I visited here for 50 minutes with a pot of drink I was making my way through and my laptop - tethered to my own mobile data. I was told upon paying to not come here again and perhaps try cafe Nero rather than using their internet (which the woman had presumed, I was actually using my own mobile data) and having one pot of drink (all I could manage). I have previously used my laptop here and it had never been a problem and I never stay here for longer than a hour as I am aware these are the rules. The way I was spoken to was extremely rude and condicending, there were other guests nearby who were sat for similar amounts of times with just drinks however perhaps they found it easier to pick on a young woman. NO value for customer service and cannot seem to show basic human decency or respect with the way they talk to people either.

We rang up and booked today, checking that we could have breakfast. When we arrived the lady looked my partner up and due to the fact he was wearing tracksuit bottoms, and was immediately funny about finding us a table even though we had booked. We sat down and was told we couldn’t have breakfast even though we had previously asked when booking. At this point I felt extremely frustrated and walked out, telling my partner who walked out behind me, that they had decided we could have breakfast. Very Disappointed!

Just been here, waiting over 30 mins for a terrible omelette that cost £9. That was with 2 fillings - uncooked onion and some cheese which I couldn't taste over the over cooked egg. I have never left a bad review in this, but this place is just awful.

I have just been into Chesterfield and called into my favourite cafe. Even though the place is closed for eating in, they are still open for take-aways, and now, also do deliveries, which includes bakery items, such as cakes, bread, eggs, biscuits, and much more for a small delivery charge. The drinks are of the same great quality and taste as before using 100% recyclable materials. The plastic top can be recycled in the usual way, and the cup is recyclable by putting into your compost bin. As always, you get served by the great staff, who will look after you with a smile. Even a grumpy old git like me gets a smile from them. (Either that or they have got wind stuck. They don't even talk through gritted teeth when they serve me..... AMAZING!!!)While I was there, I decided to spoil myself with a Cherry & Almond scone, which from past experience are delicious, and very more-ish. The choice of cakes on offer are amazing, both to look at, and eat. (I cant resist a good cake, can you?) I have never been disappointed with any I have tried, and I have tried many. Well.......... You can't just have a drink, can you???Don't fancy cake? They also have a fine choice of sandwiches, toasties and jacket potatoes to takeaway too for you to enjoy, or, if you are llike me, why not be a pig and have a cake to go with it. After all.......... You CAN have your cake and eat it!!!!Would I go again??ABSOLUTELY!!!!!

I called into the tea room for the 2nd time recently for a cappacuino and a cheery and almond scone to keep me going until lunch. The owner, Keith, and his staff were very friendly, and asked you to take a seat at any table you wanted. The staff waited until I was sat comfortably before coming over to offer me the menu. However, having seen the Cherry & Almnd scones in the window, I had already made my mind up that is what I wanted. I also ordered a cappucino. The scone was one of the best I have ever tasted, and was served on a late with lovely butter. The drink was made to perfection. However, if you want a stong coffee, you do need to request this when ordering your drink. The whole cafe was spotless, and so was the toilets, with the option of several different had washes to choose from.Would I go again?? .......... Absolutely!!!! Well worth a visit, especially as it is the best independent cafe/ tea room/ restaraunt in Chesterfield

This is my second visit to No.10 Cafe and will be my last. I ordered a chicken salad: it was average and more like a side dish, which I was annoyed at considering the price. My two year old who had the children's pancakes had more on her plate than I did. Staff didn't ask if all was good with our food or ask/inform me of where the sauces were, such as mayo etc. Waitress didn't smile. I needed to help myself to the crayons for the little one, which normally staff in the cafes I usually visit do as a matter of course. When I came to pay a waitress was making drinks and ignored me for a while. A "I'll be with you in a moment would have sufficed". I will be sticking with my usual places to eat in the future.

Two of us went in for a cup of tea at 11am on Tuesday. It didn't seem particularly busy and there were at least two staff waiting at tables. We were asked to choose a table and our order would be taken, which it was, after 20 minutes. We were thanked for waiting but there was no apology when the tea then took a considerable further time to arrive (we were asked by a different waiter if we had been served) and no apology when told that we could not pay at the table but had to join a queue of about 6 people to pay.

