Really nice half price lunch. Good selection of drinks too.

Bottomless brunch... the cocktails are just like water and we didn't rate these...the food is decent. Endleess pink prosecco. It got really busy mid brunch, don't go until after 1pm otherwise it is 2 early...staff were lovely couldn't fault them.

Sunday lunch . Beef in red wine gravy .beef was pulled beef not sliced not what you expect on a sunday dinner or advertised on menu as this ,gravy like water on plate, not hard to make a decent thick gravy , no red cabbage or green veg as described . Dont bother if going for sunday lunch very disappointing .

Decor quirky which I liked, brunch was good but we knew we were maybe drinking too fast in bottomless as they started to ignore our table, toilets could do with an update

Love, love, love it here. 2 for £12 cocktails absolutely slap. Friendly staff who are very knowledgeable about their products and services. Early doors spirit deals are great also. Great music on a weekend. Love the Dalek too, tops off the great decor.

I never feel welcome at this bar. Perhaps because we’re 50+ and not the type of customers they’re trying to attract? I don’t know. The bar staff seem to be more interested in interacting with each other than the customers. I was waiting to be served at the bar one evening (it was quiet) and, having served another customer, the bar man went to the end of the bar, had a brief conversation with a colleague and walked away, leaving the bar unattended. In the meantime a young man approached the bar. Seeing him, another member of staff came over and asked him what he wanted! When I politely advised both of them that I’d been waiting longer the man was very apologetic but the barmaid just scowled at me 🤷🏼 Yeah, definitely unwelcome 🙁

Faye is amazing. She should have been allowed at the trade show. Kyle is nice too, but Faye is the best.

Faye was an absolute treat. Her knowledge and passion about the mixology industry is truly astounding. It’s refreshing to see. Truly made such a difference to my wife and I’s visit to Newcastle.

An amazing venue for an event. I came here for my 30th birthday party. The space and atmosphere is great. The bar staff Issac and Kieran were professional and kept the drinks flowing. Grace, the manager made the event easy to organise. Everything was spot on! Would 100% recommend.

We went there for Sunday lunch, we hadn't booked but they managed to fit us in. (I would recommend booking as it was very busy) I had the beef brisket and my partner had the pork. Both were amazing the beef just melted in my mouth, both came with ample veg. The service was just enough without being too intrusive perfect for a relaxing Sunday lunch!! Will definitely be back.

Visited no28 for my friend's birthday, and can I just say watch yourself with how tasty the long islands are!🤣 The decor everywhere makes for the best photos too!😍😍 not to mention the staff are absolutely lovely. Thanks for having us!

My go to late night venue in Newcastle

Had a boozy brunch booked near the start of January (booked and paid in full. £70) however due to train strikes wasn’t able to make the reservation and called to cancel and see if a refund would be possible. Spoke with the manager who informed this wouldn’t be an issue and a full refund would be given by Monday at the latest. (Saturday booking). After much correspondence with booking office and over the phone I have only just gotten my money back from the restaurant having waited a full month now. This was only after repeatedly calling and trying to get an answer. Just go to slug and lettuce you’ll have less grief.

After emails between myself and the booking manager, and paying a £10 deposit to book a table for drinks and food this afternoon, my hubby and I arrived to discover no table had been booked and the restaurant was fully booked. (I emailed to book because that's what you're advised to do on the website.) Spoke with the booking manager in the restaurant and explained he gets 150 emails a day. He's busy. Disappointed as we were really looking forward to experiencing eating here. Perhaps I should have double checked the booking but that would have added to the many emails the booking manager gets...🙄

We have visited this bar many of times over the past few years. Pre covid the bar was amazing, we never had a problem getting seated and both enjoyed the quirky vibe. However recently we have been denied entry as they were fully booked and today they could only offer us a table for 45 mins. We took the table and then after 20 mins we were told to move as the next booking had arrived early. Shame that gone are the days you could just turn up to a bar and have a drink. We are most likely unlikely to revisit this bar.

Absolutely amazing place to visit! Great atmosphere and thr food was delicious, fresh and so filling! Visit for their Sunday Roast and was blown away by how good it was! This will definitely be a regular place for me now. Staff were friendly snd inviting and was always on hand whenever you needed them!

Attended a hen party in which we had 15 guests and had booked the mezzanine level for bottomless brunch. We were told to arrive promptly however when we got there, the previous party hadn't left and we didn't get into the area for 20 minutes later than the booking time. We were also told on arrival that the food options were not available because the "fryer was broken" and could only choose beef burger, chicken burger or veg burger. When the food arrived, it was fried chicken burger and all meals came with fried fries.... so I presume the frier definitely was working and it was just convenience that we had limited options. The food itself was very plain and rather dry. The drinks were a positive and there were bottles of prosecco flowing constantly, however there was not often a waiter/waitress around if you wanted any other drinks. We did complain on the night and the manager dealt with this as best as possible given the circumstances so I would try going back one day, however the hen party was a bit of a let down due to the issues.

