My partner and I came to Plymouth for an event at the Pavilion. We wanted to eat lunch before it started and stumbled across this gem of a pub. It was very busy on a sunny Saturday afternoon, but Ellie, who served us, was fantastic! I have had surgery, so I require a very specific diet, and Ellie and the kitchen staff couldn't have done more to accommodate my requirements. Thank you!

Went in on Wednesday night. Karaoke. Was a great atmosphere. Had dinner which was good and delicious. Great value for money. Steve was very attentive and good laugh. Dan was also friendly and professional. Definitely recommend visiting. Will be back.

Came in yesterday and had a enjoyed my time was a great atmosphere but this was mainly down to the bar man he was from Scotland I think and he was a really funny bloke knew what he was doing and made me think I would want to come back again people like him make a pub top bloke

So we thought we would pop in for a quick beer at dinner time but we met big Steve the Celtic fan ( hahaha) he kept us there all night with his banter and we didn’t even think about going anywhere else.. there are 20 of us working here for next 6 months and because of his banter this is now our local…. Boys a legend and sorry about the Celtic joke 😂

Went in for the football not knowing karaoke was on at same time, thought it would be an issue but the big lad Steve went out his way to sort us out. We’ve been here 3 weeks as contractors And only just found this place. Now this is our pub every day for next 3-4 months.. cheers Steve your a legend

What can I say , we went out for lunch and decided to pop into the Noah’s Ark , we had a mixed grill , burger and chips and dessert. The food was cooked beautifully. The service was fab we even had table service which was good as we didn’t have to leave our table . They were showing lots of sport with sound . They were busy but still made time to serve everyone. The staff were really nice and helpful . The prices were reasonable . I would highly recommend this pub to everyone

Shane is an amazing barman who is an excellent mixologist. His shots were second to none Steve is also a great man who provides a great atmosphere. Well worth a visit.

Visited here a couple of times whilst visiting Plymouth. Its in a convenient place in the middle of town with normal pub grub that was served promptly & tasted good. Staff were super friendly on both occasions- special mention to Paris who went above & beyond helping my parents. We will be back!

This is an amazing local pub; the food is such great value for money, the staff are all lovely, there are so many screens to watch all kinds of sport and they have a pool table! Definitely recommend this venue to many different people as it caters for everyone

Had a cracking time at the Noah's ark. Went in for drinks with friends . Great selection of drinks . Menus on tables which offered cocktails. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We had a laugh with them . Would come back again

Tell you what, this is definitely amazing value. We had chicken wings, chicken tenders and Doritos nachos that we shared as a starter. All 3 for 9.99. Wow. Then we had a cheese and bacon burger that came with chips and a soft drink in it's normal price of 7.99. Quite frankly the food was great, lovely taste to all and presented very well. The value and what you receive is quite frankly outstanding add this to friendly staff and TV for sport, it's literally a recipe for success. We will definitely be going here again when next in the city. Fantastic.

Después de un paseo por Plymouth, vi este pub de una calle principal y decidí probarlo. Hubo un partido de fútbol con una pantalla "grande" y el lugar era agradable y tranquilo con los clientes concentrados en el partido. Había una buena selección de cerveza y elegí una cerveza real que me recomendaron y a un precio bajo. Estaba bien cuidado y muy bueno.

Ordered food at the pub for my family of 4 and the quality was low, the food that we ordered was suppose to be enough to feed the 4 of us but it barely fed 2 of us. We’ve now had to leave there and get more food elsewhere. Overall extremely disappointing!

Vinimos aquí para la cena de Navidad de nuestros grupos porque estaban haciendo comida tradicional.La comida era deliciosa y el personal de la cocina era excelente cuando se trataba de lidiar con problemas dietéticos. El servicio fue rápido, a pesar de que el pub estaba bastante ocupado y me encanta el hecho de que no te apresuran en tu comida. Mucho tiempo para ponerse al día con amigos.Nuestra cena fue de 3 platos, a un precio muy razonable, y nos dieron galletas y sombreros de Santa para que fuera una fiesta. Las bebidas también son bastante razonables y tienen algo para todos.Una experiencia realmente agradable. Se lo recomendaría a cualquiera, especialmente porque el personal es muy servicial y hará cualquier cosa para mantener a la gente feliz, incluso a los más incómodos.

