Three of us came for a pre-booked afternoon tea. Everything was good, and exactly as the poster advertised it. Great choice of savouries - finger sandwiches, coronation chicken crispbread, sausage roll and delicious quiche. Sweets included individual fruit and cream sundae, assorted mini cakes, and scone with jam and cream. There was a choice of various teas and coffees, of which we had two each. The service was excellent too, and the whole experience was very good value for money at just £19.95 per person. Would highly recommend.

Nice food, wide range of choice but most importantly great staff. Everyone I encountered was fun and friendly. I was initially served by Marie & Denise who were polite, helpful and full of banter! I returned to the counter later for cakes and was served again by Denise who had everyone around me laughing and smiling with her jokes. It was very noticeable and a refreshing change from so many places where standard of service is not at this high level. Thanks also to Thomas who served our food!

We stopped for breakfast in Notcutts restaurant and was served by Polly and Marie. Both were very friendly and chatty. The food was delicious and plentiful and well presented, very efficient, and with more smiles. Polly's coffee was the best I'd tasted in a long time. If you get there early, you get 2 for one. The restaurant was clean and roomy with a lovely outlook. It's definitely worth a visit when in Solihull.

My very elderly mother and I wanted breakfast but we were 4 minutes late . We were served by someone quite unhelpful (very quickly redeemed by Polly the supervisor who is always outstanding) I asked if there was any other food and was told no, I said can you do toast , Polly pointed out the 11.30 menu that was very suitable for a breakfast alternative. The restaurant and the store were exceptionally cold . Staff were wearing coats. My mum could not get warm and couldn’t try clothes on in the changing rooms. Not great .. but Polly was so helpful .

A lovely lunch today, thank you! A shout out to Michele, the chef, who rarely gets a mention. Food is well prepared, fresh and tasty and served with a smile by Sam at the till who also deserves a big-up for his exceptional customer service. As first time visitors we expected our experience to be similar to other restaurants within garden centres. It was, as far as higher prices were concerned. They were geared up to breakfast orders, so my toasted teacake took its turn in the backlog and by the time it arrived I had finished my coffee. Maybe snacks could be dealt with at the service counter so that customers don't wait so long. My teacake was cold when it arrived so I suspect it got lost in the busy kitchen. Not ideal.

As regular visitors (Sage Club) we are pretty much used to being told there are heating issues but last week was exceptional. Along with the majority of the customers we needed to sit and eat in our top coats as it was freezing. On commenting/complaining to staff - both in restaurant and at Customer Services - we were told that YET AGAIN the boilers needed repairs. As regular shoppers and customers isn't it about time they are replaced or repaired permanently? We feel very sorry for the staff who have to work in such awful conditions - surely illegal? If this situation exists on our next visit we'll just move on somewhere else despite missing the benefits of Sage membership.Management and overall company ownership should be thoroughly ashamed. If THEY were the visitors they would be highly unlikely to return!

Visited here for breakfast with Santa with my husband daughter son-in-law and 3 grandchildren 9,7 and 4. The whole experience was lovely, it was set up in a separate room to the cafe, decorated very Christmasy and quite cosy. Thought it was a great idea to be separate from the cafe so the children didn’t disturb anyone else and although all the kids were well behaved but obviously excited, it was nice to be able to enjoy breakfast knowing the children couldn’t get out.Breakfast, which was served by the elf’s, had been freshly cooked and piping hot and a good size. Santa arrived and spoke to every child as he walked round the tables. Santa then called the children to him and told them a story and saying a song with them before giving out the gifts. The gifts were of good quality and all the children loved them. Santa posed for photographs with individual children in his cosy corner. We have been to many santa breakfasts but this was top of my list. The staff and elves and Santa were really good and helpful, Santa was friendly and approachable my grandchildren enjoyed it immensely, (even the one who is a non believer ish). I would thoroughly recommend this as a treat for the children before Christmas. The only little bug bear was that tea and coffee has to be purchased separately, we assumed that being a cooked breakfast was served beverages would be included.

The manager explained it was due to the weather in the week. Very surprised to find that tea/coffee wasn’t included in the breakfast price and had to get it ourselves from the cafe. Children’s breakfast arrived first then adults. The beans were missed off one of our breakfasts. Had to ask for toast. The Santa visit was fine for the children but overall I feel other venues is better value.

