Nook in Stockport

It’s a shame to write this but I can’t believe just how down hill it has gone. Visited today with my parents, and I was shocked, the place needs a good clean, the glasses were dirty next to the water and the menus were scruffy.All the cakes were not covered. Ordered toasted tea cakes one of which was only half toasted and had chunks of black bits stuck to it like burnt cheese, We got a refund. The staff were lovely but I am extremely dissapointed and won’t be going back which is sad because it used to be so nice

Tables were dirty, cakes were out on the counter getting sneezed on, also they ask for tips up-front before anything has even happened... the actual food was bangin though to be fair

Pretty miserable and wet yesterday so I nipped into Nook for a coffee and a Veggie Brunch Wrap which was really tasty and the staff were super friendly. Cool Tipi covered area in the Gin Garden at the back - Love it ;-)

Moved to the area 2 years ago and this was one of our favourites (very dog friendly). That being said the service and food seems to have declined recently. A visit over summer the lentil soup turned out to be lentil and chorizo which wasnt great for my vegeterian partner, we forgave this as simple but serious mistake. However we sat for brunch today to hear the bar staff loudly complaining about rude customers whilst not bothering to come check if our meal was okay, the table next to us also seemed to be having issues. The chips were overcooked oven chips and we feel the granola breakfast (topped with 2 strawberries and 5 blueberries) was over priced at nearly the same price as a sandwich. The chicken wrap had been cooked so the wrap had gone hard on the outside. On the way out the same complaining member of staff shouted "cheers then" as we left in a seemingly sarcastic tone.

Love Nook. The beer garden at the back in the summer is a real hidden gem.

Love it in this bar and ideal place to go for a pre dinner drink in Heaton Moore. Its certainly improved the place since they made it bigger.

Nice place, understated service

I’m not one to write a negative review, especially regarding a local Heaton’s business. I had a very disappointing experience on Sunday afternoon, took my dad for a Father’s Day coffee and we had to request a refund and leave after waiting over 30 minutes for some drinks. When we went up to enquire about a refund, the waitress told us the order had never gone through despite us paying. Not once during the 30 minute wait did anyone come over to check if we ordered etc. This is not the first time we have waited extensive amounts, recently went for evening drinks and our drinks were sat on the counter for 20 minutes before we received them. Very frustrating, I won’t be rushing back.

I liked the place, staff are really helpful, they had a high chair. A casual and eatery it's worth a look. Wheelchair users can access an outside table as there are plenty of stairs inside including access to toilets.

Loved this place and decor. First time going yesterday. Licenced cafe bar. Selling good coffee. Great service, tasty homemade food. Including a selection of homemade cakes.

I'm loathe to leave a review for Nook as it might make it even more difficult to get a seat in there. It's a great place and has got a great easy going atmosphere. Either for an afternoon coffee or an evening drink it's probably the best spot in Heaton Moor. Good coffee, great wine, great beer. It's the first place we look at. If we cannot get in there, then we'll consider elsewhere. If I'm going to be picky then the cakes could be better. But that is being picky 😊

Lovely little bar in the middle of Heaton Moor. Whether it's a coffee or a beer this is the place to go. It's only small but super cosy. Dog friendly too. Staff are super helpful and friendly.

Visited Nook in Heaton Moor on Saturday with family and was thoroughly disappointed after a good previous visit a month prior. The first problem was that the male staff member was too busy complaining loudly about the Mexican pop-up vendor that he forgot to put in our drinks ticket, meaning our juices took 30 minutes to arrive. He also when taking our initial drinks order didn’t mention that the normal food menu was not on due to the pop up food vendor. The staff behind the bar spent the entirety of our meal moaning about various things and were cold and dismissive when we wanted to take payment. A bizarre and disappointing experience. Compliments to the Mexican street food vendor person as the food and service was great from their end.

Called in for a sandwich and coffee. Cappuccino was great and my New Yorker sandwich was delicious. And it’s dog friendly as well. This is rapidly becoming our go to cafe

Marvellous place for food and drinks

Can't seem to go! Every time I go down they close early. 🤦‍♂️ I'm told their open mic night is good (by friends) but daytime or nighttime when I go... I end up going else where.

We called into Nook on 31.08.2022, for the first time, for brunch and had a lovely time The place has a funky, quirky, eclectic decor which made it all very interesting, split on two levels also with external, road side seating and we enjoyed the granola/greek yoghurt and banana bread/greek yoghurt with orange juices for a very, very reasonable price and extremely high quality Now we've discovered the Nook we will definitely return and are very happy to recommend

Great place to visit if your in the area we when in the afternoon for drinks the bar has a good selection of beers with at least two good lagers on draft and several beers at anytime the staff made us feel very welcome we will be visiting again soon 🙂🍻

This is the best jewel in Heaton moor. The best wine bar best coffee best cakes and food and especially the staffs and the managers both running that place.its the best ever place to go for good wine and the people are lovely and importantly it's dog friendly They have done a great job making the atmosphere so peaceful and relaxation the staffs are the best without them the services would not be that high quality. The service is the best it's my favourite place in Heaton moor

We hadn’t been since lockdown and the inside has undergone a bit of a refurbishment, although it hasn’t lost any of its character. The coffee was good (a proper cappuccino) and the rhubarb and almond cake devine (so much so that we ordered an extra one to share!). The service was friendly and efficient. The only downside was the cost (£18.20 for 2 coffees and 3 average sized cakes is expensive)

Charming staff but rather let down by the uninspiring menu

Nice little intimate cafe with friendly staff. Ordered 2 different milkshakes which were presented really well, but we're flavourless. It was like drinking a cup of milk which was warm with warm melting cream on top. It was also advertised as being served with chocolate sauce or one of my choice, however I did not get a choice and it was served with honey on top which really did not compliment the flavours of the drink, which were mostly non existent anyway, and for £5 each I definitely will not be returning.

