The coffee is decent. Staff are slow and chatting in front of the customers. But what I find rather unpleasant is the fact that the cashier passes the coffee cups to the barristas with her fingers holding the cup from the *inside*. Not very hygienic.

Popped in for a quick coffee and bite to eat. Lovely coffee, lovely croissants. Staff very happy and helpful. Very responsible priced as this would have cost us double in our local town. Definitely plan on coming back.

Absolute FAVOURITE place to visit for a coffee and bite to eat! Lovely friendly staff, really warm and chill atmosphere and the food and pastries are fantastic. Highly recomment the Reuben and chocolate brownie as both are fantastic! Here every week and plan to continue to visit!

my favourite place for coffee in heaton! the staff is always so warm and friendly, the coffee is fantastic, and they have the best brownies in the world. it's in great location on chilli road next to two bus stops and five-ish mins from the metro. there's a good amount of seating and it's not too loud inside, so it's great for getting some work done or having a chat!

Very cosy and friendly coffee shop. Lovely smooth flavoured coffee with lots of baked goods to choose from. Upstairs seating is very cool with nice book area too.

Love this place - they reopened safely as soon as possible and have really served as a little friendly coffee and munchies hub! Since my first comment they've changed hands and it's still a great place with really nice service. I wish they stayed open later though.

It’s a shame that brew & bite shut, but this is an excellent alternative. The coffee I had was very tasty! The only reason I’ve given 4* instead of 5 is because the bench I sat on was weirdly tall for the table it had with it so I felt like I was very bent over. But I’m also quite tall so it could’ve been a me problem!

Really cute little coffee shop. I had a decaf coffee and grilled croissant with cheese and salami which was tasty. The service was nice and staff were helpful. The bathroom is upstairs which doesn’t make it super accessible. There is also extra seating upstairs but getting one can be a bit difficult. Overall it’s a nice little coffee place.

The nicest coffee spot in Heaton! I popped in with my dog, looking for somewhere to do some work and get a snack inbetween meetings. The staff were super friendly, especially the young female barista (apologies I didn't catch your name!) who made a fuss of my dog, pointed out the free scooby snacks and gave her water. I had a vegan lemon drizzle cake which was delicious, and the upstairs section was perfect for getting on with work, with powerpoints and strong WiFi. I'll be back!

£3.20 for regular latte coffee, the size of the cup is a joke, shocking for the price, up yr game make the cups bigger, dont be greedy.

Can't fault it at all. Coffee is wonderful and also espresso tonic is available which is a rare find. Pan au chocolate was amazing and the staff are wonderful, making a fuss of my retrievers who loved the attention. My favourite place for a coffee.

It was unbelievably expensive for a coffee that was not even a large. I know people have to maintain a business, but I won't be visiting again as the price is disproportionate to the size. Pay an extra £1 and Costa gives you a cup 4 times the size.

My third visit to Neibourhood today and I say no to this place after all. Low level of service, mud, poor behaved personnel, these things are not attractive to the little coffee places with the idea owner wanted to include in it. Today made a note to a lady that rubbish at the corner outside is not attractive at all, got the answer she is not a gardener and demonstrative picking of wrappers, but not tiding the corner. Hope she didn’t spit in my coffee, cause her smile meant exactly that.

The coffee isn't out of this world but it is decent. Which is more than can be said for the food. We got a sandwich and a pastry to take out. The pastry was stale and the ham and pease pudding sandwich was dry and dense with little pease pudding and far too much rocket. It didn't taste of what it was. Our over all experience was one of disappointment.

Great little lovely shop! Love the coffee and pastries (+ bread!) from Pink Lane! The price value is also great!

Really sad to see what's happening. Hope the lovely staff are taken care of. Paid upfront for monthly subscription, with no recourse on how to get it refunded. Doubt I'll ever see that money again!

