Excellent pizza, very good Steak and super service. Reasonably priced. We booked that afternoon for 5.30pm on a monday night and by 6.00pm they were full! Got the last ferry back to Instow so could indulge in a couple of g&ts too They were also very busy with take away orders. Lighting a bit bright though.

Booked in whilst staying in Appledore. We were not disappointed, the pizza's were excellent. We would definitely recommend Flame Factory and if in Appledore again will definitely go back.

This place is always packed and yes, they thoroughly deserve their success. We make a point of making sure we book here every time we come to Appledore. The food is delicious , obviously top notch ingredients lovingly prepared and served. The atmosphere in the restaurant is buzzing, everyone from toddlers up is made to feel incredibly welcome. The staff are fantastic from the lady who welcomed us and showed us to our table to the very courteous young man who brought our bill. Well done to everyone at this fantastic restaurant. We will see you again next time we are in north Devon!

Had a lovely meal here during our stay in the area. This was definitely the best meal we had all week. The Factory Pizza I had was light and not greasy at all and tasted excellent. I had the cheesecake for pudding which was one of the best I have had. Staff were very friendly and valued for money was brilliant. Would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

This is a lovely place - pizza was excellent - i had the pear and blue pizza - was proper gorj - the service couldn't be faulted and atmos great - I would give this 4 and a half overall (have to leave room for outstanding!)

This lovely little family run business just over looking the estuary are very attentive - the food was lovely and the staff couldn’t do too much - it was coming to the end of the season but the staff were amazing - we have booked again for tonight and would highly recommend this lovely little place - booking is highly recommended as not many internal tables

Found the burgers to be okay but over priced. I think the place does so well as there isn't much similar competition in Appledore. Pleasant staff but we did have to wait quite a while for the food. .

What a find. We found the flame factory whilst walking around and booked for the next evening. Service was excellant, very friendly and heloful, lovely going out for an evening were there is a buzz. Food we couldn't fault had pizza, cheesy garlic bread, cheese cake home made and ice cream. Finished off with a bailys coffee. Will certainly be back.

We sat outside overlooking the port and ate steak and chips. Lovely food (even the cole slaw). Will return!

Absolutely stunning as always. My wife is Gluten free and these In her opinion are the best gluten free pizzas she had ever had. We always visit north Devon coast line every year and we always make a running joke that we reserve a night here before we book our accommodation ( yes that's how busy they are ) Also love watching the kitchen make and prepare the food. A well oiled machine.

We were ultra lucky to get a table in between bookings. Fabulous pizza, great flavours and variations, kids smaller portions not a problem, lovely customer service and a great atmosphere. We loved it and thank you for accommodating us and our dog! I would advise anyone to book a table in peak season to avoid disappointment, we were lucky but its just too good to risk not booking.

The only “hip” restaurant far and wide with a great menu. Getting a seat spontaneously is nothing short of a miracle, but they've adapted really well to 'to go', so you can then wait outside on one of the benches or on some of the beer benches outside. We had garlic bread (excellent), fries (also very good) and the pear gorgonzola salad, which unfortunately came without dressing, oil, salt, pepper, etc, but was still quite tasty. So a clear recommendation, but make sure to book in advance if you want to sit in and relax :)

Lovely place. Great dishes, nice staff and well run kitchen - was busy when we were there (ourselves a group of ten) but there were no long waiting times and every item ordered was really good. Recommended

Unimpressed with the service and mislead about it being dog friendly! We phoned up and booked prior, mentioning we would be bringing 2 dogs. When we got there we were seated at the most awkward table for dogs, the music was way too loud and overall did not give a ‘pet friendly’ vibe. It also said there was an outdoor seating area… this was literally just a couple of benches and tables placed across the road of the restaurant on a slope which made drinks difficult to keep up. We ultimately decided to order takeout and sit there as there was no room for our 2 SMALL dogs inside. One of the chefs was super helpful with helping us order takeaway quickly so that was good and the pizzas were okay:)

Excellent little restaurant that allows dogs. Lots of gluten free and dairy free/vegan options and were very good with allergies. Between us I can highly recommend the salads (with a side of garlic bread to share), steak and gf pizza. Would visit again.