Good all rounder with some decent drinks perhaps a tad on the expensive side for the beers compared to similar offers elsewhere. Coffee has really improved - I had an excellent soya cappuccino and unlike before it reopened it was really well made. Staff are always polite though at times they struggle to see you due to the design with the lower part of the bar hard to see from upstairs so would be good for them to regularly check customers in that section. The menu is perhaps a little underwhelming for vegetarians though the food is good. I’ve been for breakfast, nicely priced bagel but please add some savoury options (peanut butter, marmite) and lunch (good soup). Also a really good bar atmosphere in the evening.

We nipped in today for coffees and light lunch. The coffees were perfect, toasted banana bread was delicious and the bacon Brie and chipotle jam sandwich was beautiful. Lovely atmosphere and very friendly service, couldn’t fault it. Will definitely visit again

Beautiful decor, very polite and pleasant staff. The music is too loud in the day to comfortable chat and the black coffee is bitter. I won't be going back

Pre pandemic often went here for a lovely bacon sandwich, but have to say today was extremely disappointing, the bacon was very anemic looking to the point I wondered whether it was truly cooked. I did eat just over half of it but it wasn't great. And again unfortunately the knife I was given was filthy and on pointing this out to a member of staff she just said sorry. Giving we are all supposed to be extra careful, this actually was not good enough their cutlery should be spotless.

Nice decor, popped in with the wife on Sunday for a brew. Nice Coffee and hot chocolate. Staff were friendly and made you feel welcome. Will definitely go back.

Lovely cafe, we went for breakfast. The banana bread with yogurt and berries was delicious and latte was great. Waitress was friendly and helpful.

Missed this place so much! Visited yesterday afternoon/last night with some friends, and gave to say that the refurb looks stunning. The vibe is buzzing and the staff are really friendly, can’t wait to start making this place a regular haunt again.

Our coffee shop of choice whenever we are in the area. Just love the decor. The coffee is lovely and creamy even with skinny milk. The cakes are delicious - especially the carrot cake.

Really nice spot for a drink or a coffee or a platter of feed. Craft beer and artisan coffee. I would be devvoed if it closed down. Its my go to spot on the West Side of the Moor. Its a bit like West Side story with less Bernstein and more craft beer.

I generally like Nook despite its cashless policy. Being cashless is all about the retailer's convenience, not the customers. They also save money on not banking cash, but is any of this saving passed on to the customer? Anyway, on this occasion I had a Mocha. This was not a disaster but it tasted like a hot chocolate to me - no taste of coffee at all! I'll stick to a long black next time.

Called in to our favourite coffee shop for a late morning coffee and cake. The service was as friendly as ever and the carrot cake was so moist and tasty. There were a variety of different foods being eaten, and they all looked yummy!

Go to place in Heaton Moor Thursday night

We had an enjoyable visit to the Nook last Saturday evening after we had eaten next door. We had been a few times for coffee and food before but this was our first time in the evening. Good selection of beers, gins and cocktails and although the place was a bit quiet, a nice atmosphere and ambiance which was down to a DJ playing some excellent tunes. Bar man friendly and helpful, and a nice end to our evening.

I like this place...Or usually! Today it did not seem to give me the same feel. Service was a bit slow and dare i say offhand. Decent wine though. Will be back. Sute its not the norm!

Have always loved this cafe for it’s quirkiness and great coffee and cakes. Today’s visit however was underwhelming at best. Coffee was good but unfortunately my Danish pastry wasn’t up to scratch and service was mediocre. Hope it’s just one off day and not now the norm

Lovely coffee shop, friendly staff, cute place and a nice little outdoor seating Area at the front. Edit. Menu changed and now isn't great food, and service is very slow and impersonal. Also lots of cigarette butts outside in the seating area. A shame as it used to be my favourite place.

Set in the on trend Heaton Moor and a few doors from The Savoy Cimema. Only small but with some outside seating to watch the buzz of Heaton Moor. Lovely pastries and a fine selection of craft ales and wine, served by friendly staff.

Choose here to get lunch, lovely spot with tables outside. Food was amazing and different to every day cafe food. Would highly recommend stopping here for a bit of lunch or even a cuppa tea.

Great little place for a craft beer and a good choice of gins. Good atmosphere, friendly staff and quirky interior. Remember to take your bank card as they run a cashless establishment.

If you want a milkshake don’t ever go to this place. They didn’t even blend it?! Simply mixed what tasted like a yazoo milkshake. Made it a bit fancy by adding a scoop of ice cream and some whipped cream. For between £3-£4 I would expect at least some electricity to be used with a blender?! Save your money folks and head to McDonald’s in Stockport where you’ll get much better value for money.

Bank holiday Monday and a nice stop off here for a delicious coffee and tasty cake. Another diner was enjoying pancakes which looked amazing (so next time I’m having those!) I just love the bohemian feel to this place

We have been visiting Nook for several years. Unfortunately we feel it is not as good as it used to be. Service today was slow and I had to go back & ask for the cake that I had ordered & paid for but hadn't received.
