Absolute waste of money. Food was tasteless. Cheap chips and hardly any beef in curry.had the Chicken Satay Sauce- one word: bland. Food gave me a weird stomach ache as well. Food hygiene rating just one（IMPROVMENT NECESSARY) terrible. Never again

Just picked up a £40 order. Chow mein was vile tasted of flour, all wet. All 4 of us left it. What a waste of money. Won't be going here again.

Best Chinese food in the area very fresh and delicious…..

We downloaded the app and ordered on that. Quite easy to use. One great thing was that you can put special instructions against everything you order eg 'no nuts', or 'lots of chili' Another excellent thing is that you can specify the protein you want for a specific sauce. The delivery was within 45 minutes from placing the order. The food was delicious.

Food here is absolutely fantastic. We’ve been using this Chinese for years - food is delicious, hot and definitely the best Chinese in the area.

The worst chinese food ever had! Sweet and sour is like syrup and really sugary no taste whats so ever. I only got 1 prawns in my noodles. Took ages to be delivered. Not going to order ever again. Waste of money.

Over 90 min wait for delivery, no veg apart from beansprouts and onions in all the dishes. Chicken balls were tiny, the soup had no veg it was very oily, 5 pieces of beef In the chowmein and 4 prawns in the chop suey. Don't get the chips !! Probably the worst Chinese I've ever had.

Used to be the best Chinese by far, sadly it’s now the worst, Sauces heavily watered down so taste of nothing. Crispy duck, wasn’t crispy in the slightest, it was a soggy, fatty mess, more soggy skin than meat. Chicken balls were undercooked, so mainly raw batter, Shredded chilli beef was swimming in overly watered down sauce, so was a soggy mess. It’s such a shame, as it really used to be the best local Chinese. I wouldn’t waste your money, you’ll end up disappointed.

We had tonight and was not good at all! Used to be so nice,but very disappointed today,house special chow mein sauce was horrible and the prawns in breadcrumbs were burned. I will problably not order again!😞

Had a takeaway delivered last night and it was honestly one of the best Chinese takeaways I’ve had in a very long time. Always order from here and it can sometimes be below standard, but last nights was outstanding and it was that good, I’m going to order another tonight

Ordered House Special Chow Mein. Supposed to have beef, chicken, pork, king prawns and vegetables. One prawn, no beef or pork, sliced chicken, a couple of bits of carrot and a few bamboo shoots swimming in gravy and noodles. Won't be using them again.

I had a takeaway one night for my birthday so it was a big order and they didn’t get anything wrong and even gave us free duck on the house. Would recommend

We had a Chinese from you tonight. Haven’t used your takeaway for ages used to be a loyal customer until you changed the type of chicken that you use in your products. (by that I mean you use slices now when before it was chunks) I thought I would try you again a few weeks ago and ordered through the app and it was ok so thought I would try it again today. My partner was hesitant as he hadn’t had one for ages from you, he was away when I got the last one. He didn’t like it at all and to open up the cucumber pot to go with our aromatic duck and found what appears to be mould spores on the cucumber, makes me wonder about your food hygiene, I definitely won’t be ordering again. Order number 191923.

I usually love a chinese, however on this occasion I didn't enjoy the food. The sweet and sour sauce seemed to have loads on vinegar in it. All of the food was super greasy from all the oil it had been cooked in. The batter from inside the pork balls were really soggy. Satay chicken was really Firm and hard to eat. I think I will be buying from elsewhere next time.... What a shame!

Always had a great meal… unfortunately ordered £35.00 food ..the duck tasted off !…the rest of my order was ok …called the restaurant only for them to say … they buy the duck in COOKED ..and we fry it !… never again will I order anything from here !..

I was visiting my friend on new year eve, so we decided to order some food from his local Chinese take away. We placed the order,been told need to wait 40 mins to collect it. can totally understand how busy on new year eve. After I tried the food. I was impressed how delicious it was as a takeaway. well worth waiting for it.The portion was reasonable, the service was great. Would recommend it .

Quality of Chinese food is pretty good but portion size is laughably small. Also took nearly 2 hours to arrive… Very overpriced for what it is

I am absolutely disgusted by this take away. Customer service was beyond terrible. Last time, I ordered a seafood dish and told them several times, that due to dietary requirements, to ensure no chicken and no meat was added to the food. The food came and it had chicken, so I rang to tell them and lady at the end of the phone started being rude and literally shouting down the phone at me saying all sorts. I was trying to explain politely that they got the order wrong and I explained several times when I ordered that I can't have chicken or meat and they had added it. She wasn't interested that they'd made a mistake and said she was going to hang up and didn't want to speak to me. Just flabbergasted at their service

I've been a patron of Norman House, for about 5 or 6 years now. I can definitely echo the sentiments of some of the comments stating that the quality of the food has declined over time. I'm one of those odd people who order pretty much the same dish every time, so it makes it very easy for me to notice the quality from one order to the next. The sauces have gotten progressively sweeter and thinner. The rice and noodles are often, respectively hard or baby food soft. The one saving grace is that whenever I've had an issue with something, the staff have always been super helpful in rectifying it. Hopefully, Norman House can get back the food quality it once had.