We'd been wanting to try Flame Factory for ages. The menu looked great and they are well set up for gluten free (my wife is coeliac). We left a little underwhelmed. Our server was poor. She didn't explain the gluten free set up well (although we experienced no issues and they seem well set up to cater GF), and walked off after taking our order whilst we were about to ask her question. I then tried to get her attention, and she looked right through me even as I started talking to her! Service was much better for the latter part of the meal as one of the owners was serving, and was very helpful, friendly and chatty. The pizzas were okay, but one was cooked more than the other. Prices were what you'd expect for the location, plus the premium you pay for GF products. We both agreed that we'd probably go back in winter out of season to give it another try, as we can imagine it being cozy and inviting with the fire going, plus we were comfortable with their GF processes. We had really high hopes that weren't quite met this time, but we'll likely go back to try again.

The fabulous Flame Factory never disappoints. The food and service are always superb. Super friendly. We love this restaurant and look forward to our next visit.

We couldn't get a table on a busy Saturday evening. So opted for a takeaway, which was ready within 15.ins of ordering. The staff were lovely , very helpful. The food was excellent! Well done FlMe Factory.

Back again, and another great experience with friendly and accommodating service. This time, a perfectly cooked M/R Ribeye.... Just like every other visit a great selection of some very tasty food, lots of it locally sourced. In a cosy atmosphere did I mention excellent service.

Took the family and wasn’t disappointed. 3 of us had the pulled pork and chorizo burger. As I regularly do 12/14 pulled pork on my Kamado was interested to see how it compared. I wasn’t disappointed. Probably the best burger I’ve had this year. Chips were absolutely amazing. My eldest said the pizza was great which from a teenager is high praise!! Definitely going back when here again.

We've had a very nice meal I had a pizza with ham & pineapple we shared a garlic cheese bread all pizzas are made using Thier own fresh dough you can watch your food being cooked in the wood fire pizza oven my partner had a sirloin steak cooked medium just right with homemade french fries homemade coleslaw & mixed salad leaves & a Portobello mushroom good tasty local food great service very relaxed atmosphere I recommend booking they also have a disabled toilet there's one step into the flame factory would definitely be back they also do takeaways the young lads that work there worked together very well & the service was very good also they kept it nice & clean thank you for a lovely meal ❤️🦿❤️

Ordered a takeaway tonight from the takeaway kiosk at the side of the restaurant , we were told to wait at the tables across the road from the restaurant , there were several more customers behind us who ordered after us , we sat patiently waiting , order after order came out but not ours , everyone who ordered after us got there takeaway apart from us , we then decided to go back to the kiosk and my order was there under the counter waiting for me , i told him that he told me to wait across the road and the takeaway would be brought to me , he apologised & gave me my order , of course as you can imagine everything was cold , for the price of the order i believe they should have remade the whole order as a apology as they served us cold food

We went for my birthday on Thursday - bit disappointed after having visited regularly. I couldn't find any blue cheese in my smooth and easy burger, my husband was overladed with salad on his factory burger and both were overdone and tough. No courtesy check although the staff were a bit keen to clear the table! We also noted an awful lot of food going back especially the pizzas - again overdone and burnt. The chips were amazing as always! Shame as we usually have a great meal😒

Found this place from researching the best veggie restaurants in North Devon, It had great reviews online and I was craving pizza, I had to try it. Erin my server was really nice and helpful, thanks Erin!! Can’t believe the cook was so young! But daym the burger and chips were so nice. I went for the portobello mushroom with guacamole, roasted garlic peppers and chutney on a sourdough bun! Was soooo nice. I also ordered a takeaway pizza. If I’m ever in the area again with a friend, I shall take them there :)

We ate here on the first evening of our stay in the village and were not disappointed. The quality of the food was great and the staff very friendly and welcoming. We were lucky to have been able to get a table - we had not reserved a table and all others had been taken. The Pizza was very nice, the perfect size and cooked to perfection. We also had a chicken burger that was equally as good. I cannot fault the Flame Factory and look forward to returning in the future.

