Low quantity overall and no seconds for curries especially in thali meals means they are gradually going down. The time to prepare dishes are also extreme and if you go in as a group some members will still be waiting while other's have finished their food.

Rubbish Dosa....the Mysore Masala Dosa was 7 pounds...the dosa was not crisp at all and the waitress said thats the way it is meant to be....who is she telling this to...I have eaten dosa longer than her age....Please DO NOT GO TO SAVARNA BHAVAN !!

I ordered from my home They gave spoiled Biriyani, and not picking my call.

Service and atmosphere is fine, but food was not tasty just hot/spicy. I like spicy food but this was not nice just felt as if chilli was added and not really cooked to be part of the dish. I ordered a thali which is a mixture of dishes.

Sarwana Bhawan is a vegetarian restaurant. This is located ilford. This is best for vegetarian people. Vegetarian people visit this restaurant and enjoy delicious food.

Wow I really enjoyed tye ghee masala dosa, medhu sambhar and patisa mithaai😋 Thanks for delicious cuisine. But music was saxophone playing in the background. It would be better atmosphere if they played traditional classical indian music😄

Our favourite place for South Indian comfort food

I had very bad experience , I can with guest and they served wrong order , and for correct order they took almost 45 minutes. For those 45 minutes no one came to clarify or offer their apologies for the wrong order. It is not the service I have to pay for. Even food was not that good , Sambhar was half field in the bowl and no one bothered to offer refills.

As usual lovely South Indian food, consistent taste. Special Diwali sweets on sale .

Our regular spot, and it never fails us, we’ve always had a 6/5 experience here. The food is fantastic! The service is quick and they’re very attentive even at their busiest. Thanks to the team of Saravana Bhavan Ilford.

A big fan of Saravana Bhavan, love their food. Was craving for Idly vada and when I went there, felt like gulping on everything on the menu. I was attended by Nandhitha. She was so sweet to give the confused me a wise suggestion on what to eat :) There was a Pakistani old woman having masala dosa for the first time and was curious to know what I was having. I have recommended her to try them out. She said she would definitely visit in two days to try out other dishes :D

Brilliant. Friendly atmosphere. Yes it was last year. But its very different after the covid lock downs. Less staff means less attention to the customer and to what they need. I have stopped going. Using Taste of India in East ham now.

Pure vegetarian delight. Authentic South Indian delicacies... finished with a cup of filter coffee.

Food was nice but service wqas delay. Waitress experience is not good. I visited 2 times when I asked to recommend any noodles or manchuria they recommend me hakka noodles I asked them to make less spicy she forget to send when I asked her it's spicy she said I forgot to send and she brought me some sweet sauce when I used that noodles taste is totally changed I didn't eat anything . I recommend you to go for food if u have idea about dishes but never ask them any recommendation.

Last night we visited this was place with our friends and family, had the poorest experience. The food was late, served kids drinks,but glasses came 20 mins later , ordered items were forgotten and they started serving some yellow soup instead of sambhar. This was our nth visit to the place, as much as we like South Indian we won't be returning to the place. The food items had finished at 9:30 pm where they remain open till 11 pm. And they were serving alternative without mentioning and upon questioning the staff was quite rude saying this is what we have. And how we should have complained when they have given alternative food condiments. All in all average food , rude staff and poor service.

I had very good food in this place. It is famously for South Indian cuisines. That's actually true. It is quite good. Very near to what you get in India. The reason why I have given 3 stars is because suddenly the Sambhar finished and they had no more Sambhar to serve with the pre-ordered food. They brought Ghee Idly 14 with Sambhar without it and said that sambhar will come after 1/2 hour. This was very unusual and uncomfortable. I didn't like this at all. They were gracious enough to cancel the ordered but it spoiled my overall experience. I hope it doesn't happen again.

Very bad, i ordered Hakka Noodles, and they served it bland. Quantity was so small and the food was cold, as if it was microwaved from the top and cold in the bottom

Worst experience ever time I come here. They do very bad service and the coffee is served without sugar and when asked they gave us after 10mins and coffee was cold till then.

Excellent food and service. Dharam was very attentive and considerate the blind member of our party. Would highly recommend. Visited on 5th September 2024. Will be back soon!

The food quality was extremely poor. The dishes were overly greasy, with oil spilling from the plate onto the table. When I requested a regular tea, the waiter told me they only serve masala tea, which turned out to be tasteless, just milk with a hint of masala. I wouldn't recommend this place because the food is not fresh, and the staff, particularly Dharman, was very rude.

We ordered many dishes, out of which Gobi 65, mango lassi and paneer dosa was good. Otherwise quality and taste of masala dosa, chana bhatura and schezwan noodles was not great. Rasam was too salty. I admire that we had little corner for our whole family. This time service was quick and good. We have been here plenty times but after eating this time, looks like we need to look for some other place for south Indian food.

I buy the sweets in this shop and when I open the box so bad smell inside the sweets fungus , so I suggest everyone please check. The sweet properly than buy ,, because it's dangerous for everyone health.

These people are not giving thing like if we say can you pack this they give it to us what kind of people are they they expect us that we’re the chief and we do the packing and there’s this guy with glasses next to us and sitting next to his mum and in front of his mum is his sister and the guy with the glasses keep staring at us he was looking at us while we were eating and when we’re talking still he is not stop looking at us non stop

They always get the order wrong with me. It’s all managed so poorly. Maine come before starters, combined dishes come separately so one gets cold before the other arrives. Naan came 10mins after the curry.

