On holiday all the way from Australia and I must say this is the best pizza I have ever had in my life and trust me I’ve had a lot of pizza. 10/10 for the food, nice location and a cool little vibe to the place. This is a MUST for anyone close or staying near by.

Fantastic team who clearly enjoy being together and doing what they do. The pizzas were excellent, served quickly with loads of flavour. Vast menu of pizza choices as well as being able to choose your own toppings. Definitely put this place on the stop and visit list! You won't be disappointed.

Fantastic pizzas and superb friendly people. A good selection of pizza on the menu and options to build your own. The pizzas are not small and taste fantastic. Ordered on line and was ready within 20 mins for collection.

Absolutely stellar find and exactly what you want from a casual diner near a beach. The pizzas were mega delicious Neapolitan-style, with loads of great toppings, and plenty of options to make them vege or vegan appropriate. The atmosphere was laid back with friendly service and the business clearly has a very positive attitude to staying eco-friendly. We'll definitely be back next time we're staying in the area.

Told there was a small wait approximately 35 - 40 mins, in which we were fine with. The lady who seemed to be in charge of the kitchen seemed to shrug us off with an excuse, which instantly left a bad vibe. 1 hour and 20 mins later still waiting and no communication from ANY of the staff while waiting inside the hallway for our order. During that time we had seen a few other people arrive, verbally order and pay for pizza and receive their food before us. Numerous food deliveries going out. Absolutely ridiculous service and I was fuming. My poor son waiting ages for his pizza and we drove 25 miles to eat there and watch the sunset over Lundy. We enjoyed a previous visit over a year ago, but it was dead quiet when visiting that time. Never again after this visit being bumped down the list and others being catered for before us, the pizzas were shockingly thin and tasteless, totally wasn’t worth the journey or wait at all. Do not recommend.

We always eat here when we visit Westward ho. We either order pizzas for takeaway or eat in. The team are always polite and friendly. Nice environment and atmosphere.

Fantastic spot tucked out of the mayhem of Westward Ho! Great pizza, idyllic seating area that is partially shaded. They even have a high chair and a few seats inside. Pizza is incredible and toppings are simple but so good!! They also have a great selection of wine and beer. Great spot to relax after a busy day at the beach

Having completed a long walk we ended up at the the Pig and Olive. Firstly what an amazing welcome from the staff. Customer service 10 out of 10. Even though they were really busy the young girl kindly charged my phone which had gone flat some miles earlier in the walk… she very kindly ordered my family and I a taxi to get back to our car. Whilst waiting for the taxi the next thing to arrive were three fabulously cooked pizza’s and some amazing dips to go with them. A perfect 10 out of 10 for food aswell !! Great location, great food and fantastic staff!!! Keep up the good work and thanks again for a lovely experience, we will most definitely will be back

Top notch pizza! Had a lovely time here, came back twice in our holiday to Westward Ho! Greg was a great host providing some entertainment for two tired children! Will definitely return when we are back!

Fantastic pizza served in a really friendly little place. Went yesterday evening, there was only one person working on the pizza servery and she was working like a Trojan, being run ragged with orders. Despite that, our pizzas came pretty quickly in about 20 minutes and were delicious. The bottle is Sicilian white was pretty good too! Excellent place, we will return for sure.

Last night (26th March) we popped in to order pizza , as always we were not disappointed with the quality of the food. However, we did feel sorry for the young girl who was stretched to the max . She was answering the phone taking orders, serving walk in customers, making pizzas all by herself, which must have been so stressful. Her screen was full of orders . 💯 per cent effort , she maintained a smile on her face and kept apologising to customers for the wait . Definitely multi-tasking on another level ! This young lady deserves a medal , I honestly don’t know how she got through it. Many would have crumbled under the pressure or just walked out. She is a credit to your business , please look after her.

We dropped in to the Pig and Olive on holiday in Westward Ho! after looking at reviews, and it did not disappoint! We had the "Pig and Olive" pizza and a couple of crust dips and it was one of the best pizzas we've had. There was no trouble swapping the items for an alternative, and the staff were super friendly. There's a great selection of local drinks available. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good pizza in Westward Ho!

The pizza garlic bread was simply as good as it gets! Wonderful pizza base and delicious toppings. The perfect combination of light thin base and crispy wood fired crust. I've had some nice pizzas to set my bar high but I can't imagine how this one could be any better!

We first went here to get a hot chocolate as it opened to be told they had no milk even though it had a massive sign saying coffee and hot chocolate.2 days later ordered pizzas 7 infact that came too £100 we ordered on their app which app and although said delivery was free charged us £2.50 after it arriving 1 hour late after I called and they had blatantly forgot the order was cold and completely wrong anc was told a manager would call me later never did. Also their pepperoni is called “crumbs “ and I sprinkled lightly on the pizza. Pepperoni in sprinkles is new to me. Charging too much for bog standard takeaway pizza

Ordered a takeaway vegan pizza online. I had specified the collection time but I arrived earlier. The waitress was lovely and immediately asked the kitchen to make my pizza. The pizza was tasty, good amount of toppings and the vegan cheese was good. Looking forward to coming back!

