I recently visited Saravanaa Bhavan and had a great experience overall. The food was absolutely authentic and flavorful.. The place was clean and well-maintained, though the ambiance is quite simple — more functional than fancy, which is fine given the focus is clearly on the food. Service was decent, though a bit slow during peak hours, which is understandable given how busy it gets

We ordered a mini tiffen with coffee and it was really nice. Totally worth a drive. Must try for those who have a big tummy. I have been to this restaurant several times and this is an additional review. Today all dosa and chutneys are exceptional and yummy.

Anusha at reception needs to learn some manners.

Worst customer service. Food was wrong twice. Waiter extremely rude. Argued with them and nothing happened.

Very bad service, food is not good, staff is very rude they didn't know how to treat their customers. They don't have enough menus they ask from customers is the menu free so they can give to next customers. Very bad service.

We came here for Brunch and Dinner and were served by Nandita who was prompt and kind. The food was amazing, so authentic to what I'm used to as a South Indian, especially the meals which were *chef's kiss* Thank you for the amazing vibes and soul food 🥰

The experience was unlike anything I felt, tasted and saw. I ascended to another dimension. The food was delicious, fresh and hot. I recommend to come here with family and friends. The naan bread slaps!

The quantity of food is getting less and less!!

I was very disappointed with the quality of the food during my recent visit. The sambar tasted off (may be spoiled ) and the rasam had no flavour at all and did not meet expectations (Not worth the money), and the overall meal was not enjoyable. I brought this to the attention of the supervisor, expecting a polite response or at least an acknowledgment of the feedback. However, instead of an apology or willingness to listen, I was met with defensiveness and was told the food was fine and that I was the only one with an issue. Good customer service means listening respectfully to feedback, even if you don’t agree. Unfortunately, the lack of professionalism made the experience even more frustrating. I hope the management takes this seriously and works on improving both the food quality and how customer concerns are handled. What made it worse is the attitude. We are paying customers nothing is being served for free and the way I was treated matters just as much as the quality of the food. Unfortunately, both were lacking. I couldn’t even finish my meal and had to leave without eating properly. I left feeling dissatisfied and frustrated. Based on this experience, I absolutely would not recommend this place to anyone, and I have no intention of coming back.

Delicious food at a good price. South Indian tastes better. In North Indian food, not everything is delicious. Reasonable rates.

We were taken here and had an amazing eating experience. The choices and variety of dishes are amazing. All dishes were very tasty. The staff were also extremely friendly and helpful. We had a lovely time thank you.

Good ambience and service but food is not worthful and as per Litharsha welcomed and given delt service and she was polite.

Food standards have gone down compared to previous visits. Today I have ordered schwan paneer the quality is substandard the onions they used tasted rotten , The flavouring sauce they used doesn't taste to the expected standards. We also ordered idiyappam the kurma provided was not fresh enough and was on the verge of spoiling , and the idiyappam served was not hot enough. Butter naan, paneer based curry dish was fine. Obviously price has been raked up. Curry dish size was very small demanding for extra orders. Ordered items sequence of delivery is totally out of sync.

I was actually a little disappointed with the food. I’ve had dosa before with coconut chutney and fell in love with it but trying it here made me not like it very much! The taste was very different but I’m not sure if that’s because it’s a vegetarian place and maybe the dosa I had before was not vegetarian. Food wasn’t bad but definitely wasn’t good! I guess you get what you pay for. The mango lassi was also not cold. Room temperature almost.

The food at this Indian restaurant is decent such as the dosa and vada, with rich flavours and well-seasoned dishes. But the Idly arrived after the main course and the mocktail was delayed also. The service was very slow, which detracted from the overall experience.

Excellent food and great service from Litharshia.

Poor service. I had to wait for 1 hr for my dosai. The rest of my family had long eaten and finished and we were waiting for my food. In the end I did not eat and I left in frustration. I requested a full waive of my bill as I had not eaten and they had ruined my family dinner. The manager offers my 35% discount! Very poor customer service and management.

Okay dosa and medu wada have had here several times

I like Saravanaa Bhavan as you get value for money. Especially in UK it’s hard to find a place where you actually get good quality plus portion. Besides it’s a family place, great service and far far better than pseudo Indian places like Dishoom which are robbing Brits off their money claiming to service India food. The ambience is also good, you can visit with family or even on a date. It’s a no jazz no hype authentic place.

This place has fallen in quality over the past 10 years. Just came for a meal and there was a cockroach on our table. I would not recommend coming here unless u want contaminated food. Needs to be sorted out by management asap.

Great Restaurant. And the place is always full and the order takes a little longer. But the quality is as good as what you would get in Chennai. It's a savior for people like me who don't know cooking. Highly recommend all South Indian folks to visit this restaurant. The service from Akshita was very good. She was kind enough to get me extra cups of Sambar. Ilford has changed a lot over the last 3 to 4 years, many new South Indian restaurants have been opened but in terms of taste nothing comes closer to this restaurant.
