Flame Factory in Torridge

We ate here on the first evening of our stay in the village and were not disappointed. The quality of the food was great and the staff very friendly and welcoming. We were lucky to have been able to get a table - we had not reserved a table and all others had been taken. The Pizza was very nice, the perfect size and cooked to perfection. We also had a chicken burger that was equally as good. I cannot fault the Flame Factory and look forward to returning in the future.

We had a ribeye steak and a pizza. The steak was one of the best I’ve had and the pizza was also excellent. The staff were great, efficient friendly and knowledgeable.

We visited Flame Factory twice during our week in North Devon, on our first night and last because it is such a brilliant place. Lovely vibe, relaxed, fresh, fabulous service and such amazing food. Possibly the best pizza I’ve ever had. We all loved it. Highly recommended.

What fantastic food and top quality service. We are here for a week but will go back. Everything was amazing and the food quality was excellent. Even the chips were fantastic not the frozen type. Just a gem of a place. Could not recommend more highly.

Last night of holiday . Brilliant choice . Staff couldnt be more helpful . I had a burger which was sooo tasty,rest of my family had the pizzas. Flour from Italy , all handmade. Taste amazing. Well worth a visit. Lovely atmoshere.

We visit every year when we are in the area . Friendly staff & cosy ambiance . Good choices of pizzas . We also had a sharing paddle as a starter . Nice local beers & ciders too ! We’ll be back next Spring :))

Managed to book for a Saturday night and was very pleased. They focus on 3 things - burgers, steak and Pizza and do them really well rather than try to have too wide a menu. I chose steak and it was the best I have had for a long time.

These guys do the most amazing rib eye steak take away. I’ve never come across this before but it was amazing. I’m looking forward to booking a meal in house. 👍

Very disappointed with our meal this evening always visit when we holiday in Appledore which is a least once a year. Ordered a sirloin steak cooked rare this evening was told the slices left were too thin to be cooked rare and all they had was ribeye so ordered one of those at £26 you expect the salad that accompanied it to have a little bit of dressing on it and not just something grabbed out of a bag and plonked on the plate the coleslaw was far too cold. The Flame used to be our go to place when in the area but the last few times we’ve visited have left disappointed a little of complacency as set in we feel

Oh my goodness the food here is amazing!!!! The service was spot on and the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere! This is our new favourite place to go to eat. Thanks to the staff for making it so enjoyable.

So heartening to experience a young staff crew working in an efficient, co-ordinated and undemonstrative manner. And then to the fare.... Wow, wonderfully succulent local steak cooked to perfection, & the pizza was out of this world. That there was a stream of custom on a Monday evening in February, & reservations being made for the end of the week encapsulates Flame Factory's local popularity & sought-after ambiance.

This place is just fabulous. The waiter was lovely (sorry, didn’t ask your name). The food was excellent. We shared a garlic mushrooms to start. Great portion size. Enough for two. Then each of our pizza’s were fab. Roasted veg and sharp and salty. Generous size, great toppings. Satiated, both of us. Great atmosphere. Amazing place in a small town. Fabulous.

The most EPIC pizzas and amazing for gluten free - if you have coeliac disease they take cross contamination seriously and the staff are super helpful. Plus the pizzas are HUGE! Great atmosphere, I just love it here!!

Flame Factory is always on our must visit list when in Appledore. Visited a couple of weeks ago and as usual received a very warm welcome, the food was excellent as always. I fully recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting North Devon.

Wow! Everything was perfect here from the warm friendly greeting and service from the staff to the sublime food and drinks. Fully booked for a fairly busy Saturday night but timing of everything was perfect. Gluten free pizza base was nice and crispy; and a far cry from the squeaky cardboard pizza bases you usually get elsewhere. chips were excellent and the antipasti platter tasted sharp and fresh. Would definitely return when I'm next in the area and book in advance to avoid disappointment. 👌

Service amazing, Ryan was absolutely brilliant and the waitresses. Pizza 9/10 all day long every day, takeaway as good as eating in which speaks volumes. The owner Matt is super experienced with Pizza restaurants and has worked his way up from the bottom. He even give us a lift home, excellent all around we will be back. Top 3 pizzas I've ever had in my life up there with the best indi pizzas in the UK. Really should enter UK pizza awards. Very reasonable price and superb value. Consistently awesome. 👌

We all absolutely loved it. The food is amazing, and the service was too. My boys loved the pizzas only downside is it only opens in the evening at 5.30 we did try to come for lunch before we left just so me n my husband could try the pizzas (we had the steak previously 😋) would definitely recommend always busy 😀

What a wonderful place! After a long day of exploring Cornwall, my three companions and I were trying to find a late meal in Appledore, but every eatery had closed its kitchen. It was looking bleak for four hungry travellers. Then we came upon the Flame Factory, also preparing to shutter after a busy day. Their ovens were shut off, their tables cleaned and staff were finishing up. As we began to shuffle off, the manager ran after us. "The fryer's still on," she called. And we ordered up a simple feast: several fries with cheese and pulled pork with a couple spectacular fresh salads were utterly delicious and perfectly hit the spot. But most of all, thanks to the kind and solicitous manager and staff of the Flame Factory who stayed open a bit longer to feed strangers!

Best takeaway pizza! Unfortunately the restaurant was fully booked (not surprising considering how good the food is) so got a takeaway instead. Ready in 5 minutes and hands down the best pizza I’ve had in a long time.

Generally OK. Staff were pleasant. But ... Wasn't obvious you have to book (I had tried calling earlier in day but no answer), so assumed walk ins ok. London prices. No children's menu. No high chairs for the outdoor tables.

My wife and I was staying local for our 13th wedding anniversary and decided we wanted to have a meal here. It was a great decision! The service we received was exceptionally good and the food was faultless. This is a small family run business and it showed in both the quality of the food and the level of service you receive. This place is well worth a visit. The pizza was amazing. The whole setting is worth checking out. I did see steaks on the next table and they also looked the dogs! The service was really excellent. You must give this place a go!
