Thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Nord. The food was delicious, with attention to small details really making the difference. For example the hot sauce with the chicken KFC was superb (just the right level of piquancy for me), and I loved that our vegetable side included romanesco broccoli. My only regret is that I didn’t copy my partner’s dessert choice - he had the baked Alaska; I’ll simply have to learn from my mistake next time we go! The service was fabulous from start to finish. Attentive and friendly without being intrusive. We were looked after very well by everyone we encountered. Last but not least, the restaurant is simply beautiful. The ambience was relaxed enough for us to feel right at home though. We’ll definitely visit Nord again.

Food is definitely not what the restaurant is trying to promote. Yes the ingredients are from local but all the food are tasteless or way too salty. The squid is way too salty with a paste at the bottom that taste like pure salt. The chicken is way over cooked and taste like boiled rubber and i have no idea what KFC hot sauce they attempt to show. The pork belly is way too fat to eat at all. Service is also way too slow. We have to keep waiting for service while seeing all staffs running around. Overall this is way too expensive for such mediocre food quality and service but very nice decor. Do not recommend.

Food and service were fantastic, the restaurant itself is also a really nice relaxed place to be. Had a drink at the bar before and the drinks were excellent and staff very knowledgeable. Food was very very good I had the tartare and monkfish tail with greens and potatoes on the side. Portions were generous for a fine dining place. This is just the kind of restaurant Liverpool needs a few more of. The restaurant is a little bit buried in a business district but well worth the trip, I’ll definitely be going back.

My partner and I recently dined at Nord, and it was such a delightful experience! The food was fantastic, and Sara, who looked after us, was absolutely wonderful. When I accidentally ordered something I couldn’t eat, Sara quickly and cheerfully swapped it for something else. Her attentive and friendly approach made the experience really special. We had a lovely time and highly recommend Nord!

We were there when it was quite quiet so I can imagine it's pretty crowded when full but if you're going for an impressive meal in Liverpool give it a try. On the expensive side for an evening meal but not outrageous or overpriced.

Quite spectacular. We opted for the Chef's recommended menu and every course was stunning. Perhaps it was a bit uncouth asking for a spoon to scrape one of the plates, but I don't regret it! This is a beautiful restaurant with incredibly knowledgeable staff who are clearly passionate about their job. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience

Can't speak highly enough of this restaurant. It has a modern and relaxed atmosphere with good interior design. All the staff were top notch throughout. We were a bit early for our table but were made welcome and seated at the bar for drinks where we had two tasty cocktails. In particular the sailors tempest was the best version of a dark and stormy I've ever drank. We were quicky seated and had a wonderful waitress who was excellent throughout, welcoming and friendly, explaining the dishes, the origins of the food, regularly checking in and topping up drinks. We decided on the chefs tasting menu but being adverse to fish out waitress went and spoke to the kitchen and swapped out those dishes for others, they were extremely accomodating. Every dish that came was exceptional yet some how surpassed by the one after. The lamb and chicken dishes were some of the best food I had ever eaten and the steak tartare was delightful. The meal was ended perfectly by a lemon tart and raspberry coulis. Shout out to the beetroot dish as well which was rich and flavourful. Overall our experience was faultless and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.

I’d heard a lot of great things about Nord so we tried it for a ChopValue UK team night out. I don’t usually do reviews but this place is so good I had to tell people! Food was incredible, the Executive Chef and staff are class acts, and the vibe in there is one of the coolest you’ll experience. One million percent I’ll be going again soon!

This is the 4th time I've been here and it never disappoints. It was my aunt and uncles anniversary and they were celebrating with a night in Liverpool. We hadn't seen them in a good while so we had a meal at Nord. The bartender (Julia) was immediately attentive, getting us water and a glass of a delicious white wine. She talked with us and even got us some focaccia when I expressed that I was worried about drinking on an empty stomach. Daryl then came over and brought us to our table, he talked over the menu and made us feel so welcome! He remembered me as well, which is always a great touch. We ordered the ham croquettes, my sister and I shared the chicken dish while my aunt and uncle both ordered the cod Kiev. It was all so good! And both Saffi and Florence made sure we were happy and that our drinks were topped up. I may be becoming a regular here! Such a great place - especially for a special occasion. They gave us some stuff on the house and we were made to feel like special guests.

