7 years we have been frequenting this restaurant.... it's normally brilliant, tonight however, it has been the BEST ever !! My 60th birthday this week (no one knew), what a perfect ending to it. Well done boss (and team) !!!!

We love this place. It’s by far and away our favourite Indian restaurant in the area. Always friendly. Always delicious. Fantastic value. Thank you for another fantastic meal this evening. Our son thinks you do the best Korma and the best Tikka Masala!

We were a group of 3 who had been to watch a match at the local football club in Willand. We researched a "local" restaurant for a meal on the way back home and are very pleased that we found Noor Sitari. We only just got in - so recommended to pre-book! Although the restaurant part of the very busy takeaway is quite small, it is nicely decorated and quite separate. A very friendly reception and good and quite quick service with an extensive menu - all reasonably priced. This is a bring your own alcohol restaurant and they do not charge corkage! Most important, the food is excellent - well spiced and large portions (they were happy to put what we could not mange to finish into takeaway containers). So good, we will return (even if there is no football match!).

Enjoyed one of the best Indian meals we had in a long time. Pickles offered with the poppadoms were fresh and especially loved the mint yogurt. Had two lamb mains and the lamb was so tender. Was really reasonable price and you can bring your own alcohol. The only complaint we have is that we do not live close enough to make this a regular treat.

Stayed in Cullompton to break up a journey. Found this restaurant. The food was so reasonable. Worth way more than they actually charged. Tasted great, excellent selection. The food was excellent, and the price very reasonable. However, while we were there quite early, we waited an hour for our food. It was clear that they prioritized take away customers over diners in the restaurant. The owner came to our table three times to apologize for the wait, and to tell us it would only be a few minutes. It wasn’t.

Waited 1 hour and 20 minutes for our meal. We kept being told it would be out soon. There were only 8 other people in the restaurant who also had not received their meals Despite the fact the table had been booked for 1hr 45 mins before, there was just too much emphasis placed on providing takeaways, and none on the customers sat in the restaurant. I had chicken balti, which was ridiculously salty and a garlic nan, which appeared to be lacking garlic. I won't be eating here again.

Ordered over phone 6.50pm and was told an hour to collect. Arrived and had to wait another 40 mins. After asking was told it will be another 10mins and another 10 mins. Was told eventually that they were short staffed so it was difficult to understand why they still took more orders over the phone. Just say I wasn’t impressed! Appeasement offered in the form of a £5 voucher next time but frankly not sure I want to go through the wait again.

I have visited this restaurant last night and had food. Food quality is excellent, and service is super. Inside environment is very nice for seating for enjoying quality time. Highly recommended to visit.

Ordered at 6.15 and told it would be ready by 7.35. drive from Taunton to then have to wait until 8.15 for our food. She constantly apologised to everyone for the wait, but as others have mentioned, was taking orders continuously on the phone . So many people were waiting before us. What really ticked come off was when I asked for an update I was told, on more than one occasion, "5 to 10 mins" and "yours is being bagged up now", only for the next order to come out for someone else. Again and again. It ruined the meal for me. The food was a touch above average I'd say, btw. If you can't cope, don't take the orders. No chance I'll make the same mistake again.

First time back in the uk ive sat in restaurant wednesday night full and great service. We had chicken ticka marsala king prawn chingray and chicken lahore so tasty is the best around bought in own wine which makes big saving no corkage.

