Great food, helpful and friendly staff, an all round winner. If you fancy fish and chips there really isn't anywhere better!

Although the food is good the last few weeks the chips have not impressed it's almost like they are from lunch time or pre cooked, starting to concider other alternatives

Chips have gone downhill. Old and brown and cooked yesterday. Prices have gone up. Portions have gone down. Awful now. Used to be really nice but obviously cutting corners now. Fish and batter still good but far too expensive and you'd have to go somewhere else for the chips

Large portion of chips was ridiculously small.

I went in and asked for 2 battered sausages, chips and a pot of curry sauce, they firstly forgot the curry sauce which meant I had to go back in to ask for some, once i thought the problem was sorted, I realised they completely forgot our chips, which meant we had to waste more of our time to go back and ask for them. Dreadful service, and the food was bang average

Just purchased my fish and chip lunch. It was ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. Purchased at 12.20pm I would have thought everything would have been freshly cooked. However, this is what I found.....fish hard and very dry, chips looked old, poor quality little bits of potato's used, lots of black bits, dry and I am sure they were last nights leftovers refried, they were discusting. I didn't eat more than two mouthfuls. I gave it to the dogs. I wished I'd thought to just take it back to them. I will NEVER buy from Noggins again. Update: They have lost 9 customers so far because of this faux pad

I’ve been here a few times and have had nothing but positive experiences. The last couple of times I’ve been, I was served by a younger female. I asked the first time I encountered her for a chicken kebab. She put only charred waste meat and hid it under the salad. It was inedible. The last time was tonight (30/03/2024) The same woman/girl served me, she asked if I wanted salt and vinegar, I specified only salt, I turned to order drinks and pay and my son witnessed her dousing vinegar all over our order, before wrapping so tightly the food was mush when we got back. I think I’ll be going elsewhere for a while, or at least until she is gone. I am always kind, bubbly and respectful. This is not acceptable.

Writing this review in anticipation of my upcoming visit from my home in Orlando, Florida. I'm sure my fish & chip dinner here will be awesome.

Best fish and chip shop in nailsea. Owner is a really nice dude, and their kebabs are honestly the best I've ever tasted, plus my daughter goes mad for their milkshakes

Very good fish and chips and not a long wait at about 6 pm on Saturday. Can't say better than that.

Great food . Fish was freshly prepared and chips tasty. very quickly served. I had pie and chips that was perfect.

Stopped off for lunch break during our day. Cod with chips were very nice, good quality, and nicely cooked . The size of the fish was a little on the small side but was ok for us as it was just a quick lunch stop. Would definitely use it again, but maybe not if we were proper hungry.

Monday 7th August. Bought cod and chips and a pie and chips. Absolutely Beautiful cooked to perfection. Good portions 10 times better than the high Street chippy! Steve and Nikki Thorogood

Update on the review below: Too expensive as curry sauce is now £2.70 and has gone up by £1.10 in six months and the other food prices are astronomical and portions smaller! I won’t be going again! The old review: Noggins Fish and Chip shop in Nailsea is great but needs a tip box for the lovely staff!!! I did a bad review of this chip shop years ago, but now believe it’s extremely good and so I’ve deleted my old review!! The chips are lovely and so the sausages and fish and the milkshakes are lovely!! Unfortunately I’m now vegan so can only have the lovely chips and curry sauce!! Not that I regret going vegan it’s the best thing I’ve done!! 😭🙂 My only complaint is that there’s no tip box for the amazing staff, who work extremely hard and are exceptionally polite and professional, that’s all of them!! I’d be very happy to be able to reward their fantastic service and am sure many other customers feel the same!! 🙂

The chips and curry sauce mmmmmm

Large Cod, chips, curry sauce and mushy peas all cooked to perfection. Fish was brilliant white and moist, coated in a light crispy bater. Chips were cooked just right, fluffy inside and a little crisp on the outside. Curry sauce nice and tasty and not runny. Mushy peas were also tasty, not runny and were the correct colour green. The ladies serving were pleasant and very helpful. All in all a very good meal. Thank you guys.

Went some months ago - awful - dried-up fish and chips. Went again when quite busy. Got them to reluctantly cook some fresh cod rather than the big heap of pre-cooked. Fish was good, although heavy, thick batter, but chips again awful - dry and hard. Obviously had cooked a huge batch some time before. Not wasting £10 again.

This is my local chip shop. When arriving at 6pm there was alot of customers waiting inside and outside the door. a 20minute wait just to get inside the chip shop,... I asked why there is such a long wait! Was replied with " waiting for chips " I then said "this is a chip shop, how can this happen when you have lot's of fish and pie's etc stacked up...but no chips? I spoke to the owner, Mr. Noggin... He just said, go somewhere else!