Went for a lil solo lunch to pass time before my friends wedding and couldn’t have made a better choice. Charlotte who served me was lovely, all other staff also super helpful and lovely. Absolute bargain for the lunch, I got two courses that could’ve easily been 20£ dishes. Best restaurant in Liverpool, I will be back.

...had to let the review sit for a bit. First of all text below is a singular very bias opinion of one happy individual, please take it with a grain of salt and pepper. We were probably the worst customers in the history of hospitality, to be honest. Seriously, who goes for a Sunday roast in a nice restaurant, at 5PM no less! Unfortunately for us (and poor chefs!) this was the only time we could make to meet a friend, who we haven't seen for a while. Fortunately for us, however, we chose Nord as our haven for the evening. First things first, place is gorgeous! Not flashy gorgeous where you need sunglasses in the evening to cover all the kitsch bling, but light, discreet, unpretencious elegance, eyes resting on what looked to me very close to perfect interior (separate bow to whoever ordered those marvellous water glasses). Young servers, nice uniforms, lovely service, but, same as interior - exactly at perfect level not to make you uncomfortable if you're a walk-in and all your Prada is at dry-cleaners. Service not annoying, not nauseatingly sweet, exactly as needed in a timely and polite manner. Great wine card with more than democratic pricing, but amis said the hungarian Tokaji was very lovely. Food... Oh boy. Starters were amazing, my partner, who doesn't like mid-rare steak, ate a tartar of beef and apparently now likes raw beef, I think that explains the taste situation well. Seabass sashimi fresh, with some tricky smokey sauce (didn't catch the ingredient), absolutely smashing (both starters are on pics). Roast was, well, a roast. Honest meat. Special applause to chicken, done to absolute perfection (to those new in restaurant business - chicken breast is much more difficult to get spot-on temperature-wise, than, say, beef, it has no wiggle room, either raw or dry). Pork done beautifully too. One teeny tiny thing, if I'm really nitpicking - roasted potatoes had hard crust on them. Which, if you complained about at the family table, when eating lunch dishes at 5PM, mother would probably hit you on a forehead with a wooden spoon, and would be in her full right to do so. Fortunately chefs did not resort to violence and we left unharmed. Another special mention - again, it's probably just me, but for me a lot can be said about chef is in the way he treats his most basic ingredients, cheaper veggies, for instance. It's easy to pull off a fascinating fillet mignon, try making a memorable cauliflower, or an inspiring broccoli. And the team aced it. Not only perfectly cooked vegetables, crunchy yet soft inside, roasted in something I can only assume was some sort of animal fat for that extra oomph, but oh my god the colour on those things, vibrant, lively. Desert I politely refused, understanding that explosion will not in any way improve the decor. To sum up, great place, prices are more than comfortable, smashing food, smashing team, only one huge flaw darkens my experience - after you eat and pay, apparently it's customary to leave. That part I really didn't enjoy.

Best Sunday lunch in town! We took friends from London for a birthdy treat and they enjoyed it so much they missed their train back to be able to stay for dessert! Excellent allround experience. Creative menu, cool decor and welcoming, attentive staff. Every wine and every dish was a winner. We had the ham hock croquettes, scotch egg, sea bass to start and the roast chicken, pork neck and steak mains, finishing with the Japanese cotton cake and gooseberry and almond tart. Everything was full of flavour but special shout out for the crispiest roast potatoes and tastiest yorkshires and gravy. The cherry on the cake was the live DJ with the best background tunes for a Sunday afternoon (I Shazam'ed the whole playlist) We'll be back!

Went last night after first great experience, but very dissatisfied and disappointed. My son’s birthday and the three of us chose the £70 taster experience off the menu. Although delicious, there simply was not enough food. Main was lamb chop ( we didn’t get 2 each) and three small slithers of monkfish. No sides. It’s a cliche to say you have to visit a chip shop or a McDonald’s after fancy fine dining, but true in this instance. I stated plainly there wasn’t enough to the waitress, but then to add insult to injury, they brought out only two desserts between the three of us. The vibe and staff are lovely, but being parsimonious on the core offering isn’t a way forward.

The restaurant is beautiful, its decoration is very good. They treated us very well. We ordered some oysters, croquettes and hams as a starter. Then we ordered the lobster skewer and for the main course the chicken, ribeye, cod and the catch of the day. I think what I liked the most was the chicken in miso sauce. Their wine and cocktail menu is very good. The desserts are chocolate, baked Alaska, and Japanese cake. Delicious!

