First visit and on a Sunday. Not packed but a fair number of punters. Three piece band playing pretty much trad. Nice sort of feel to the whole place which apparently has three or four sister places in central London. Pleasant enough experience would probably come back.

We stumbled upon this cocktail bar as our usual pre-dinner drinks pub was so busy. So pleased we did. We went back after dinner as well. One particular doorman and one barman super friendly. Live music great and resulted in one of those unexpected extra couple of drinks to turn a good evening into a fantastic one. 4 stars is only because first choice red wine not available and beer selection limited.

Friends catch up in Clapham & needed some live music James Willard played a set of covers with guitar & beatbox, top selection of songs ranging from 50's to present day material. He was unfazed by the general Monday night emptiness of the venue, creating loops from classic tracks such as Verve, Black Keys, Johnny Cash. Vibe was relaxed, decor American dive bar, pizza looked good, gig 10/10 thanks James.. Cheers Steve

Sunday night jazz but refused us entry because we had a small dog with us. The place was half empty. Not sure what they expected the dog to do.

A fun late nice place to visit for a dance or some drinks. The music is very good and the atmosphere is great - the only drawback is how long the bouncers make you wait to enter!

We arrived and had to queue for about 20 minutes which was fine given it was busy and a Saturday night. When we were let in, it took about 10 minutes to get served at the bar, which again, was fine given how busy it was. The music was odd - very few dance tunes. However, what was completely unacceptable was how we were treated by a bouncer. My friends and I had left to get some fresh air. When we wanted to go back in, the bouncer accused my friend of looking too drunk (she had only drunk 2 gin & tonics…). He then continued to suggest she drink some water. Obviously, we thought this was an absolute joke but then he accused us of having ATTITUDE. He then said we weren’t allowed back in and couldn’t even give us a reason why or look us in the face. The whole experience was quite simply, disgusting and disgraceful. I even asked for the manager and he never came. It is safe to say that I will not be returning to this establishment and will be enquiring about a refund, given I paid 10£ To be treated in this way.

Great venue, lovely drinks. Brilliant atmosphere. Not tried the food yet but it looks great. Service has been brilliant

It’s a cool vibe, large outdoor area, good music Pizza is tasty and good value for money and good selection of cocktails. Pint of Peroni was flat. Bottle of asahi was luke warm. Staff are miserable and inattentive.

We were served by the lovely Lucy who brought out drinks promptly. We loved the place and the service and would defo come here again. Can't wait for my Strawberry Daiquiri.

Well. No other way to put this but absolutely Grim service. Waited well over an hour for a round of beers. No explanation or apology. Asked politely about our drinks when the next server told us it was last round (45 mins after first order). I could go on but I won’t. If you like flat beer and lacklustre service, this is your place.

Had been here once before pre-covid and once during covid so was good to get back to what it's designed for. The door is slow and so are the drinks - get two at the same time!

A really cool venue and a nice place to meet friends. However, the live music is way too loud. Especially on week days when you're not dancing but sitting and listening, it is just too loud to enjoy and you cannot speak to anyone because you have to shout really loudly. Turn the music down a bit and the venue is perfect!

I have contacted Northcote Records on Five separate occasions, through their website and on the phone, about property lost at the venue. Each time I've spoken to someone I've been promised it will be followed up, but I've yet to receive a single email or call. I'm not expecting to get it back, but would expect them to at least reply and confirm.

We had a nice evening catching up with a couple of colleagues/friends, paid our bill which was over £200 and then a bouncer was incredibly aggressive and rude to one of the group for no reason at all. We had not seen the bouncer earlier in the night so he must have just come on shift. He seemed either intoxicated or high on substance as his behaviour was overly aggressive and irate. I’m not sure if it had any revalance but the female in our group who he was rude to was gay. We had just paid and we’re about to leave so were shocked at the appalling way she was spoken to, personally I wouldn’t talk to a dog like that, let alone a customer who’s just spent over £200. My colleague/friend was left tearful and upset at the verbal attack and a neighbouring table of occupants shocked at what they witnessed. The manager seemed inexperienced in dealing with such a situation and didn’t handle my colleague/friends partners complaint well at all. Would have been nice to get an apology at the very least??The bouncer, clearly realising how awful he behaved, sheepishly disappeared when asked for his name and badge number.Awful and embarrassing experience, shall be sure to recommend this venue is avoided.

