No1 masala Indian restaurant & takeaway in Wirral

Ordered the 'monster kebab' for collection (always run the risk of sweaty food when delivered) and the kebab was awesome. For this kind of kebab to be under 10 quid is pretty good going, only downside was the fries/ chips which weren't the best, but the kebab was lovely. Will be back.

Food arrived cold, driver sat out side complex and eventually telephoned me, I explained on delivery instructions he said he never got them but he knew exactly where my flat was located. Food, Chicken tough and chewy, Samosa average, rest of the meal was well below average. Heads up for the Chapati which was attractive in it's shiny foil coat and carefully rolled although doughy, very pretty, basically £25.20 for a butter type sauce a tad cheeky.

We had never been here before and from the get go the staff was polite and friendly and the Food was fabulous.

Went here on Christmas day with my family & we weren't disappointed, our food was delicious, service was excellent & staff are so helpful & friendly. We would highly recommend to anyone who is thinking of dining here

What a Jem, my wife had been wanting to visit for a while, having seen some FB posts recommending this place. We took the plunge this evening and were amazed, the food is amazing, and such great value to. We had the sharer starter for 2, my wife Lyn had the Tikka Chicken Mokanwalla, I had the Fish Bhuna, a side of mushroom rice, and chips, absolutely stunning, delicious, we will be back very soon.

I won a set meal for 2 on their Facebook page. Absolutely made up. We knew it was going to be nice as we've never had a bad meal from there. The difference was I went to collect the meal instead of having it delivered. So it was the first time I'd been into the restaurant and met the staff, they were all so welcoming and friendly when I walked in. The restaurant was nicely laid out, people where dining in there and the staff were so helpful. Our meal was absolutely beautiful as always. If you haven't tried No1 then I would definitely recommend you do, amazing food and amazing value for money, Quality and quantity definitely gets a No 1 from us 👌😍

Our first time at this lovely restaurant. We had heard great things about this little ‘gem’ and weren’t disappointed. We all regularly eat Indian food and found the quality of the food exceptional. This is a small family run restaurant which was evident by how friendly and welcoming the staff were which made for a lovely atmosphere. It was also tremendous value for money. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed. We’ll certainly be returning very very soon.

Waited 3 hours for a cold take away. Called them 4 times and was told it was out for delivery each time.

A party of 9 of us went to celebrate a 21st and we all had a great night! Staff were attentive and the food was fabulous. A great way to spend a Saturdsy evening! Thankyou x

Absolutely brilliant bit of grub grub. Scrummy yummy yum yum in my tum tum! YEAAAH! I did end up with a bad belly afterwards but honestly it was SO DELISH I would just go straight back and have multiple times, me and my buddy Conrad will be coming back!

Perfect restaurant for those who are not hungry because the wait is so long you’ll be hungry by the time the foods ready. Told to collect in 25 minutes time. Currently 1 hour later and still waiting. No apology given And when we eventually got our food it was cold and the portions were poor. Try elsewhere

Good food, and the combos are not small and let you try different things. Not expensive as we took our own drinks. Lighting inside the restaurant is a bit too bright, like a school canteen. Dim the lights a bit and it'll be much better!

Was quite disappointed after hearing great things about this place. Was told delivery would be up to an hour so after 1hour 20 min rang up and was told it would be 10 min, 45 min later still hadn't arrived so i rang back and was told that it would be outside my house there and then. 10 min later it arrived. When the food came it was just s bit warm and wasn't anything special just ok.

We ordered our curry for delivery at 19.07. At 20.30 it still hadn’t arrived so we started calling for an eta. The phone was constantly engaged, so we drove to the shop. When I asked for an update on our order I was told that the order would take 170 minutes from the time we ordered despite requesting delivery as soon as possible’. I suggested that I take our order to save them the job only to be told that they hadn’t even started cooking it! It’s the longest most shambolic restaurant I’ve ever come across! Fortunately, the restaurant two doors down saved the day all in 30 minutes!!!

ordered takeaway, wait was about 15 mins until collection. food was hot and tasted lovely, plenty of choice. there are tables there and you can stay and eat in the restaurant. bring your own booze is also allowed.

