Norton China in Stoke-on-Trent

Ordered food here to be delivered at home. My order was completely messed up, only thing right was the chow mein. Everything else was not what I ordered, despite me leaving specific notes.

Used here for a few years but recently it's gone really down hill. Food is not fresh, stays in the shape of container when you empty it out, meat tastes mushy and its bland. Chow mein has been dry on top and hard to scoop out. All obviously microwaved and its been on more than one occasion now. Will be going elsewhere from now on.

Literally stopped picking up the phone for the last 4 days now .and their website isn’t working either . Been ordering for years , do better

Have not been for a while but it has gone from the best Chinese takeaway in Stoke on Trent to the worst, ribs must have come from a dinosaur special rice was awful, may have changed management

I’ve been wanting to try here for SO long after coming here when it was a dine in restaurant years ago, so we decided to switch up from our usual takeaway and order from here tonight and it did not disappoint! I won’t lie, I was a little bit sceptical at first after seeing a few bad reviews but I decided to ignore them and I’m glad I did. Friendly staff, speedy service, decent sized portions, proper fresh food and incredible value for money. We had 2 main dishes, 2 side dishes and 1 extra sauce for only £20 which we thought was really affordable considering Chinese takeaways are usually on the more pricey side. I also usually have an issue with Chinese takeaways as the food always tends to make me feel sick because everything is so oily and salty but the food from here, although now only a takeaway, is still restaurant quality. I can honestly say that this is the best Chinese takeaway in Stoke-on-Trent!

Consistently good food and delivery service.

Had this chinese for the first time tonight! the chips looked like they had been cooked 4 times very dark brown crispy and fatty with no potato.. the curry was very powdery and thick with minimal taste! the prawn crackers were soft and soggy … i give the chicken chow main a good 9 tho but just for that it will remain the first and last time i go here again….

Looks like they've turned the restaurant into a Turkish Barbers! Whatever next?

Used to be lovely and I always ordered from here but went couple months ago and it was awful - food has a funny taste and smells like it’s off and it is inedible! Gave it another shot as it’s closest but it was even worse this time round the whole lot has had to go in the bin- the food smelt horrendous as soon as I opened it - definitely using gone off food - Money down the drain - will not be going here again

Absolutely disgusting had salt and pepper ribs and salt and pepper chips the ribs and chips were soggy like it had been microwaved left a horrible taste in my mouth will not order again

I eat here alot but tonight it was awful. I came to collect to find a girl sat on back bar with feet up on bench with no shoes and dirty socks. Took food home the curry we tipped out of container and it still stayed in same shape on plate it was all congealed. The rice was luke warm. I was up all night with sweats stomach cramp and feeling sick. I won't be back. Such a shame

Well 12 months since i wrote a "nice food" review...what has happened to this place ??? ..waited an hour and 10 mins for dry and tepid salt n chilli chicken wings..dry duck..and chicken chow mein..luke warm and tasteless ...not good at all ....wont bother again sorry

Had a takeaway on Saturday 15th April which are normally excellent but this week it was terrible, the curry was cold rice only warm and chips were stone cold, I'm usually very happy with this Chinese but Saturday's meal was very disappointing I hope you take notice of this complaint or I will be looking else where in future.

Have a take a way every month never had a bad one deliver fast and friendly , always on time and hot

Absolutely love Norton China, always get a delicious meal. The staff are wonderful can't do enough to help. Delivery always swift and food is always hot. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a good Chinese.

avoid like this place no change since my last visit 4 yrs ago got worse and more expensive no chips serverd with so called steak instead of chips you get water chestnuts n bamboo shoots.. and strips of god knows what .. not steak as we know it.. total garbage...

Sorry Norton China to give this review but it's needed Having not used you for a few months as meals had not been good previously, I thought I would try again tonight But It was a total let down again. Two crispy spring rolls that were soggy Also they used to have chicken and veg inside them but are now beef and were nowhere near as nice One beef curry that was all gloopy One chips that were old and stale One EF rice that was like risotto Just under £16 and not one bit of it was nice I even rang you to tell you but you didn’t seem much bothered. I should have really demanded a refund as non of it was touched. I'm wondering if there’s new management again. I Will not be giving you another chance the food was awful. I wish Cindy and her crew were still there it really was the best then

Always a good take out meal from here and reasonable price , Mrs j tends to have sweet n sour chicken and depends how I feel, chicken and green peppers in black bean sauce...and some fried rice . Tasty food ...nice n hot....and always fresh white rice.....nice friendly lads on the phone and behind the counter too.....well done

Our regular saturday night takeaway now. Love the satay sauce, one of my favourites. Everything always red hot and ready on time. Definitely recommend

Worst Chinese I’ve ever had, it was as if the food had been pre cooked and then microwaved. The chicken foo yung had shrimps and other meats in it, what it had an allergy.