Not sure what we were expecting, but it was ok. Cannot complain as it was a gift. Would we go back - maybe.

Late night bar. Tucked away off the Granger market upstairs. Fantastic little find . Beautiful inside . Well worth a visit. You won't be disappointed. Chilled out vibe

Four of us went for Sunday lunch, we had 3 course's each and all 3 courses were lovely my prawn cocktail with a slice of warm tiger bread was very tasty as was the roast beef dinner with massive Yorkshire pudding and my sticky toffee pudding was fabulous, I would definitely eat here again when visiting Newcastle.

Bar is lovely but the bouncer choke slammed my friend so I dunno like xx

Lovely idea of boozy afternoon tea and serving cocktails in teapots, but unfortunately at 2pm on Saturday the place got so busy, that we had to remind the staff about each of our drinks. Initially they said they would be coming to our table to check in with us and see what cocktail we want next, but unfortunately this didn't happen and we had to be catching the staff ourselves multiple times. We saw they were understaffed and very busy during that time, but this was disappointing still. Not a very afternoon tea atmosphere.

Do not go if you have food allergies they have no clue! They advertise gluten free but can't actually give you any gf food. They asked me what stage of coeliac I was! There is no stages you either are or aren't. No coeliac should eat gluten! Staff need to be retrained on allergies. All he kept asking was to see email proof that we had told yous before hand which we did. But yous could not find the email, however I'm not sure how this was meant to solve anything.

So we booked the brunch. Were shoe-horned up stairs where service wasnt that fast and felt a bit detached from the rest of the place. The table was not clean and sticky with the previous peoples spillages. Had to request they cleanse it - which they did at my request. The bench seat along the rear wall was broken and kept slipping off when sat on. As did the flower pot keep falling over when the neighboring table nudged it. Should have been clean already when it was reserved - on arrival it had my name on so no excuses for a dirty table. Air-con wasnt working and was far too hot being up near a low ceiling. Food menu absolutely rubbish. No description of what the tapas were - just a name. And a choice of 2 burgers. Prosecco was as to be expected - Well its prosecco and was fine. Food choices very poor and non desctiptive. Of all the brunches weve been to in Newcastle - and thats quite a few now - this has to rank low on the list of satisfaction...well frankly it's the poorest experience. Drinks fine - Menu poor and non descriptive - Food well below standard. Been and done it - wont do it again...much better options elsewhere in Newcastle. Overall a poor experience and overpriced. More like basic pub food than a good brunch experience.

Been to these kind of places before for bottomless brunch expecting food and getting less than fresh air. Not here though. Huge juicy burger and fries and wasn't waiting forever to be served the next bottle. Great food, great staff, great day. Recommended!!! 🏆

Stopped in after work in a week day and really enjoyed the eclectic decorations, the fantastic music choices and the cocktails we chose were delicious. We had been meaning to visit a while ago and now we wish we'd visited sooner.

We had a fantastic experience at No 28! They managed to squeeze us in last minute and were so helpful in advance. Our waiter Sam was incredibly friendly and helpful. It is the best value bottomless I have ever attended - constantly filling up bottles on the table without prompting and delicious food. Will defo be visiting again

The venue is nicely tucked away in a little alley way next to a market. The staff are friendly, the quality and variety of cocktails are great. The prices are reasonably. The venue has a good vibe and interesting decor. If your in Newcastle and looking for a good place to get some drinks...here is a good place to start.

Cool bar great decor great atmosphere and my favourite beer on draft Red Stripe

The inside of Bar 28 is exquisitely decorated, and the selection of drinks is impressive. The quality of their pints is superb, with a great head and plenty of life. The friendly and helpful staff add to the welcoming atmosphere, making it an ideal place for a night out with family or friends. The tantalizing aroma of their food is a great incentive to sample their cuisine, which I am sure won't disappoint.

What a lovely experience. Not a bar a visit often although I have visited at least 10 times but tonight was first time we ate . Great staff . And a young girl Steff was so helpful and pleasant , a credit to no28 . and will make us want to visit again . Thank you all

Excellent niche bar tucked out of the way a little from the major bar areas in Newcastle. Loads of staff so it doesn't take long to get served. Great music and atmosphere. Slightly more pricey but it deters the knackers.

Nice place and somewhere a bit different to the other bars in town. Came here for the Newcastle cup final and had plenty space for our group. We'll worth a visit.

They served Erdinger Blue!!! A very eclectic bar, some excellent decor and posters. Attentive cocktails makers, which makes a refreshing change.

