a wait but the fish was cooked freshly for me .definitely buy from here again .

Just had small cod and chips ,lemon, tartare sauce £6.75 cod cooked fresh ,best I've ever had, good range on menu including kids and meal deals . Spotlessly clean shop and staff .Less than 5 min walk from Wilko's

If I could of given 0 I could of, placed order through uber eats for large cod 2 chips, sausage in batter and fishcake... 45 minutes later I received a child's squash, chips in gravy, a sausage and a sausage In batter, telephoned o my cod to be told to take it up with uber eats and it was the delivery drivers fault and claim a refund through them! Eventually spoke to someone a little more helpful who said she would replace the order, after 40 minutes I phoned again and they said they were waiting for me to call back with a delivery address? As they didn't know where to deliver to, confusing as I'd already received one wrong order. So after waiting 75 minutes I receive my original order cold and inedible

I have been going here regularly but recently the service has gone down hill. The food was always good despite the service. Tonight however, beans, cheese and chips was inedible as they used a ton of parmesan cheese instead of regular cheddar. I'm sorry but you've lost a customer

I ordered gluten free chips and curry sauce on just eat, I have been ill for 3 days and could not get out of bed as our chips definitely were NOT gluten free.

We'd ordered dinner through Just Eat but, an hour later, they still couldn't find a driver. During our wait, O My Cod called us twice to apologise for the delay, even though it wasn't their fault. In the end they found a driver themselves, told us to cancel Just Eat and they'd get the food to us instead even though they don't do deliveries. It was delivered ten minutes later and was fabulous (as usual). Totally recommend them.

Well got to say after so many friends saying what a place tried it for the third time and got to say it was very disappointed cardboard chips must of been there for ages absolutely shocking to dish that out if I hadn’t taken them home I would have taken them back avoid not good 😡👎

Rude staff, soggy and undercooked sausage in batter, chips were hard and had been hanging about for ages keeping warm. All they care about is deliveries, while people waiting are ignored.

Went to this new chip shop today ,wow the fish is huge and the chips were great ,definitely the best in the area ,the whole family enjoyed our food, fast delivery and pipping hot .