I was asked to pay £120 to book a table which I understood to be a deposit. The money was never returned and was not deducted from the bill. Despite several attempts to contact the bar there has been no reply for 9 days!

Favourite place in Clapham junction, the staff are delightful and the service is always great! Recommend

Went to Northcote Records following 3 months of now pints. The first pint was great and the bar was adequately socially distanced. I'll be back!.

This is a great spot to party, enjoy some drinks and take in some live music. It's a pretty casual atmosphere and generally great fun. Pizza's are available pretty standard quality as expected but good to have the option. There is no draft beer whist was a little disappointing. Aside from that its a great venue for a razz in town.

I was embarrassed to have been removed from the club by several members of staff on Saturday 14th March. A number of ladies made allegations that I felt supposedly felt a couple of men’s bottoms and I was flirting with their so called boyfriends.In my opinion, these are allegations only and jealousy and insecurity. My belief is this is totally going against my rights. No names were taken and there was nothing in CCTV to prove this wrong doing or the fact that the men in question did not agree. Furthermore, I was allowed back into the club after speaking in some length with the manager then not allowed back in again after doing nothing wrong. My coat was left inside along with the belt to my coat and I was not allowed to retrieve it . The manager would not left me in. I was left crying outside and distressed without the belt to my coat. I felt victimised and bullied. It is not acceptable to attack a woman in this manner. There is no formal apology and the bouncers and door staff were incredibly rude and overrated (power trip) Avoid this place at all costs if you have any morals. I hope they suffer during the Corona virus and have to close down. I will never set foot there again!!

Great venue, went to Wednesday open mike night which had a lot of great acts on, particularly Allie Mai who was sensational.. pizzas and beer delicious.

This place has got to be one of the best midweek venues in London. We went on a Tuesday night and did the pizza special. Pizza was great, cocktails were great and the service was great. Definitely be back

So I’m having to write this review on the back of an awful experience and, for any women reading this, please don’t go here. Tonight, whilst celebrating my birthday, a guy came over and poured a beer over me and my friend. Rather than apologise when we obviously reacted, he proceeded to call me and my friend ‘f*cking c*nts’ and swore at us. He did this multiple times. When we sought help from the bouncer, we were told that they knew the guy and he ‘spent a lot of money there’ so nothing was done. When we went outside to speak to another bouncer we were told that ‘we were overreacting’ despite being soaked in beer! And to make matters worse when I then said I was going to write this review a female bouncer (women should support women in my view!) came over and said ‘write it then’. So here it is - I am fuming and feel like white male privilege has prevailed yet again. If you know the right people at a bar you get away with treating women with utter disrespect and if you have money then even better. I will never be coming back here and would urge any woman with any slice of self respect not to either.Thanks,A woman who won’t stand for being assaulted and then ignored by a bar.

My first time out in this bar and most certainly my last! I have never experienced such rude door men, watching as they slagged off girls in the queue for their appearance. One in particular, a tall white bearded man who was incredibly aggressive and left a bad taste in my mouth. He spoke to people in the most horrific way I have ever witnessed and called a girl in the queue a "fat c***" loud enough for us all to hear. I couldn't believe what I was hearing as it upset me being a larger lady myself. The way that he behaved was unprofessional, inappropriate and truly distasteful. It left me feeling upset enough to write this review. (I want to point out that I have never written a review in my life but had to share this.)When we were finally allowed into the bar the staff were friendly enough and the venue was nice, however the doormen had left a bad impression so we left soon after entering.When leaving it seemed as if the doormen were more interested in chatting up drunken females than anything else going on which again reeked of unprofessionalism.Please review your door men in future as they are the face of your company and the ones you currently have are an awful representation of your bar.

I have always loved this place, if you are looking for fantastic served cocktails that tastes great then you are at the right place. Happy Hour here are very cost effective and offers real cocktails, these guys certainly knows how to serve tasty cocktails.

