NOIR Restaurant & Lounge in Redbridge

I visited today at 9.30pm and went to the Shisha place . We were seated in the comer but the table was so dirty . I asked for it to be cleaned and the waiter comes with a dry blue tissue and wipes it down with stains all over it . He then just walked off . A waiter comes and says you order I was like not yet and then instead of taking order walks off . We both decided to walk out as the s vice was terrbile …I can’t deal with bad customer service .. if you all want to stand around chatting in the back don’t due it in your work time .

Terrible experience. The worst birthday dinner experience we had as a family. Food has given more than half the party belly aches and too many toilet visits. Bad food, over priced and customer experience not good. Food had no flavour, too costly for what it was, had to ask for part of our food as never came, some of the drinks came flat, didnt eat set meal dessert as had enough of the whole meal!!

AWFUL. Was so looking ahead to this eatery with my family. As many have pointed out, each meal came one after another with gaps of 5/10 minutes, even though I clearly mentioned I want it all together. They even served our drinks (mango lassi) once we were half way through our meal.. NUTS. They also gave us a dish we did not even order. To make things worse, they gave my child’s pasta meal last, and she was waiting and moaning all this time. Another waitress said the pasta meal was not entered by her colleague on the system ! To top things off, we ordered the pasta with chicken, and it came with no chicken, instead it came with some veg ! We returned it ! I believe the senior waitress or team leader apologised about it, and gave us a future discount card. But this is ultimately not acceptable at all, it was not even a busy evening. Such a shame.

Lovely food served creatively, great ambience, annd attentive waitress (Muskan). Just one feedback, the mocktails could have been more tasty.

We'd been put off because the restaurant doesn't serve alcohol or allow BYO but as we walked past tonight it smelt great so we thought we'd try it. We started with the Chaat Up Line for 2 which despite the slightly cringey name was an exceptionally delicious shared starter, everything you want from a chaat, sweet, sour, crunchy, spicy and delicious with the twist of a beautiful creamy burrata instead of yoghurt. I could have asked for the same again and left very happy. However, we moved on to Tandoori Rishtey, Tandoori chateaubriand with masala fries. The meat was tender and deliciously spiced , fries were coated in a lovely sauce and the portion for two, as with the starter, was pretty generous. We really enjoyed the meal it was exceptionaly good, the team were friendly and helpful and we'd go back any time for the food before and/or after a drink somewhere else. I even kind of admire the honesty of not allowing alcohol if that's what your religion dictates. Great work guys!

We had a wonderful brunch at Noir; the food was delicious. We had ‘meat at brunch’ and ‘a bit of everything’. The curries were delicious and the masala gravy was so good. The food was very flavoursome and presented well. The service was very good and all staff were very attentive. We will visit again and maybe try the main menu next time.

We successfully ignored this restaurant for months thinking (being called Noir restaurant and lounge) it was an Essexy night spot (perhaps at night that is more the vibe), but then we got the 40% off brunch offer and gave it a go. WOW! We have been missing out. This is what I would call modern Indian, with a twist on dishes you are used to, deftly put together by a kitchen that clearly knows what they are doing. Quality is A+. I got The Have it All which had chicken curry, lamb curry, chicken tikka, pilau rice and a naan. It was a huge meal and every component was fantastic. The naan was one of the best I've had, the lamb was literally fall apart tender and better than at any Indian I've ever been to, the tikka was moist, the chicken curry had a unique flavour. There was some heat (I normally like Madras hot) but it was nice to have the heat not mask the subtle layers of flavour. My wife got one of the toaasties, with an additional fried egg. The egg was sitting on top of the toast so it was hard to figure out how to eat it. The toast soon fell apart so that solved that problem as it became an open faced sandwich :) It still tasted great, but maybe we'll think about ordering that one again. The dinner menu looks unusual and delicious, as do the mocktails (this is a no alcohol restaurant, and no bring your own) so we'll be back to try all of that. Now, the staff. another WOW! From the hostess who seated us, to the waitstaff who took care of us, to the manager (owner?) who came over to talk to us, I swear this was better service than we've had at Micehelin star restaurants. Prices, IMO, are pretty high (I could see spending £50pp with drinks at dinner), but with faultless food, quality, and service, maybe it's a matter of getting what you pay for.

Great family dining experience, the staff were kind and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. We had a fantastic evening out.

I feel 3.5 is right but put 4 star since the 40% brunch soft launch was good value. Full price might not always be worth it - altho the I want it All - is the stand out dish. Rice / chicken tikka / chicken and lamb curry plus naan - all very tasty. The layered lamb / egg paratha - was a disappointment. Didn’t look like a flaky paratha but more a doughy sandwich and quite expensive full price. We had the kulfi mango waffle for dessert / very nice. Service was really good.

Me and my partner were blown away by the level of service we received from every single member of staff. The manager personally took time out to speak to us, which shows the level of attention they pay to their customers. The decor is breathtaking, chic and so modern. Definitely worth taking pictures for the gram! The food was faultless, from the presentation to the taste, to the quality of produce used. Wow!!! It’s a hidden gem! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone for food and shisha.

We went to the new South Woodford restaurant this weekend. Absolutely amazing food, presentation was fantastic. Flavours brilliant, you could taste every ingredient. We had lamb chops that melted in your mouth, beef was tender and cooked to perfection, bang bang chicken and prawns was again perfect. Small plates tasted and presented really well. The service was friendly, warm and welcoming. Can’t fault anything. Highly recommend going, we will be going again. Recommend watching their website video showing the food, makes it easy to choose what to order.

The manager one of the worst I have seen, terrible service!! Rude and arrogant. No one was in this place!! I will not be returning! Another restaurant with filthy toilets!! Do not waste your time coming here - I give this place under a year.

We booked this for a girls night out a few weeks ago. When we arrived we were seated quickly but were also very quickly told that there was no license & subsequently no wine. Now we can all go out for a nice meal and not drink, but when it’s not made clear or stated on the website it comes as a bit of a shock, however it was treated like we should have known. I checked the website whilst there and there was no mention of it having no license. We stayed, purely because we were hungry! We had to flag a waiter down to take the initial order then food just randomly appeared! No order. Over spiced, in some instances, cold food appeared randomly, we didn’t eat a lot of the food as it was wrongly over spiced but not once we’re we asked if our food was ok or why we’d not eaten it. The service was poor despite having plenty of staff hanging around. We asked for our table to be cleared twice, eventually it was and we asked for the bill to leave. Upon leaving some random man, I’m assuming the manager came up to us, not having seen him all evening & started hassling us about leaving reviews, not really the time or place for such comments, it just left a desperate taste in my mouth along with the over spiced food. I understand it’s a new restaurant but I’ve also been to enough restaurants to know how to conduct myself and I would have thought this place would have known how to do Tver considering this isn’t their first rodeo!! Really disappointed and won’t be going back in a hurry!
