One of the best eateries I have ever eaten in. Amazing hosts, food was incredible, vibe was relaxed and cool.

My favourite restaurant, it’s amazing to have a different atmosphere and restaurant in Bideford, the food is spot on every time we go, it’s such a welcoming and homely place. Really recommend

Beautiful meal last night in Number Eight. We had forgotten to pre warn them I was pescatarian but they did their very best to accommodate (even though they supply to number of bookings they have on a given night). The food was so beautiful, each dish full of flavor and carefully crafted. Portion size was also just about right for the amount of courses, we left pleasantly full but not overwhelmed. Drinks were gorgeous also. I recommend trying the baileys martini after dinner.

I went to visit No.8 last saturday with my partner, and was blown away! The restaurant is elegant with a clean, modern decor. There is an outside area where you can watch the sunset and have a craft cocktail. I love the concept that Chloe and Chef Josh are running there - 18 seats, a very personal, professional service front of house, with a delicious, creative tasting menu to go with it. What can I say? The food is banging, flavors bombs left right and center, showcasing some of Devon's local produce. Portion wise, between the tasting menu it was the perfect amount for me, and reasonably priced. I take my hats off to these 2 as they run the whole service between themselves. Thank you for a memorable experience and keep up the good work! I will be back.

Visited for the first time this evening, It absolutely did not disappoint one bit! The Decor, The Atmosphere, The Food & The Service was Outstanding! Josh’s attention to detail & passion really stands out in every dish, The flavours were absolutely beautiful! I genuinely did not think I would enjoy some of the items on the menu but it was some of the best food I’ve ever had! It was £85 for 8 Courses- amazing value & worth every penny spent! Greeted & seated by Chloe who immediately followed on with taking our drinks order, we felt very taken care of & Honestly can’t recommend this beautiful restaurant enough! We can’t wait to come back & try another variety of beautiful flavours im sure Josh has coming in the next few weeks! 😁 Thank You Both for a fabulous evening.

The food is ok nothing special in my opinion and certainly not worth the ridiculous high prices ,we would definitely not go back , theres far better places around that are much better value .

We had a meal here 2 years ago with 2 drinks and 2 coffees just over £120 . We went back last night same amount of food again 2 drinks and 2 coffees £185! Thats £60 rise in 2 years . Its good food but not that good.

We have just enjoyed another splendid evening at Number Eight and the food on the November Menu was delicious. I have just seen a review from someone who said the chef can't be bothered with vegetarians. SO WRONG! I do not eat meat but Joshua always looks after me and tonight's meal was absolutely scrummy - who would have thought cauliflower could be exciting but it was! Give it a try - you won't be disappointed.

We have had the privileged of eating in some amazing restaurants around Europe but we can honestly say that our meal and service at Number Eight was one of the best we’ve ever had.  The quality, imagination and presentation of the food was faultless.  If this doesn’t deserve a Michelin star nothing does!

Don't bother if you are vegetarian. Very disappointed with our experience as a pescatarian/vegetarian the options were thoughtless and tasteless. Instead of lamb there was breaded aubergine no flavour what so ever. Instead of chicken was chargrilled courgette. For £85 a head for the tasting menu, was really underwhelmed. Don't bother if you don't eat meat chef obviously can't be bothered! Ridiculously expensive vegetarian food! Friendly service, but lacking for the price you pay had to top up own water and wine.

Best meal I’ve had in a while! Totally worth the money. Every plate was delicious and Chloe was a lovely hostess. Josh is incredibly talented…The chicken butter was insane and the duck was amazing. No words for the lemon sherbet… If you are in the area and can afford a little treat, you must visit ☺️

Superb food. The big advantages of a taster menu are that you pace your eating, and experience a range of flavours and flavour combinations that you just would not get otherwise. Number Eight is an experience not just food.

Another evening of outstanding food but now in the new premises. We confidently introduced more friends to your restaurant and they were as impressed by Number Eight as we have been.

A truly delightful restaurant with a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and spectacular food. The menu provides a chance to explore the exciting possibilities of a range of flavours and ingredients, all perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. We had to wait 4 months to get a table, but it was worth it!

