Number 73 Bar and Kitchen in Havant

We have visited a few times and can honestly say the service, food and drinks are all great. Jamie, the Manager, is the best host… nothing is too much trouble. The Sunday lunch is great , and would recommend the pigs in blankets & cauli cheese as they are both delicious. I look forward to the summer when we can enjoy the garden in the sun. We went for dinner on Saturday evening. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a great atmosphere. Service was excellent and staff very efficient considering the place was full. The food was nice but not as good as it was when we went for breakfast. The only options for a vegetarian is Katsu curry with sweet potato croquettes or a vegan burger.

Ordered Sunday Roast! My fiancée had the lamb, I had the beef and we shared the Cauliflower and Cheese. Both dishes were superb! The veggies were perfectly cooked and it was as close to a home cooked Sunday Roast as you could possibly get. My fiancée being British is an expert on Roast dinners and she gave it 2 thumbs up!! She said it was the best she’s had in a long time. The service was quick and very friendly. Atmosphere was wonderful. We had a fabulous time and will definitely be back very soon! Thank you to the Manager, Jamie who made our experience a lot of fun!

Sunday lunch is always amazing. Had lamb this week and it was gorgeous. Staff are very efficient and friendly as always. Can highly recommend.

Was skeptical before entering, BUT what a super place! The braised beef short ribs were sublime and the katsu curry vegan croquettes very tasty. The staff were so helpful and pleasant and even the Elvis entertainer was good( against all expectations- so well done to him too!!) we will definitely be going back, stayed a lot longer than we had planned and would recommend giving it a try!

Bit pricey for Waterlooville but really nice place

Been here a couple of times and cant fault the food or service, however, trying to speak to someone to book a table is a shambles. I have called three times and left my number each time and had no response. Whats the point of having a message system if you dont use it. Pull your finger out and look after your customers, because now we are going elsewhere which may become our favourite place!!!!

Such an amazing atmosphere! We had Hannah as our server and she was so amazing, so happy and bubbly exactly what you would expect from a place like this. Would highly recommend! And best drinks from Matt too!

My first visit having recently moved into the area. I was very impressed by our Sunday roast lunch food quality and generous portion size, as was my guest. Service from the Owner and waitress was exemplary throughout. Good drinks and food menus. Excellent friendly atmosphere; full of couples, parents with young children and multi-generation celebrations. So pleased to have found a delightful eaterie walking distance of home....I shall be back!!)) ✅👍🤣🤣

Another fabulous roast at 73 London Road. Firstly, the welcome by all the staff is friendly and courteous and you feel looked after the minute you walk in the door. The atmosphere and decor is very tranquil and stylish. Now the roast! Between us we had the pork belly and beef, both were amazing. Full of flavour, juicy and melts in your mouth. Just the right amount of veg and potato and then the biggest Yorkshire pud ever, all finished off with a rich tasty gravy. Our friends went on to have the apple crumble and cheese board. Both of which were well received. Crumble was full of apple with a thick crunchy topping and smooth custard and the cheese board had plenty of variety with a good selection of biscuits. All in all I can't recommend 73 London Road highly enough! We're just pleased it's on our doorstep.

Went to this restaurant for the first time tonight for my Granddaughters birthday…and what a disappointment it was…half of the items they didn’t have….brought the wrong pizza out…asked for pepperoni but got margarita….no kid’s menu….the prices are terrible….£17.50 for a burger….the babies changing toilet was freezer…and they put a 10% service charge on…and the waitress Had the check to ask if i wanted my change…(to right I did)…the only good thing was the restaurant was clean and lovely and staff was nice and friendly…will not be going back again…

The only place to drink in Waterlooville.

We visited 73 today for our Christmas Dinner, and it was an exceptional experience. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was outstanding, with a notable level of attention to detail throughout our visit. Jamie , was particularly attentive and welcoming, making us feel at home, which has always been the case during our visits. The overall atmosphere exuded friendliness, enhancing our dining experience further. We consistently appreciate the great quality of food and the outstanding service provided here. It truly is a lovely place to enjoy a meal.

Turkey dinner was awful,turkey sliced too thick and very dry, roast potatoes obviously frozen,no peas ,carrots awful ,overall the worst meal l have ever tasted plate was full of sprouts and parsnips.

We came here for our office Christmas lunch, the food was delicious and the staff were lovely. I love the stylish and cosy atmosphere, especially this time of the year. We all had a great time, thanks Number 73.

Booked for my mum's birthday, small plates were delicious but my dad ordered the turkey roast was really over done but he didn't want to make a fuss! Puddings were amazing! Drinks pretty good too! Only thing I could criticise a little was the service although everyone was lovely, they were constantly checking on us asking the same questions like they weren't communicating with eachother. It was just a bit much every 5 minutes. Would recommend the small plates though! Sooo good!!!