Tried the new Christmas menu, and it was fantastic. Pigs and blankets to start with and Beef and Blue for main. Kept warm with blankets provided and heated lamps. Perfection👌

Picked up my usual Pig and Olive pizza. On time, lovley and piping hot. Was about to get a brownie (can’t resist them) but spotted a mincemeat brownie. Absolutely delicious. Also saw some Christmas pizzas on the menu. Can’t wait to try these!!! Just love PIg and Olive. The best pizzas and the staff are just lovely!!!

Delicious gluten free pizza, base just right, tasty toppings. Delivered in plenty of time. Wouldn’t know the base was gluten-free.

Had googled this place before coming as it looked good. We had a great walk along the beach and then stopped for lunch here. Lovely spot and open all year round. The pizzas were delicious. You can eat in or take them away. Loved that all the packaging was recyclable. Would defo recommend!

Visited with family for the first time whilst on holiday. Everyone enjoyed their food (and drink). We enjoyed it so much my wife and I visited a few more times in the afternoons. I really enjoyed the pizzadog.

Ordered a gluten free pizza from Pig and Olive. The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is lovely and the food was delicious. I dined in but took my leftovers home with me. I’ll definitely be back, this is a gem of a place, esp for a coeliac.

We love the P&O pizza’s - have one every time we are in Appledore. We usually collect but had a great experience with delivery this time. Would recommend! Haven’t eaten in but maybe next time!

Wanted light lunch. Called in. Saw Portafoglio on menu. Decided to try one. Different choices. I asked what the ‘Pig & Olive special’ was. Staff man there said it was don’t know! So ordered a one of the others. Ordered a gin & tonic, was meant to be garnished with lemon & rosemary. He brought it in a plastic glass, bottle of tonic, no ice or garnish. We were the only 2 in there. 5 mins after we had ordered he came & asked what fillings we had asked for. It came & was on a throwaway plate & looked unappealing. Wouldn’t bother going again. Awfil

We stayed in a property close to Pig and Olive and very often enjoyed the aroma of their cooking. On one occasion my wife had called in to ask if the kitchen could open a can after the one in our rental broke. They looked too good to miss. The first food we bought from them was the Pig and Olive special and a garlic bread. The pizza was delicious and the garlic bread was crisp, salty and had lots of garlic. Absolutely great. The next time, we had a Napoli with vegan cheese and my wife had hame and mushroom. Both were excellent. They provide buzzers so that people waiting for their food to be cooked, will know when it ready. Pig and Olive are beside a surf school and quite close to the beach. If you’re in Westward Ho!, treat yourself.

Really really really really disappointed with this place which is hard for me to say because this is our 3rd year in a row visiting Westward Ho and this place is one we look forward to. However this year has been awful. We made a couple of visits because our children love pizza and they are fussy, but love Pizza and one has an allergy. First visit was OK but pizzas cold and not to standard. But tonight we also asked for garlic bread but with vegan cheese (we had a vegan pizza for our daughter) Considering the national news about a young girl dying because she was given milk in a Costa Coffee shop recently, you'd think food businesses would be extra careful. Guess what? They didn't use vegan cheese and our 2 year old had a reaction. We used to LOVE this place and it's the one place we always plan to visit before anything or anywhere else on our visit here but there's no way we could ever trust them ever again. If you or a child has a food allergy, this is NOT the place to trust.

I am SO EXCITED AND HAPPY TO REVIEW. We’re holidaymakers, so this is the 2nd time we’ve ordered. Last years order, whilst DELICIOUS,, was slightly marred by a delivery c@@@ up. Which was explained (new delivery driver), and MANY apologies and rectifications given. PERFECTLY ACCEPTABLE. Yesterday’s order was NOTHING less than OMG. DELICIOUS. It’s been MANY YEARS since I’ve eaten Salami like it, and Hot Honey just YUM. The following chocolate Browniewas equally delicious. Uber rich and moist. However I have to digress, because for us, the Mamas recipe bean salad was mind blowing. As delicious as it was healthy! CANNOT recommend this place enough. SUPERB, OUTSTANDING, DELICIOUS! Thank you so much guys, you turned a simple holiday takeaway into an experience. I’m only grateful we have a further few weeks to get a repeat custom in!

We ordered online - the site was easy to navigate and the food delivered within the time slot, nice and hot, and incredibly tasty.