Great, established chippy in the older part of town, that's been around since I was a lad. Good selection and friendly, quick service. Top notch.

Very popular chippie and I can see why!! As a veggie I would recommend the veggie burger as the best choice and the salad boxes are great, though more veggie choices in future would be amazing. This place also makes *(big claim coming!!) The best garlic mayo I have ever tasted!

Been using Noggins for over 30 years now. As good today as it always has been! Crisp chips and even crispier batter. Tasty fish and blow out Donners. All at competitive prices.

I live close by and occasionally visit noggins. So this review is based on experience over a long period of time and not on a one off visit. Food, whether you have fish n chips or a Kabab, the quality of the food is on the whole excellent. We have friends coming from Weston-super-Mare specifically for a Noggins because they can’t find better there. The fish is moist with a golden crispy batter, the chips are crisp n plentiful and the potato is soft and fluffy. If you Want chips with your kabab then you do need to order them separately, no hardship just place your order for the kabab and then queue for the chips 9 out of 10 times you will be back before the kabab is ready, if you are not the staff are friendly and will keep you kabab warm for you.If you have had a one off bad experience then I suggest you give noggins another try because it’s the best around.

Every time we have visited the food has been hot and tasty. Never had a bad experience. Staff very friendly and always excellent service.

I have been coming here on and off for the last 3 years, no problems with the food at all other than stingy portion size when it comes to the chips. within these 3 years countless of times orders have been messed up only to drive half way across town to find out and have to go all the way back due to a lack of competency for putting food in paper. I was the only in the store this time, asked what for my order, looking directly into my eyes and yet unable to manage remembering 3 fish and chips, some how the 3rd never made it into the bag.

Backwards ordering. Waited 7 mins for kebabs to be done (thats fine) she tried to take the money after they were ready, i said id like a bag of chips as well. Was told id have to wait different que for chips! (The que was now going out the door!) So kebabs went under the hot plate while i waited a further 8 mins for the que to go down for a 2 quid measly handful of over cooked chips! No signs to say to order chips and kebabs separately. So what should have been a quick trip turned into 15 mins of my life ill never get back! The kebab girl could have easily got me some chips as i wasn't aware you had to order in 2 different places but nope she made me get in line. (There was no one there when i walked in) and no one else behind me waiting for a kebab. The only way i can see to do it is take 2 people in... one waits for kebabs and one waits for chips! Ball ache! Its one establishment so should all order at the same till ! Would not reccomend at all! Edit- ordered sausage and chips delivery during lock down. The battered sausage was dripping with grease i couldn't eat it...every bite was a mouth full of grease! Gross! Definitely done with this establishment now.

I'm afraid your customer service from some stuck up girl who serv food in there is totally not acceptable .The girl takes the Mickey in front of her friends out of people with learning difficulties and this girl has just awarded you a 1 star well done .

Ordered fish and chips to be delivered and it arrived after 10 minutes. Wonderful food and such a great help in this difficult time, thank you so much to the staff when so many places are closed

Recommended chippy. Very quick. Amazing tasting. Keep an eye on opening times as have been closed at times that I would have expected them to be open. Amazing tho!!

Livia told me that chicken had to be cooked like this and that customers liked their chicken "Crispy" Mr Noggin obviously doesn't value my custom....he didn't call back when arranged by Livia. Please look at photo below ..I call this incinerated!

Best fish a chips in nailsea. Very clean polite staff. Food is great.10/10 Parking can be a bit tight as.it gets very busy. I can recomend the curry sauce with chips very good. 😊😊😊

If you are a lover of chip shops you must try this one You will not be disappointed The haddock is my favourite, worth waiting a few minutes while it's cooked fresh to order 10/10

Food was ok, but order was prepared wrong had to go back to get the extra portion they missed, they then told us they never charged us so had to back home to get money and make a third trip, poor customer service seeing as they made the mistake in taking the order in the first place. Only went as Nailsea fish bar was closed, wont make that mistake again!

they have no reguard for the well being of the potatoes they are brutally mutilating innocent potatoes to make "chips". disgusting! good fish tho

This is such a lovely old English fish and chip shop. The staff are all local and really friendly. They've been in business and we all go back there for the service! There's other fish bars around but this trumps them all for service.

Fish and chip shop tucked away on the backroads of Nailsea but well worth the trip good value and good service I advise that you order fish to be cooked to order to ensure that it is at it's best ,the same with most fish bars