Coffee is decent, but the owner is a selfish lying piece of s**t who doesn't pay his staff properly, dismissed loads of people with no P45s and missing wages, owes pension scemes thousands, owes thousands to local businesses, and blames the cost of living crisis for the fact he's essentially stolen people's livelihoods. Don't support this business.

Decent selection but doesn’t mean much with how much I’ve heard about how terribly ran it is, pay your staff and take accountability. Don’t give them your money.

I live in Heaton and I regularly try the coffee shops locally. Seeing brew and bite and what they offer seemed quite appealing, and whilst the coffee was quite nice the pastries were really dry and stodgy. I recently found out recent staff haven’t been paid for their hours work, so I’d rather go somewhere else from now on.

Top notch flat white (and I'm a fussy one when it comes to flat whites!) and a great selection of fresh pastries and other baked goods; can particularly recommend the cruffins. Has both indoor and outdoor seating too!

My favourite place on Chilli Road! Jess and the team have created a lovely, unhurried, community atmosphere at Brew & Bite, with a genuine warm welcome for everyone. Unreal cakes (all baked on-site!) and delicious coffee. If you're a regular, the 'VIB card' (£35 for unlimited coffee for a month) is really excellent value. Long live Brew & Bite!

Great little place!! I had breakfast here, the food is lovely! I had a latte a cruffin and a savoury croissant, the latte was lovely I really enjoyed the coffee taste, the croissant and the cruffin were delicious! I recommend this place for a quick bite or a relaxing afternoon. Ill definitely back next time im in the area.

Had tea, coffee, a couple of sandwiches and a cake to share. All were lovely, the pot of tea was huge and the cake (a Cruffin) was absolutely delicious. The cafe is lovely inside with a couple of rooms upstairs available. The service was brilliant. If I had one complaint it's that the tea and coffee could/should be hotter, but it was still very enjoyable regardless. Would definitely recommend.

I don't know how many times I've bought croissant or small pastries here that are stale. For hard day-old pastries, you shouldn't be paying these high prices. A really nice-looking cafe, so it's a shame that same quality doesn't go into their food.

Brew and Bite kept me sane throughout lockdown. Just knowing there was a tiny place of cheer, pastries and good coffee helped break up the days. Also, the coffee is top-notch, perhaps the best in Heaton, and the Portuguese custard tarts are great.

Ask you to do an UNPAID 4 hour trial shift on their busiest day, don't give you any refreshments, they tell you you're at the top of the hiring list at the end of the shift, then don't make contact with you for 9 weeks (and counting)

An elegant little niche coffee shop with a rustic basic feel and look to it super friendly and helpful stall and very polite. The coffee was very good and stands up to any of the other coffee shops. The down side is parking on the road is limited but not impossible well worth a visit

You know I do love this place BUT the price for a normal bru and cinnamon swirl is almost £7.00 It's pushing it and that is why I don't go very often. I love it because they do great cake and buns and those kind of things. It's just very over priced. We are still in the North East, Not London. Staff is friendly but their efficiency isn't great. I stood there waiting to be seen to for 18min one time. And it was because the member of staff was talking to a customer. I left. But they do great cake, cinnamon swirls, buns and other goodies. Just being honest and fair Brew & Bite.

Overpriced and undertasty. The buns taste like thick bread dough with a sprinkle of sugar on top. These people need to visit other bakeries to gauge what’s good. Maybe I just don’t get it, in which case I’m all the more glad.

Went to get a coffee, waited 5 minutes outside as the only customer & disappointed to find cold when brought out. The hot one took 30 seconds when returned.. Shame as this used to be a nice spot when opened, abit like the bagel place up the road.

Went here a few times on a whim to get a coffee, hot chocolate and a little bite to eat. It's a nice little coffee shop that sells nice little bites to eat and they're very friendly. However you do NOT get much for your money, especially with drinks. The cups are very small and at around £3.50 for about 150ml of hot chocolate it's not great. My boyfriend also said the coffee isn't anything special and while it was nice it wasn't worth the price. I can't speak for their other options but it seems very pricey for very small drinks and with snacks it can add up quickly.