Whilst food was lovely , we waited over2 hours from the time of ordering which had said 50 miniutes. Upon calling was told its was on the way and was still another 40 minutes. Never had such issues before, plus not expected for a Monday night .food arrived too late to enjoy it .

We ordered a takeaway for the first time from No1 Masala and it won’t be our last! The food was delivered in 50 minutes and one of the best Indians I’ve ever had - 10/10 and will definitely use again 👍🏻

Waited two hours for my food when the app said it would take 35 minutes. Fine with waiting as it is a Friday night however when the food came it tasted and looked like it had been sat there for some time. Ordered cheesy chips and only had a few grains of cheese on the chips?

The food is always amazing don't get me wrong. Admittedly it would be more amazing If it was hot and not soggy sweaty. But I suppose when it takes 2 hours to deliver everytime we have ordered then that is the result. This is my last time ordering here because 2hours is too long to wait.

Absolutely disgusted at the size of the portions ordered 2 large chips both where less than half full ordered 2 large Donna an chips and got 2 small ones that where not even full the chips where half cooked not happy at all won't be ordering from here again when I rang up to complain the man who answered wasn't abit bothered or interested at all taken in to mind our order was well over £70 extremely disappointed

First time visit as we were staying in Port Sunlight nearby. We chose to eat here as trip advisor reviews were generally good. Food was excellent, and staff were attentive. The only thing that let our visit down was the long wait for our meal, it seemed that takeaway orders had priority over customers sitting down in the restaurant, hence the 4 star review. It was a shame as the food was delicious,

Celebrated my 62nd birthday with family at No 1 Masala. As a regular takeaway user here, I thought I'd try the restaurant side. It was quite a long wait, which was attributable to how busy the takeaway was, but the food was as delicious as ever, and I would use again. Hopefully the service will be quicker next time!

We went after it was recommended to us by a family member. The food and service were both excellent, our waiter was very friendly and attentive. We didn’t know it was byob, so decided with the money saved there we would try the deserts, so glad we did. We will definitely be back and 100% recommend to anyone. There are only a few tables so probably best to book.

This place is amazing. You might drive past and think it's only a takeaway, There are only a few tables, so it's wise to call and book a table. It's byob, they provide the glasses, and the service is as good as any local restaurant. The food is excellent, it's modern indian, lighter and more varied than the usual "formula" Indian restaurants. I've been several times with a number of different friends; everyone has been amazed by the food and the service, and no-one has ever been disappointed. Best Indian food I've found in the Wirral, and great value for your money.

Been going to no1 masala for over a year now, but never left a review. Tonight was the icing on the cake for me. Ordered my usual ‘Monster Kebab’ but this time I put a special request in to put a masala sauce in it. Which they did and it honestly was the best kebab I’ve ever had!!! Superb lads please add curry sauce to the sauce options.

Been wanting to try for ages and I am disappointed, ordered online and was told it would be an hour, after 1 hour 20 minutes my girlfriend called up and asked where it was, and was told it was 10 minutes away. 50 minutes later we called again to ask and were told it was right in front of him getting sent out. I waited 15 minutes before driving over myself to complain and watched the driver leave with my food 2 minutes after I arrived, at which point they tried to tell me he left before i got there and tried to tell me they were busy. Despite the fact that I mentioned they told us that our food would be ready in 10 minutes 1 and a half hours ago, when it was already 20 minute late. Unfortunately due to this experience I will not be returning.

Beautiful food once again, I always return to this restaurant when I am in the area; and I'm never disappointed. The service is impeccable, accomodating staff; service with a smile and food like it's meant to taste and look. Highly recommend, once tasted....it's never forgotten. Ordered last night, food was OK but waited 2.5hrs. Called several times to be told “will be with you in 15 mins” won’t be using again.

Thought we would give it a try after it was recommended, ordered two meals and after 2hrs and 15mins later it arrived with apologies, wouldn't want to order again. I like a hot tasting curry and ordered a Korai, more like a korma, I've had a hotter ice cream. Sorry to say but wasn't impressed at all.