La acompañamos para el cumpleaños de una amiga (de 8 a 30 años) cuya esposa reservó y pagó una mesa después de escuchar sobre la música en vivo y las cosas buenas sobre los discos de Venn Street. Wij zijn hier op vrijdagavond geweest voor drankjes en pizza. Toevallig speelden er 2 super goede bands waardoor de avond vroeg op gang kwam. De goede cocktail deal hielp ook mee. Pizza was erg lekker, goede korst niet te kazig. Het is niet intiem en erg luidruchtig, maar perfect voor een stapavond. Goede sfeer!

Simplemente fui a este bar para tomar algunas bebidas y después de que el barman me sirvió unas bebidas, me las llevé a mi mesa y me relajé con mis amigos en un gorro gris y luego me pedí una identificación. Bought drinks and ‘naturally’ paid on my card ... accidentally left my card at the bar, but immediately realised I forgot my card behind the bar (bear in mind, the bar staff did not deem it necessary to inform me or alert me that I’d left my card accidentally as I walked away)

A pesar de pedir bebidas, nos dijeron que nos fuéramos y lleváramos a nuestro perro pequeño. Apenas estaba ocupado; era 2. 30 pm y éramos las únicas personas allí. Asi que. . . . muchos otros pubs cercanos adoran perros, los más cercanos son The Bank, The Goat y The Four Thieves, Revolution (hasta las 6 pm), The Junction, The Falcon. . . . también puede haber otros, son solo los que conozco. Lamentablemente, este lugar parece haber ido cuesta abajo. Siempre fue un buen lugar para tomar una copa, pero al visitar anoche encontramos que las bebidas eran excesivamente caras (64 + para una ronda de 6 bebidas) y la actitud del personal era horrible.

I visited on recommendation but didn't expect to be quite the oldest in the place by a decade of two! However music of the DJ and then the live band was brilliant, bar service first rate despite being very busy. Then three charming and beautiful young ladies took me their wings and we partied. Best night out in ages. Thoroughly recommend for those under 35 and for braver older souls willing to look out of place. Didn't see any evidence of food though but for atmosphere and music can't fault.

La decoración y el ambiente en el bar es precioso, y si vas a visitar durante el día espero que realmente disfrutar. Fuimos un domingo por la noche, cuando había una banda en y tardaron 20 minutos en llegar a la cola para entrar en el bar, y otros 10 que te sirvan (honestamente no es una exageración! ). Las bebidas eran bastante caros y no cerca de la banda a verlos, así que sólo teníamos una bebida y a la izquierda.

He visitado varias veces los registros de Northcote Tiene un gran ambiente y animado, con asiento exterior y calentadores. Situado cerca de Clapham Junction, es un gran lugar para tomar una copa por la noche. El menú de cócteles es genial, pero en general, las bebidas son caras, aunque no sin precedentes para Londres. Una crítica es que la música dentro es muy ruidoso así que tiende para sentarse fuera.

This is a fun place to catch up with friends. You can reserve a space which is good. There is some outdoor seating for the nice weather. Cocktails are good. Happy hour 5-8 makes it busy after work.

The staff are super friendly and attentive, informing us of their happy hour cocktails which I would of gladly chosen if I had not seen that they sell Neck Oil! Great time, will be coming back soon.

Best skill a bartender can have is to make each customer feel special. Matt does this and I will definitely come back cos of him!! Love this place

Genial para un viernes por la noche. Llegar allí antes de las 8 de la noche y sus cócteles dos por uno y las pizzas están bien. Música en vivo se enciende más tarde por la noche, que me gusta mucho, se puede conseguir un poco ocupado, así que si vas con un grupo que recomiendo reservar una zona.

We had a great time at a birthday party!We were most impressed of how good the music was (very eclectic at times).Also loved the cocktails happy hour! One of the bouncers was really polite, greeted us and explained about pick pocketing in the area.The only thing I would complain is that the beers were not cold enough and they were not on happy hour.. The pizza simple, but is ok.But overall we did have a fantastic evening!

This might just be me, to be honest, but the name Northcote Records suggested they might actually play some guitar music on a Saturday night (the rarest of things south of the river, it seems). But they do not. Probably a great place if you like chart music or Sigma or whatever, just the polar opposite of indie (as is Clapham, to be fair).