Jamie fitted us in last minute for our works do as where we were had a powercut and we couldn't eat or drink there.... Number 73 made us feel very welcome, were very attentive, the quality of food, drinks and atmosphere was outstanding...we will definitely be back! Thankyou again for saving our evening!

What a smashing place, number 73 is. All the staff are very knowledgeable, and friendly and made our visit perfect. Apologies regarding the stater picture. We were hungry so bits were missing. BBQ burnt ends were busting with flavour. The prawns were juicy and the sauce was good. Highly recommend the bread and olives. To mop all the sauces up. Knowledgeable. Matt, the manager helped advise my friend regarding the way to have her steak cooked. Impressed, not just wanting to take our order and go. Making sure we fully enjoyed the whole experience. I had already asked the open-plan kitchen what they would recommend. The chef said the steak or the short rib. WOW! A perfect bowl of goodness. The beef was soft, juicy and plentiful. Sitting on some red cabbage that was both sweet and acidic completing the beef & the gravy.

We are four vegetarians and one vegan. We went for Sunday roast of roasted cauliflower with all the trimmings and cauliflower cheese for the veggies. There was plenty on our plates but they gave us complimentary vegan potato croquettes as well! All of the food was delicious. My husband had a cocktail to drink and our daughter and me tried it, again delicious. The restaurant itself is tastefully decorated, comfy seating and not cramped at all. The music playing was great as we could still have a conversation but nice to listen to. The service was brilliant. Very attentive staff and polite. We will definitely go back as, all in all, a very enjoyable time.

Absolutely love No73 - especially for gluten-free options! Almost all of the menu is GF/GFA, and every time I’ve been there, the food has been delicious. The crispy calamari is a must! Big favourite in my family, especially as a few of us are coeliac.

Friendly staff, good range of food and cocktails

Unfortunately the dessert did let this down a little. Roast dinner was lovely Service very good. Unfortunately the cold dry brownie was a disappointment. Wouldn't recommend the brownie, didn't eat the brownie but still paid for it, was not offered to take off the bill. The crumble and churros was a hit with the rest of our dining table.

Food was absolutely lovely, service was fantastic and the atmosphere was lovely. Jamie went out of his way for us as we had a booking for 18 people. The team kept checking that we were all happy. I would 100% recommend this restaurant 👌 Sunday roast is to die for, especially the belly pork 😋

We have been here a few times now, I will say the other times we're memorable, but after this time it was not the best and it was not even busy, dirty tables and food on floor, empty bottle under are table, dirty cloth on the table next to us. Staff diss interest, and would rather chat, main course was a roast and was very nice, when we finished plate's were taken, then no one came to see if we wanted a dessert menu, 25 minutes passed, wife had to find someone to get a dessert menu, manager came, to take order for dessert. Said to him about no one coming to see if we wanted anything else, his excuse was all waitresses were on there break.what restaurant does that.

Came here with my family for a Sunday dinner. The food was absolutely amazing. We walked in and Matt was incredibly friendly, gave us a fantastic welcome. Jamie then looked after us and was equally great. One of the best (if not the best) local roasts I’ve had, would happily go here again

What a nice surprise. We went for an early mid-week diner. Relaxed atmosphere in the well decorated restaurant. Friendly staff. We both really enjoyed the steak, and vegetarian pasta dishes. Waterlooville is lucky to have somewhere of this standard.

Had another fantastic meal at Bar 73 . Our Sunday lunch was faultless. We ate : 1: Beautifully cooked roast beef , perfectly rare and succulent. 2: Melt in the mouth roast lamb full of flavour . The meat was obviously from a joint , not thin slivers from mass produced catering packs. Freshly prepared , tasty vegetables , and gravy , clearly made with real meat juices. All arrived piping hot . Bar 73 has a semi open kitchen and when we eat there ,when I see that Jordan the Head Chef is in the kitchen , I know that we are going to have a fantastic meal . Once again the food under Jordan’s direction in the kitchen was fabulous . The service was excellent , friendly, attentive and professional . All the front of house team were great , as usual . On this visit Pia really stood out. Loved her” quirky vibe “ and the way she interacted with us as if she knew us . There was a new member of front of house staff being trained . We overheard how her colleague was training her and it was all about the customer . The discussions were about , how to make a great dining experience for customers . The food at Bar 73 is made with love and passion. The service is excellent . No surprise that they are the number one place to eat in Waterlooville on Trip Advisor .

