Standard but tasty South Indian food restaurant with great service

food was okay We just noticed that when we ordered masala dosa, The potato feeling inside was (half) The people next Table they ordered same masala Dosa, And I could see the filling inside was far too much then ours. What a Bonus

Great Restaurant. And the place is always full and the order takes a little longer. But the quality is as good as what you would get in Chennai. It's a savior for people like me who don't know cooking. Highly recommend all South Indian folks to visit this restaurant. The service from Akshita was very good. She was kind enough to get me extra cups of Sambar. Ilford has changed a lot over the last 3 to 4 years, many new South Indian restaurants have been opened but in terms of taste nothing comes closer to this restaurant.

Me and my partner came here for the first time and ordered the Rasa Vadha, Mysore Dosa and the Puri Masala. The food came out very quick and tasted amazing ! We were served by Akshita who was very polite and prompt with her service! The only issue I had was that we were sitting not far from the toilets which we could smell a bit off every now and then. It wasn’t a pleasant experience but apart from that everything else was great! I would come here again but I would choose to sit far away from the toilets. 😂

Ive never tried vegetarian food, But today i went there and manager offer me chilli paneer with mango lassi, It is totally fantastic, after eating that i am now in a state of mind of leaving non vegan food. Excellent service and excellent food

I would not recommend ordering from Saravanabhavan via Uber. We ordered three dosas, but the Uber driver only delivered two. When I called Saravanabhavan to complain, they were unhelpful. They claimed they double-checked the order and refused to fulfil the missing dosa. The woman who answered the phone seemed to believe we were lying in an attempt to get a free dosa. Unfortunately, this experience was very unprofessional. Never order again.

The food was brought hot, and the serving size was great! We all left full with some leftover food packed. All the staff was great, and a big shout out to Litharsha for the warm, friendly service. Would recommend

I went to Ilford on 25/03/2025 on the occasion of my daughter's birthday and had breakfast at Saravanna Bhavan. The food served by Vivek Sharma ji was very tasty and delicious. Apart from this, Vivek Sharma ji also helped me in cutting my daughter's birthday cake, I would like to thank him. Excellent and wonderful place to eat. Highly recommended for delicious food.

Food was good as always but what I like the most is Litharsha, who I think currently joined there as I saw her for the first time. For the first time I saw someone having smile on their face otherwise always all the staff is very busy n hardly look at you but she was really friendly, helpful and nicest. I think there should be more people like her. For the first time I got customer service here.

Overall good nice food and environment. Litharsha took our order with welcoming smile and good customer skills which I think other team members lacks there. Happy to see that in that busy environment she still offering warm welcome which I think good for customer as it make them feel valued.

I had an amazing dining experience at Saravana Bhavan. A special shoutout to our server, Ashkita, who was incredibly attentive and warm. She made sure we had everything we needed and provided excellent recommendations as her friendly service truly elevated the experience. If you're looking for a place that serves incredible vegetarian South Indian cuisine with great hospitality, Saravana Bhavan is a must-visit!

My daughter bought in food from out side that she wasn’t even eating and I explained this to one of the staff members but they still kept complaining to us, this is was very rude

Everything was good but the briyani was extremely spicy and we informed the staff they said it is North Indian briyani so it would be spicy Extremely spicy briyani rest everything was too good

The place itself is very hit-and-miss, hence giving it 3 stars. I’ve been many times in the past and the food has been great, but it’s gone increasingly downhill, in terms of both portion size and taste. The chill paneer used to have more flavour, and you used to get more, but both have reduced significantly. I guess flavour does depend on who is cooking it. My favourite is the onion rava masala dosa, and I’ve ordered it many many times over the last 10 years, but last night it had no taste and my mum’s was half raw that we had to send it back. Both my dad and I had time to finish ours and she still hadn’t got hers, so it was very poor service. We had to keep asking about 5 times! Again, flavour has to do with who is making it, but even the ingredients have changed. They used to add cashews and now we don’t get any in it. They’re making things cheaper while putting prices up. I’m not sure I’ll continue to visit if it stays like this.

We expect lot because we will go regularly Saravana bhavan in my country with same expectations we came here its totally failed

Passed this restaurant many times, always busy. Went for an early lunch, had Chlli Paneer & the Gobi 65 (Cauliflower) dish with Nan which were both very tasty. Waitress was very patient with us and explained different dishes. Good value for money.