I'd booked an area for my friends and I for Saturday night and was not disappointed. I'd been to Venn St Records but not this one but loved it. Got there early so enjoyed 241 cocktails. They weren't serving food but said we could bring food in (grabbed some snacks from the local Co-Op). Staff really friendly, nice crowd, fun music and great band later on. Just a fun fun night, would recommend

My friends and I had been drinking elsewhere earlier in the night and decided to get food, spotting this place and heading in. However, it turned out to only be 5 minutes until they stopped serving food and there was 9 of us so we thought the likelihood of us being able to find a table and order was pretty slim! However the staff were just fantastic about it and completely rose to the challenge, taking all our food orders and promising to work it out. They then managed to swing a big table in the packed bar and had all our food ready in incredible time! It was very tasty and just what we needed and I am very grateful and really felt they went above and beyond. Thanks guys!

Cool night out to this little corner of Northcote Road in Clapham Junction for some live music and drinks on Joe's leaving due.. Food wasn't great but all else was spot on. Another great find south of the river. Bookmarked!

Popped in for a Thursday night drink on a recommendation from a friend. Had earlier been next door in the Northcote pub, which was packed. Northcote Records was almost empty and not exactly atmospheric. Perhaps it livened up later.

Great live music (Superespokes), fun atmosphere, prompt and friendly waiting staff and delicious pizza.

As a local you get to see Pubs, Restaurants, Shops and Business's in your area come and go. The space now occupied by the excellent Northcote Records has been a difficult one to make a success of in the past but it now seems to have found its rightful occupant. As a vinyl junkie working in the music business imagine my excitement when I saw a new shop opening with racks of vinyl albums on it's walls. I must admit to a small jolt of disappointment when I discovered this was just dressing and it was a bar restaurant in reality. However when I checked it out I was majorly surprised. Manager Louis has made Northcote Records a must attend at the lively end of Northcote Road in Clapham. Louis runs a friendly space and their Friday night live music sessions are becoming legendary. Check it out. Of course if they actually sold records it would be much better - I'd be there all the time - Bar, Restaurant and Record Store - Brilliant. Oh and Louis - it was my idea. For where this bar is there should be a general standard of service. Which is excellent. I do not expect attitude from the waitress and to be spoken to and treated like I'm at school when I'm paying 9£ a cocktail. She let down a lovely bar and friendly male staff on a quiet week day night. Nice cocktails poor service

Popped into this bar on a whim while walking past. Great value 2 4 1 cocktails. Friendly, quick staff. Would happily come back.

Popped in here for a few drinks on a night out, nice quirky little place with a very young crowd (so we didn't stay long as we're not young at all) but that didn't bother the friendly barmen. Would highly recommend the mojito which they mix with style.

Bad food . Obnoxious rude bar staff, shockingly awful cocktails by any standard. Music was worse than bad wedding band.

Northcote Records is always good fun. Packed in the weekend (not the place to go for a quiet night!) and cosy atmosphere during the week with live music.

We went this evening. The pizza was great and the live music was good but disappointed in the drinks and the service. We had cocktails, 241 until 8pm - great, we thought, except when we drank them they tasted of nothing but fruit juice. I bought one friend a surprise cocktail - she had no idea what it was supposed to be - all it tasted of was watered down orange juice (from all the ice that was in it). We then went to the bar for some shots and white wine. The shots were supposed to have vodka and cointreau in. I watched the bar girl pour a glass of lime juice, add a splash of vodka and then share it between 4 glasses. I questioned it and she told me that I had not seen her but she had added the cointreau, she had to go all the way down the bar to get the bottle to show me it - definitely not added as she had said. I then picked up the bottle of wine she had put down on the bar and it was warm - not just a little but really warm. She grabbed the money and went to serve the next person. I had to shout to get her back to ask for glasses at which point her colleague asked if there was something wrong. I told him and he assured me there was cointreau in the shots - showing me a completely different bottle to the one she had shown me or used, then he gave me a cold bottle of white wine - why couldn't she have just done that in the first place? I don't often write reviews but this place really annoyed me, so obviously ripping people off. It's expensive enough to go out in places like Clapham without the bars ripping you off further.