I've been coming to this takeaway/restaurant since it opened as I live reasonably locally and it has always been great. Even when they closed the restaurant the quality remained. Recently it changed hands and the restaurant has reopened. It has however IMHO gone downhill. My order a few weeks ago was short. I ordered half crispy duck but only received a quarter. The other day I ordered chips with my food but they were missing when I got home. Also the last time I was waiting for my order the staff and ome delivery driver were swearing at each other... not good. I won't be going back.

Wait time both times now has been over 2 hours!! It’s simply not good enough. This used to be my local Chinese but it won’t be anymore and I will be recommending everyone not to go!

Fast delivery and good food for the price

I truly don't want to be nasty in this review. The room was pleasant, well laid out and the food was good. The service was diabolical! Training was so obviously needed. They must try harder and pay more attention to the customer. Did an empty room apart from ourselves, tell the full story? Soup served, no spoon. Cheap, thin paper tissues and small plates, on which to put a main meal. I honestly think that we would have been far better off having a take-a-way for my family and eating at home. It was not nice to have to deal with this when out for a nice family meal.

Absolutely brilliant food. Good portion sizes. Not the buffet like it used to be but well worth the visit. Well done guys, its really good to be able to experience quality like this..

What a disappointment. Ordered a meal for delivery and was told half an hour. Forty Fife minutes later rang to ask where my meal was and was told another ten minutes. Twenty minutes uses later rang to ask again was was told the driver was two mi uses away. The food was terrible it was obviously an hour old , dried up and congealed

We had a lovely meal in a restaurant that has had many improvements from the new management. The food was lovely and we will definitely be returning in the near future.

Under new management and they have refurbished and opened the restaurant and takeaway. No longer all you can eat buffet but banquets available in a range of prices but also the normal menu. Social distancing and covid rules maintained, staff friendly and efficient. Food piping hot, tasted great and plenty of it. Drinks reasonably priced. We had the special hot starter for two, two main, rice and salt and peppers chips. Definitely will book again and highly recommend it.

Very very rude people they couldn’t even be arsed speak to me because it closed in 10 mins and he was I was horrified of how rude they where I will not be ordering from them agian

Food here is very tasty and the portion sizes are well worth the money, not to mention the friendly staff and their amazing service! This restaurant has had its ups and downs in the past but with these new owners, it’s well worth a try!

Everyday I go and back, passing this place. To feel like to treat ourselves and stopped there with a big smile welcome and they helped us choosing meals. Price reasonably OK. Foods was brilliant. But 2 things to be mentioned.... 1 they don't do halal meat...no fish except king prawns... 2. I haven't seen the hygiene ratings on display....but Foods was very nice...we will be back...

Shocking service Food wasn't hot at all, like it had been sitting for an hour Chips were like eating cardboard. No flavour in the rice very bland Ended up leaving my food very disappointed!!!

Had food from here tonight and we couldn’t eat it. Absolutely everything we had, had a funny off taste to it, like it was off. The spring rolls were rotten! I’ve never tasted anything so disgusting, they were definitely bad, even thinking about it makes me feel sick. The rice was claggy and stuck together, like overdone boil in the bag that had been sitting there for hours, chicken fried rice, it was not! Even the chow mein had a funny taste to it, we couldn’t make up our minds if the egg noodles were turning or they’d been fried in a dirty wok. Absolute waste of money, we literally couldn’t eat it. If we could give this 0 stars we would. We will never return!

Use here all the time. Never had a bad meal always hot, fresh and delicious! The beef in black bean is tender rich and spicey, crispy duck is lovely! Chow mein is tastey.

There was items missing from our order, the special chow main had hardly any meat in them, the chicken balls were greasy but tough to eat. We have had from this Chinese in the past, but we will never visit again, very poor. It would be 0 stars if there was an option.

This is the second time I've received the wrong items . All the food was cold by time the correct main dish came and they had the nerve to ask for incorrect dish back !! So they could reheat it for another order .... Never again would I order from here disgusting service

Had this Chinese for the first time , well keep getting there menu's through the door ..I spent over £13 & I was very disappointed with the food to start it was cold when it came ..don't bother should of stuck to lotus blossom the only decent Chinese round here !!!!!!

I Quite often phone and collect my food, but, of late i request it to be Delivered due to only £1,00 charge, My food choice is Yuk Sung { pork }, Salt and Pepper Spare Ribs, Spicy King Prawn They even do Gluten Free Meals,

Chicken sweetcorn soup with prawn crackers, Yuk Sung [ chicken or pork ] served with lettuce leaves is a meal in its self, You will not be disappointed delivery service available

called for a takeaway as it is no loner a resteraunt. on the the menu it states fillet steak.. i ordered one with black pepper sauce.. son ordered chicken ommlettewife ordered chicken fried rice an curry sauce..the delivery came..my lad was sent 1/4 chicken n mushrooms.they sent me fried beef in blck pepper sauce. an my wife got chicken not cooked in boiled rice.rang them up they said we dont do fillet steak . so went around dumped the food on the counter showed everybody in the shop what they had sent showed them the menu which stated fillet steak..they offered discount .. for next time .which the will never be.. an i made them give me a full refund

Great food here. We love set meal B. Very tasty and more than enough to fill you up. I would say that it's one of the best take away places in Stoke-on-Trent.