I was lucky enough to be taken to this gorgeous tea room as a surprise by my partner. From the moment you step through the door you know you're in for a treat, and we weren't disappointed. The decor is absolutely beautiful, the place is deceptively large, but still maintains that homely feeling. The staff are very attentive and catered for all our needs (yes I'm fussy) but nothing was too much trouble. The food served is exquisite, fresh produce that you know has been locally sourced and chosen for it's quality. The variety on offer caters for everyone including children and we found it to be very competitively priced, infact given the quality etc we have paid more at other local establishments for inferior food and drinks.

Waited long time to order and when my omelette arrived it was on the plate on its own no garnish nothing. Was nothing like an omelette more like two fried eggs with a couple of mushroom and a sprinkling of cheese to say it was 8.95 it was very poor so avoid having the omelettes not worth it. Lady tried telling me it was 4 eggs they must have been very small chickens that laid them. Very disappointed.

Much larger inside than I thought as the cafe can be accessed from both sides of the building. We had a sandwich lunch and coffee. A wet October Sunday afternoon in Chesterfield is not an ideal destination, but a lunchtime film at the Pomegranate Theatre made it unavoidable. We were in need of a coffee, and spotted the café on the way back to our car. An advertising board outside the café offering a tea/coffee and scone seemed appealing, so in we went. It was towards the end of any possible lunchtime rush, and we easily found a comfortable seat. The scone was good, the coffee was fine, and the ambience just right. The menu looked interesting and – from what we could see being served – generous and well-presented. When the opportunity presents, we’ll probably call in for lunch sometime.

Called in for lunch with my daughter, visiting from Barcelona. I wasn't super hungry but needed a bite, and there was a good choice on offer. I spotted that the Soup of the Day was 'Courgette, Potato and Cheese'. It sounded a bit bland and boring so I ordered it immediately - I know that nothing is bland OR boring here so I expected an adventure. Nailed it! It was stunning and I am now possessed with balancing these ingredients to deliver the same at home. My daughter had a panini - again, stunning quality. It's the little 'extras' that make this a real experience though - a side dish of croutons toasted with herbs. A most beautiful piece (well, loaf, really!) of bread. A carefully crafted little salad with the panini. Altogether a perfect lunch. Staff are very attentive too, without any 'hovering' that so irritates!

Me and my partner always used to visit this tea room regularly and were always pleased with the atmosphere and our usual breakfast of beans on toast with lovely thick bread and the wide variety of tea infusions to choose from. We haven’t been here for over a year but recently decided to go back and try a veggie breakfast when we were in the town one morning. We found the place had undergone a refurb which was actually very charming and created a very home like cosy atmosphere. We were looking forward to our breakfast but were left very disappointed with what we got for the price we paid. For nearly £9 I would have expected at least half an oatcake if not a full one, instead of the small quarter of one we received which was hardly cooked. The beans were served in a small dish so hardly enough beans to accompany the rest of the breakfast. The veggie sausages were also very undercooked which was a shame also. The refurb has made the place much more delightful but our experience with the food (portion size and undercooked) in comparison to the high price we paid left us very disappointed and unlikely to return for the breakfast again.

Whilst shopping in Chesterfield we were feeling hungry so popped into No10 Tea room, this was a mistake, my wife had a steak sandwich which consisted of a chewy lump of meat between two slices of dryish white bread and a small salad, I opted for the lasagna, it was terrible, the meat had congealed into a solid mass in the bottom of the dish, when I did manage to cut a piece and put it into my mouth it stuck to the roof of my mouth and burned it, and tasted terrible, I sent it back and contented my self with the salad that came with the lasagna. We will never again visit No 10 Tea room.

This lovely tea room located in Chesterfield town centre is just fantastic. The staff are always very friendly and tend to your every need. The food is excellent and we have discovered they have the best breakfast of many places close by. The toast is not the everyday slice of bread you can get anywhere, but proper thick cut bread and is toasted just right. The scrambled eggs are second to none. It is clean and located in a small building but has plenty of space and is generally very busy. We have eaten breakfast and lunch here and cannot praise it enough. While they may be a bit more expensive then other places you definately get the quality and quantity you are paying for. Called in for lunch with a friend who hadn't been before. The entire experience was thoroughly enjoyable from the food and drink, through decor and seating, to some lovely staff. I have eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. However, today, I encountered a tiny flaw - the white bread roll I had was a little chewy due to it's having been warmed in the microwave a tad too many seconds. The taste was not impaired in any way but the texture wasn't as it should have been. I never write a good or bad review without having first discussed with the staff whether I was happy or not so happy, and the reasons for same. So, I did advise the staff on this. If no-one mentions a problem how are they expected to rectify it?!

