Nonna Gina's in Glasgow City

This is a local favourite and as ever we had a fantastic meal. A terrific menu and really great service makes for a great night!

Main courses pizza and pollo marsala poor only one topping on pizza had to pay 2 pounds for peppers and onion ,wasn't pollo marsala ,it was chicken with gravy best things were the desserts poor value for money wouldn't return

Delicious food and lovely, friendly staff. Went for lunch one day and it was so good we went back for dinner the next day! Great for gluten free too, lots of choice and staff were very knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

I had fish which was well overdone and my partner had Pizza which was dry and definitely average. Pity cause we have had good fair here in the past. They took the pizza off the bill to be fair. However note to chef - you need to send out much better food!!

It's been some time since I've been to Nona Gina's and my previous experience was a positive one. Tonight, however, was not a positive experience. We brought 2 friends in the hope of impressing them with good food. Unfortunately, the dining experience was a very negative one: my pizza was dry and totally lacking ingredients - inedible. The fish which my friend had was obviously frozen and overcooked - so much so that he left it. I won't be coming back here personally and I certainly won't be bringing friends/business contacts here. There are much better places locally.

My wife and I visited Nona Ginas on Saturday night and had a lovely time. The food was excellent as always. It is so fresh and delicious tasting. We visit on a regular basis and the staff are always to welcoming and attentive. My wife is gluten intolerant and this is always easily catered for. Definitely recommend.

Not that good...Atmosphere is great, food not upto the mark. I don't think I will be back, specially in quiet days, like during the week.

Ordered on just eat today mozzarella sticks, chips, risotto They must use Lewis Hamilton as takeaway driver as the meal arrived quicker than expected Delivery man wore mask and stood back as I put money in his delivery bag I’d highly recommend to my dad

Food is delicious. Delivery's have always been very quick. Food fresh and piping hot. We have had the arabiata and the salmon pasta and both portion sizes were massive-tubs filled right to the top. The suga risotto is delicious cooked to perfection. The veg pizza - delicious also- authentic italian base with all the toppings very fresh. Our favourite is the Garlic mushrooms - hard not to order 10 boxes of these- no idea how they do them but they are the best we have ever tried! The dip they come with is equally as delicious and salad always fresh. The arancini balls are amazing also (getting hungry just thinking about them haha) Delivery drivers are always friendly and quick even delivering to Barrhead everything is Piping hot. The staff are fantastic especially Gianni- we had a slight issue on our first order and he went above and beyond to resolve this. Really happy they deliver to Barrhead now - but more looking forward to a bit of a normal world again where we can go sit in a lovely restaurant glass of wine and stuffing our faces with delicious italian food. X

Ordered on just eat last night, first time. Great salsiccia pasta with penne. Full of flavour. Wasn’t too dear. Used to order from la vita but won’t be anymore this place was terrific.

We ordered via Just Eat and our order with was us within the hour. The food just as excellent as it is in the restaurant. Great value for money!

So fast we ordered for the first time on just eat platform. The food arrived. We ordered meatballs followed by a pizza and pasta to share. Glad we shared as the portions were huge. The pizza was piping hot also.

Great service from a restaurant we have eaten at for years. We had takeaways/home deliveries during lockdown and were delighted to find that although closed, they were still providing takeaway food. Had our first Saturday night home delivery - it was great. We will be supporting them throughout this local restriction.

Met here adhering to the government rules of two households which we were questioned on arrival. Which to be fair is just the staff doing their job. We shared a mixed platter of fried items. The mozzarella sticks especially were terrific. I had a pizza which was one of the best I’ve had since before lockdown when I visited Milan. Will come again hopefully we can visit in normal circumstances. Screens everywhere which made us feel safe

Our local Italian restaurant. There’s a few round our area but find this the best. Firstly the staff are very friendly. Secondly the food is always very good and thirdly Unlike other restaurants in the local area your not rushed out the door.The menu is always very varied and you have the option of small portions or large portions.Visited on a bank holiday and it was busy but no problem getting a table and all seats are spread so as it’s busy you still have plenty of space without feeling your right next to someone.Would highly recommend if you haven’t been before.