Nice food but nothing special and quite expensive for what it is. Except the pizza dogs which we do get as take away from time to time, they are excellent. But not sure we would go to sit in again. It’s cold and the tables/chairs are uncomfortable. I understand but don’t like that we have to clear our own table at the end and separate everything for recycling. I like dogs but don’t appreciate them next to me when I’m eating especially when they’ve been on the beach.

We came here not long ago and were really looking forward to coming here after reading the countless positive reviews, but sadly left rather disappointed. The restaurant has no waiting service, so you're required to dispose of your own paper plates/cans/etc. This would be fine if the waste bins weren't so close to the eating area, and it'd be much more hygenic if they were pedal operated. Drink glasses were not properly cleaned. There was some kind of dirt/powder on the rims. But the main issue was the pizzas, which were quite bland with a meagre amount of toppings. The crusts were rather burnt, and the pizzas weren't that warm upon serving, meaning they went cold quite quickly. We also had to waste time cutting them ourselves as they were really poorly cut. Most of the slices were barely separated. It wasn't easy to cut them with a knife and fork either due to how dry and tough the base/crust was. Dessert was not much better, either. At least the pesto crust dipper was quite nice, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Maybe it was just an off day?

Ordered two pizza for take out from the Westward Ho! Restaurant. Order times took 45-60 minutes. Toppings on both pizzas were absolutely barebones which was very disheartening and disappointing considering all the 4 and 5-star reviews the restaurant has received. Save your ££ and avoid being discontented.

Saw story in Devon Live about this place winning award so was very pleased to go there. I only had a pizza dog with hot chilli honey that was fantastic. Great toppings for the pizzas with interesting salads and dips. A beach shack vibe with paper plates and throw away cutlery. Take your own or get take away. Lovely friendly team and 1st class pizzas...

I visited last week and experienced a nice atmosphere and amazing service, however I did notice in the bathroom that the disability alarm string was only half there, meaning it isn’t usable. I told the staff about this during my visit and they said that they weren’t able to do anything about it at that point, so I’m unsure if it’s been fixed since then. Apart from that I enjoyed my experience.

Pizza was very tasty but base did not have enough topping. I had Napoli pizza with hot honey. Only 4 slices of salami on whole 8 slice pizza and they did not give me any mozzarella as per pizza description. For £15 I would have expected more salami and cheese. Waited 30 minutes for pizza as they were very busy. They would benefit for having a better beer selection and regular coke or Pepsi for the kids as drinks available were very artisan in choice.

Beautiful food 👌 Simple concept perfectly executed of really great food, laid back, comfortable dining, dog friendly making it a perfect stop for anyone pecking strolling off the beach. The pizzas were incredible. The only thing that could have made it better for us was maybe some extra choices on the sides like fries or wedges, maybe some chicken, possibly a couple of kids options to help keep cost down a little.. but having said I understand you're probably just keeping it simple and killin' it with the pizzas👌

Popped in here before starting our journey home from our holiday in devon and our only wish was we had found this place sooner! The pizzas were awesome! My husband loves pizza and thinks this is the best he has had (and he’s had lots). They were also really on it regards allergens - my 6 year old is dairy free and they were offering DF options for most of if not all of their pizzas and more impressively he ate it which shows how good it was as usually a bit of a battle. We will definitely be visiting as soon as we’re in the area again! Dog friendly too.

Wow! What a place, a slice of Italy on the Devonshire coast. The service was so friendly and warm. The dough was both soft and crispy and the ingredients fresh like the summer sea breeze over the bay. If I had a penny for how many tastebuds were happy I’d be a zillionaire, wowza. Only comment was that it would be good to have a bigger range of sizes and sides. Otherwise Pig and Olive, you have a Pizza of my heart.

We visit Westwood Ho a couple of times a year and always look forward to a Pig and Olive takeaway pizza on the beach. Disappointedly, our pizza was pretty burnt this time and wasn’t pleasant. Sometimes, with Neapolitan style pizzas, a little burn doesn’t hurt and can add to the flavour, but this was overdone.

We stopped here for lunch and did not regret it, gorgeous pizzas and crust dippers, we had the chilli infused honey one and caramelised garlic and Parmesan one, both insanely good and I would never even try the garlic and herb ones that come with supermarket or delivery pizzas. I chose to have the spinach and mushroom one and added Italian sausage, nothing was too much trouble. It’s a small venue so they now have a recycling station for you to get rid of the waste - loved. This as we like to do our bit to save the planet. You order your food at the til and take your drinks and a pages so you know it’s ready to collect. This took around 8 minutes but we were the only ones waiting for food at that point. We were served by Meg who was super friendly and helpful. When she found out that we were tourists she took the time to write down some recommendations which I thought was so sweet. Right next to the beach and a nice beach hut vibe we would not hesitate to recommend the Pig and Olive 100%
