We always enjoy our fish and chips from here but sadly tonight the batter was too thick and not cooked through. The chips and peas were fine.

Massive fish and a good amount of chips for a small portion, spend an amount, and get free prawn crackers. X3 fish, chips, and small chips with a bag £24.20, good value and nice fish and batter.

Hubby ordered fish & chips which were delicious. I ordered egg fried rice and potato scallops, both of which were obviously reheats from lunch time, rubbery and cold, both of the items. Won't be eating here again. Being a veggie, they don't offer much for me anyway. No chippies do. I hate reheated food. Disgusting.

Food is good. I wouldn't go here of a weekend, very busy and staff don't seem to care if you wait. Waited for nearly an hour for chicken fried rice and a carton of curry after being told over the phone it would take 20 minutes. Got fobbed off about the wait when I asked. Clearly they had forgotten the order. No apology just, "we've been busy". Food is good though, service not so much.

Always great food and great staff. It will continue to be my go-to. If I had one wish it would be that they start taking card payments - nobody likes cash these days! If I had two wishes it would be the above + deliveries (because I am lazy)

Ordered starters and main meal Said it would be 25 mins waited 50 minutes. Everything was in a bag when I got there except the main meal . It was absolutely dreadful everything stone cold .soggy cold rice cold chip’s disgusting. The whole lot went straight in the bin . Never again will I set foot in that place .Definitely not recommended 😰 so disappointed

Ordered special fried rice. The rice was dry and hard and the meat also dry. Tasted as if it had been cooked twice or over cooked. Won't use this chippy again. Really disappointed as it use to be good few yrs back.

Huge chip portion, but they aren’t great. Typical of a non chippy. Fish large but not fresh and cooked in too hot oil, so batter uncooked inside. Oh, and 5p for a “fork”!!! Try elsewhere recommended.

Just had a large order from the Golden fry 2, Greasby…and it was all lovely and hot/ fresh. There was nothing missing and everyone enjoyed the food including the children….thanks

Great plaice/place to go for fish and chips. Chinese food is ok but there is better. Nothing wrong with it, just better. All food is based on my taste buds so don't go because I said so.

I live in NYC now but it's the first dinner I have when back home. It had been my local chippy since i was born (almost 50 yrs now!). Fish, chips and mushy peas. Lots of salt and vinegar. The wife who is from NYC has been know to stand outside waiting for them to open. She's Dominican and knows her fried food. I took a buddy who is Trinidadian over for a footie match and he went back right after digging into fish n chips to get another portion...granted he'd had a few beers at that point. Only thing (and it has nothing to do with this chippy) is how expensive it's gotten. I recall fish n chips for a pound in me teens...I think.

Dreadful food . Only gave one star as had no choice ! Worse chippy ever ! Maybe if they actually cleaned out fryer and served chips and not just scraps left over . Disgrace!

Really disappointed.. bought 4 meals none of us liked / enjoyed or finished food . Very salty full of oil - even dog didn't wanted eat left over meat . Never go there again .

Small portion sizes of chips. When I saw the regular size being served it didn't look much so asked to make it a large portion. She added the tip of a scoop amount of about 6chips extra, so basicly still a regular sized portion, but charged extra. I stopped going here after the last two occasions the large portion sizes were not enough to go around the family at dinner. One person got none as ran out. They are also stingy with the salt and vinegar resulting in tasteless chips. My grandmother stopped going there after she was short changed which they denied and refused to check. Used to be a good chip shop years ago but now they are penny pinchers. They only take cash, not updating for card payments, Again probably to save more money! There used to be a tips box which went 'missing' one quiet lunch time, the young teenaged employee working there at the time did not get a share in the tips. We believe the people running the shop took it for themselves as there was a large amount of tips that year which they did not want to share with the part time employee. Needless to say Il be going elsewhere in future.

Decided to give it another go! Dreadful! They need to learn how to make chips ! Still awful and won’t be going back. Re fries and all bits , be nice to have had an actual chip in the portion !

Absolutely poor food and service. Would not recommend buying from here , as they serve their dishes plain and dry. I rang up and they were rude and blunt to me. They then told me to come back and buy a sauce to make my food less dry?!! Absolute disgrace of a takeaway , I wouldn’t even rate it 1 star. Definitely will not be buying from here again not worth a penny.

Great little family-run Chinese chippie that's been established in Greasby for years. Always friendly, good prices, and tasty food. Fish are fried fresh, sausages are spot-on, chips are delicious! Chinese takeaways are delicious too, but I can only speak for the few I've tried - my number 1 in Greasby is defo GFN2.

The food is fresh. You get huge portions. Reasonably cheap and well worth the very short wait. It's probably advisable to call to book your order then you can pick it up without waiting. Get home and enjoy. That's it, I'm going for tonight dinner. It is a cash only place. Which doesn't bother me. I have seen idiots complain about that. I don't know why as it doesn't bother anyone else. The food is really good the Chinese meals are delicious

Food absolutely disgusting! Is our local and have given too many chances . Chips disgusting, not even chips just bits . Fish a joke . Will not set foot in again . Rip off . Need to get their act together and improve the food . Used to be a fab chippy years ago but not now . Avoid !!!!