First time we ordered from here I'll be sticking with my original place. The portions were small Rice was hard and tasted microwaved The crispy seaweed was chewy I don't want to go on but I won't be ordering there again.

Just ordered from them and was completely fleeced on the price. Order was £16.80 via the menu. I called to place the order and was told £19.80. When I questioned it, I was told it is the delivery charge and we live over 4 miles away. We actually live 2.7 miles away, which he knew. The biggest joke is they advertise free delivery on orders over £15! Not impressed at all

Food took over 2 hours to arrive. When it finally arrived the food was cold and everything had gone stodgy. Wont be ordering again really gone down hill

Just got a take away from Norman house,had chicken curry no flavour onion not cooked tasted like dishwater, lemon chicken and chicken balls batter very thick not nice, special fried rice,was not special not much ingredients except rice, whole meal was disgusting.

Ordered from site multiple times over the years but lately quality has been going down. Tonight we pre-ordered but due to a family emergency we tried to ring and cancel our order (placed for delivery at 8) at 7:25. Was immediately told our order was cooked and waiting for the driver to collect already. So, our order was cooked 35 mins before delivery time (which we were told was 15 mins away according to staff?). No wonder there have been so many recent reviews saying food has been arriving cold. Had we been told the food was being prepared, we’d have paid and taken the knock despite not being around to actual eat it. But the attitude of the person we spoke too, combined with the seemingly pre-pre-prepared food, was the last straw. Sorry but the last time we’ll be ordering. You were good for a while, but it’s all gone to pot.

Myself, friends and family have been ordering from here for years and years. Consistently great food, really can't fault it. Always very friendly staff too. I'm 32 now, but me and my mates for the past 14 years would always get together every month, play video games and order a norman house. Very happy memories and I hope they'll be around for many more years.

Szechuan Sauce Main Ingredient Chicken This is my order, first time ordering from this place, I'am very upset the crispy beef is not crispy it is like rubber it needs to be chewed for ages.The cantonese style chicken does not tase like cantonese style but just like simple sweet and sour chicken.The egg fried rice is dry,no egg at all maybe the residue from the pan.The szechuan sauce was rubbish it was watery,tasteless and the chicken was just boiled and dropped in the sauce.Anyone who likes chinese i do not recommend this takeaway.

Without question the lowest quality Chinese food we’ve ever bought. All of the dishes we ordered consisted of 90% slippery onions, most in very thin, tasteless, watery sauces. Quite simply awful food...

Ordered for the last 3/4 times and state ‘no onions’ yet every time it comes ... onions ... and this time it was 20 minutes late yet still have to pay for delivery. Getting to the point now where the app is useless and staff clearly don't follow instructions. Now i would not recommend this place if you dont want anything else in the curry or stuff.

Poor show, arrived promptly but the crispy duck was poor. Questionable size of the duck as it was pre picked. Fortune garden in Horley is leaps ahead and served on the bone. Wife had spring rolls and couldn't eat them as they were to oily with minimal veg. We chose NH as Fortune Garden was closed. I'll make a cheese sandwich next time.

Recent price hike has put me off unfortunately. I have used norman house for years. They offer a Quorn variation of lots of their dishes. Their food is very tasty, but recently the price has gone up considerably which has stopped me using them. Would be 5 stars otherwise.

Really good Chinese food at a reasonable cost.

Just had our order delivered and timing was quick but that's the best thing about this place! Plain foo yung was watery onion only oh no sorry there was a token piece of egg!! The egg fried rice was like it had been sitting all day and warmed up for our order, the plain chow mein just the same!! Thumbs up for your chips though..... almost forgot it was a delight hearing how the staff spoke to my partner, arguing with him and not listening! Can't even give us a refund so as we used the app! What a delightful place this is!!!!!!

Exceptionally good!! I tried this take away when my normal Chinese was shut! They did not disappoint, I thought it was one of, if not the best, Chinese meals I have ever had. I will be using them more often from now on.

Norman House has provided very tasty and good quality food every time we have used them. Although we are not local, my partner and I often stay in the Redhill area and always use Norman House in the evenings for excellent Chinese food to take back to our hotel. We wish we lived locally so that we could use them more often, but we look forward to ordering from Norman House every time we are in the area!

First time back to Norman House after a few years and it was a pleasant surprise. The food was fresh and tasty. Salt and pepper prawns delicious as was the Singapore noodles, Kung Po chicken was nice though quite mild. The vegetable spring rolls were our only regret as they were more roll than spring vegetable.