Had a lovely breakfast here meeting Father Christmas with our toddler. The staff were really well organised and kept the event running smoothly, I liked that the numbers were kept relatively low so you didn't feel like you were waiting around or were crowded. They served up breakfast promptly (making sure kids were fed first) and Father Christmas spent time saying hello to every child, then told a story and gave out individual presents, calling each child by name. Lots of time after for photos as well. My only slight criticism was the marquee was a bit cold just where we were sitting and when I was sitting with my little boy near FC there was a ldamp patch on the floor that i had to try to avoid (to be fair, I was offered a seat but chose to sit on the floor). It was nice they'd set up a separate area for the breakfast rather than being in the main restaurant, I think this did make it more festive. The price was very reasonable for the experience and would definitely recommend it!!

We decided to try notcutts because we knew our friend would like it. We booked a table for four and we had an afternoon tea, now I've never had an afternoon tea before so before we left home I prepared our Sunday dinner for when we got home later, well what a waste of time that was because an afternoon tea consists of a pot of tea which was hot not boiling but just right, 3 small sandwiches which was egg mayonnaise, cheese and pickle and tuna with mayonnaise and the tuna was about 1 inch thick(wow) 1 scone each and clotted cream and a small jar of jam and we also got a small chocolate cake which was so moist it was unbelievable followed by a lemon meringue which was unbelievable light and we also had a macaroon each. Now we are all in our fortys unlike a lot of people who were here today but I can honestly say that we were all full up after this meal so preparing our Sunday meal for when we got home was a waste of time. The staff were very helpful and attentive and the guy on the till who may have been the manager was very nice and came over to us when we were going just to ask us if we had a good time, he actually sounded as though he really cared so thank you and thank the staff. My only gripe is that 2 hours later I'm still full.

Went with a friend for the festive afternoon tea as we thought it would be something a bit special. Unfortunately, we felt a bit underwhelmed by the spread. Two types of finger sandwiches: cheese and pickle , turkey and cranberry. We felt the whole thing lacked some refinement as the bread for the sandwiches was cut very thick. There were two large sausage rolls so we cut one in half and shared. The mince pie also was very large and that had to be cut up. On the other hand the piece of Christmas cake was miniscule. There was a tasty bit of smoked salmon with cream cheese which was possibly the highlight. We felt there was enough to eat but as a Christmas treat it completely lacked any festive spirit. A xmas napkin or a cheap cracker would have made all the difference as would smaller more delicate items to eat. The staff were very attentive and helpful. The problem lies with whoever organised the menu for this festive afternoon tea.

My 3 and 1 year old children love seeing the Christmas displays and the fish/bunnies etc. It’s a shame that the cafe lets it down. The food menu is old-fashioned and most meals are accompanied by chips. The decor is also out-dated. On recommendation, we popped in here early afternoon today (Sun 19 Aug) for lunch on the way from North Wales to London. At the servery we met the Manager Chris Baker, exasperated as he had just had a coach party in without warning and they had virtually eaten him out of everthing. We asked what was left and on checking he managed to rustle up two Sunday Roasts. He explained he was quite prepared to to accept a large party though it would help in his preparation if he had be given notice.

Just popped in for a cup of coffee and cake. Coffee was good but limited choice of cakes. Seating area is spacious and comfortable. I would go again

What can I say, we visited today (with my parents and young daughter) and we had excellent food and above and beyond level of service! The manager Chris and his head chef Dave reopened the kitchen to make us food even though the cafe had stopped serving food as it was near closing time. They were so friendly (including Becky and Lauren who served us), they couldn’t have done more to help. It was a breath of fresh air and we will definitely be visiting again. Thank you to the restaurant team at Notcutts!

My friend and I took our 1 year olds for lunch here last week and I could not fault the service. The staff were a step ahead, carrying our trays, getting highchairs - even the manager appeared with children’s books and asked if there was anything more they could do to help.

Visited with a friend for a browse around and potentially buy some wall art. On this occasion, the place looked untidy and overstocked. It was almost as if the staff couldn't find anywhere to place things and thought 'oh just shove it over there'.

Visited Notcutts Solihull over Easter break @ 9.30am. Restaurant very cold everyone sitting with coats on. The breakfast was poor quality & cold. The tables were left uncleared. We had a regular breakfast meeting with friends every month in this Restaurant for the last 2 years and had seen it deteriorate slowly over the past months. Catering staff were leaving and the food quality became poor. We have now found an alternative venue for breakfast.