I'm sorry to have to write this as the staff were lovely, but the food not that good. We ordered 3 roast beef and 1 fish and chips, the beef was a little dry around the edges, and only one of us had a home made Yorkshire pudding, the other 2 were flat frozen ones. The fish and chips was a joke, the fish was flat and not much bigger than a large fish finger. We were hungry and ate the food. The manager came and spoke to us and was very apologetic and was surprised we were not happy. He said the fish was fresh, but no way was it fresh, it was to firm and flat, fresh fish would be thicker and much more flakier. He did not charge us for the fish, which was good of him. He said they go for flavour more than quantity. But the potatoes were well cooked and we showed the waitress the badly black one and the edge of the beef which was dry and curled up. The place as a building was lovely and well spaced out, but not worth the money on the food. Once again sorry but sometimes flavour and quantity need to be addressed. My husband has just retired from the food standards agency and he's been around food for 40 years service, so knows fresh from frozen

Had a lovely evening with friends. We had the small plates and shared-they were all amazing. The atmosphere was fabulous and the staff were attentive. There was a wide selection of drinks from various gins to ales to wines. My friends had never been before, but said they will definitely return.

First time visiting with a group of three friends for the evening. Will definitely be back! What a lovely place and such a nice atmosphere - all the staff were so friendly especially Lexi and Emily who served us. The food was superb - we all had the steak which was delicious. A real gem of a place and cant wait to visit again.

Having seen the reviews was looking forward to coming here. On first impressions the restaurant has great decor, choice of drinks and food. However after waiting over 15min for our drinks order to be taken while watching 2 young girl waitresses and a manager wander about chatting and also listening to other customers complaining. There looked like there was no sign of our order being taken so we left with a grunt of a sorry from the waitress. Such a shame.

My friend and I went for an impromptu dinner this evening (Friday 26th) we were served by Emily throughout the evening. Her attentive, friendly spirit is absolutely worth a mention. From the minute we arrived to when we left Emily was nothing less than excellent! We mentioned her service to her and the manager in at the time but for anyone reading this the food was excellent but the service was outstanding. Well done Emily ❤️

What a fabulous place. We only stumbled across number 73 because we were getting the car cleaned nearby. Made to feel welcome by nice smiley happy staff and the manager. The place is so clean and inviting. We both had roast beef which was amazing and a side of cauliflower cheese. We are definitely going back. We would like to try other things on the menu, and it’s very reasonably priced. Was busy with a good atmosphere. Nothing to complain about at all 🙂

What an absolutely fantastic night at this great Bar/restaurant. Food and service was excellent. Our party of 12 were made so welcome by the Manager and all the staff. Never seen Mark Harris who was the wonderfull entertainment on Thursday 6th June 2024 before. What a great singer and personality Mark is. Will DEFINATELY be returning, hopefully Mark will be there singing again.

This is a gem of a gastro pub right in the heart of Waterlooville centre. Superb food, great atmosphere and a warm, friendly service.

We love coming to no73. The food is delicious and freshly cooked to order. The BBQ beef burnt ends are our favourite. The staff are very professional and attentive, but not too over the top, we never feel rushed. The manager is always present and taking pride in his restaurant, overseeing everything runs smoothly. Been here several times for Sunday lunch, brunch and dinner. Always friendly service. Good menu and venue is accommodating for dogs (in the sheltered courtyard) and childrens fussy food habits!

Would have been 5 stars but made to feel uncomfortable about booking a table in the restaurant as it was a special occasion when the senior member of staff wanted us to sit on a pub table as it was easier for them. Never had an issue on a Sunday so weekday staff need to be more customer focused and if the booking allows you to select a table in the restaurant should be honoured without being made to feel as if we were an inconvenience!

What a hidden gem no 73 is , a fantastic team led by Jamie ,who’s ’old school approach to service is top class . I am a regular , but am always treated as if it’s my first visit . There is a varied menu with tapas and main courses and of course the now legendary Sunday roast , Thursday is the new sat with music every week which I love as the atmosphere is always lively!!

Such a friendly atmosphere in here. Me and my partner go in for regular date nights and we love it! Good selection of drinks, we are yet to try the food but that’s on the to do list!🤣

Had a fantastic roast dinner here with our family, top marks were agreed all round! The bar has a great atmosphere and friendly/helpful staff. Featuring a bar area, restaurant area and a decent courtyard garden, the space is tastefully renovated. Our food was all very tasty; chicken, lamb, pork belly and chicken roasts were ordered, all of the meats were well cooked and flavoursome. My lamb was very tender, had some nice crispy edges but still melted in the mouth. The cauliflower cheese was VERY cheesy, don't get that often anymore so that was a decent touch. The bar offers breakfast, lunch and dinner menus throughout the week also, I would enjoy trying the dinner menu one evening.

