Don’t have the fish and chips , the worst I have ever had !! It was cold and looked like something dragged out of the bin !! I also had chicken wings they were cold and over cooked !!!!!!!

Decent hotel breakfast when staying at Premier Inn

Waited 8 mins for a table, not enough staff serving or welcoming guests. Only one waitress serving so we ordered our drinks and meals at the same time. Certainly not up to the usual Premier Inn restaurant standards!

Had a fantastic meal at the Nelson and the service by Aaron was great.

Nice place and Amy was great. The portion size is really big. Very cute place and nice location. There’s a smell of fried food lingering in the air and this ought to go. Interiors can be made more aesthetic and could attract a lot of people.

This pub is part of the tabletable chain. Quite often, the window tables are reserved, and on busy occasions, it may be difficult to find a table. There is a QR code in the corner of the table with a number, although the number is mostly washed off as it's just penned on. We thought the code was a way to order at the table, but I got an error code 404 and my friend eventually got to see the menu, but there is no way to order at the table like at spoons. So, to the bar to order. She asked what I wanted and Sandra didn't understand my "I'd like to order some food please"??? Request. (I don't think her first language was English tbh.). Eventually, I got there. I had to point to my table as it had no number - good job it was in view of the bar. Although I didn't feel hungry I really enjoyed my pie chips and peas. They also serve 0.0 Guinness which is a bonus when you are driving. The low score is for the bad table marking, the QR code not working , and the staff not understanding English in England. Nothing against immigrants but keep them away from paying customers if they do t to English well.

Had an early evening meal with my husband and son, Stephanie saved us and she was lovely really attentive and helped us order so we could take advantage of the deals on the menu. Food was piping hot when it came and really tasty couldn't fault any of it.

Me and my partner came here for valentines and are staying at the premier inn next door. As a last resort we came here and was absolutely lovely, the food was hot and delicious, good sized portions. We ordered off the set menu and the pricing wasn’t bad at all. Would definitely return and will be recommending

The service i recieve while there is first class. With being in a wheelchair some things are difficult. Sam (one of the staff) can never do enough. She tries to make my life as easy as possible which makes my experience a lot better. My thanks to Sam for all the help she gives me as well as being friendly, polite and helpful.

There is a reason it is usually quiet. Some of the staff are awesome but are let down by the rude staff who switch off lights as people are still leaving the venue. Service is slow and the food quality is very hit and miss.

Came here at 12 and had the Value Meal Sausage and Mash, Extremely tidy and very well kept restaurant. The waitress was very good and attentive. The food was superb, although i did not get any fried onions which is on the description for the meal which is a bit strange. At just a fiver you really can't beat it. Will be returning in the future.

Ordered the festive menu. Tomato soup starter and turkey and trimmings for a main course. The service was extremely slow and the food was awful. This was a Tuesday evening early November, i wouldn't recommend this if you're planning a Christmas get together over the festive period.

We were looked after by Groover today, and he made such a difference to our experience. I was on my own with my 6 year old daughter, and he spent so much time with her - printing off special pictures for her to colour, really making her have a great experience. We were well looked after and would definitely return. Thanks Groover!

Had dinner during our stay at the Premier Inn. Nice food but what made the experience special was the excellent and friendly service provided by Groover.

Food and service was good, think the guys name was lee, the only negative was that none off the toilets were clean in the cubicles in the mens toilets and one of the locks were broken on a cubicle that needed to be fixed

So me and my friend was staying at the premier inn next door, we booked a table for 7.30pm and when we got there we was shown to our table, it was a wobbly table and sticky, so I asked if we could be moved please, and the rude response was I can try, so we waited and 20 minutes late nothing so we was quicker finding our own table still no one had even took our drink order, to be then told its not table service where we was sat so we found our own table in the table service area still no one came so we ended up going to bar to order 1 hour later we get our starter only a prawn cocktail then the mains come out at 9.10pm rock solid so we was offered a replacement then staff said your not getting one as we switched ovens off but we can get you a dessert of course we was livid, I said my friend is diabetic she needs to eat so the member of staff gave us 32 pounds and we ended up with a mcdonalds at 11.30 at night I get there was busy but there was no need for the rudeness and ignored all night. But on a positive note sam at breakfast couldnt do enough for us everything was ready for us and my friends allergies carefully considered shes a credit to the place.

The staff were rude the tables weren't even cleaned ,ants crawled across the table and the food you couldn't eat was well over cooked . They turned the ovens off and didn't even bother recooking the meal

What has happened to this place. It has been a couple of years since I last was here and it has gone right down the pan . Glasses had to be changed 3 times, the food was cold and the whole place was just gloomy. We won’t be coming back which is a shame because I used to love it here .