I’d like to add my appreciation to all staff in the catering industry as when times are busy you just get on with it and try your best. An absolute disgrace of an establishment. My friend and I who are regular customers in our eighties visited for our normal order of a coffee each and a shared tea cake. The waitress brought the order with a single plate. We requested a second plate only to be told we would be charged £1 for the privilege. We thought this was a joke until reaching the till when we discovered the extra pound had indeed been added at the behest of the owner. The other staff were helpful and kind, I must stress that this surcharge was solely the decision of the manager. Asking two pensioners and regular customers to pay for a plate is reprehensible indeed.

The staff were lovely and nothing was to much trouble, as I said we arrived late on but we ordered and at no point were we hurried due to closing. We ordered one afternoon tea and the cheese board. It was delicious we were told they had no quich left but we could have pork pie or extra ham instead, the small pots were a tasteful delight and complimented the cheese, olives and coleslaw. The noggins of bread were served warm. The cream tea was a sight for sore eyes and and explosion of tastes for the tastebuds. The servings were ample infact for some there may be just a little to much don't worry they will supply you with a doggy box to take what you don't eat. With ample tea to wash it all down. There is seating to sit outside in the court yard.

The pork was so tender and juicy and I loved the stuffing. The bread cob was delicious too! My mum ordered one of the peach mock tails and it looked incredible and she said it tasted amazing too! The place seemed very cozy, the chairs were so comfortable, you just sank into them! The decor was very nice and the staff were expectionally friendly and polite. The cake selection was great too and the dessert menu was again incredible. We couldn’t manage a dessert since we were full from our meals but will definitely have to return to try them out. A little bit pricey but didn’t mind spending that little bit extra for great food and great service. Will definitely be returning!!☺️☺️

Decided to visit today to see the new extension to a favourite cafe of ours. Well - don't think we will be returning. The decor is lovely but enormous buckets of cutlery on very small tables and we had two of them! Together with menus leaving hardly any space and dirty placemats this was not a good start. However, it got worse.......The young waitress could not have been any more miserable if she'd tried and after wtiting down our order she still had to come and ask me if I wanted brown or white bread and she got the drinks order wrong! How do you manage that if you write it down? Unless you're not really listening that is. My Husband's favourite breakfast bun has halved in size but not price - I suppose the fancy new extension has to be paid for somehow! It desperately needs more staff for the bigger premises and this point was being discussed at the till by two members of staff whilst bemoaning the fact that "he'll not do that though". They are right but moaning about it in front of customers is not the way to go in my opinion. To cap it all off my Husband had to tell the staff how much we owed for the bill! This is such a shame. We have always loved our visits to Number 10 and were pleased to be able to support an independent and local trader but it looks like expansion = greedy = miserable and bad tempered staff. There are other independent tea shops and we will be giving our trade to them in future.

Visited Saturday morning for breakfast after reading the amazing reviews. Well..walked in, staff miserable, ordered the pancake breakfast, eggs overcooked and overall difficult to eat everything in the bowl much better on a plate. Incorrect drinks arrived.. Staffs face like thunder like it was our fault. Only got an apology when she realised it was her fault. Overall totally unimpressed with staff, service and food. Been living in Chesterfield for 4 years, first and last visit to the tearooms. Money better spent elsewhere.

What a lovely place with great staff! We were met with a very friendly welcome from a young man who quickly found us a table and a home for our quite bulky pushchair. We both ordered the homity pie which tasted amazing and came with a fantastic salad. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and were great with my little girl. Along with such great food this makes this a fantastic place to visit for lunch. We will definitely be returning! Thank you

Stopped off for a spot of lunch with my Mum today (13th May). Always walked past this place but never thought to pop in but glad we did. We walked in found a table straight away which was also very comfortable. It is small inside but there are plenty of seats outside for a lovely sunny day. The menus were on the table and i ordered the vegetarian quiche and salad with a Baileys Irish coffee and my mum opted for bacon quiche and salad, both tasted gorgeous and were well presented. Staff were pleasant and attentive and were happy to pack us up some lovely cakes to go. All in all a lovely little tea room in Chesterfield town centre, we will more than likely visit again and recommend to family and friends...