Unbelievable and anyone who doesn’t rate this place 5 stars doesn’t appreciate the quality and consistent superb attitude and accuracy of all takeaways . As with any take away the moment you leave and get home you just want the order to be correct and it is 100% of the time. The food is excellent and the service is superb . This restaurant gets amazing reviews on here and we have tried it about six times as we really want to love it. The starters are incredible. The bhajis are crispy and light. The poppadoms are always served fresh with loads of crisp salad and onion, and a set of three yummy sauces.The samosas are a bit bland actually, if I'm being really honest. The sheek kebab is absolutely yummy and perfectly spiced.We have tried so many of the curries. There is lots of choice. You literally cannot go wrong - the sauces are all delicious. What lets this place down is the horrible cheap chicken they use. I've tried plain and tikka and unfortunately it isn't improved by the marinade. It tastes glassy and reheated. It has such a horrible texture. It falls apart in strands rather than being juicy and flavoursome. If you order lamb it is not soft slow cooked and tender (which I love in curries)... it is tough, grizzly and charred and then dipped in the sauce as an afterthought. I really can't get around it. I've tried ordering on several different occasions thinking I just got them on a bad day. For now I will be sticking to vegetarian items from the menu as I just can't eat the meat here. It's so disappointing as the quality and taste of everything else is really good. I really hope they read this review and take it on board.

What a lovely place. The staff are very friendly and obliging. I asked if they could make me something that wasn’t on the menu and they did so. More to the point, it was absolutely delicious. Once again, its Tuesday night, we are at the restaurant after a period away (dieting), its a struggle to get a table, the food is consistantly amazing, tesco (other supermarkets are available) provided the refreshments, staff couldnt be more obliging. Called for a table at late notice but they did fit me in, too my amazement considering how busy it is.Starter, main course, rice and naan for onlt 10.00 per person. Staff are courteous, fellow diners content and in good humour, food top notch.Please, please.... give this a try, review the reviews you WILL NOT be disappointed.

Came here for a New Year’s Eve meal. Restaurant was clean and tidy. Service was very good, couldn’t do enough for us. Food was delicious and a good price for what you get. I will defiantly be returning.

We are regulars to Noor Sitara and won't go anywhere else for our Indian. Fancied a curry on New Years Day and ordered 2 x Chicken Kormas, 2 x Rice and a couple of poppadoms. We had a complimentary voucher for £5 off as there was a mix up from our previous order so it cost £13 for our meal - bargain!!!Food was amazing as always and staff lovely and pleasant. A definite must when in Cullompton.

Stopped off whilst travelling home - excellent friendly service , meal was very good and served promptly but not rushed , would definelty recommend and will be going back.

10 of us ate here for a work night out,the food was amazing and the staff are brilliant,we over ordered as we didn’t realise how big the portions but this gave us the chance to try different things as a group,with the restaurant being so intimate it does get loud so you have to shout over big tables and we had a couple of people who’s drinks were flat when served at the time,it’s because they serve from a bottle it might be worth the restaurant investing in cans of soft drinks.

This is probably my favorite Indian in the area. The staff are just so lovely and the food is fantastic!

11 of us are here on a Friday night for a work related party,the food was bloody lovely with lots to pick from on the menu,service was a little slow but that’s not a problem if you want to enjoy the intimate atmosphere,you get to bring your own alcohol,I chose gin but my tonic water that I was served was not very cold and quite flat,next time I will take wine or cider,would like to revisit on a Tuesday night for the Buffet

Small restaurant but fantastic food, well presented. Take your own alcohol but buy mixers. Disappointed they didn't sell sugar free lemonade as a mixer, spoilt my drink. The food more than made up for it though. Will definitely visit again.

We were staying in the area for a night whilst on holiday. We actually found this place using tripadvisor. Being honest I wasn't really thinking it would be very good being the only curry house in the area but I was nicely surprised! It was really tasty, every dish we ordered was fantastic, they even gave us popadoms and naan which we hadn't ordered as part of our takeaway. Great place, suggest you try it if you fancy a curry!

We were visiting the area on holiday and found this after looking at reviews online. Understandably we couldn’t take our dog in with us as he was with us, but my wife and I had a great meal, that was sizeable and ultimately delicious. Thank you. I’d recommend anyone to go!!!

We have visited Noor Sitara, which is situated in Cullompton high street, on many occasions previously. Every single time we receive friendly and prompt service and excellent food. The food is fresh and tasty with so many lovely choices.