Fuimos a almorzar después de una mañana de compras con un amigo. Elegimos tener 2 por 1 menú y comimos huevos y papas fritas con guisantes. Como tengo alergia al cerdo, el gerente y el personal fueron muy serviciales y me cocinaron 2 huevos y pusieron el gammon en el plato de mi amigo asegurándose de que no hubiera estado cerca de mi comida. No podría desear un mejor servicio. La comida estaba caliente y el personal atento. Vamos a comer allí de nuevo.

No te rías, pero mi esposa y sus amigas fueron a cenar a Navidad en noviembre. Aunque no es el primer lugar en el que pensarías para la cena de Navidad, la oferta promocional les dio propina, básicamente 3 platos para 10 y un vaso de gaseosa. Todas las personas disfrutaron de la comida y la elección y, aunque fueron los únicos clientes que cenaron en Navidad, disfrutaron de la noche.

Went with friends for a pre-theatre meal.We have now been twice recently.Food is very good value for money taking account of the deals that are offered.Staff are excellent and very helpful. Good range of beers. We have decided to continue going here for early evening meals in preference to the Bank and Slug and Lettuce.

Was just looking for some decent food and a drink when we came upon this place. We ate here twice and really enjoyed it. My husband is English and rarely is able to get pub food in the States, so I like to treat him when we visit. He had the mixed grill twice! Saying it was one of the best he had tasted in quite some time. I had a burger one night and a chicken sandwich the other night and really enjoyed both.Cheap and cheerful - don't expect upscale. We both ate (with included drink) for under 20 pounds. The food was hot, tasty and plentiful.

The full English is reasonably priced at 4.79 (good sized portion) and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. Staff were very friendly and efficient (food came within 10 minutes), especially the young lady with (very) yellow hair and the gentleman on the bar with glasses. Would definitely recommend.

Since my last review I have managed to visit here twice . It's not easy getting into Plymouth as often as we would like to drink when living in Ivybridge. Sadly life and work gets in the way.

Not impressed with this place at all now because every time we go in here and order pints of larger we never get a full pint! It is always about a centimetre or more down from the top of the pint glass?

We love this place, visit here every time we go to the theatre (which is 2 minutes away) the bar staff are really friendly the beer good and very reasonably priced. It's a pub with a warm, friendly atmosphere and great staff.

Went in today and had Wednesday special, pie was a slice of frozen pie and was tangy, frozen peas, that's ok dont expect fresh, but instant mash? Not happy with that, you could tell before you even tasted it, vile powdery rubbish, wont bother again

I went with my boyfriend to watch England and Ireland and it was a great screen to watch sports on, spacious and comfy. Bar staff were friendly and served promptly. Yes a great venue all round.

I visited earlier this month with some friends, the staff were extremely polite and helpful, with nothing being too much trouble, our food was served promptly and was delicious. There was a varied menu to choose from. The atmosphere in the pub was light hearted and fun with lots of laughter and enjoyment to be heard.

Lived in Plymouth all of my life, never been in here before. Was in my wheelchair and noticed the step outside and was almost about to chance our minds when one lovely, polite member of staff brought and ramp, and helped with the doors! The inside of this establishment is beautiful, and the welcome was amazing. We were told the food would be about a 20 minute wait, it was less than that but totally worth any wait! Fresh, hot,very filling and extremely tasty food. We all had different meals and we all felt the same too. Excellent value for money. You would not leave anything other than 100% satisified, if you chose this place to eat at.

Went here for a lunch date with two friends. The menu is very varied and the service good. We didn't have to wait long for our food, ideal if you're restricted for time.