Service was excellent really accommodating , the food was outstanding definitely worth a visit don't know how we haven't been there before!

Excellent service! We celebrated my son’s 18th bday at Number 73 last Thursday and it was a blast! Everything was excellent, food, drinks, atmosphere , staff who went above and beyond. There was live music, with dance and singing along. The food was preordered and everything ready by the time we came in. I would absolutely recommend them!! Special thanks to Jamie, Dan and all the staff on Thursday 28th of March. Definitely an evening to remember, we can’t thank you enough. See you soon.

Fabulous Sunday lunch, everything cooked to perfection. Service is 100%. Prices in my opinion are very good for the standard you receive. Would highly recommend No 73 whether it’s a pop in for a coffee or a meal. A place where you feel totally comfortable. Give it a go.

We didn’t have a booking and it was a Saturday evening. The bar manager asked if we could wait 30 mins and a table should be free. We waited and we were very glad that we did! The food was delicious! All freshly made with no hint of a ‘microwave ding’. The staff were amazing and the manager was extra amazing. He looked after me when I knocked my glass over moving to a dining table from the bar area. I cut my hand and he came to my rescue with tissues and plasters. He even mopped up my blood from the floor in the ladies bathroom. Over and beyond, I feel!

Once again a fabulous evening at Bar 73. My husband arranged an impromptu surprise birthday meal for me with a group of friends and family. As usual the food was excellent. Tasty and prepared with the care and passion that I have always experienced on all of my visits. The food service from the kitchen for the whole group was impeccable. The table service from the staff was , friendly , warm and professional . The staff have obviously been trained well as they strike the perfect balance of attentive but not overbearing. They always have a warm welcome for their customers. Many thanks to Jaime and the team for another faultless evening.

Second time here for Sunday roast . This place is the only one I can find in the area that I can have everything on the roast including Yorkshire pudding as I am gluten free .and it is delicious. The service and staff are lovely.

A nice little gem in the town centre

I just so happened across this restaurant as I was waiting for my car to be valeted nearby. Seeking a nice coffee, I dropped in about 945am. I was amazed at how lovely the interior is and gobsmacked really considering how run down waterlooville has become, this is like a jewel shining bright! I ended up ordering breakfast as the menu looked so appetising! I wasn’t disappointed, in fact this had to be one of the best breakfasts I have ever had. Poached egg perfect, soft vine tomatoes, quality bread, clearly butchers sausages, fine bacon and a crispy golden hash brown that didn’t ooze oil or grease. I’m not one for mushrooms usually but these were tasty and cooked to perfection! Homemade beans? Lush!! This place is fantastic, lovely staff, had a nice chat to a few of them, thank you for looking after me this morning. I can see why you are busy at this time of the morning, no expense spared on quality ingredients, but very good value when the bill arrived. I’ll be back with the family!

Vakentine's Night - Excellent Steak Meal followed by an exquisite Strawberries dipped in dark chocolate, shortbread and Salted Caramel and Chocolate dips. A Super meal, lovely evening, the dessert was a taste explosion, the large strawberries were sweet and succulent, and the chocolate covering so so so so good! We had the South African Merlot which was very nice too. The staff were excellent all night, you can imagine, it was busy, but they were bright, cheerful and attentive without ever getting in the way of the diners. Thoroughly recommend no 73.

Jordan the head chef cooked me and my family the most amazing meal. I attend all the time with friends and family and are never disappointed. Number 73 is by far the best restaurant in Waterlooville, from the moment you walk in it fells like your wrapped in a warm hug. The rustic decor, soft lighting, and friendly staff set the stage for a memorable dining experience.

I’ve now been to this wonderful restaurant bar several times so feel able to leave an accurate review. Firstly the food is consistently extremely good. The Sunday dinners are fantastic. The staff are always extraordinarily happy and helpful and the service is first rate there is always a very good atmosphere and ambience, there is a wide selection of drinks available and their cocktails are excellent. My only regret is I don’t live nearer! Thoroughly recommend this venue

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our evening here, the service was great staff very friendly and attentive. We started with chicken tenders, bread and olives and squid rings. These starters were very very tasty, I've never tasted chicken tenders like it before, very succulent and cooked to perfection. I had the pork belly and my partner had the chorizo pasta tagliatelle. These were both delicious but I was a little disappointed with the pork belly plate, when it came to me the presentation could be improved slightly and maybe same greens added would be good. With that said the taste of the pork belly itself was absolutely divine and cooked to perfection 👌. I would definitely recommend here for a nice weekday evening dinner, it very quite and ideal for a nice quiet dinner for couples. We will come back here again for sure. Thank you