Myself and my wife go here regularly and love the place, food and service. We went today (Thursday 3rd May) just before noon and were greeted by a young girl. To say she was miserable, unhospitable and disinterested was an understatement. We sat at the table and when she literally threw the menus at us, we decided to leave. Lost custom and we went to Stephenson's who could not be happier to see customers. I have no idea who she was, never seen her before, but she should not be in a customer facing role and has cost you some loyal customers.

Passed this cafe recently & decided to try it. I had tea & a slice of Victoria Sponge. All the cakes looked fantastic. The sponge came with a little whipped cream & strawberry - utterly unexpected and delicious.

We walked into Chesterfield due to heavy snow and decided we needed a hot drink. This was open, warm and inviting. The Ginger cake was to die for rich warming and gooey....delicious!

My husband and son took me here on mothers day morning as a treat.I had a lovely English breakfast. The produce was so fresh and really high quality. The bacon wasn't out of a pack, it was like the bacon you get from a butchers or farm shop, and the tomato sausage was so tender and delicious.I even asked where they get the sausage from because it was so nice. Its locally sourced from a farm in Pilsley. The tea was proper loose leaf tea as well, no tea bags here!great place, with nice cosy decor, and friendly staff. It was my first time visiting this place, but it won't be my last :)

Walked in then walked out after looking at the menu the prices are ridicules for a average town cafe I wouldn't expect to pay these prices in London's top cafes! They've gone greedy over the top for a working class man or woman.

I went to Chesterfield with my partner for the Christmas lights switch on. The place was heaving with people and early evening we were getting hungry. We tried every place and they were all full or not very nice. after deciding to head back to the car and go home, we stumbled upon this place, so decided to eat. I am so glad we did. The staff are friendly and helpful. The place is very clean and nicely furnished. The drinks and the food were all piping hot and extremely tasty. We were not going to have dessert, as my partner is gluten intolerant and has several allergies, but they came up trumps and found a gluten free option for him. The lasagne Was beautiful and the salads are very tasty. It would be nice to have one or two more gluten free options, but other than that, We would highly recommend this place for excellent staff, great food, and a warm welcome, and will definitely be returning next time we visit Chesterfield.

It’s not easy to find truly baby friendly cafes outside of the usual chains, so it was a true delight to find an independently run, family friendly, warm and welcoming tea room with everything needed for an afternoon with toddlers. The menu was extensive, catered for all diets and extremely tempting! The portions were generous and filled us to bursting.

First of all this is not a restaurant which explains why the menu is a bit limited. Having said that it is more than adequate. Service was quick and polite and the food was ok. I had a pulled duck and orange cheese panini which had little taste of orange or cheese but was still enjoyable. The setting was pleasant enough and furnished like a tea room. Reasonably quiet when we went but have not been able to get in on other occasions. The main thing that puts me off is - the tables are a bit on the small side which may not be a problem if things did not come so spread out. I had a coffee that came in a cup with a jug of milk and a choc chip cookie (looked shop bought) on a ceramic tray. My panini came with a salad in its own bowl and dressing in its own bowl, crisps and coleslaw- both in their own bowls on a massive square plate. There was more crockery than space and we only had coffee and sandwich. It all looked good but would gave been better more sensibly presented. The other thing that put me off was when we were leaving a man came in with his daughter and asked if it was ok if he could order some food but explained that his daughter still had some of her shop bought sandwich left. He was told ‘no’ quite abruptly and had to leave - she was only a little girl and it wasn’t busy and i felt it could’ve been handled better.

Sunday lunchtime - what an amazing place. The warmth oozes out as soon as you walk through the door. Friendly, accommodating staff and super efficient service. The choice and quality of the food is superb. The ploughman' s platter was plentiful and good value for money, the hot pork sandwich was scrumptious, the vegetarian lasagne was delicious and the jacket potato was cooked to perfection. Unfortunately we were stuffed by the end of the first course but will definitely return for dessert. Judging by the size of the cake served to other diners, we wouldn't need to eat for a week!

This always was one of our go to places as locals including upstairs in the Cocina Restaurant and downstairs in Barca bar for the amazing Tapas . It’s such a shame as this has gone so down hill . The tapas downstairs is limited now to hardly any dishes and food on offer is so average which you can get anywhere . We chose the Caesar salad which was box standard croutons too hard to eat . We had scotch egg which was ok and then croquettes which were totally tasteless . The tapas here used to be amazing . Such a shame as this is now our third chance hoping things would be better . Please please change your chef and get the great food back . We’re so missing the good times