Hidden gem. Tucked away behind Old Hall Street. Ambience and decor quite retro 60's. Nice bar area. Seated on round table with swivel chairs not comfortable, so we moved to a booth. Waitress was excellent (Eva), she was really attentive and made our evening better by getting everything right. Wine good, starting with Cremant and followed with Provence Rose. Had some snacks, focaccia, and salt & vinegar scratchings. All starter excellent. Ceviche needed more flavour, steak tartar too salty, prawn & monkfish scenery perfectly cooked. Mains, Lamp perfect, Sole for two excellent. Too full for dessert.

My favorite restaurant. All the things I look for in a restaurant were done perfectly. The bar man was friendly and very knowledgeable. The waiting staff approachable and efficient. The music created atmosphere without being over powering. The tables are spaced out so you have privacy. And then there is the food! Absolutely first class in ever way and the menu was easy to understand. I've dined in a double Michelin star restaurant in Chicago (which was amazing) but Nord beats it.

NORD is definitely a place to visit in Liverpool. The restaurant looks very posh and designed neatly. The staff were very friendly and polite. For lunch, we ordered the beef tartare and cured seabass for starters, cod kiev and grilled lamb for main, Japanese cotton cake and mille-feuille. All of the food tasted impeccable and the plating was excellent. Although I must be very honest the pricing might be a bit at the expensive end of the normal spectrum. It was worth it though. Thanks to Nord for a lovely Saturday lunch with my brother, sister in law and sister. The 70s inspired decor is a hit of excitement and a nod to their attention to detail. The menu reads well and I’d encourage guests to take advantage of their lunch menu where four of us were able to order the whole menu (including a fourth dessert that wasn’t listed in the menu) Service was great and very friendly. Made better when recognising Ritchie from a previous meal at the Ledbury (3 Michelin stars!) Highlights: the crispy fish, the tandoor beetroot, the focaccia with sea kelp and truffle butter and the opera cake. Congrats Daniel Heffy. You deserve every success. I hope the city of Liverpool continues to support you in driving Nord forward (full booked for Sat dinner) I know I will be visiting again!

Last year we visited Nord after they first opened. I left a review that was a bit critical. Since then, we've returned a number of times and been pleasantly surprised by the improvements they've made. For this reason, I'm editing my original review. Some standout areas we love about Nord: - Excellent service: Friendly, attentive, and professional front of house staff and servers. Each time we've visited, staff have remembered us and this evening offered complimentary drinks. They're so nice at Nord. - Food quality: Love the steak tartare, pasta dishes, and their selection of inventive options. Menu changes over time, allowing you to try different things each visit. - Atmosphere: Upscale resturaunt with nice music and fun vibes. Great for dressing up and going out for a special night. Overall, I really commend Nord's staff for the improvements they've made and it's easily become one of our favorite resturaunts now.

Absolutely love Nord!! We had such a memorable experience. From walking in through the old office-block doors the first thing that hits you is the incredible decor and super-cool ambience. Service was excellent, with a fantastic wine recommendation and David keeping us entertained all evening. The food was the highlight. Loved that it was all locally sourced and tasted incredible, with all of the smallest elements done exceptionally well. Would highly highly recommend and will definitely be back soon.

Get the pecans and the olives. The ox cheek is amazing. The tartare is far from traditional but is better than any I've had in Paris. The cod Kiev is incredible, especially with the pea fritter. The crab salad milk roll is delightful. Get the mackerel. The chips are among the best I've ever had. The greens; the carrots! The banana sticky toffee is divine. And what a wonderful drinks menu. The service is faultless. It's attentive without being intrusive, warm without being too familiar and knowledge without ever feeling condescending. The decor and atmosphere are perfect - stylish but not at the expense of substance and even though the bar is big and there are lots of covers, tables aren't crammed together. The music's good too. It's not cheap but what is? It's not too expensive, though, and - for my money - is the best value restaurant in town. Nowhere else matches it. I can't wait to go back.