Can only describe this place as 'meh'. Its not a bad place to go for a drink. Is usually full of, and caters for, the type of people who think a good instagram photo is a legitimate subsitute for personality. Still worth popping in for one if your close by.

Interesting restaurant in the town centre. Lovely staff, very understanding about a mix-up with our booking. Nice food and a good house red.

Without doubt the best bar in the North East. The combination of the friendly staff exceptional service and outstanding food just make this the perfect venue. It could be a couple of drinks after work or a private party with friends this place is the only bar I feel comfortable and relaxed in . You'll find a mix of all ages and the best music played at anytime you visit, can you tell yet I love the place. Absolutely fantastic venue thanks as always Paul for the great hospitality from you and the team . See you again soon .

Amazing customer service for a joint birthday drinks. Darryl was super attentive and even got us little cupcakes with sparklers to celebrate! I would 10/10 recommend for any organised drinks.

A really kitsch bar, tucked away, eclectic,and a tad eccentric. Suited us fine. Loved all of the fairy lights , the plants. An excellent music playlist. Something for everyone.

Nice bar in unique location with decent selection of drink. If i could improve 1 thing it would be to have a couple more tables or bar stools kept for walk-ins as you do tend to only stay for 1 when stood.

my friend had a table booked for her birthday, afternoon tea + prosecco and cocktails. loved the decor and drinks were lush, but not worth it. quality wasn’t as expected. staff didn’t check back on us and wasn’t around. this place is overrated

Going into No28 tonight was a visit on a whim and WOW it did not disappoint! Gorgeous decor as I imagined and the two staff working tonight have given me and my friend a wonderful afternoon/evening! We will DEFINITELY be returning!! We didn’t realise food wasn’t on tonight but because we were there very early on, the manager came over and offered to cook a few dishes that he’d been taught how to prepare by the Chef and WOWZA did he deliver! My friend was able to offer him some helpful advice regarding one of the dishes (as she has spent a considerable amount of time in Spain) to which he enthusiastically took on board, and later joined us for a lovely chat at the bar. I’d also like to give a shout out to the wonderful barmaid who was an absolute delight to talk too, who I discovered I have actually met before outside of my own work establishment which was a wonderful surprise. Thank you so much to Both of you! A hidden gem indeed ❤️

The bartender was lovely despite being run off his feetbworking alone. Great service and very efficient!

At the bar and ordered a drink to a young girl with  glasses and short dark hair who told me "she's not serving" no reason given but then served another customer immediately, 5 minutes waiting I was served by a guy with dreadlocks (who initially seemed like an OK guy) until I asked him why the young girl treated me like this, he then grabbed my drinks off me, I'm baffled. The staff either have contempt for customers or extremely poor communication skills, needless to say I shall not return which is a pity because the DJ was good.

Staff were super friendly and the drinks were amazing!

Surprising bar restaurant facilities hidden a bit amongst Grainger Market off Nelson Street. Enjoyed great drinks and service, no food this time but next time maybe.

The cocktails are great but the hostess was really aggressive and her hospitality skills were terrible.

We had such a good time in no.28- good drinks well priced, interesting cocktails with plenty of variety, absolutely recommended !! . Good tunes too. Lovely and friendly service - we will be back!

My first and last visit. No toilet roll or soap and only one cubicle with a lock which worked. Staff were rude and clearly catered for the guests they wanted to. We watched people being asked to leave their tables as new people arrived. Yes there were seats which were reserved but it was clear as the night went on, what was happening. We tried to move twice as a couple squeezed on to our bench and then proceeded to place their hands down each others trousers. Personally, I feel that is unacceptable in a bar but the staff members we told, really weren't bothered. At £8.50 a cocktail, we expected them to have the correct ingredients in but I watched mine being made and the barmaid couldn't have been ruder when I asked her to check the ingredients that she was actually having to read from a sheet. The result was an incorrect cocktail which tasted nothing like it should have. A dusty, dirty bar with rude staff.

Really nice bar, not a huge selection of bars on tap but loads if other drinks to choose from as well. It's super cute and small, but really cosy and has a great night out vibe. It's a great hidden gem which I always love visiting.

A great little bar that seems so far removed from the hustle and bustle of town. On the pricier side for drinks but they have a good selection. I believe they still get guests in to take over the kitchen and as such they always have a really good food menu on. Service is always great too

Awesome friendly place with great service and lush drinks! We didn't even get chance to try the food!

Lovely brunch - decided not to partake in the bottomless Prosecco but a lot of the options weren’t suitable for a coeliac so I went for loaded fries which were delicious but didn’t feel like I was having a real meal. Tables as a little small with the ice bucket on but it’s a great venue with so many interesting things to look at.