We went here for dinner on a late night Christmas shopping night. We'd forgotten European football was on, so it was a little noisy, but once we tuned it out, it was fine. The food is cheap, good portion sizes, well cooked and tasty. We had the gammon steak, mixed grill, and mac and cheese with pulled chicken and chorizo. All were delicious, and great value. The gammon was super salty, but the chargrilling negated some of the saltiness. The only issue was the fried eggs being a little overcooked, but, when the rest of the meal was so good, it was a small niggle. Definitely going back!

I tried out this pub with my mother in the most unusual of circumstances. I always like a big hearty meal before having any form of body art done so we went to the Noah's Ark pub after a prior recommendation. It was early so we decided to try out the breakfast menu. I had a full English Breakfast with a pint of lemonade. Meanwhile, mother tried the bacon sandwich with a pot of tea. Well, when my breakfast arrived, i had two of everything so I was extremely impressed. A good range of accompanying condiments and delicious all the way. Mum enjoyed her sandwich and tea and said to me "we should definitely come back and try their lunchtime menu.

Went here for late lunch while in Plymouth and we were so glad that we chose this pub. The friendliness was excellent, it was clean even though it was packed because of the live rugby. The food was superb, fish and chips and mixed grill, which was so well presented and very hot. Good selection of wines and beers. Will definitely recommend and return.

we went had a good meal in the noahs ark there was plenty of choices. we feel the member of staff who brought the meals could of had better customer service skills rather than lean between me and another guest to give a jacket potato to third guest he could of come to one side. also we do not like the fact that smokers are allowed to block the door when we tried to exit we had to ask them to move and walk though there smoke which we dont like as we are non smoker the pasty would of been better oven heated than microwaved

El personal era agradable y muy servicial. La gente era amable, sal de la gente de la tierra. Nos adaptamos a la derecha aquí. Gran Menú, comida barata. Las comidas eran muy buenas. Volvería de nuevo aquí. (quizás en nuestro camino de vuelta de Cornwall. )

The management has changed on numerous occasions at The Noahs over the years and is much more nicer than of late due to the politeness and friendliness of their bar staff. Drinks are cheaper and food is hot, tasty and reasonably priced. I understand there is going to be a change in the menu so cant wait to try. There is a separate area to eat away from the hubbub of locals. But don't let that put you off from drinking there as they mostly seem a friendly bunch, in paticularly a guy named Ross with his impromptu singing. They have sports TV, a darts board and a pool table . This pub is a bit worse for wear and does need painting and decorating but the atmosphere is great. The toilets need a revamp also but there is a disabled toilet (one step up)where a baby changing unit is also in situ(ladies). If you're after a nice drink, meal and catchup this is the place for you.

First visit to the pub. Very central, just off Royal Parade. Great food and drink at a very reasonable price. Food was served quickly and enjoyed by all. A good choice of menu with different meal deals offering good pub food. Well worth a visit!

Have been drinking in this establishment for 15 years on and off, management has changed hands a fair few times but it's the same old punters!Cheap and cheerful larger at £1.99 a pint food used to be fairly decent but haven't eaten in there for a while mainly just get drunk.. well why else would you go to a boozer!!Not for the fainthearted can be rowdy at times.

Every time i visit this particular pub ( and I've been in a few locally) I get good service, great food and excellent value for money. My only gripe will be the lack of car-parking as the council's car park at rear of premises is disabled only, but thats not the pub's fault! They provide sports on the big screen in the evening, and even have a pub-theatre upstairs every Wednesday!If you get a chance to go there (and can get a table) do take someone with you. After all shouldn't you go in two by two at the Noah's Ark?

Just came back from here. I went with my husband and our 4 children. Food was exceptional ! Have already booked for next time. Great food deals and the staff couldn't do enough for us. The price for a main and drinks for all 6 of us was £35 that was with sides as well. Kids eat free 1 per 1 adult meal. Just lovely

Very cheap food. Decent bacon and sausage baps with tea and coffee. Nothing fancy and the decor isn't the best but don't be put off. If you are after a quick, decent bite to eat with little time, come here.