Seems OK. And good how they allow away fans in there teams colours. Although when I rang up beforehand I was told away fans weren't allowed to wear there teams colours.🤔

Food was good enough and fairly priced. The real star of the show is Groover though. Such a friendly, cheerful, and helpful guy, I wish all waiters were like him, what a brilliant place the world would be!

Food is average, service is poor

A warm welcome by Samantha as usual, we eat here at least twice a month, who ensured we had registered our car details and showed us to a table. Took our drinks order whilst we studied the menu to decide our choices. When Samantha is on shift she is a credit to the company, welcoming, knowledgeable about the menu and attentive to all diners, as the restaurant filled up she just took it in her stride providing an excellent service to all customers. Both the steak and scampi meals we had were excellent, highly recommended!

The place was busy but the manager found us a table. It was late and we had travelled. I appreciated the service after a long day.

Good breakfast, shame the coffee machine was broken and thre was only instant. However the atmosphere was good looking over the river. Room was absolutely fine, exactly as expected.

OK place lovely food and good service

I popped in today for breakfast at the last minute and I was welcomed by the manager and was reminded that I had only 15 minutes before they cleared away. The food was great as you would expect, the manager was serving, clearing and looking after customers in a very professional manner.

Do not waste your money. Awful management and awful staff members! If you like microwaved food that's cold when you get it, then it's up your street! Should have kept the previous manager there, what a shame!! Diabolical!

Place is dated, being replaced next year. Food is typical pub type fayre, but is okay, and portions are generous. There are lots of deals, coupons etc, which makes the value pretty good. Staff friendly.

We just popped in for a quick drink before Take That concert. Drinks took along time as he went to look for more slimline tonic but they had ran out Toilets had no toilet paper luckily I always carry tissues 😂 I did see a staff member go to fill them up 👍 these things happen especially when there's 30,000 people going to the Take That concert. Anyway it's a great place with friendly staff

Really dissapointed. Booked a Christmas get together here as last year was really good. Upon arrival I was told no Christmas menu available. We were sat right next to the door out of the way of everyone else. One in our party was vegetarian/ nothing on menu to suit. Staff were unattentive and uninterested so we left. Place needs a good manager. 2nd visit... decided to give it a 2nd chance....mistake!! Rude woman on front desk snapped at us as we hadn't booked. We only wanted a coffee.. her attitude stank so we walked out again. Horrible place. Definitely will not be back again

We had lunch here during the week. Sat by the window overlooking the river. Wasn’t too busy. Nice lunchtime menu and helpful staff. Will come again.

Poor quality food really, salad didn't feel fresh, chips pretty dry, steak was decent but inconsistent between days, asked for medium rare and it was raw/blue door to thickness, chef would need to take that into consideration, another day it was just right. No Orange juice is odd, was told there is a global shortage, however, visit to supermarket didn't portray that. Even the J20 alternative ordered, was then told they do not have that either, quite disappointed

The restaurant and the bar had a nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. The food was also nice and came in good time

Dirty, no clear surfaces and yet very few customers. Staff on mobile phones ignoring clearing and cleaning. Menus were dirty, surfaces dirty, no milk jug for my tea so uht milk was in an espresso cup, although the young duty manager didn't know if it was uht, just that it was semi skimmed! No white sugar and latte was separating, sitting in 4 layers of colour. Both cups were dirty. Not drinkable and got refunded. Duty manager said it was because they had been busy (although we were there 20 minutes and they were not) and that they work long hours

We regularly go to Nelson Hotel for breakfast on Sundays. Robbie is absolutely fantastic and provide excellent service. O Sunday 28 January 14 of us, as a family, went for breakfast, it was my daughter and my granddaughter birthday. Robbie very kindly gave each of them a box of chocolate as a present. He is very kind, works very hard and always has smile on his face and looks after all guests extremely well. He also cares about staff and always look after them. In addition to Robbie, Emma is also a fantastic person and always looks after us and is very kind and hard working. High thank you to both Robbie and Emma, you are both great. Food and breakfast is always fantastic and the service is top class. Thank you

Got there at 6 pm we left at 8,30pm it toke a hour for food then they dropped it so we had to want anothet 30 mins, I had a nice pie with 7 chips, fish pie was a cheese pie with peas and peas, no salad, never going back so hungry got home had a sandwich, no photo because I was so hungry,

This is how my meal was served (can’t post photos here - what a co-incidence) - which is a shame as it let the waiting staff down who were brilliant - warm coleslaw & soggy chips dumped on a plate - really ? Come on guys, take some pride in your work - venue clean, friendly & good value. Chef needs to hold his end up for the rest of the team. Pull it together buddy & UP YOUR GAME 🙏🏻💪🏻

Needs refurb, average food and small portions, the entrance to the restaurant for those not staying at the hotel is not well thought out. It is a "football" pub and quite shabby. We won't visit again, compared to The Showground restaurant, this one is awful.