INSECTS, HAIR and SPILLED FOOD - DANGER TO HEALTH I Absolutely appalling experience ordering from Saravanaa Bhavan Ilford. Ordered a North Indian Thai, 3x Masala Dosas and one spicy cheese Dosa via Deliveroo. Upon opening the bag, it was FLOODED with the daal soup from the thali, and the masala dosas had been crushed. - see photo attached HUMAN HAIR was also found in one of the sauces - see photo attached. INSECTS were also present in the packaging of one of the dosa - see photo attached As a result of this we had to throw away the food and will be taking legal action. DISGUSTING AND VILE.

Do not order juice over here they add so much sugar which is absolutely not good for health request all the family do not get juice for your kids sugar sugar

I went to this restaurant today , I had a soup and dosa everything was very nice a plus the service was very good , very reasonable prices . the waitress who served me was so kind , thank you so much I hope to come back soon !

We dined around 10 PM and were pleasantly surprised by the swift delivery of our orders. The food was delicious and authentic, making for a delightful dining experience. The kid-friendly menu was a bonus for families with children.

Worst restaurant in terms of delivery. Restaurant can't manage its deliveries. They are taking on more than they can handle. Restaurant should be stopped from taking on orders if they cannot deliver anything on time. Really poor service from the management.

Sambhar wada and coffee as usual excellent. Was surprised the pototoes in masala dosa was a bit undercooked.

Sound Indian thali is spicy and taste is reduced. Thali is not up to the mark. Take away time is more than 25 mins. Why can’t you reduce the take away time?

Fantastic South Indian restaurant. Must visit in Ilford. No parking. But we can park in the exchange Mall car park which is at a walkable distance

Its always crowded bit worth the money

Definitely amongst the top Indian restaurants on the east side of London, purely in terms of food quality, variety and taste. The area around is sketchy but that’s hardly any fault of the business as such. Parking is a pain but your best bet would be to park nearby Exchange Mall parking. Food was fabulous - South Indian, Indo Chinese, North indian and the prices were very reasonable. Great service and ambiance too even while it was bit crowded for my personal taste.

I went there yesterday lunchtime and was very disappointed that they had full spread of menu but hardly any choice of gluten free meals or snacks. The only option was vegetable Biriyani or idly. Also non of the menu was marked with allergy intolerance meals. I thought it was illegal !!!

Greatly welcoming all the diverse people, families and children of the world 🤗 peacefully in a vegetarian environment 💐🌴🍎🥑🍉💕🍈 Ilford service and crowd were softer and nicer when compared ( Wider comfortable space management) to East Ham branch of Saravanaa Bhavan ! East Ham branch runs just because of wider popularity of the chain of Restaurants, but not because of the taste and Quality of food and service. Food also is smoother and tastier at the Ilford branch when compared to East Ham.

I have been regular customer and food was excellent but since few months the food is getting spicier and spicier Today none of us could eat sambhar or chutneys I had reported this repeatedly to the manager to have options as mild/spicy but it looks like they don’t care

We came for a birthday meal and one of our members meal came an hour late, everyone had finished eating by the time the final meal came. When we asked to remove that item from the bill the restaurant refused. It was only £6.25 meal, and they forced the waiter to pay for it instead! Absolutely disgusting behaviour. The waiters are treated like trash and so are their guests. Would not recommend eating at this restuarant in ilford.

We ordered a mini tiffen with coffee and it was really nice. Totally worth a drive. Must try for those who have a big tummy.

We ordered cauliflower Manchurian, dosa and channa bhatura...The food is average but the boy who served us food he not give the proper service..he just put food on the table.... The culinary experience was rather underwhelming, lacking in flavor and overall quality. Our journey from Swindon to ilford resulted in significant disappointment with the standard of the food. On a positive note, the service was commendable, and the ambiance was pleasant.

This is my local saravanna bhavan And I have always been eating and ordering here. Normally I find it a really great place for dining. But recently, I ordered a veg kurma And they gave it with good service, but I was shocked to find rottened vegetables and cauliflower in the kurma. Please make a solution for this.

The focus in this food seems to be on the carbs. A big stainless steel platter with bread having pride of place and 2 tablespoons of dhal, Spread over 2 section on the platter. I'm not joking I can't have been more than 2 tablespoons of dough so if you're starving you're going to have to rely on the bread to fill you up. The chickpea curry was tasteless and overwhelming spice was the chili. My companions had the spicy rice. This was over spiced. I honestly don't know why this gets so busu because I thought the food was really mediocre, and the portions really stingy. (Apart from the bread of which there is much to cover up the fact you're gonna be hungry).

Not suggested to go because they are not treating us we waited for 20 min but they gave preference who comes next .bad experience

The service is poor, we understand it’s a busts time but they allowed everyone else who came later than us and the response is bad when we checked why this is happening.

An authentic Legend from India 🇮🇳. Go here for superb dosas and popular Indian vegetarian curries. Do finish your meal with a small cup of strong Indian masala tea. Staff are super efficient and non intrusive. Prices very reasonable. Definitely worth the 100mile round trip.

Service needs to improve, I was upstairs on my numerous occasions and there has only been one person serving for a full upstairs, I told the manager, I told the manager again about sending help for his worker, and he eventually sent help, to improve in future just have a support system for workers in place for the upstairs eating area as it reduces pressure on the workers and they don't crack under pressure.

The food has deteriorated massively from last visit. I have been frequently having consistent food, that’s one thing I used to like about this place. Sambhar vada was served at room temperature and was not soft at all. Naan and malai kofta had a very different taste than usual. Updated review as quality has improved back.

Indian cusines restaurant ,lot of variety from different parts of India. Good service,good authentic taste and reasonable rates. authentic south indians dishes and Punjabi dishes.good responsive and quick service. Parking is bit difficult.I have tried Sarvvana restaurants in US and Dubai . Standards are very well maintained and I feel the local people other than Indians , Asian all like the food very much therefore it is always full and need to wait to get the table. That's the sucess.