My wife and I both active pensioners and have often popped in for a meal when visiting Plymouth.However not any more after the last experience of a group of youngsters who should be recruited for the Jeremy Kyle show.The five or six group were sitting nearby and were quite volatile until suddenly one man stood up to knock over a table sending glasses flying and sent another table over on his way out.A young girl shouted foul language after that and the floor looked like a war zone.My leather jacket hanging on a chair was covered in beerand shards of glass everywhere.The pub serves good value food but they should monitor the customers in future or they will lose more business.

visited here, last week , food good value and good choice of food, real ale good lager warm, at 1pm went to gents toilet disgusting fag butts and numerous rubbish on floor, no toilet paper in cubicle, somebody dumped there old socks and pants on floor instead.spoke to female staff she said she would deal with it, 15 mins later male removed the clothes , asked again for toilet paper , 40 mins later it arrived. my mum used the ladies toilets she said worst she ever visited, no paper no toilet seat no locks on door appailing filthy.

Regularly come here when parents come to visit. Whilst it strikes me as somewhere predominantly used by 'locals' or regular visitors, there is a warm feel to the place - staff are always friendly and food is always nice and very reasonably priced. Will be returning.

if you want a laugh this is the place to come. The staff are lovely. you do see the same faces when you go in there. Its warm friendly. The food is really nice an all day breakfast well you do need to be starving to order that one bloody Hansome.

the pubs first impression are not good but the meals are a good price 2 for 6.95,the beer is also cheap. the pub looks like it could do with a clean/refurb. the food was served quickly and hot, and where just the right size for a mid day meal ,not the sort off place for evening meal

We ordered our food which was really tasty. We did feel the portions were a bit small for the price. Shame they don't check their drinks glasses when taking them out of the washer though as there was red lipstick on two sides of my glass which I only noticed once I had finished my coke. Having said that the pub is traditional looking, spacious and always full of people wanting to order food - which is a good sign. We always eat here when we visit Plymouth and will continue to do so.

I've been here a few times over the years. A decent sized pub with a reasonable menu and good food. The only thing that puts me off is the number of TV screens showing sports!

Tripadvisor needs to get its act sorted right now in regards to the offensive review left by a member. The last review left by Jason R (titled 'Crap') is insulting to the public that attend and use this establishment and should not have been allowed.This review by Jason R should be removed because it is totally untrue and offensive to the customers that use the Noah's ark. A lot of our servicemen lost there life's in Afghanistan, shame on this person for using this in his review as if it's joke! How can Tripadvisor allow this? For the record, the beer is very good and excellent value and the food is fine for the price. I am a customer that uses the Noah's Ark and I am not unemployed, in fact I own a successful business so I am very offended by this review left by Jason R.

Avoid this place it is an absolute den of iniquity even though it has been improved inside with a lick of paint the beer is terrible and the food is typical pub chain microwaved crap. The inhabitants are mostly long or life long unemployed or unemployable pond life. Most of them would make ideal jeremy Kyle fodder or perhaps we should use them for mine detection in Afghanistan wearing nothing except concrete boots. Avoid