Ordered food at 1852 called again at 8.15 sdvised it was on it's way called again at 8.45 advised the driver had left it eventually arrived at 9.00pm. Whilst staying at the village hotel we came across No1 Massala, we rang to book a table on a Saturday and was surprised to get a table at such late booking on a Saturday evening, we ended up being the only couple in there although there was plenty of takeout going out the door, we opted for the fixed 2 course after a discussion with the owner/chef, the food was unbelievable, the best Indian I have had so far, 👍 every part of it was cooked to perfection, many thanks to Woody (chef) and his brother, we will certainly be stopping by next time we are in the area

My son told me this was the best Indian take away on the Wirral. This was at a time when you could not eat in a restaurant due to Covid. We haven’t used any other Indian since. They have now reopened the dining in area so we will be booking at table very soon. I can’t recommend this place strongly enough

We went for a meal for the first time and what can I say.... Fantastic tasting food. The biriyani had so much flavor and the vegetable korai was amazing, so many spices coming through. A big thank you for going out of your way to make vegan bhaji's and samosas along with vegan Naan bread. It was very much appreciated and we are looking forward to coming back. One of the nicest indians ive had. Beautiful atmosphere inside the restaurant. Food was AMAZING can tell everything is fresh and cooked with care. I want to pay special attention to the chicken which was cooked PERFECTLY but everything we ordered was amazing. The front of house was very polite and helpful with a warm welcome, and we even got to spoke to the head chef who i could tell was proud and passionate about his work. Cannot fault this restaurant and if you are looking for a good indian restaurant, you Cannot go wrong with No1 masala. I WILL definitely be coming again!

We dined at this place last week and I can tell you it’s the best place in the Wirral by far! You can bring your own alcohol from the convenience store next door. I had the chicken bonani and it was delicious, the naan was soft and fluffy!! I would definitely recommend!!

We arrived early to this restaurant/takeaway, myself, son & 4 children who love Indian food. We had to wait awhile for someone to take our order, we ordered poppadoms & dips, 6 starters, 4 main meals with rice's, chips & nann breads. We had to wait over an hour for our starters to come, we were ready to leave until they said our starters were coming out. The takeaway side was busy with deliveries going out & people coming in for their orders. Eventually our main meals came, myself & children had gone past it. The food was hot, we did ask for a madras sauce but it wasn't madras hot. The card machine still isn't working and you will need to pay by cash. This was the 2nd time we had been to this restaurant and will not be returning. Customers eating in should be served more quickly & tables cleared away. It doesn't look good walking in to a restaurant when the tables haven't been cleaned after someone else had ate a meal. Stick to being a takeaway or hire more staff to serve customers eating in.

The menu was great serving a variety of Indian dishes also offering burgers and kebabs, it caters for takeaway as well, the food was tasty, it would be ideal for a smaller group, there was 8 in our group so there was a wait for the main course, when it came it was hot and tasty staff very pleasant would definitely go again.

Spent another delightful evening (anniversary) last night at this small but perfectly formed restaurant on the A41 in Bromborough. The food as always was unbeatable & the staff are friendly & treat you like friends rather than punters 😀 They don’t have a drinks licence, but are happy for you to bring your own tipple, which makes the meal even better value for money, but don’t panic if you forget to bring some, there’s a perfectly placed offie right nextdoor 🍷 They also offer takeaway and delivery to your front door, but it’s always a special treat to dine in and get spoiled. I have only given 3 stars for atmosphere only because it was so quiet, but we prefer it that way and are glad that this obviously undiscovered establishment hasn’t been spoilt by the masses 😀 Would recommend this place to everybody and just try their Zesty Jalfrezi, an absolute must if you like it spicy 🌶️ One million percent recommend, thanks chaps 👍👍

Food 45 mins late, which is a regular occurrence with this restaurant. Half cold. Also, overpriced. Paid 3.50 for 5 tiny chili cheese bites, scandalous size for price charged. Won't be ordering from them again.