Meeting my colleague here for a business lunch. Layout was spread out. Nice service, two managers on duty very efficient.

Chose here on recommendation nice service by waiter, soup and sandwich well priced. The portion was very generous. Overall would come back again as recently moved to southside of Glasgow

Great food, I had Macaroni Cheese and my partner had Caesar Salad. We didn’t book ahead and sat outside which was absolutely fine as the weather wasn’t bad. The staff apologised numerous times about the having to sit outside but it truly didn’t bother us, still it was nice that they cared. Reasonable prices as well.

Upon staying here in newton mearns at the premier inn they suggested I visit here. Nice food, service good. Screens apparent for current covid conditions.

Honestly can’t rate this place highly enough like lots of folk in the Mearns we’ve been going there for a while now however it’s excelled in these tough times and new safety measures make me feel safe and sound oh and I nearly forgot the food is amazing

Just received and finished my lovely delivery dinner. Driver was polite and quick. The food itself was on another level, I struggle to understand how food can be this good, I just can't replicate it myself. I've not tasted this anywhere else! Unique and delicious. Well done Nonna Gina's!!

First time using Nonna Ginas having long used La Vita in the same area. Fancied a change and soon regretted that decision. Received two portions of re-heated pasta (take away) a portion of about 12 chips that cost £3.25 (see photo). I know times are tough right now but don’t overcharge your customers for pathetic portion sizes. I’ll be sticking to what I know in future.

Ordered pizza for collection last night. Prompt and friendly service and also was offered assistance to carry them out to the car. The pizza themselves were light and tasty. My personal favourite was the pizza Gianni. I will be looking forward till next time.

The restaurant was well set up for post Covid feel of what a restaurant should look like. Menu was very big which is good to see also. What a meal, the steak was cooked to perfection and served with mushrooms and tomatoes. I don’t like veg so ordered an extra portion of chips as I’m a big eater. The chips were lovely and hot which is good as another place I go to the chips are usually luke warm Rounded it off with caramel sundae which was unbelievable. I don’t drink but the soft drink selection was all reasonably priced.

Good lunch here on the EOTHO menu. Tasty food, friendly attentive service and meals came quickly despite a full house. Compliments to the Kitchen!!

What a meal we had. My first time out from shielding I was getting cabin fever it had been that long. I felt perfect in this restaurant. I was hearing a lot of great stuff from my friend jens. The scampi and chips was to die for. Best I’ve had for a long time. I opted for a sticky toffee pudding which was covered in toffee sauce clearly all home made was beautiful. Will be back soon with my dog for the outside seating area as I noticed it was dog friendly.

1st night out with my fiancé since February and wasn't disappointed. Calamari and pate were the perfect starters followed by the Roast beef special which was out of this world hats off to the chef. 2 bottles of wine later and we have already booked our next visit. Bravo nonna ginas

Went to Nonna Ginas last week with my friend who up until recently had been shielding. Intially we were a bit hesitant going to any restaurant but within a few mins of entering we felt safe as you can clearly see this establishment has taken all the necessary steps to ensure everyone's safety (hand sanitizer at door, screens, masks, one way systems)The food itself was excellent. I love Italian food and this was true italian food. Strong bold flavours and everything was fresh. The service was A+ and we will be returning again for sure.The homemae tiramisu was especially exceptional.

What a fabulous place the food is absolutely delicious a warm friendly welcome always and a credit to every member of staff well recommended .

We have never eaten here so thought we would try it with the 50% off government deal. We ordered and our starters arrived pretty quickly howerver, at this point there were lots of little flies flying around the food and seemed to keep coming no matter how many we disposed of...at this point I asked for a table change which didn't go down well and I advised we would be leaving if we were not reseated. My opinion: Plastic plants and lots of empty bottles behind the table are dust collectors. We were reseated and food was below average...frozen scampi with fries and salad isnt what you expect when paying £15.95...wouldn't return.