Tonight Josh and Chloe opened Number Eight after 5 months of lock down and we were lucky to get two of twelve seats. We loved this month's tasting menu..each of the 7 courses was packed with flavour and quality ingredients. Fabulous food, fabulous service. We love dining at Number Eight

Number Eight is such a great place Excellent service and sublime food. A rare find in Bideford and indeed in North Devon. Can't wait until the end of lockdown to be able to go again.

We went for a meal (Sunday 6th September) and the food was phenomenal. The service was so welcoming and very attentive. Exceptionally clean. The quality of food was too scrumptious to even begin to describe. Would highly recommend. What I like most is that many parts of the restruant inclusive of food; supports local businesses. Marvelous.

How many superlatives can I use.......amazing, different and would be a well deserved Michelin stat? It was spotlessly clean and owner v friendly. The tastes were incredible along with all the little surprises on the way.

Had the taster menu last night 29/12/19 and would have to say its one of the nicest meals my partner and I have ever had. As good as any Michelin star restaurant, I'm sure it won't belong before they get one, they definitely deserve it. We will definitely be going back and couldn't recommend it more.

Excellent restaurant, beautiful food. You won't find the days menu online as they source local seasonal food. My taste buds were tingling. Ideal for couples.

My wife and I decided on a short break to Devon, and were lucky enough to stumble across Number Eight. Called and found they had a table available during our stay. We were delighted with both the quality of food and service. The restaurant is run by a young couple "Chloe & Josh" and the fact that they have earned the number 1 restaurant in Bideford is not a surprise. If you're heading to the West Country book a table here, you wont be disappointed. Josh is so inventive the little extras such as the pre-desert wow!! Keep up the good work guys and we'll be back very soon.

Number 8 is a hidden gem of a restaraunt tucked away in Bidefords town centre. If you like masterchef style food served in a well presented and clean enviroment this is for you. Chloe and Josh strike all the right notes for taste, style and service. This is without doubt our No 1 goto place for eating out in Bideford.

Yet another fabulous meal at No 8 . Every course was delicious.

Definitely the best fine dining restaurant in town. Although expensive, it's still reasonably priced for the category and service provide is excellent.

Excellent food, lovely atmosphere.

No exaggeration when I say tonight I've had the best meal I've had in a very long time at Number Eight. Of all 4 courses I had I don't have a single criticism. Josh and Chloe are faultless and I will recommend the restaurant to everyone I know!

Fab little fine dining spot the likes of which are very rare in North Devon. The food was beautifully presented and very tasty. To be picky, our only qualms were the atmosphere, which was largely lacking; the service was excellent in terms of timing but was somewhat insincere and robotic, lacking a personal touch; finally, while the food was very tasty indeed there was too much salt the in hake dish which overpowered the other flavours. Would most likely return with a new, more experimental menu.

A really pleasant evening meal the like of which hasn't been available in Bideford or maybe North Devon for a long time. Fine dining isn't for everyone so don't expect a big bowl of chips with your meal and make sure you have a dessert too! Extra little courses make it a very special event, give this place a try!

Great food and lovely staff, however one drawback is that they stagger what time diners arrive so you feel like the staff can hear everything you are saying, so a lack of privacy.

🍽🍷 At last we have a restaurant in Bideford where the owners seem to really enjoy what they are doing, and take a pride in serving great tasting food, which is well presented. The restaurant itself is not large, but well decorated and welcoming. Bookings are staggered to keep serving and waiting times to a minimum which seems to work well. We only have a small number of dedicated restaurants around Bideford, and in my opinion this is by far the best.

Absolutely amazing, real home made food, amazing service and nice atmosphere. Fine dining in Bideford at last. So glad to have such a nice restaurant in the town. Not the sort of place you'd take the kids perhaps but perfect for when you want something special. A small menu that changes on a weekly basis, everything was delicious, cant recommend enough.

Five of us had a tremendous meal here this week. The service by Chloe is tremendous with little delicious surprises from Joshua throughout. Whole evening was relaxed, with course after course of delicious food. Will definitely be back.