Absolutely terrible, after waiting for 45 minutes outside , the woman behind the counter was rude , got home and tasted there food and it went straight into the bin , disgusting. Would not ever go back there.

Was honestly a bit dubious at first with it being no delivery, but every single doubt has vanished. This place has well and truly impressed me and it is so much more worth it than any "just-eat"chinese takeaway, trust me. The portions were really big and the option to have boiled/fried rice/chips with your main at the additional price of 80p is an absolute steal. I honestly cant believe a total of 6.20 for a house special curry with rice, completely filled me, but it did. My partner had the traditional fish and chips and said it was the best. No over fried, greasy or soggy chips here. Huge portions of fish with crispy batter, 1 piece hung over the plate at both ends! Fantastic! Thank you very much golden fry no2. P.s for all reading this, if you forget its cash only (like I did), next door is a convenience store that does cash back, so dont worry.

After golden fry trying to charge £42.70 for 3 items being - kids chicken nugget meal, nutella calzone and another small dish, we disputed the correct price over phone and in the end they agreed it added up to £17.20, we received our order to find it had missing items and the calzone had cheese on it. After realising this we were not happy so called back to ask that they send a new calzone without cheese, we got a comment back and the person on the other end of the phone insisted it came like that even though no other calzone we have previously ordered from this chip shop had came with cheese she then proceeded to hang up and leave us unsatisfied with our service to say the least

Price good, portions good size apart from the prawn toast which is one peice of toast, sweet and sour pork with noodles very very nice, special tomato with rice salty as hell.

Always had a lovely meal from this chippy and staff are lovely, the person who gave it a bad review must have caught them out a bad time as never experienced any poor service or attitude from staff. I fully recommend this chippy and ask you to ignore the one and only bad review on this site, try it yourself.

We rarely buy chip shop chips, but remembered that this place was good last time we visited. The chips we bought were terrible, and looked as if they had been reheated from the previous day - they were scrappy, limp and over cooked. On the plus side the potions were large, but unfortunately we do not want to eat them. They will be going out for the birds tomorrow morning.

Would have been 5 stars only for the aggressive verbal treatment of young female staff, when they have done nothing wrong. Its rude and cruel to treat your staff by humiliating them and in front of customers!!

We really like it here. Whilst I wouldn't call out any particular dish as being outstanding, they're all very good and friendly service. It can get very busy at peak times though.

Fish and chips are delicious. Friendly and efficient staff. Free prawn crackers with big orders. Very popular in the area and advise phoning in to order and save a long wait.

Our local . Varies in quality of food each time we go. Tonight we got one fish, one portion of chips and a carton of curry , just over £7. Awful! Fish all dry and chips poor - just small dried up bits ! Hardly any actual chips in the portion ! Really poor quality and will definitely not go back now . Nicer places in Greasby to get food . A portion of chips Should be nice soft chips and not sharp tiny pieces that look like fryer hasn’t been cleaned out !!! Gave one star as had too !

Very inconsistent with meals food different one week to another last week I bought chicken chow mein was nice this week bought again Same meal not good hardly any noodles all bean sprouts I not enjoy it one bit also the can't make chips over cooked warm ups I don't think I will use this chippy again

Live in Greasby, best chippy in the area. Drive past two places to eat from here as the chips are nice and tasty, would be better if got less bits. Salt and Pepper Chicken Strips are lovely.

Sausage dinner but wanted peas in separate container, refused and made us pay for peas separately. Then made to wait for food. This place is not what it used to be . Staff need better attitudes.

We normally come for their excellent Fish and chips or Scampi and Chips but this time we had Chinese Curry and Fried Rice. This came quickly with loads of chicken, mushrooms and onion. Beautifully hot with such generous portions that one pack is more than enough for two people, so at £6-50 it is tremendous value.

Probably the best chips on the Wirral. I drive past two other take aways to go here. The chips are always just right. Only two issues one, the have a shoddy service work flow you never know who's next, and two, the last portion of chips I got was tiny. Price isn't bad, chip portion size should be tiered.

Really excellent chips in generous quantities and very good scampi. The service is quick,pleasant and efficient. We alternate between scampi and fine battered cod on each visit.

Food is very good But the service is annoying. They seem to prioritise telephone orders and leave customers waiting until these have been done. I waited for 20 minutes for one meal and chips whilst several telephone orders much larger than mine was given out.

Sumptuous flavouring of their Chinese meals makes this place ideal for people who are hungry. There is plenty of choice from the enormous menu on the large wall. The light refreshing drinks fridge is perfect for anyone who is getting a meal or simply just thirsty. I would spend money here again.

Everything you would want from a chippie. Freshly cooked, great tasting food. Fish suppers were good size portions, piping hot and the best chipa for miles. Made a big order and it was ready for collection on time. Staff were really friendly. Highly recommend.

sometimes when we order our food we don't get some things that we order but we still had to pay but sometimes we get all our food and its really nice and they are really friendly. every time they get new staff it seems they get it wrong.