Rounded off a lovely day returning from the beach by popping in for dinner. Had the special (Roast Beef) which might not be everyones choice on a warm summers day but definitely hit the spot - beautiful cut of beef.I like my coffee and was impressed at the fern leaf art and even more so that it remained right to the bottom - Good job.

Back at Nonna Gina's for an early dinner for the 1st time since lockdown , we were not disappointed, all social distancing measures have been adhered to and we felt really safe. My hubby had mussels with cream and white wine to start and I had calamari fritto. We both had spaghetti pescatora for mains. It was all delizioso. We've been going here for 5 years now and never been disappointed, Gianni and all of his staff always look after us so well and the food is always delizioso. Xx

I felt Nonna Ginas had made really good screen booth adaptions to help separate different groups at dinner without feeling clinical. It felt really safe whilst still enjoyable for dinner. They have the best penne vodka and carbonara in Glasgow

We have had a couple of take a ways during lock down and they have been excellent. It was my first choice of restaurant when lock down restrictions eased and the food and service was exceptional.

Love Nonna Ginas food great staff and warm welcome. This time was our first meal out after lockdown. We were bit nervous but welcomed and reassured right away . The staff were all masked and lovely glass panels separated all the tables . Very happy to be back and will be visiting again soon

Had some takeaway from Nonna Ginas during lockdown and have been for several visits since reopening. Great friendly service and fantastic food. Felt safe as the restaurant has been tastefully adapted since reopening. Will definitely be back soon.

I highly recommend Nona Gina’s! It is the best Italian restaurant I have been in! The food is to die for! And as for the Staff... they are all so friendly and made us feel so welcome and went out or way to chat and make our first experience one to remember to the fact we returned a couple of weeks later. The staff remembered us and our name which I was amazed with! We are happy to travel the 30 miles just to have an amazing meal and enjoy the great atmosphere. Great experience : There were 26 of us, parents , children and friends. We were warmly welcomed by the manager who couldn't have done more. Good food, helpful staff, lovely athmosphere. Hope to be back.

My friend and I went in for coffee and cake.My friend's carrot cake was dry and hard so she informed the waiter who took it away and brought it back again having heated it up! It was still dry and hard so another member of staff brought a fresh piece.Not what I'd expect from any cafe restaurant although the issue was ultimately resolved.

Greeted by nice staff,who let me choose my own table as I like window seat,it’s top of the league for me when it comes to southside cuisine,I went twice last week,would have made it a hat trick but had to cancel my table last min (manager was understanding,he even rang me to ask if I was ok and would I like to rebook) which I found a classy touch

I’ve been here a few times now since moving into maiden hill. The staff go the extra mile to make your experience an enjoyable one without being intrusive. I cant fault this play in any way. So far I’ve had pizza pasta and a fish dish. All well portioned, some places seem to be giving you less and less.

We opted for here, after visiting originally With my 97 year old grandfather. Nice atmosphere for a business meeting so can’t complain. Will be back again in the future.

Usually go to miller and carter but opted for Nonna Gina’s to try something new. Had a sirloin steak with a pepper sauce, nice big onion rings which was nicer than the usual loaf I get in miller. The price aswell I was laughing in comparison. To be honest I probably will venture here instead in future. Service was very efficient for a busy Monday afternoon service.

Never had a delivery for here as they don’t do it but I phoned and asked if possible to drop us off some soup due to the bad weather. The manager personally delivered two soups for me. The extra mile they go in here. Thank you so much.

Took my wee gran for a brunch,I’m from the west end and I took her to Rouen glen park,whilst local we looked up local eateries on trip advisor and this wee hidden gem popped up

My hubby took me here for a fantastic anniversary meal It was so romantic Meal was delicious,a bottle of fizzy stuff

Parklands stay and recommended me here. Glad after eating here that I came in. Vast menu, had Caesar salad followed by a tiramisu. Was lovely the coffee soaked fingers the flavour of alcohol was just about right. Would highly recommend coming here.