The great thing about this place is you can bring your own booze, so this keeps the cost down. We share a main as it's always too much food, but last night we found the rice portions huge so we may have to share a rice in future too. We had poppadums and onion baghi to start. Moshi meeta and 2 mushroom rice and a garlic naan. Came to £24 for a meal out. Bargain. And the staff were quite friendly as always especially the Indian lady who always makes an effort and is very polite. Have been here many times and look forward to coming many more.

I reviewed this restaurant some time ago but felt, after a recent visit, that I should write again. Situated in the main street of Cullompton, the Noor Sitara is a 28 covers, cosy restaurant that radiates high standards of cleanliness and quality of food. Always a warm welcome from the staff who can't do enough to please you and make your visit memorable. The menu is extensive and everything I have eaten there has been exceptional. Dine early if you want peace and quiet and try the Banquet Night on a Tuesday if you want a livelier evening. I would recommend booking a table whenever you decide to go. Free nearby off road parking after 6 pm and a large car park for a modest fee which is about 200 m away. Narrow entrance and stairs to the restaurant so probably not suitable for wheelchair users. You can bring your own alcoholic drinks.

During our family holiday at the nice Upton Lakes lodges, we decided to give the Tuesday 'Banquet Night' a try where they provide a starter, main course and nan/ rice for a set price. Glad that we did. Food was very tasty and the service quick and friendly.

Popped in for an early evening curry on a warm day driving back from Bristol Airport. Used TripAdvisor to look for a curry house near Tiverton & based on the reviews we decided Noor Sitara was worth a detour... we were not disappointed. The exterior is unassuming & maybe a little tired as is the interior but service & the curry served more than made up for this! We were served by George, who was very accommodating. There is a great range of curries on offer & we soon made our decision opting for Naga Chicken, King Prawn Ceylon with Chana Masala. What arrived was presented with care with every dish looking distinct in its own presentation & just the right amount of rich sauce. Needless to say it was all excellent & more than we could manage after the obligatory popadoms to start. What was left we took home to enjoy the following evening. As well as dining in they offer takeaway too. This is a BYO operation so buy some lovely cold drinks to enjoy with your excellent curry!

This restaurant is top notch. The seating is area is somewhat smaller than you might expect but do not let this deter you. Go early or book in advance to avoid disappointment. The food is delicious and the staff are first class. I had a king prawn biryani and a garlic nan bread and of course popadoms with pickles to start.

Love having this restaurant to close proximity to my house. This time we opted for a takeaway, one thing i was told or didn't see a sign for was orders under £10 are cash only - i only had my debit card but the waiter happily put my order of £9 through the card machine. The Chicken Korma is amazing and nice to get a little pot of my favourite mint and yogurt sauce with my poppadums.

This is seriously good curry house. All four of our dishes were delicious, with delicate flavours outranking fiery taste. My chicken Korahi was tender and beautifully spiced whilst my wife's vegetarian meal (vegetable Lahoori) was a singular success. The real star of the show was our friend's King godla chingry, giant king prawns from the Bay of Bengal with a delicately spiced sauce. Gorgeous. Total bill (4 mains, 2 rice, 2 sides plus poppadums) came in at under £60. For this quality of food it was an absolute bargain.

My husband and I had a wonderful meal in this restaurant last night. We looked at the menu but couldn’t find our favourite starter so when the waiter asked us if we were ready to order we asked him if they could do puri and could we have it crispy he said they could. We then changed some of the ingredients on our mains and they obliged. The waiters were so friendly and obliging the only fault was too much salt for our taste as we don’t use salt at home but the meal was fabulous. Brilliant food and fabulous waiters.

We decided to go here after it was recommended by the site we were working on. We called in at tesco and got a couple of drinks and headed here. I couldnt fault anything about it! We got a great portion and selection of pickles with popadoms to start. The main currys and rice were great and good portions too! And the nan breads were perfect!

We went here because it seemed lots of the places recommended by our accommodation do not serve food Sunday night so rather than spending time driving through the fog ee decided to get a curry.

We visit regularly, usually we use the takeaway, however just lately we have been sitting in the restaurant especially on a Tuesday (Their banquet night) delicious food every time, always a warm welcome and great atmosphere, will definitely be back again!

