No5 Coffee House in Shropshire

Excellent service and food. Really lovely atmosphere with most tables being used. Very good menu….struggled to choose from the small plates and probably over-ordered! Quality of the food was really good. This is a very friendly place with lovely staff and great food; we visit fairly regularly - coffees, drinks, food - and are very lucky to have this on our doorstep.

This was a fantastic choice of where to get dinner. Fabulous service, wonderful food and a chilled atmosphere. The quality of the food was outstanding and I would recommend the Harissa lamb skewers and the belly pork. I will definitely visit again.

If customers choose not to sit at a table under a draughty ceiling fan, please don't glare at us in a hostile way as the waitress did today please. It's a wonder the milk didn't turn!...a smile costs nothing. We took our custom to a friendlier cafe in town.

Expensive pretentious food, a fish finger sandwich at lunch £11 not sure what fish was inside the batter!! I suspect the lowest grade of fish, as it was grey as opposed to white. Our waiter was polite, but not very attentive I.e. no check back Won’t be going again.

Booked an evening meal for 7.15pm and got an email confirmation so assumed everything was fine. Later in the early evening got a message asking us to come at 8pm. We queried this then got another text message confirming 7.15. We arrived a bit early, to be reluctantly be given a table and to be told ‘there will be a wait for food’ by a pink haired lady in a very dismissive manner. We asked what sort of wait and she shrugged said she didn’t know but ‘you have a table so do you want some drinks’. It was pretty obvious they have over booked for 7.15 as huge tables were arriving and getting priority. Though we have eaten there before and quite enjoyed the food, the dismissive attitude and lack of organisation resulted in us giving up and walking over the road to Christopher’s where we had a warm welcome, attentive service and an excellent meal. No5 needs to get its system sorted and get some staff training organised. The waitress delivered awful service, some of the worst we have experienced anywhere.

Me and my wife popped in and hadn’t booked, the staff were fantastic from start to finish, we had cocktails to start our night, I had Long Island iced tea and the wife had a pornstar martini both were amazing. We shared a starter of honey glazed chorizo which was out of this world and wholeheartedly recommend, followed by southern fried chicken burger for myself and lamb rump for my wife, both were really nice and again we would recommend both. The place has a nice relaxed vibe with music playing in the background and the staff looked genuinely happy. We will be back soon no doubt.

Service was fantastic, we opted for the tapas style dining which was overall quite good. The meatballs were amazing, the chorizo was lovely, the patatas bravas could have done with being more “bravas” but sadly the calamari was overcooked and like rubber. Also it was blooming cold in there. Maybe the weather caught them out. Overall a good evening was had.

I booked for the mums in our family to have breakfast here on Mother's day and I'm glad I did. Having never visited before and not read any reviews other than looking at pictures on Facebook I took a chance. We all agreed it was an excellent choice, we couldn't fault anything. We were greeted with big smiles from the staff, shown to our table and left to peruse an extensive menu. Choosing was really difficult as all dishes sounded yummy, plenty for vegetarians too. The coffee was really tasty and they accommodated one of our group with oat milk instead of normal cows milk. The food looked lovely on the plate, poached eggs were bang on (and they're difficult to get right) and the food was hot when served. We had a really relaxing, tasty breakfast and never felt hurried by the accommodating staff. In all, it was a lovely way to spend a lazy Mother's day breakfast. There is even a car park to the rear. Another visit may be in order.

This was my first time going for evening food and solely went to eat from the tapas menu. Both the tapas menu and the drinks menu had lots of choice. I had 2 delicious mocktails and my friend had a porn star martini. Food wise we ordered starters of bread and olives and halloumi bites and off the tapas menu we ordered 5 dishes between us which was more than enough. Food came out quickly and was hot and beautifully served. All the dishes were yummy and left me with a full and happy belly. Can’t wait to go back there again. I would def recommend you go and try their food. It’s divine. Thank You.