Went here for Friday night drinks with friends, great atmosphere,well priced cocktails, fantastic live music. Only down side was it got a bit busy from 11pm onwards but a nice crowd of people so not a problem! Definitely will be returning :)

Great music with live bands on Friday and Saturday, all staff are friendly but booking anything is a waste of time (entry is free), it's first come first serve (gets busy at 10 on weekends) get ready to spend though as it's not what you would call cheap! (cocktails £10 beer £6) this has become a regular venue for us so see you there!

Even thought the cocktails are expensive ( find me somewhere in Clapham they are not) and it gets stupidly busy and you have to fight to get to the toilet and the waitresses often get the order wrong..... I still love this bar. Everyone is welcome, the staff are friendly and all kisytakes are rectified. The music is brilliant and it is a great place for a few drinks with friends, especially if like me you are now too old for Infernos. My advice get in before the queues form

Was here for drinks one evening and had one of their bar staff try and grab a drink out of my mouth whilst I was drinking it, and then intimidate us and squirt water at us from the soft drink dispenser. No apology and when I confronted him about it he asked the doorman to kick us out. To be fair to the doorman, he said that he knew the barman concerned was (for use of a better term) not a pleasant bloke to deal with - but when reporting it to the director of the bar (the bar manager, however, was very good) we were basically fobbed off. To my knowledge the barman is still working there today.This is a bar that prides itself on customer experience. Do yourself a favour; trust me, it doesnt. Go to Rise 46 if you want a good night out rather than here.

Bouncers were professional and attentive , music: had a live band doing covers and they were really good. Staff are all fun and everyone, everyone has tattoos! fun place, will go back againfyi big girly cocktails range from 8.50-9.50 but you get an umbrella!

Afternoon,I ventured into Clapham Junction on Friday night for a few drinks with my girlfriend. The junction has its fair share of pretentious bars, many lacking identity, good management and strikingly devoid of any atmosphere. After hearing a few poor reviews from friends about Northcote Records, i decided go out and sample it for myself, trying to not fall into the trap of judgement without self experience.I have been to your sister bar, Venn Street a few times. I quite liked it, it had a certain charm and originality about it, the staff were pleasant, and the ambiance was quite relaxed, i wouldn't mind returning.This however, cannot be said about your establishment after visiting for the first time last night. Some of your staff might remember me, however I would not be surprised if they didn't, as they were so vaguely apathetic, narcissistic and ultimately vacuous, that i think remembering anything else but self interest or preservation would be beyond them.I ordered a bottle of Cusquena and a glass of Pinot Grigio. After my girlfriend took her second sip, she found it wasn't to her liking, not because it was corked, but she simply did not like it. I tried it, and to be completely honest, it was pretty nasty. After going to the bar and explaining to a girl with red hair about how she wasn't enjoying it, i was presented with one of the most incompetant, ignorant replies i've heard. To be Frank, it is probably my fault for expecting anything else from a staff member who, oblivious to my actual request, probably believed i was trying to score a couple of free drinks the moment I arrived. Just to be clear, the manager offered drinks on the house but i politely declined due to the pressure pub chains are under in the current climate, working in a pub myself. Her actual reply was 'If she doesn't like it, there is nothing I can do'. Which is utter nonsense because her equally ignorant co-worker refunded me the wine (after a couple of minutes of him explaining that it was a fresh bottle, thank you for that incredibly informative peice of information, but what relevance it had i don't know) the moment she disappeared to get the manager. I would have had more respect for her if she changed her response to something more honest like, 'There is something I can do, but to be truthfully honest, I don't want too.' At least then she didn't have to hide behind a pathetically weak attempt of her disdain to be helpful or attentive. The manager was polite enough and got me another glass of wine without hesitation, wondering why it was so difficult in the first place, me and my girlfriend finished our drinks and left. Alas, another utterly pretentious bar, ubiquitous in Clapham that will fade into anonymity much like the Underdog before it.Avoid. Like the plague. If you decide to venture into this Dank, vibe-less bat-cave, be aware of the Staff's devoid of any affability or character.

stumbled upon this bar after having dinner on Northcote road. Very good cocktails and there was a solo artist there singing and playing guitar which was brilliant.

northcote records is great for drinks if on a walk about,did not eat but it gets very very busy with a nice crowd,its clean and the staff are friendly,its got a great buzz about the place,good music not to loud,well worth a visit,will back.