Just had take away from noor sitara and was really nice especially the chicken tikka Lahore plus really nice owners very welcoming and very reasonably priced would recommend and will be definitely be using in near future. Although Indian isn't my first choice of food, I have to say the food was excellent. The service first class but the noise levels were terrible, you could hardly hear across the table. It is quite a small room, there were 8 of us, and 2 other parties. It didn't affect me personally but if you like alcohol you need to take your own, they will provide the glasses and dispose of the empties! A good evening but too noisy for me!

Service was friendly and that's where the compliments stop. Waited for ages to be served to the point that we presumed it may never happen. . . . With hindsight unfortunately it did. Finally ordered from a polite gentleman but then waited further 45 minutes until our food arrived. The 3 different curries on show were a toxic red tikka masala, a Madras which tasted more like a phall and the butter chicken which I foolishly ordered. Has anyone ever seen a white curry before? It basically tasted like chicken in a bechamel sauce. Being typically british of course I didn't complain and when the waiter came over to ask if everything was alright I nodded and smiled. However I can't live with the thought of someone else going home feeling as sick and quite frankly as annoyed as I do. An 'Indian culinary experience'?.........I think not. I can honestly say the cheapest supermarket microwave curry would taste better.

We went spare of the moment and luckily they were able to squeeze us in , as it was busy due to being banquet night. This made the food very good price and it tasted nice (not a huge fan of curry). The service overall was good and although the restaurant is small it was comfortable . They do not sell alcohol but you can take your.own which is a good idea. Can not fault it. Also got a take away for my family who did not want to go out for tea , they enjoyed it as well.

I'm like a broken record.... Once again Syed and his team have excelled themselves. Yesterday was my wife's birthday and as a surprise I booked the restaurant for a dinner for ourselves and a load of our friends. Not only was the table set for 18 of us but Syed had provided birthday banners, balloons and table decorations. Everyone had a fantastic evening, food was superb, not one single complaint, if fact one of the guests admitted the naan bread was the best they have ever had. Never does anybody ever compliment an item such as the bread !!!!!! A range of dishes from passanda, dupiaza, tikka masala, mixed grill and much more, all food came out hot and plentiful.

We have passed this restaurant so many times as we live locally but last night on returning from Exeter we decided to give it a try. What a good decision - once we found a parking place in Cullompton, which can be challenging at any time day or night, we entered the restaurant. Tuesday night is Banquet Night (BN) and clearly very popular. We had not booked but the staff could not have been more helpful and a table was made available immediately. We used to eat here years ago when it was called The Eastern Eye but the Noor was a revelation - charming gentleman at front of house, a helpful informative waiter and immaculate dining area and toilets. The BN offers diners a choice of starter, main and rice or nan with a modest extra charge for specials like king prawns. It is a very small, cosy dining area - about seven tables but still giving enough space not to be too close to other diners. The menu is extensive and everything we had was delicious. We opted for the BN this time but there are so many choices we will try the main menu next time. No alcoholic drinks are served but you can bring your own with no cover charge. Our bill for two BN meals plus a couple of extra side dishes and large soda and limes was £34. I believe Noor Sitara means glittering star and there are not many of those in Cullompton.

Well, Cullompton probably doesn't wear a crown - maybe a paper hat at Christmas - but Noor Sitara absolutely lives up to its reviews. Visiting on business, I really wanted to treat myself and thought that I'd have to go to Exeter...but thanks to Trip Advisor I gave Noor a go. Blimey! First class Indian that you'd normally have to go up to Manchester for. A great chef, lovely service. Recommended.

Cullompton is hardly the culinary capital of Devon, but here stuck away on the High Street at the intersection with Railway Street, which is the one that comes off the M5, is Noor. I have been here for dinner on two occasions, a year apart ( I live in Cape Town) and on both occasions the food has been superb and the owners are also the staff, friendly, knowledgeable and priced right. They're not licenced (which I like) so bring your own wine, no corkage is charged, Hint, book, they've been full on both nights I've been there.