We always enjoy everything about this little gem - be it coffee and cake, breakfast, lunch or evening tapas- not forgetting their special Menus for Christmas, Valentine’s Night etc We had booked a table and had looked forward to enjoying their fantastic Tapas dishes once again. However on reviewing the Evening menu we also noted something new - it was in fact the first night for their new Thursday night Supper Club - 2 courses for £17 (plus you could add a bottle of SA Sauvignon Blanc for £15) There was a choice of 4 starters and 5 mains which offered something for everyone and so we decided to go with this offering We shared starters of Honey Glazed Chorizo and the Crispy coated salt and pepper Calamari - delicious. For mains Jill had the Fish Pie which ticked her boxes and I enjoyed the Chicken Chasseur. We finished with a couple of puds from the main menu followed by a couple of coffees As always the food and service were top notch

This is a small cafe which looks nice . However you have to wait to be seated and the staff member was so rude . We Asked if we could sit down at one of the many free tables, the lady snapped no wait and left us waiting ages , when the cafe was not busy. She was on a power trip . We stood listening to her talking to customers about random stuff, ignoring the queue . After about 15 mins we left and as we did so she started to shout at us . Honestly never experienced such a rude Karen in hospitality. She will make an excellent Doctors receptionist

A neat little dining room is presided over by a couple of delightful staff. They manage to be constantly attentive and accommodating without ever being cloying. There’s a very impressive looking cocktail menu which I was sad not to be able to explore. The wine list is reasonable and broad and there are a couple of good beers on draught. The menu is tapas-adjacent. £8/9 a dish is towards the pricier end for tapas and while there was a more than generous portion heaped upon each neat little plate they offered little joy. A lamb croquette with peas, sweet potato and East African spices fell apart the minute the fork touched it into a sort of hash. The lamb was well cooked and the peas sufficiently defrosted but there was no taste of any spice at all. It’s served with a lamb jus which is nice enough in a gravy sort of way but as the croquette had no structure it’s only use was to pour over the collapsed ingredients and imagine a small shepherd’s pie. I should have sent the Stuffed Sweet Pepper back. The pepper was undercooked and the “spicy vegetables” were chunks of undercooked sweet potato alongside beans that tasted like they’d come from a can. Recently. There was measly amount of mozzarella on each one and great slices of red chilli - advertised as pickled - definitely not pickled. It was unpleasant. To round it off there was an excellent chilli beef. Advertised as coming with crispy rice noodles I managed to find a few wisps of them across the dish as if the chef had been embarrassed by them. That aside the beef had been treated well, the spring onions were bouncy and lent a lovely acidity and the sauce was rich and unctuous. The food wasn’t good, certainly not good enough for the price asked, but it’s a comely spot and somewhere that would tempt me again for coffee.

This was our first visit and definitely won’t be the last we live local to Shifnal but hadn’t heard about this place it’s a hidden gem. The tapas was beautiful with plenty more of choice on the menu. The staff where very efficient and friendly. It’s also great value for money highly recommend.

Well made, nice atmosphere, nice people. The coffee is made with mild not harsh coffee beans and cakes donor taste generic possibly home made. Only criticism is perhaps atmosphere could be a little more relaxed.

I was visiting from Shrewsbury with a friend and we decided upon brunch at the No5 Coffee House, however, the experience I encountered is one I wish to forgot and shall not be returning! After entering the cafe I had to wait around 10 minutes before being greeted and seated. The staff were clueless when asked about gluten free food and the coffee's were bland and lukewarm, not to mention that my cake had a hair baked into it, something I've never experienced before, I'd suggest looking at your hygiene policies before authorities get involved as I'm sure you'd fail and make sure you check your cake carefully should you unfortunately have to visit this place! DISGUSTING!!!

Met a friend here for a cuppa and catch up whilst in Shifnal. Welcoming from the street and so we decided to give No 5 a go. Welcoming, lovely setting and plenty of tables. Busy so expect a slight wait but worth it, great choice of drinks available and also some tempting cakes too.

This is a coffee house with excellent atmosphere, service and cakes. The prices are also very competitive with other cafes in Shifnal.

No.5 is situated in Shifnal High-Street and is a favourite haunt for many people evident by the place always being busy. I've only been a couple of times for a drink but the place is so quirky and features lots of awesome paintings, photography and other artwork.

Whilst in Shifnal we decided to pop in to No5 for a drink. The settings are lovely. Artwork on the wall for sale. Plenty of big chunky solid wood tables. Recycled jam jars for sugar and a lovely area at the back with big comfy leather seats.

I've visited No 5 several times with friends and once with family. It has a really nice vibe and is comfortable yet stylish. Several little tables and comfy corners as well as a handy window perch to watch the world go by. The prices are reasonable for a coffee house and staff are friendly. They do proper bacon butties on a Sunday but have a array of cakes, sandwiches and paninis if peckish during the rest of the week. This is a great addition to Shifnal and no doubt will become a regular haunt of many. Great for meeting friends but equally good for families. Do take a coffee loyalty card it's worth a free coffee after several cups and if your in there for a morning's catch up you will get it stamped in no time. Well worth a visit.