I work for a company based here in Plymouth which supports people who have learning disabilities. A small group of us decided to visit the Noah's Ark for breakfast despite the staff member who was organising the trip saying that he'd not had the best experience during their previous visit where the food was cold. But we decided to give it another try...this was our first mistake.The whole experience did not bode well when it took me five minutes to order two cups of coffee. I could have accepted this at 9 o'clock on a busy Saturday night but not on a Thursday morning.The second problem occurred because one of my clients is unable to eat bacon. In order to overcome this with what I assumed would be the least amount of upheaval I suggested that he substitute the bacon in his breakfast for two more sausages. We made this request when we ordered, but when the food was brought to the table (and when I say "brought" I mean, the lady shouted out what was on the plate and then dumped it onto the table in front of the person who had ordered it) I noticed that they had left off the bacon as requested but had not substituted the sausages. When I pointed this out to her, her response was, "oh well I wasn't told. I don't know if I can do that and you'll have to wait because the sausages will need to be cooked." Apparently, taking one item of food off a plate and putting a different item on is too difficult for the kitchen staff at the Noah's Ark although, as I am sure most people will agree, it isn't akin to, say, operating the Large Hadron Collider...When I pointed out this mistake to the manager he informed me that they were unable to make the substitution as it would mess up their stock recording........ . In light of their inability to carry out such a simple request I told the manager that we would have the bacon instead. He then looked at me in incredulity (http://dictionary.cambridge.org/ <------link to online dictionary should any of the Noah's Ark staff be reading this) and said "oh so now you want the bacon." I then pointed out that I would not allow my client to pay for a breakfast that he would not be receiving in full. At this point he stomped off saying that he didn't know if that would be possible, only to return shortly after with a sausage which was dumped unceremoniously onto the table next to my client.In addition to this poor service I would like to add that one of the staff looked as though she had got up late, skipped having a shower and then deemed it appropriate to serve customers with food whilst chewing gum with her mouth wide open and the lady "serving" the food to the tables did so in a scruffy rock band t-shirt and a pair of chef's trousers which I assume were supposed to be (and I'm sure at one point in the distant past, were) black and WHITE.I do have one positive point to make about the Noah's Ark and this is that they are confident (or simply unaware) enough to put a comments book on the bar. I would have completed this but I couldn't find a pen. I can only assume that this was to prevent the customers, many of whom were drinking at 11 o'clock on a Thursday morning whilst watching Jeremy Kyle, from using it as a weapon in a fight over weather Jeremy's guest failed their lie detector test. Although as I write this it does occur to me that a writing implement in The Noah's Ark would, most likely, be redundant.So, in conclusion, if The Noah's Ark were a day of the week it would be 9 o'clock on a Monday morning, if it were an item of clothing it would be two left footed Crocs....I could go on but I think you get my point...

We recently visited the Noah's arks pub for a roast to celebrate christmas. To start with, the staff didn't have a clue how to smile or make a convosation, which I believe is basic customer service. We were then served our roast ( 45 mins after ordering) of which the turkey was served cold but with hot gravy poured on top. The turkey wasn't ' warm' or 'room temp' it was literally ' out the fridge' cold.Well, after bringing this up with the staff we were told that turkey is supposed to be cold...... A hot roast but with cold turkey?!We do not intend to return, unless the place has a complete renovation of bar staff, cooks and management!Avoid!

Absolutely awful drinkers getting rowdy squaring up to each other and the staff seem quite judgemental never going back!!!

The cod and chips are the best in the area . We call in here for lunch whenever we go to Plymouth and as a family we all enjoy the food it's ok to bring small children here to as it seems very welcoming

went to the noah ark for valentine day with my partner and i was disapointed to hear we was the only people that booked for valentine day

The pub food was good and at a reasonable price, the same is true of the drinks, and this was an okay location to bring a toddler. What I would say is that it's just a bit shabby, the toilets are old and have black and yellow tape on the sink area, and it all just felt a bit grubby and could do with a complete refurb really.

Busy central pub, just off Royal Parade. Found it by chance. Nice atmosphere, great beer & excellent priced food menu. Service good considering it was a busy Saturday afternoon. Meals were nice & tasty.

Good basic food with some attractive two for one deals all day. The Noah's Ark used to have a reputation as a rough and ready drinkers pub in the heart of the earliest post war rebuilding. Fans used to gather here before and after Argyle, large robust masses of young men and equally hard living women have come here for half a century and more. It still has an edge but now there is a hint of buttoned chesterfields and comfy furnishings. Either way it is a good solid place to eat and drink sensible filling food at some the cheapest prices about.
