We love Helmsley and fancied afternoon tea. Having tried to book at a couple of local places, we popped into Number 12 as we walked from the car park. I had afternoon tea, my husband had a farmhouse platter. Absolutely delicious, great value and huge portions. The ham was top quality, sausage rolls were delicious and I had the best treacle tart ever as part of the afternoon tea. Do go and eat there, you will not be disappointed!

Really lovely cafe/restaurant in town centre. Just stopped for a quick bite of lunch and had two excellent meals, really fresh and beautifully presented. Good value for money and dog friendly. Dogs welcome inside and outside.

Amazing breakfast!! And a full one too! Bacon, Sausage, Beans, Hashbrowns, Black pudding, mushrooms, tomato and….. Toast that’s included! (It’s a rare thing these days) Friends have had Sandwiches, Teacakes, Pie, Scampi and cakes, all of which they have enjoyed. It’s very clean, friendly staff, lovely outdoor stealing area. Called in yesterday (Sunday) whilst taking a short cut to the market square from the long stay car park. Whilst we didn’t have a booking, we were given a table in a plumb spot in the outside dining area. Perfect on a hot summers day. We ordered from a very comprehensive menu at the bar and it wasn’t very long before our drinks arrived outside. Soon after, our food arrived, beautifully presented and piping hot. The service was swift and very polite. I dropped a dish of coleslaw, which created some attention, but as with everything else, the staff dealt with it quickly and professionally. Well done Number 12! Additional points well earned for bringing out did some fresh water and making him feel welcome! Thanks again, we will return!

Called here for impromptu lunch today. Was not disappointed in any way whatsoever. Had Club sandwich and a Beef ciabatta sandwich which both came with masses of fries, coleslaw etc and drinks. The place is dog friendly, the staff were very attentive and the food was superb. Both inside and the outside garden areas are beautifully furnished, clean and welcoming. Highly recommend a visit here! 5*

Wonderful breakfast with some brilliant service, full Yorkshire was superb and definitely enough to keep you full for the day, coffee was incredible and I will 100% be returning. Atmosphere inside and out was lovely on a sunny morning and I could not ask for a more friendly welcoming staff. Lovely to see a friendly owned cafe back in Helmsley.

Handy location between car park and Market Place. Nice clean, modern interior surroundings . Menu includes excellent Full Yorkshire Breakfast with generous portions. Friendly service. Good coffee. We were having brunch but the cakes looked very tempting too so we’d come back.

A canine cuddle cafe is the sort of place one would expect to find in the trendier parts of London which is why it was such a surprise to come across this little gem in Malton. That said, Malton has been awarded the title 'dog friendliest town in the UK.' We just love this cafe where several different breeds of happy dogs (which all belong to the cafe owner) are available for endless cuddles. The cuddles are accompanied by a variety of teas, coffees and home baking. Thalia, the owner, informed us that the venue and a selection of doggies can be hired for children's parties. Apparently an alcohol licence can be obtained for grown up parties. A visit to Malton would not be complete without a visit to Mixmups. We highly recommend. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon.

We stayed for bed and breakfast here. The house is in a beautiful peaceful setting overlooking meadows. Hosts very friendly. Comfortable bedroom. The TV reception is scrambled and there is no phone signal - so I would recommend enabling WiFi calling on your phone and bring a book 😃

Visited here with my wife to celebrate our anniversary. One of the best restaurant meals I’ve eaten in a long time. I had the duo of lamb with the rump done to perfection, (pink not bloody) and my wife chose the cod and prawn therefore, equally well cooked. Puddings were great as well. Staff really friendly and attentive. Very reasonably priced. Overall a great dining experience!