Fantastic pizza! I ate one pizza, and decided to forgo desert, and instead ate a second pizza! I should have taken a 3rd with me for breakfast the following morning… if I come back to appledore one day, it will be to eat here…

We had a ribeye steak and a pizza. The steak was one of the best I’ve had and the pizza was also excellent. The staff were great, efficient friendly and knowledgeable.

We visited Flame Factory twice during our week in North Devon, on our first night and last because it is such a brilliant place. Lovely vibe, relaxed, fresh, fabulous service and such amazing food. Possibly the best pizza I’ve ever had. We all loved it. Highly recommended.

What fantastic food and top quality service. We are here for a week but will go back. Everything was amazing and the food quality was excellent. Even the chips were fantastic not the frozen type. Just a gem of a place. Could not recommend more highly.

Last night of holiday . Brilliant choice . Staff couldnt be more helpful . I had a burger which was sooo tasty,rest of my family had the pizzas. Flour from Italy , all handmade. Taste amazing. Well worth a visit. Lovely atmoshere.

We visit every year when we are in the area . Friendly staff & cosy ambiance . Good choices of pizzas . We also had a sharing paddle as a starter . Nice local beers & ciders too ! We’ll be back next Spring :))

Managed to book for a Saturday night and was very pleased. They focus on 3 things - burgers, steak and Pizza and do them really well rather than try to have too wide a menu. I chose steak and it was the best I have had for a long time.

These guys do the most amazing rib eye steak take away. I’ve never come across this before but it was amazing. I’m looking forward to booking a meal in house. 👍

Very disappointed with our meal this evening always visit when we holiday in Appledore which is a least once a year. Ordered a sirloin steak cooked rare this evening was told the slices left were too thin to be cooked rare and all they had was ribeye so ordered one of those at £26 you expect the salad that accompanied it to have a little bit of dressing on it and not just something grabbed out of a bag and plonked on the plate the coleslaw was far too cold. The Flame used to be our go to place when in the area but the last few times we’ve visited have left disappointed a little of complacency as set in we feel

Oh my goodness the food here is amazing!!!! The service was spot on and the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere! This is our new favourite place to go to eat. Thanks to the staff for making it so enjoyable.

Sorry, but we have just had two takeaway pizzas and they were very soggy and greasy. Also undercooked. Its a shame we didn't eat in the restaurant as all those reviews were great.

So heartening to experience a young staff crew working in an efficient, co-ordinated and undemonstrative manner. And then to the fare.... Wow, wonderfully succulent local steak cooked to perfection, & the pizza was out of this world. That there was a stream of custom on a Monday evening in February, & reservations being made for the end of the week encapsulates Flame Factory's local popularity & sought-after ambiance.

This place is just fabulous. The waiter was lovely (sorry, didn’t ask your name). The food was excellent. We shared a garlic mushrooms to start. Great portion size. Enough for two. Then each of our pizza’s were fab. Roasted veg and sharp and salty. Generous size, great toppings. Satiated, both of us. Great atmosphere. Amazing place in a small town. Fabulous.

The most EPIC pizzas and amazing for gluten free - if you have coeliac disease they take cross contamination seriously and the staff are super helpful. Plus the pizzas are HUGE! Great atmosphere, I just love it here!!

Flame Factory is always on our must visit list when in Appledore. Visited a couple of weeks ago and as usual received a very warm welcome, the food was excellent as always. I fully recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting North Devon.

We have eaten here a number of times on previous visits to Appledore and the standard remains as good as always and would happily recommend to all, especially the burgers and salads.

I was recommended the flame factory for a birthday meal and it did not disappoint. Great selection of drinks.The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great and the service was fab and they even provided us plates and a knife for the birthday cake! Will definitely be back again and hopefully soon!
