We had decided to try this restaurant after checking the menus, as my OH doesn’t eat any vegetables what so ever and and it can be hard to find somewhere that he has a choice other than fish & chips, chicken goujons or burger, he settle for the fish cake starter but had to yet again choose a burger as everything else had veg somewhere in it, both our starters were nice, I had the chicken spring roll, he did find the burger turned out dry by the time he got half way through it, but it was very tasty, I choose the chicken & beef in peppercorn sauce with a side of salad instead of the potatoes, although the food was, as I say nice it was the service that let this place down, there was three members of staff on the evening we were there and although pleasant, none of them went out of their way to see if we were happy with everything, the bill was asked for and left on the table, we put the debit card on the saucer but nobody made any move to come and take our payment, two members of staff walked past a few times, so we headed to the bar area to pay, maybe this is what you are suppose to do but if they had said when they brought the bill we would have known what to do, we were not asked if we enjoyed our meal or if everything was ok, so sorry guys but we will not be back.

McKee's Country store & restaurant

27/04/2019: Met friends for afternoon coffee at McKees, all tried new Apple and cinnamon scones, quite delicious and very substantial, usual great coffee and friendly service. Another winning combination.
27/06/2019: Yum yum. Lovely wee cafe, delicious desserts. I enjoyed a mini dessert, which certainly wasn't mini. Lovely staff. Even a shop to purchase, meat, veg, cakes etc. Worth a trip.

Harrisons of Greyabbey

24/04/2019: Met with some friends for breakfast. I ordered healthy breakfast, which contained 2 slices wholemeal toast, bacon, 2 poached eggs, baked beans and mushrooms. All washed down with an americano - along with a top up. I love Harrison’s as they offer top up coffees. My breakfast was absolutely delicious, and clearly Harrison’s use fresh and quality produce. We enjoyed a dander through the shop afterwards to buy a few cards and browse at the gifts. Will be back soon.