Rather disappointed with the under staffed slow service and only average food. We were directed to a table under the air-conditioning, which was too cool for comfort, and it was only 3c outside. There seemed to be plenty of spaces available to sit but was told they were booked. So we moved ourselves to another table and told the waiter. No one else came to our knowledge. The view over the river is nice.

Value for money, staff pleasant.

I had a pleasant, tasty beef and ale pie. Portion size was a bit on the small size for me and the mash potato was somehow a bit chewy. Still enjoyable though. A nice, relaxed atmosphere. Would visit again.

Total shambles at breakfast. Waited well over half hour for a poorly cooked breakfast. Ordered 2 bacon got half a slice, eggs were soggy and as we had waited so long expected for it to at least be freshly cooked so would be hot. Wasn't impressed . Wouldn't bother going again the Beefeater near the airport is far better for the same price.

Sam our waitress is always helpful & the service is second to none, quickly comes round to make sure we are happy

Came for Christmas Day dinner 2023 Atmosphere was dismal, no music, staff were miserable (I often work Christmas Day holidays in my line of work), table decoration very bland, in fact non existent apart from crackers. Service to get a drink was appalling and very slow at getting each course out. Brussel sprouts were hard as rocks, couldn’t even cut them. Couldn’t wait to leave and unfortunately not recommend.

cozy cafe pub and restaurant combination alongside the Premier Inn. staff have been friendly and polite during my stay. food is nice and filling and the prices are fair. nice view of the riverside too!

Our usual family Christmas meal, 29 of us this year, 23 adults, 6 kids. Nobody could remember how long we've been coming but it was before it was a Premier Inn. Once again they took excellent care of us, seated over 4 tables in our own area. We have a fantastic time, we make lots of mess (sorry about that Robert). We'll all be back next year as well as many times in between. Unbelievable value! We all love it.

What can i say. Booked breakfast for two mornings when we booked in. When to have breakfast this morning. So called manager. Said our table was not booked told us to come back at 10.15 am. We said we booked it but he told us he wasn't interested. And he would the police. Even though we didn't shout swear or be rude. The so called junior manger needs retraining. The staff in premier inn refunded our money. They now have unhappy customers. They are part of whitbread.

I'm afraid no stars. We waited hour and a half for food and when it arrived 5 of the meals were cold. The drinks we ordered came at different times instead if all together and one order didn't even arrive and had to be reordered. It was disappointing, won't go back again. Young girl incharge was apologetic but we did not stay for a repeat and left hungry Won't let me post review without a star rating so putting one star but not deserved

We had drinks by the fire, after a long day shopping. Beautiful outdoor heated area. Lovely atmosphere, busy but relaxed.

We were served by Aaron and he was lovely and his service was amazing. The food was fresh and the cocktails were good

Came here for lunch today with a group of colleagues and had a lovely meal. Considering our group was over 20 people the food was all presented lovely and piping hot. Lovely location overlooking the river too. Will certainly return soon

Ordered breakfast but then asked if booked table restaurant manager playing with her hair not the best impression then later in day we ordered Sunday roast for 5pm got to restaurant to be told no Sunday roast left definitely won’t stay or eat here again

Nice food, nice beer, just a bit quiet

The staff don't pay attention to people that are politely queuing and have been for the last 15 minutes, they just allow people to push in. When you've had a long, hard day this isn't what you need especially when your waiting for food. When 2 of them were confronted neither of them could be bothered to apologise. Basic customer service skills need teaching. Those 2 people let the whole team down

Lovely staff, no complaints. The rest was a disaster. Food is basically fried overpriced garbage. Got the impression that the only thing keeping this place together was the nice front of house staff.

The bar and restaurant manager, Becky, is a busy bee, flitting here and there to ensure her staff are attentive and that the food and drinks are served promptly. She is extremely personable and casts an eye over the operation to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Meal was lovely and server "Groover" was very attentive and friendly.

A very understaffed restaurant, so be prepared for a long wait. Sticky tables and average food. I’m giving 2 stars because Aaron at the bar was excellent - helping the kitchen out when I had waited 50 mins for a brownie and generally a saving grace as the face of the place.

Food was your standard pub grub, friendly waitresses, quick service. Will go again.