Went to Nord for a birthday meal last night, both of us were very impressed with the food, drinks and service. We had some cocktails, croquettes and charcuterie while we decided what to eat. All excellent, one of rhetorical cocktails was beetroot based- our waiter told us he’d created it after trying the beetroot dish on the menu and enjoying beetroot for the 1st time. My wife had the beetroot starter, I normally loathe the stuff but tried it and had to agree with the waiter! I went for steak tartare, delicious and one of the best I’ve had. Mains I went for the pork rump, delicious but annoyingly small compared to Em’s sole which she could barely finish! Desserts I had the lemon meringue pie and Em the sticky toffee pudding, both lovely. Would highly recommend

Four of us dined for Sunday roast to celebrate my mum’s 70th. The cocktails on arrival were amazing, bar staff really attentive. We ordered the porter house beef from the Sunday roast and wow! It’s huge! More than enough to share between two. The cauliflower cheese was incredible as were other veggies. Mum had chicken, dad monkfish and both said they were excellent. The only low point was the dessert. We ordered the syrup sponge and were expecting a light fluffy cloud in crème anglais but it was a dense cake, still cold in the middle. A disappointing end to an otherwise great dinner. Would recommend for sure.

My second visit to the bar. Has the Steak Tatare changed recipe? I had it before and do not remember it. Today, it was fantastic, a bouquet of flavours. Bar the staff looking at me as if I had two heads (no one spoke to me pass ordering) lovely food and drink was had. Update: Oh yes, if it wasn’t clear, very much a Green Book entry. I shan’t be back. Brothers and sisters should overlook.

We had a wonderful experience during our first visit here. Came for lunch. We felt very welcome. They accommodated our pram and baby. The service was great, efficient and polite. Went for a birthday meal with my wife and what a find. A little off the beaten track on the outskirts of the city centre, perhaps why a little on the quiet side, but I would wholeheartedly recommend making the trip. We opted for the chefs choice menu to share.....wow. A series of sharing dishes presented over 4 servings ( pre starters, starters, mains and dessert ). The food is outstanding, easily worthy of a couple of AA Rossettes, special mention to the croquettes, steak tartare, lamb and opera cake 🎂. Service was fantastic, relaxed and friendly. The wine pairing is very reasonably priced and a nice variety of wines. We were so full at the end of the meal, not something you can always say after a bit of fine dining. Nord definitely holds its own v the likes of London Carriage Works, Panoramic or Wreckfish. Can't wait to return.

Absolutely brilliant restaurant on the ground floor of a newish office development. Once you get over the open plan entrance the ambience is warm and welcoming with a modern 'scandi' feel and great vices. Service was charming, efficient and unobtrusive. Food was superb - we ate from the £28 set lunch menu - and every course as well as the nibbles and extra chips we ordered was top end. There's a short but very good wine list from which we chose a very fine Gavi for £36. Great place of all types of diners - couples, business lunches etc. & highly recommended by us. We've already booked to go again with a bunch of friends we enjoyed it that much!

This is a restaurant that serves the type of food you compare all other future food to. It makes you appreciate every little thing about a dish as you sit there, mesmerised, staring through arches carved into the back wall that reveal an open kitchen. If you’ve ever tried Another Hand in Manchester (and enjoyed it) then NORD is its Liverpool equivalent. The food is on a whole other level. You wouldn’t think you’re on the ground floor of an office block, which surprised us when we arrived. Just don’t let that put you off, because the decor makes you forget where you are very quickly. It wasn’t busy when we went for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon, but it still felt lively enough for you to imagine just how fun this place must be at the weekend when every table is full. I’ll be back at NORD, no doubt. And I’ll be dragging friends and family over from Manchester without hesitation.

Came here for our anniversary and service was impeccable. They bought us complimentary champagne to celebrate and all the food was delicious and delivered in timely fashion. Our server, Milan, was amazing. We let her choose what dishes to put on our chefs choice, and none disappointed. The bartender, Andy, was also amazing. Came for the Sunday roast and I did not disappoint, started with the cheese croquettes and the flavour from them was immense, that leek emulsion 🤝 then went on to have the black pudding scotch egg, banging also the apple ketchup was fruity and sweet. Maine I opted for monkfish wish I’d never had before but will definitely have again! Finished with the banana sticky toffee with vanilla ice cream which I can safely say is one of the best desserts I’ve ever had, I thought I couldn’t eat anymore but I finished the full thing. All of this finished off with fantastic service from Andy and Abby! Will definitely be back.