Saturday night we walked in the place had loads of balloons with it being Valentine’s Day. From the welcome to the departure the visit was terrific. Mussels to start followed by chicken stroganoff. Will be back again to try various other dishes.

My sister Betty has been in here everyday since she moved to Perth so since I was visiting we came here. The manager was so charming towards us and sat down for a Chat. We just had two scones and two lattes very reasonably priced aswell. The scones were enormous. Will visit for food in the future with my sister. Thank you

Came across this place on Facebook. Steak and wine night tonight for £30 for two. Wow value. Usually go to miller and carter but because this place isn’t a chain I thought I’d give it a go as I like to support local businesses more so. The steak was cooked to perfection I usually ask for blue but I thought I’d take it rare tonight. My partner in crime had it medium well as she likes it less pink. The wine was a Sicilian one the manager was telling me which funnily enough I’ve not tried before even though been to Sicily. Usually I associate house wine with nonsense but this was nice and fruity. Had a tiramisu to share which was freshly made which is nice for a change as restaurant we go to elsewhere buys theirs in.

Why have I not been here before, from the moment I came in to the moment I left. Great menu, very varied aswell as a the staff were very chatty and friendly. Was good to try a few different things as we were stuck in what to have. We had a pizza with Parma ham, rigatoni with Italian sausage and a side of mozzarella sticks. Overall the portions were very generous. Would come back again as just moved to maiden hill the new part of newton Mearns

In for a coffee and some cakes to discuss business with a client. We chose here as looked peaceful, some places seem hectic. Reasonably priced also.

Was in today just moved from Perth, lovely friendly manager. Nice atmosphere, had a scone and a coffee will be back in more often as moved into fordyce court across the car park. Lovely thank you again

This place ticks every box. The menu is huge, the staff are lovely. I cannot recommend it anymore than I already do. I was in yesterday for a late lunch. Shared a pizza and pasta combo with my friend. Spaghetti carbonara and a pizza from the specials pizza Di Meo which were both reasonably priced. Great service aswell. The place started to fill up as we were leaving so we thought we better free up the table for them but they said there was no rush.

Fabulous Sunday night dinner - always such personal service and delicious food never disappoints. So lucky to have this restaurant on our doorstep.

Love minestrone soup, thick with a variety of veg. Tasted so authentic to that I’ve had in Tuscany when visiting with family. Service was so quick and good, will be visiting more frequent maybe for something more substantial

Lovely warm restaurant on a cold horrible windy night. Place was heaving. One table had a big balloon so the atmosphere was great when they sung happy birthday. What more can I say from start to finish we were welcomed by the manager, then given menus by the waiter mark or Marco not sure. Lovely wine selection and two courses each for us. No room for dessert. Portions such good value for money so didn’t have any room. I wish we did as seen some going past they looked incredible. The place had such a good vibe about it. Will try again soon, we usually went to another place in mearns but this place is the one for us from now on.

Poached eggs and toast, with two rashers of bacon. The eggs were perfect. Really enjoyed my coffee aswell. Service was efficient.

Took my gran of 89 in here, the staff were very friendly especially the two men in shirts who went above and beyond their service. The tea came with a tea cosy on it which immediately made my gran smile. It’s the small things that count, we had soup and a sandwich which was reasonably priced also. Lovely soup then followed by two toasted scones. Good value will definitely be back.

I took a lovely lady to this quaint place and it set us up for an ideal date,nice atmosphere,great food,the bald headed waiter,I think called mark,said they have a great Valentine’s Day menu,I’ll be back for that !! Thanks again mark for great service

Before we headed to the killie game we came here for a bite to eat as not too far to travel after. My son had the chicken burger which looked delicious, I had pasta with prawns was great. No dessert as the title said we were going for a second course. Great service.