After travelling half an hour to try the food here, it was closed. I can appreciate that some Chinese’s are closed on a Tuesday, but I checked 4 websites that all said that it was open to arrive and it was closed. We were not best pleased.

Great takeaway, the foods always hot and tasty. It's worth noting that the takeaway has been cash only for the past few years (there is a cash machine at the Co-op 100m away) and also that the restaurant part of the Chinese has shut down.

I have worked away a lot so have eaten Chinese food up and down the country, and in various country’s around the world, none are as nice or food as consistently tasty as Norton China. it is now take away only, granted the restaurant are was a little cheap and cheerful but, what do you want from a building that was formerly a petrol station, however that said they made the best of it, the food always good and plentiful, the staff always polite and helpful

Had an all you can eat meal here and also a take out meal. Both times the food was perfect and good value for money. 10/10 would recommend.

Última noche pedimos más palitos de brochetas de pollo y aros de cebolla, nos dieron dos aros de cebolla y dos brochetas. No estoy seguro si esto es algo que hacer con costo pero solo comer dos temas principales, así que no se puede tener más de lo que pagas.Este lugar está bien si sólo quieres barato, comida caliente un lugar que está limpio y normalmente es fácil conseguir una mesa.Recuerda - "efectivo" (hacer de ONLI que de lo que se. . . )

Ordered a takeaway satay chicken skewers for me and my daughter got home only to bite into them and the chicken was raw took them back and they said it was the chicken type they had used which was pink funny it was raw like rubber asked for it back to take to environmental health then but would not give us back after a debate for a refund last time we go there

Esta fue sin duda la peor comida china que he probado en mi vida. Mi novia (porque ella no le gusta demasiado parece grosero) a mitad de camino a través de la comida, incluso fingir demasiado me estaba enferma, así que podíamos dejar sin terminar la comida. Pelo negro de gran grosor en el curry, pollo olía raro y era horrible. Odié cada minuto de esta visita y no volveremos seguro.

Me encanta este lugar! Este es el único chino, voy a comer en el siempre sorprendente alimentos o para llevar. Cada quincena tengo un chino, y este lugar nunca me dejes's. Sin duda merece la pena ir y comer en el buffet, lo que pides lo que quieras que cocinar y llevar tanto como usted desea. No como otros. Servicio genial también!

The food itself is amazing, don't get me wrong it doesn't look much from the outside but it really is lovely! the staff are very helpful and the food! if i could only eat here all the time! Thank you to the team there great night out celebrating a family member's birthday! :)

I would not use any other Chinese in the local area. The food has always been fantastic and the take away service has always been super fast and efficient. The food is very reasonably priced and the quality is great. As we live locally, I have never eaten in the restaurant, but it always appears busy which normally speaks for itself.

I have been having take away from Norton China since it opened. Whether its a set meal for one or five the quality and cooking time are the same. With this place when they say ready in 10 minutes they mean it. If you like Chinese food then Norton China is well worth a try.

Visited once as a sit down diner. The look of had when I ordered more starters was enough to put me off returning!!!However the take away is great, the food is lovely and plentiful.

Best Chinese around. We always have two set menus for one with an extra portion of chips and it easily feeds 5 of us.

I hate buffet restaurants as the food is often not at its best but you can eat all you like. This place lists you eat all you like but cook it fresh, i presume this is because they are not busy enough to maintain a buffet but realise people are cheap and want eat as much as you want facility. You can order 1 of every starter, followed by Crispy Duck pancakes and then 1 of every main course. I do not believe the staff to be rude they are just not gushing and this is indicative of their native land. Broaden your minds embrace their culture and food and enjoy an amazingly low price for what you receive. Loved it.

First time here tonight and the food is excellent. Best chinese food I have had in Stoke-on-Trent so far. The spring rolls are fantastic. 13.99 all you can eat but it's not a buffet, you get your meals cooked fresh and bought to you. I will be coming back regularly.

Visited here a few times for some good chinese food. Worth the price if you have a lot of food off the menu. Its even better as the food is ordered and cooked fresh and not standing there as a usual buffet all you can eat. A little dated and not anything dress up for but the food is some good chinese food and is worth a visit.

First visit and it sure wont be my last the service was very good the waitress does need smile tho the food was spot on and a very good choice your not over faced with the size of the portions they were just perfect the place its self is lovely and clean and bright cant wait to return