Don’t forget the cannoli, didn’t even know it was until the waiter Marco told me about it. Very good, very tasty. Great coffee. Thank you again will be back.

I hadn't visited Nonna's in years and we didn't plan on coming here specifically. I'm so glad we did though. The soup was terrific but the crowning glory was the pollo milanese, I'm struggling for words apart from crispy, succulent, well seasoned and I could have eaten it all again. Just wonderful and they were also very accommodating to us as we had a pram with us and needed a high chair. Well done and we'll be back soon.

Just like the song, the pizza was very fitting. Beautiful atmosphere and great service. My pizza had a lovely amount of meat toppings on it. Would like to try a pasta next time.

Just been here for dinner with my partner on Saturday evening. Had a steak which I must say is the best I’ve had in the area so far and I’ve visited various places. The steak was cooked perfectly to how I required it. Thank you again to the manager serving us who out of his way to make sure we had a wonderful evening. Was in with my elderly mother of 96 for a quick coffee and a scone. The scone was lovely and fresh served with butter and jam. The flat white was Devine. Would be back again in a hurry.

My aunt christines birthday tonight. Delightful experience in a packed restaurant. The manager is very friendly with her and my grandfather and he was joking around all night with my grandfather. He said it’s been very busy which was good to hear. I had scallops from the specials followed by the pizza burger filled with pepperoni. Was too full for the dessert but the meal was spot on

Just had a meal here. Really great food, but when I called a passing waitress - the older one with the tattoos - she unexpectedly gave me such a bad attitude that it soured the whole experience. Sorry if I upset you by simply calling you, but hey, it’s your fishtank, swim in it any way you want. I suppose we all have a bad day every now and again.

My wife and I had decided to take her 92year old Mother up to the Shopping centre as it’s all on the flat and very good parking so after a couple of shops we headed to Nonna Ginas for a coffee and scone on entering it was warm and inviting shown to a seat we chose 3 flat whites which were the best I’ve tasted in a long while and nice and hot as well Scone was big and most important soft butter as well toilets clean and tidy defo recommend this place 10/10

Fantastic food, great service. Spag bolognese with sweet potato fries. The pasta was so good, would def try here again when in the area.

Took my children here for my daughters 21st birthday as she’d seen it on Instagram quite a lot. So we opted for this, we had a large table and restaurant was very busy. 2 courses each and the whole restaurant singing happy birthday was a nice touch, even the chefs banging the pans when the staff were shouting hip hip hoorah. First time I’ve ever seen such a thing on the menu anywhere I’ve ever been. A burger and a pizza combined. A mini calzone type thing stuffed with cheese, tomato sugo and burger topped with pepperoni. I didn’t even realise it came with chips on the side aswell here’s me ordering a milkshake. Still to this day since the visit I’m stuffed. Service was spot on, nice friendly staff.

Used this restaurant on seeing it on tripadvisor as a meeting with a client of mine. We booked online, seemed to have great reviews. Was kindly welcomed by the staff, given a sheet with specials on it. Good to see restaurants giving more of a choice nowadays as there is so much competition. Opted for two specials, starter of prawns and a main course of a steak. The steak was cooked perfectly. My only problem when I was there was that I never had room for dessert. Will use again when meeting the same client as too far for me to travel otherwise.

The perfect Milanese which was cooked in a pan clearly. Most restaurants nowadays tossed in the fryer. Was perfect before my game of football. Great service from Gianni

Two espresso martini’s followed by a liquer coffee which was very nice. The coffee was served in a martini glass which I thought was a nice touch to be honest. Would definitely come again for food maybe next time. Think a step too far with the other liqueur.

One of our family member regularly frequents here but it was our first visit. The menu was vast and they also had specials available. Opted for the calamari and the pan fried pollo Milanese served with spaghetti Napoli. Washed down with a glass of montepluciano which was also reasonably priced having stayed in London for a while it’s nice to see some reasonable prices when dining out. Would come back again if In the area. The food quality was better than that of any of the bigger restaurants I’ve been to in London.
